Tempted to give more stars because I've enjoyed sharing with friends how comically terrible my experience here was. Ever heard of the "gen z stare"? Well, get ready. I patiently waited my turn for the automatic wash and the light wasn't turning green. The attendant came out and... just stared. I rolled down my window and asked what was up, and without saying anything, made a come hither motion with one finger. I got as close as I could without starting through the wash and asked him if something was wrong. He finally walked up to my window... stared for a few more seconds and says in a very sarcastic voice "first time?". All I could do was laugh it off and say well no the sign literally says wait for attendant. It was odd but whatever. Unfortunately while I was in the wash a car in front of me got stuck and everything was shut off. Sat there for about ten minutes and was wondering if everything was ok, so I tried to get the gentleman's attention again and asked if everything was ok. He came over... stared again for a very awkward 15 seconds, then, as if he'd never learned how to speak to another human, started to explain " the....car...in...front...of...you...is....stuck" articulating like I didn't didn't understand English (born and raised here). I realized my mistake in asking him to interact in even the smallest capacity, so I said "ok well thanks anyway" and I just started laughing again and rolled my window up. He then looked angry and gets right up against the window and tells me to roll it down... um... yeah not gonna happen. He yells across at his manager that I was upset about the wait and needed assistance. I rolled it down just enough to say, "nope, I'm good! Just wondering if everything is ok!" After which he proceeded to stare me down until I was on my way again. Anyway, I've very much enjoyed reenacting the scenario as it's a classic example of the gen z stare. I may recommend this place "sometimes". It really depends on which location you visit. There are several different locations around the Knoxville area and each one is different. One thing I've noticed, is that no matter which location you're at, there's always a very young person working there. Unfortunately, the majority of them are not attentive to what's going on. I've had my car slip off the side rail at the Clinton Highway location. I've had to stand at the check-in gate and watch two workers sitting in the car flirting and playing friends while I struggled to get through the gate at Chapman Hwy, and the totally disinterested and somewhat disrespectful teen/college guy at the Bearden location. then there's also locations like the one on Kingston Pike near Aldi and Academy sports. I've always had a good experience there. I've had okay experiences at the one near West Town Mall and in Oak Ridge. If I have to go, it's It's the cedar bluff (Aldi location) and West Town Mall. read more

I absolutely love the convenience and zippy service that they have at this location. The wash does very well with cleaning my car. They also have the ability to subscribe for monthly fee. I do the $15 one in that does just fine due to the fact that if you bring your own products you can get by for much cheaper then the more expensive monthly subscription services. Their vacuums are pretty strong, I have occasionally gotten the runts in the bunch but not that often. The staff is super friendly and has always help me when there's a computer error or I have a issue with something with the wash. The only downside is a few months back they did remove their wash rags, (I assume due to the fact of people not returning them and stealing them) but other than that everything is fine clean and perfect with this wash. read more

It's a full service but do it yourself car wash! There are SO many car washes these days...like pizza joints they are hard to tell Apart until you get to Arlands. Their jazzy, comical signs tells you that it's different than the rest. You can debug or demud your car/truck before going in at a few was stations on the left side of the entry. However, if your vehicle is caked with mud, turn around or they'll turn you away. Of course you get the plastic bag on your back wiper blade. (What's it for anyway?) After going through the wash, wait Til it says GO or it makes hateful beeping sounds at ya. The vacs are ridiculously suctionious! Yes, I made up that word. ZERO STARS (had to pick 1 just to get this to post... Do not go to this car wash! Doesn't matter how good or bad the carwash performs, they are crooks. While traveling through Knoxville in late Sept '21 I stopped here to rinse off our dirty car due to traveling in the rain. Pulled through, car got washed, my wife and I pulled to vacuums and dried the exterior and I was happy. 2 months later while reviewing my CC statement I was another charge for Zips! And looked back and was charged in Sept & Oct '21 for a monthly membership that I DID NOT ORDER OR AUTHORIZE. I don't live in Knoxville! Why would I buy a membership to a car was in another freaking state?!?! Complete fraud. Disputed charges with CC who credited me and said they were having difficulty getting in touch with the merchant but said they would address the unauthorized membership. Well it continued in December and I have to yet again ware time trying to contact a crooked Business who obviously has no intentions of being contacted since they have no working phone and do not reply to their websites and inquiry forms. don't waste your money, not on a membership, not on a single wash. i'm disappointed every time i come. zips in general offers less and less coupon offers which is funny when they have washes like this one out there that are not worth at the cheapest $12. most the time i go, the wash still leaves my windshield, front end, and hood dirty. the cherry on top is that the vacuums suck, or don't i guess. every single time i have went for the last 2 years, there is so little suction power from any vacuum i pull into i might as well have just skipped attempting. you can tell too because more than half the vacuum hoses have all fallen out of the vacuum holders and are in the parking spots because there is no suction to hold them in. but what really has done it for me was i went today at 1:30 on a sunny tuesday and they had the vacuums all completely off, with no signs stating why. i'll find another car wash, there's plenty out there. read more

This place is a joke. They are closed half the time. Only half of their vacuums are working. They "supposedly" treat members better than everyone else. They don't spray your car off like they are suppose to. They get you right on the cars bumper that is in front of you. There rinse cycle is awful it always leaves soap on your vehicle. Since becoming Zips the service has gone downhill. They no longer offer the towels and window cleaner, bug wash on the front, front window cleaning, or rear cleaning. They no longer put the protective plastic on the rear wiper. When I asked the manager about all of this he told me that there were no plans to put the towels and window cleaner back but I could go to the Zips website and complain and they might put it back. He also said the reason they stopped doing the bug scrub and rear cleaning is because it puts the employees lives in danger. I emailed a complaint via the Zips website and have received no reply. Really did not expect one. Bottom line is, Zips is a rip off. Same price, less service. My vehicle is not as clean as before Zips took over. Conclusion is Zips is not a good value. Paid for the most expensive car wash, which was $20. Pre-treated my wheelss to get rid of all the brake dust and normal road dirt that these car washes don't normally get. Came out of the car wash to discover soap remained on the back half of my car as well as my side mirrors, and my wheels were still not clean. Paid again to get back through the gate to actually speak with someone and was told they would let me know something after I went through the wash again. After going through the wash again I got out and discovered more soap! The employee came back out and told me she could give me a towel to WIPE the soap off my car and they (her GM) knew soap being left on cars was a problem and the reason for it was they have the wrong size hose for the part of the car wash that is supposed to rinse all the vehicles off correctly. This is a very huge place with loads of Free space to vacuum your car of course after the wash. Their lowest package is around $6 but if you take the works package cost around $14. I ended up taking the monthly package/ Pass for $21 which make a whole lot of sense as you can come as many times as you want in a day & it's unlimited. After the wash I was vacuuming my car and their Vacuum's are extremely powerful. Unfortunately it sucked up one of the cover from my car. So I requested one of the guys working there and he was super helpful, he explained to me that they got Two Canister to collect dirts & if it has gone to the big canister he won't be to get it back. First thing first he emptied all the trash in a small bucket from one of the small canister and put his hand in the bucket to find the small piece of cover, bucket was full of trash, hair & what not. It was so filthy but he kept looking, no luck finding it :( later he literally put his whole arm inside one of the small canister that were hanging on the top just to find that small cover, Luckily this time he was able to retrieve the cover for me & that's 5 star Customer Service all the way. Basically this place is deceptive. While you're online getting a car wash, they come up to your car and talk you into getting a free month's worth of car washes. They make you sign a paper if you agree. Meanwhile there's a page full of terms and services that you're not going to read while you're online waiting to go into the car wash, especially when others are waiting behind you and you don't want to hold them up. What these deceptive terms and services say is that they're going to charge you twice as much in the following months even if you don't get your car washes. When you call customer service, you wait on the phone for half an hour. They act very nice and say that they will put in a refund request for the months that you haven't gotten car washes. Then they never get back to you. When you call them up once more, they tell you your refund request was denied a long time ago. I just don't get how a business can operate this way. Making money from fees that people don't realize they're paying and keeping money for services they never rendered. Usually have a great experience here, decided to come and get my wife's car nice and clean and purchased the full package. $18 dollar car wash, but I figure with the microfiber cloths they'd have after, I'd be able to make everything perfect for her. So I do the car wash thing and pull around and vacuum out the car, and now I'm ready for the cloths so I can clean the upholstery and windows, and NO CLOTHS ANYWHERE. My car was damaged in this wash. Deep scratches . Went through their paperwork procedure to report. They just apparently take that information to help defend themselves and not to aid in resolution. They denied responsibility and manager was very rude and challenged me to obtain attorney etc. apparently a pro at weaseling outta doing what is right. No way I'll ever allow a vehicle of mine back in this place. I will have to turn this into insurance to get this repaired and let them sue . If I could give no stars, I would. I took my husbands Audi to the Moss Grove Blvd location yesterday. I paid for the "best" car wash on the menu, which was to include big removal and drying with spinning buffer at the end. When I left the washing station, I had not received either of those, but it was busy and I thought not a huge deal, even though I had paid extra for those options. When I got to the vacuuming station on the passenger side and rear of the car there was still soap on the car. I went inside to ask about remedy, young man came out looked at the car and said it was too short for their equipment to do a good job. Then I inquired about the options, he said they were really busy so the buffing "towels" would have been wet. He offered to get a bucket of water and a towel to get the soap off and when I asked for rewash, can't do that, when I asked for a refund, can't do that. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
