We stopped in to see them to get a price for striping and putting headlight film on my car. We…read moreshowed them the product prior to buying. About a month later we had the product and brought my car in to have it done. While there I asked what they would recommend to get some stickers off the car handles and they said they would do it. After handing out for hours, it was determined that it was going to take longer than they originally thought so we left the car. During that day there I had asked for an exact amount since they charge a surcharge percentage if you use a card and they refused to give me an amount. When I was told it was done I headed that way to pick it up and then they gave me a total that was twice the amount quoted PLUS they were charging me for removing the stickers AND for washing the car prior to putting the stripes on. When I got there I was shocked. That's actually an understatement. The stripes are taped in some areas, not adhered in others. The headlight film (which I provided enough to do headlights and tail lights) has been over heated and was bubbles. The paint around my windshield was peeling off in chunks. I spoke to who was supposedly the owner and he looked at it and seemed shocked as well. Told me it would get fixed. So I left it again. About two weeks later I had to pick it up because I needed it for a trip to go get my chemo which I get in Florida. It still wasn't fixed. The owner said he wasn't able to get the paint people to fix it during that time. He sat down with my husband and I and said that the windshield would have to be removed to paint it and would I consider having it wrapped instead. He showed me different colors of wrap and even some graphics and said they could do whatever I wanted and to look at examples and get back to him. So we looked at different examples and sent him a bunch of photos to give him examples of what I liked. He pretty much ghosted my husband and I with only an occasional answer. Then all of a sudden he wiped back offering to wrap it at half off. Which was not what was said originally. So at that point I said I wanted my paint fixed and again I was ghosted. Then he comes back with saying that the year and make of my car had issues with the paint around the windshield so they won't do anything at all. So now I'm left with a horrible stripe job, bubbled head lights and peeling paint which I tell everyone where it was done. My car paint was perfect when I dropped it off. It wasn't peeling or bubbles until they steam washed it. I was amazed that this was how this company treated me. It's far from over at this point.

Sprayed my tinted windows and the chemical he use damage the film. I asked for detail cleaning on the inside and outside the Jeep and the engine and the car wasn't waxed or shampoo the carpet or seats and the engine wasn't clean. I have been ready for a detail job on my car for a while now.. I have looked at a bunch of places…read moreall over the area but the reviews seem to be hit or miss. Except Outstanding Car Detail. And....they come to you. I don't know how I feel about mobile detailing as it isn't necessary in this case. Let's give them a shot. I sent them my info on the website and Mack called within the hour to discuss my job, price, and availability. It all sounded good and could be done within the week. To my delight DJ was the detailer that showed up. I say this because he was called out by name on a few online reviews as having done a great job. After initial introductions and a little about what I was looking for, DJ got right to work. I showed him where the water spigot was and that I would be around if he needed anything. Not a lot of reaction about the water, which was odd, but he thanked me explaining that he would be here quite a while. I left DJ to do his work without a watching eye but I did check in from time to time. I couldn't get it off my mind that a hose never appeared and the driveway showed no sign of being wet. I finally asked DJ about this which is when he explained that they do waterless detail. Waterless was new to me. Never heard of such a thing. DJ educated me that today's cleaners have a high lubricity which allow them to capture the dirt and grime and safely remove it from the surface. I am all for technology but still had my concerns. I guess I am old school. A bucket of water with some soap and a hose just seems more efficient and effective. Oh well. I am open minded enough to let them do their thing. After about 4 hours DJ was done and ready for me to look things over. This proved to be tougher than it seems with sun in some areas and shade in others. I did my best knowing that my inspection would be inspected later by other eyes. I found some areas that needed some more attention and DJ was quick to take care of it. This was expected as another fresh set of eyes can see things that the first might have missed. After I thought we were good. I accepted the job, paid the bill, and DJ was on his way. I was happy. Hours later with different lighting and another set of eyes looking we found that things were missed. The wheels jumped right out to my wife as having some missed areas. It became apparent that the harder to see spots when the wheels were in one position were the noticeable areas when the wheel was in another. Shouldn't have been missed but it was clear to see why. The same goes for the grill and all the different area and angles it presents. I understand these are the harder areas to notice but after all this is called detailing and the quality is judged in the details. Over the next two days other small things were noticed. A spot on the head liner that needed more attention, a french fry under the seat that points to some missed vacuum attention. Small things present themselves over time. To be fair, I missed them in my inspection and I did accept the job. All in all, Outstanding Car Detailing did a good detail job. Do I prefer a soap and water wash and traditional wax? Yes! Do I prefer soap and water to be part of a shampoo job on my carpets, mats, and headliner? Yes!! In the future I will seek out the more traditional methods of detailing. It was nice having them come to me but it is not necessary and can be worked around to satisfy my personal opinions, preferences, and techniques. They make dry shampoo for your hair these days but I think we can all agree that the best thing to do is jump in a shower or bath and get wet with some water, the universal solvent.

I said it would be fine for them to use the products they prefer instead of ones I purchased. That's totally fine with me so long as you take accountability of that choice in the event of an issue. I tested what I have for colorfastness, but I can't test what they use. Because this is a mobile service without a storefront, I asked if I could have the owner's name and to confirm that this business was licensed and insured. The person I'd been emailing with then started calling my phone. When I picked up, he was asking "why are you insinuating we aren't a legitimate business?" and "you can look up everything as a public record." I was like "hey, relax, because of your business model I need to confirm that you are a licensed and insured business. Just email me the owner's name and the address for the business office." I was trying to calm him down, and he kept amping up the conversation until I finally got off the phone. I then got a lengthy email from the owner declining to service my car because I had asked whether they were insured. This is just a weird way to act when all I requested was some information that would allow me to confirm that this was a licensed and insured business.
