I needed my car washed yesterday and so I came to Zips. As I pulled in to the kiosk I was greated by a gentleman by the name of John. He explained to me about all the memberships but was not pushy. I have had a few bad experiences with this car wash before...so I really was not wanting to start a membership. John assured me that there had been several improvements made and that he was the New Assistant Manager. I did not go with a membership but decided to discuss with my husband if we should try one. With the things John relayed to me that had improved and the kindness he showed; I feel as if we may start a membership at this Zips on Mountain Grove Dr. With employees like John, that greet customers with such a kind and caring smile, you will have happy repeat customers. This first time I went to this location one of the workers, Johnny, came out yelling at me because the machine at this location didn't read my membership tag. This has happened at other locations and the workers just run my membership number then let me through. Johnny, however, decided that he would rather yell at me telling me "I told you LAST time to take a picture and bring it inside!!" This was my first time ever using this location. I went in and showed the other worker the picture of my tag and let her know that I had never been there before so for him to yell at me like that was crazy. She apologized and said he probably thought I was someone else; I'm assuming another customer. Whether it was me or anyone else, no one should ever be spoken to like that just because Johnny was having a bad day and/or didn't want to come outside. read more

Came into Zips on January 1st as I needed to change my membership from one car to the new one I just bought. I met both Doug and Michael who proceeded to look me up by the RDIF number that was attached to my old car. When they entered the number, they found out the number wasn't attached to my account but attached to someone else. I told them that's impossible as my son had just came in with the old car with the number on it. After about 20 minutes and talking to the useless customer service, Doug and Micheal took matters into their own hands. Micheal contacted the district manager and told him of the issue while Doug continued to help the customers. After about 40-45 minutes, we were able to get it all settled along with some assistance by the district manager. But the stars of this story are Doug and Micheal, who exhibited nothing but professionalism as they worked diligently to get this situation handled. If it weren't for both of these two men, I would have left Zips and never came back. But because of the two of them, I bought the top of the line package and will definitely be back. Arrived with a whole mirror and I left with only part of a mirror. When they went back to "look" for it I was quickly instructed that it had fallen in the grate aka they didn't want to look for it and to come back on Thursday when they empty it. I put my name and number on the board and what was was missing but instead I stopped by on Thursday one hour before closing time because I knew they wouldn't reach out and they had already closed for the day. Paid 30 for their best wash. Did not get any of my window clean missed lots of spots. They had no clean rags and the vacuums were not working. Pitiful when there are so many other washes in the area. It's great when it works and is open, but the owners are neglecting this location. Gates often don't work, vacuums have constant issue and - most infuriating - they are often not open when they say they will be. I just added 30 minutes to my commute to run my business's car through. They're supposed to open at 8, but it's 9:20 and they're still not open. read more

I had an issue with them with my Ford raptor truck where the wash ripped out my 3rd brake light above the rear cab..I honestly thought it was a freak accident A year later which was just last week my black f150 comes out of the wash with scratches all down the side A friend of mine was also rear ended inside the actual car wash because they had a failure on equipment The car wash is closed alot due to maintenance issues so overall this is the worst car wash you could possibly go to I canceled my membership read more

While being new to the area I hesitantly signed up for the monthly car wash service special. I was told and verified I would only get charged 15 dollars a month for unlimited car washes for the first month. Seemed to be fine so I signed my truck up and then was told it was 10 dollars for the first two months. Cool I thought. Turns out they charged me 40 bucks a month for the first car and 15 for the truck. Went in to try and sort things out and adjusted my month to 20 for the first car and 15 for the second. They will not correct the over billing and are requiring me to jump through hoops by having to go through corporate. Lame! All smoke and mirrors to cheat the customer! read more

This place is a joke. The employees are never outside working as they are supposed to, instead they are getting paid to sit the office on their phones, making tiktok videos, or sitting in their car. Some customers have resorted to driving themselves onto the track if the wash is on. When employees do come out they treat you like a burden, roll their eyes, and don't even guide you onto the track all the way. I went through this wash once and my car was bouncing off the track because they didn't guide me onto it correctly. After waiting on employees to spare you 10 seconds of their precious time, and getting your car dragged through the wash, you take a look at your car and see a hideous mixture of soap, water, mud, and maybe even scratches or dents. This car wash is hilarious! Something is always broken, the gate, credit card payments, the bug with light up eyes has one hanging out LOL! But...it's Zips and there are Zips everywhere in East TN/North Carolina...so I keep my membership, this location is a joke but the others are fine. read more

I came here at 8 o'clock to get a car wash. They didn't open till 815 I went through and purchased the full features $25. When I went through the wash the tire cleaner did not even operate. I asked Management about receiving discount. They said that I could go back through and rewash Problem with that is it's still not gonna clean the tires so I asked for a discount they said they cannot give me a discount. Therefore I feel they deserve a one star. Also they do offer hand towels after you go through the wash which is nice the vacuum cleaners did work. read more

Like several other reviews note, the vacuums and pay gate are regularly out of service. Every time I go through, I have to pull over and reposition both outside rear view mirrors, as the spinning brushes always flip the mirrors' breakaways - this never happened at Sudz when I lived in Sevierville. Checked my bank statement this month and they have increased their monthly membership fee, but could not trouble themselves to notify me before charging extra to my card. When I stopped in to ask about this the attendant asked me to write my name and phone number on a white board and management would call me. (I was the fourth name on the board, so evidently others have issues.) After nine days of no such call back, I returned and observed that my name/number was no longer on the board - so someone saw fit to erase me but not pick up the phone. I cancelled my membership on the spot. read more

have been a loyal Monthly customer of Zips Car Wash Since 2016, so more than 4 years now. In the beginning I used to get my car washed in Knoxville since there was no Zips car wash in Sevier County. Once Zips took over the car wash in Sevierville it was like a cherry on top. Then Came SUDS car wash in Sevierville I was told and recommended by many many people to switch to the Newer Car Wash But I strongly felt that it's the people behind any successful business, So I hung around! However so many times car wash had damaged my new 2020 car rims and my previous car as well. I didn't make a fuss because stuff happens. Today as usual I came in for a routine car wash and as you just enter the tunnel, Zips has this guy who preps your car which was a paid service before and since I had the premium monthly pass I was waiting on him to finish the prep and all of sudden I see my rear sensors started beeping and that happens when an object/another car or pedestrians are in proximate distance - there was a pickup super close to my car. He was so impatient that he kept inching forward even as my car was still being prepped, causing my car sensors to keep beeping.  I think it's the job of the Zips guy in tunnel to tell the other cars to keep a safe distance but he didn't care or say anything. Once the prep is done I was told to pull in and keep the car in Neutral, which I did and since I got Hybrid my car rolls out until track comes underneath the tires, while I wait for that, I  see my car sensors started again to beep very fast this time as the pickup truck behind me just kept on and on coming very very very close my car and the Zips Prep guy said nothing until I had to HONK very Loud to the other car in the Tunnel to Back Off. Once the car wash was done I wanted to get this situation to be known by the Zips Manager who was on site today but to my surprise I was rather told that it's not Zips Fault rather it's the fault of the driver behind me and I should sue the car behind me and not the Zips Incase anything had happened! And I was like really why would I want my car to get hit in the first place("Even if it's a expensive car or Not"), plus if all this could have been easily prevented in the first place by a proper training from the above management.  I'm very disappointed to know that in today's world top notch customer service that drives any business success is going to hurt this location until they raise the standards of their customer service with proper and smart training. Been a long time customer with monthly membership. Even when rates went up for no apparent reason and the drying towels went away I stayed with Zips. Now, for some reason they are down to one lane creating lines out to the road. Usually have to wait for attendant to come out of the office. I like the pre rinse from the attendant but taking way too long. Another premium wash is opening close by. I'm probably taking my business there if nothing changes at Zips soon. read more

Terrible! We have a monthly membership on other car. The machine would not read our credit card. The employee came out and wanted to take our. Recipe card inside to swipe. We said no! There was a line of cars behind us at this time. My husband asked to be let out or given a wash bc he had a monthly membership. The employee walked away. He did not respond to our questions. I was greeted and helped by the manager Desmond. I have always thought about buying a monthly pass but always had questions and felt too rushed to ask for help or information. He was very low pressure, nice, and professional. That help made it quick and easy to learn what I needed to know and make a decision as to whether to try the monthly membership or not. I think the owners of this business made a great hiring decision when they hired him because that kind of service, professionalism, and comfort in sales is very unusual to find these days anywhere. read more

I'm not one to leave a bad review usually. This wash is broken half the time. I've been many times and they have it closed with no explanation to why. Most of the vacuums have broken hoses or stopped up with debris. My monthly wash is suppose to include the bug prep and the last probably 10 times I've been it's never applied. Again, I have a membership so it doesn't matter which line I go through but for someone who doesn't I can't imagine the because usually one of the machine's are down and not working. There is another zips about 30 minutes from me that does much better cleaning and everything works. I just wish this location was more reliable. It's frustrating to drive to the wash and it's closed with no explanation. read more

We came home from a week at the beach and needed to wash salt, sand, and bug splatter from our car. We purchased the $20 "best wash" that was supposed to include "bug blaster." We were the only car in line. Now we know why. The attendant took his sweet time in coming out to help us. He barely sprayed the front of the car. Didn't even touch the windshield nor use the scrub brush. One would think a $20 car wash would include much better service. read more

It's a little "hit or miss", depending on personnel at entrance into wash tunnel, or how much pre-wash, or friendliness you'll get. The lot has always been clean, and the pass reader has been working for a while now. The vacuums are more powerful than last owners. No longer towels available, that had been under previous ownership. Still, I have a monthly pass. Still plenty good enough for me. read more

Zips car wash was great when it first opened. Then Zips got a new owner and the car wash has went to S#*t since. We canceled our member ship and are now going to Pure Magic. WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Zips car wash doesn't take care of the equipment. Some of the equipment that is supposed to spin and rinse doesn't even spin and 2 of the 4 jets (on both sides) do not spray water. Leaves soap on my car too. The company doesn't even do anything about fixing their equipment even when you let them know. These guys really don't care. People please stop going to zip car wash and maybe someone who cares will take it over. Just go to Pure Magic, especially the Pure Magic in Alcoa. Pure Magic in Alcoa even has a polish tunnel. i read some reviews about the problems others had experienced at this location but i thought they all cant be right, but then i went there and the reviews are just about on point, there was only (1) person working at the whole place, and it as easy to tell he was overwhelmed with his work, they did not spray my car down before starting it through, pulled around to the vacuums and the first thing i saw was all the dirt still on the roof of my car it was so disappointing, then got the vacuum hose it had no suction on it the hose the tip would not even stay in the holder it go into it to the thing was just laying on the ground, i walked over tried another one and it was the same way, i found one that was better but still not great put everything back in my car closed it all up pulled it over and it took me using the hose and sweeping the big pics of dirt with my hand in to the edge of the hose , so after 40 minutes of this i gave up and put it away, there are no rags or cleaning liquid available anywhere, i walked down to the office and tried to ask what was wrong with the vacuums hoses but the office was empty said hello and got no answer, so it was time to leave... i paid over $22 for that clean up and i had to go to another car was when i got back to Sevierville, never again... read more

It doesn't matter which wash you choose it is going to turn out bad, with tire shine sprayed all along the side of the car, also not enough soap and water power to get it clean! Save your money! AVOID Zip's Car Wash - Mountain Grove Dr. Don't Buy the Family Membership "Special" - It's a Scam! I was at the Zip's Car Wash located on Mountain Grove Dr on 3 Feb. They were running a "special" on monthly family memberships. The worker who was at the entrance told me the normal price of $34.95/month was on sale for $14.95/month. The first month I was billed $14.95 as promised. I just found out I was billed $34.95 on 4 Mar. That was not what was promised. I called the 1-800 number and after waiting for 35 mins, I was told per company policy no refunds were possible and that the promotional price was only good for one month. I told the rep that the worker at the location had assured me the promotional price was good for as long as I paid every month with an automatic credit card payment. He said he didn't make policy and that I could try and contact the manager at the local wash. I've been trying to contact Desmond (facility manager) for two days now and there is no answer, and the voicemail box is full. I refuse to do business with a company that uses deceptive marketing practices and outright lying to con customers into signing up for a "deal". I recommend you stay far away too! read more
