I'm frustrated with this location. I have used them a few times for formal wear, dry clean only and my quilt that needs commercial wash and dry machines. I have never had a problem until picking up my quilt this week. There were two extremely obvious black spots on the edges that were conveniently folded into the interior section, so I didn't notice them until I got home and put the quilt on my bed. My quilt it off white, it would be VERY hard to miss while folding this up. It looks like marks from the wheels of a shopping cart or conveyer belt and I watched them put my quilt in a big wheeled basket when I dropped it off. Why not just tell me they needed to re-clean it or even more time? Or apologize for the stains atleast, not just pretend it's not there? I let it soak for 2 days and it seems they are coming out. But I shouldn't have to have discovered and dealt with it after paying for cleaning services. read more

THE spot for a quick and dirty (well.. clean) dry cleaning. I would never take really valuable coats or evening gowns here but for the day-to-day business clothes or shirts, dresses, jackets, etc.. this is the place to go. The service isn't friendly but not rude either. Just quick and efficient I suppose. Bring cash! I always have the worst luck and end up showing up with dirty clothes and no cash and then I'm like scrounging for coins in my car. Smh. haha so don't be like me. read more

Cheaters! Cheaters! Zips put on a television ad offering two garments dry-cleaned for $2 each instead of 2:49. When we brought our clothes there, an employee told us that that deal was only for Virginia and DC, and not for Maryland. We put our clothes in anyway, but then noticed as we saw their ad on television again that no mention was made of limiting the deal to DC and Virginia. When we went to pick up our clothes, we were told that a manager had said that the deal was indeed good for Maryland, but that they would not refund the 98 cents overcharged anyway. read more

I say yes to Zips. Honestly, you can't beat the price for your Nordstrom shirts and pants and suit coats. I take my pants into to have the loose hem replaced or a torn pocket fixed and the work is done promptly and professionally. I don't take my custom suits or shirts here, and I don't take my wife's expensive dresses, sweaters or blouses. But for $2.29 for most products that you wouldn't be heartbroken if something was damaged, I'm gonna take it here. The place is busy, people in and out all day during the week. I love this place! I discovered zips after being ripped off by a dry cleaner in Bethesda and decided to give it a shot. I have been going to this particular zips location for over a year and a half now. They do a fantastic job. Each garment is $1.99 (not $1.75) and it is pre-paid cash only. There has only been one time where something went wrong. I took in a black and white dress (one of my favorites) and the black ran into the white. Zips manager, Lynn, called me and told me about it. I was concerned because this was my newest favorite piece and it being the first time I had it dry cleaned I thought it would be ruined and only after wearing it once! I went into a calm panic and they cleaned it for me until the original white part was white again with no extra charge. I cannot say if they were going to replace it or not because it did not get to that point. They are quick and fast. You can call ahead to see if your dry cleaning is ready. Note but ssshhhh, everytime I call I am told that most dry cleaning is done by 4pm, however, I have called ahead and one time the clerk said it was not ready. I was kinda miffed, but I got my clothes anyways. The younger kids who work there don't see happy, but everyone else is nice. I went into this facility today and I've been using them as a choice cleaners for over two years. This was by far the worse experience I had. I brought to their attention that my items weren't starched and I would like to address this. I had an older short Asian pacific man who refused to give me his name said he saw my name before. I responded that I never had an issue at this location and he must have me confused with another person. He insisted he knew I was an issue and he wasn't sure what to do. Although it's a great location unfortunately this is a poorly managed facility. Im very disappointed at this experience and I will talk to his manager soon. read more

I'm always satisfied with the way they clean all of my dress pants. $2.29 a pop really can't be beat. The service is always fast and efficient--I am often in and out the door in under a minute. If you get your clothes in by 9 AM, they are done by 5 PM the same day. Otherwise, they are done by 5 PM the next day. The location is right on the Rockville Pike, and the parking lot is easy to access. I docked a star because the staff is not friendly at all. But I will continue to come here since it is so convenient and cheap. read more

I have been using Zips for the last year or so, because they are so much more affordable with better hours than any other cleaners around. This week, however, has ended that. Zips not only managed to essentially burn the inside lining of a $90 pair of Banana Republic pants, but when I returned to the Rockville location to address this, they said that because I removed the tags from the garment, I could not prove that it was them that ruined the item. I'm upset because this item was essentially brand new- and Zips' # 1 objective seems to be to do all that they can to avoid any responsibility. At Zips, the customer is simply always wrong. Take your clothes to a responsible and trustworthy cleaner, like Crest who fixed zips damage to my paints free of charge. I think zips is a horrible establishment. read more

I used to go hear for years when they were Dry Clean Depot. I think quality has slipped since they took on more customers. A lot of my shirts started missing buttons or started having threads tearing from the shirt. After this happened to multiple shirts I stopped going here for NY dry cleaning services. read more

I took a new dress to ZIPS for alterations in July 2017. They called me to apologize saying the seamstress accidentally cut and ruined the dress. I was accepting because I understood that sometimes mistakes happen, and I had been a customer previously. They told me a claim would be filed and I filled out a claim form. I've never been reimbursed for the $86 dress or the $25 alteration fee despite periodic attempts to collect. I spoke with Monica Benites, the owner or manager who is hardly ever there, the staff just says to try back. I lost a dress I loved and it retailed for a lot more because I bought it from Lord and Taylor's on sale and applied customer "birthday coupons'. I couldn't get another one because it was sold out. I've tried countless times trying to use this location because it is right by my job (Rockville Audi). I've never had a great experience. They don't tell you when they drop the ball, Ive gotten shirts with buttons missing. Stains not removed and I would take it to another location and it would be done right. My last straw is when they promised my clothes would be done and it's not. Causing me to miss meetings. Spoke to the manager and I "it's none of my problems problem what arrangements I had. I agree that the staff is not overly chatty but they are always busy and try to process things as quickly as possible. I have never had anyone be rude or surly to me. Buyer Beware: Went to the cleaners for the advertised 1.79 dry cleaning special. I checked my receipt before I left the register and was told I did not get the special since I did not mention it although its being advertised on the radio. Trying to get reimbursed was not hassle free or customer friendly. Ultimately was refunded the difference from what I should have paid by the clerk that waited on me. Is this the culture at this location? Not to mention specials or promotions so customers would pay the full listed price? If so, would not recommend this cleaners. I had some reservations about going to a discount dry cleaner, especially with some of my custom tailored shirts. However, I was pleasantly surprised after my first visit and continue to be a loyal customer. I am a frequent dry cleaner (1-2 times a week at least) and I have never had a problem with this location. My clothes always come out clean (although sometimes you need to direct the employee for tough spots) and they have also held up remarkably well. Plus, with the savings of ZIPS over a standard dry cleaning place I have actually been able to buy a few new suits rather than dealing with a $80+ a week dry cleaning bill. read more

Had a brand new burberry polo shirt that I wore several times. Perfectly spotless when I brought it in to get cleaned. Picked up a few days later and the shirt was dirt, filled with holes as if someone was in a fight. It looked exactly like mine but mine was not damage when I brought it in. They claimed it was brought in that way and they are not responsible. Told me they wouldn't have excepted it....hmmm. Negative 100 STARS if it was possible. Management was no help and claimed they are not at fault. You get what you paid for when dealing with service. read more

I agree with most of the other posters...Zips' motto should definitely be, "You get what you pay for." I've been going to Zips Rockville for about two years now and have now started a search for a new dry cleaner. I've had three bad experiences with them, and even though their pricing is super cheap, I refuse to return. I've seen some customers complain about the service when dropping off or picking up my own laundry, and I probably should've paid more attention and run for the hills a long time ago. Bad experience #1...I took in a top to be cleaned, and when I got it back noticed that a bunch of the stitching was coming undone and some sewn flowers were completely coming off. That's okay, I thought...the top was cheap anyway. A few months later, I took in a nice dress that they completely ruined. All of the gold beading was coming off and the beads that remained were completely tarnished. Clumps of gold paint were literally flaking off. I haven't been able to wear it since b/c it looks so awful. Again, I thought...that's okay. It was my fault for bringing in something as delicate as a beaded dress. Finally, the last straw...I took in a pricey pair of white work pants...and was shocked when I put them on and saw, in my flourescent office, that there was a HUGE rust-colored stain on the pant leg. We're talking the size of a cantelope here. The pants were in perfect shape when I dropped them off, so someone or someTHING happened once they reached Zips. I find it very hard to believe that not one of the workers there didn't notice this before hanging and bagging up the pants. Conclusion: spend a little more and take your cleanables elsewhere. I plan to try Crest Cleaners next...they claim to be "green" and also offer coupons on their website. read more

It is true that one can save money here, however there are also other dry cleaners that offer equal or lesser pricing with better service. There is often a line of cars on the road in front of the entrance to the parking lot to Zips. It is a busy area with many cars. It is not so bad - usually cars let one through into the parking lot - it is a pain for me, however, since I am just getting used to my manual car. Zips only accepts cash. I don't know about you, but I charge everything to my credit card and hate dealing with cash. They have an ATM. Zips would not dry clean a dress I had since it had sequins on it. It also refused to wash and press a pair of my husbands slacks - their policy is that all slacks must be dry cleaned even if the care instructions say that they can be laundered. The employees at this Zips are not particularly friendly. Lastly, Zips returned a dress I had wanted dry cleaned, back to me, not dry cleaned, stating that they would not dry clean it since its tag read that it could be dry cleaned but not steamed. Thats ok - but I wish they had read the tag first, before accepting it - what if I had needed to wear that dress immediately? They gave me a refund, however, now I must drive to yet another dry cleaner to dry clean the clothing that Zips could not launder. I do not have the time to run around to different dry cleaners to get my dry cleaning done, nor do I like a business that claims to save me money but refuses to wash and press slacks that do not have to be dry cleaned. Pooh-pooh to you, Zips, I am bringing my business somewhere else. Dry cleaning at a cheap price does not have to be this way. Service should be great no matter what the price - it is not something one pays more for but, rather, should be something inherent to the business. read more

This Zips does the job. I won't say it's exceptional service but for the low cost your clothes will get cleaned and if you arrive by 9:00am you can pick your clothes up the same day. The customer service definitely needs work. I don't expect much though from a low cost cleaners. It serves its purpose. You have the option to pay in multiple ways via cash or credit. The location is convenient via car. The location gets pretty busy during peak hours. The parking lot can get packed in the front. I'd suggest entering from the back as they have two entrances and two parking lots. Overall if you want basic cleaning, no frills, and don't mind average service this place is okay. If you have precious clothes that you care about I'd suggest going to another dry cleaners for example don't bring formal dresses, or clothes with lots of bling. They clean comforters for cheap which is good. They also do alterations and clean shoes. Lots of options in one place for a low cost. I go because I usually have lots of clothes at once. Overall I'd rate this location at 3-stars. It gets the job done just not great. read more

Have been using them for about 4 months. Bang for the buck! Until now that i have to buy new shirts... ALL my buttons are crumbling in my hands. They use too much heat when pressing clothes (and it only makes sense... considering the volume and turn around, it's not surprising that they don't have the time to care for each item individually). You get what you pay for... some say. I would like to disagree. Considering the end result, I would rather not pay for such service at all. If I responded to customer concerns in the manner this (location) ZIPS does....I would have been out of business decades ago!! Managers are hired and paid to represent the values and philosophy of the owner, in their absence....that said, RUN to the nearest EXIT. As I had done many times prior, I retrieved items that had been dry cleaned. My FIRST mistake was not looking them over individually, before leaving the store. My SECOND mistake was hanging them up at home and again, not taking an inventory of the pieces and leaving the cover on until needing to wear a pair of slacks within the "bundle". Imagine my surprise when I finally did look through and instead of receiving each piece I dropped off, I was short a pair of black slacks($90) and in its place was a nicely draped muslin black scarf!! Please note--the fabric, the size, the texture, I would have NEVER purchased.... not throwing shade-we all have our own taste--this simply wasn't mine! When I brought the scarf back I asked to speak to the manager. *Side note to owner....when hiring a manager to represent your business, consider that they ought to have effective communication skills, problem solving skills AND at least pretend to be a good listener, as well being able to contain their defensive, passive aggressive response from the start--thereby elevating a simple conversation to a more combative one...in front of "an audience". I am not combative by nature--but, I will certainly engage in defense of what the "truth" of the situation entailed. Basically, the interaction felt more like a training on WHAT NOT TO DO, when confronted with a customer complaint/problem. So....the scarf had a cleaning tag on it and the date, when scanned, showed it was from 2017!!! Well....I naively presumed she/manager would immediately apologize and reconcile that a mistake was surely made!! NO! Not CLOSE! She presumed that any chance of such a mistake on their part could NOT be possible. I tried to get the fact across that THIS IS WHAT WAS WITHIN THE BUNDLE OF CLOTHES THEY(!!) RETURNED TO MEEEE! Nope--there was a TOTAL lack of taking ANY ownership that any transgression could have occurred annnnd NO regard to the fact that my slacks were missing! LONG story short...although it's a little too late for that....she was going to review the "video" and call me back.... It's been WEEKS...STILL WAITING! PS SHE TOOK THE SCARF.... 1 star, because a middle finger isn't an option. I have a couple big meetings and needed to get my suits dry cleaned. Seemed like a pretty simple task for a dry cleaner. Turns out they couldn't even handle that. Dropped off on Monday am and was told they would be ready by 5 PM. Well, actually the only thing this guy said to me the whole time at the counter was "uh huh", when I asked if they would be ready by 5. Mondat 600 PM, I show up to get my clothes only to see a sign on the door saying their systems are down. Doors locked, nobody there. Will they be up soon? Are my suits cleaned? No idea. Show up at 7:30 - same. Now its Tuesday, I drove to pick up my suits - same sign on the door, doors locked, but wait somebody is in there. I knock, she looks at me, we make eye contact, I signal I need to ask her a question ... she ignores me, turns and just walks to the back. So I decide to call. No answer.. I have no idea if my suits are cleaned, no idea when I can get them, no idea if this place has just gone out of business overnight. And there's nobody I can ask. Terrible customer service!! Maybe they just have too many customers. so in the future I'll do my part to help them with that by taking my business elsewhere. read more

I should have checked Yelp before coming to this business. I'm leaving town tomorrow and needed to get some last minute dry cleaning done. When I dropped off my things the cashier informed me there were two items they could not clean. No problem, I happily took those items to the cleaners down the street. Now I'm here to pick up my things (you know, for the trip I have TOMORROW), only for them to show me another two items they could not clean. SERIOUSLY? Why didn't you tell me that this morning?? The cashiers lack of apology and "I don't really care" attitude just lost Zips a customer. Never again. Take a customer service class. read more

I read the reviews and still gave this place a try. The other dry cleaners I used when travelling here were excellent, but more than twice the price (the hotel is beyond reasonable). Well my shirts and pants are perfect. No button problems, stains on the front gone, collars spotless (and my collars are bad news), starched as i asked, and the the pants all crips and clean. They marked the spots when I came in so that maybe necessary, too. My experience was very inexpensive and very good. read more

Today I was at your Zips location at 901 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD 20852. Your clerk and your manager there are the rudest and stupidest people I have ever encountered at a Zips or at ANY drycleaner location. This specific clerk makes a habit of mouthing off to the clients. Today he looked at a coat I had brought, and said to me "This is machine washable, so why don't you take it home and wash it." Is that what you really want - to send business back out the door? And isn't it MY choice as to whether I will wash something at home or spend MY money to have it drycleaned? And isn't it the WHOLE POINT of your business to persuade me to spend MY money at your store? Furthermore, when I went to the front desk and complained to the manager, she said "Well, he is trained to know what to do with the clothes." As if I DON'T KNOW how to wash clothes! I guess customer service is not a priority at this location and your manager thinks it is just fine for the staff to turn away business. I pointed out to her "machine washable" does not equal "do not dryclean". This did not seem to register with her. And I also told her that I felt insulted as a woman because THIS STUPID TEENAGER is telling women to take their clothes back home and wash them themselves. Should I be pounding it on a rock in the creek too? It is insulting - and I did not hear your clerk telling men standing there with dozens of MACHINE WASHABLE cotton shirts to take them home and do them in the washing machine. It's zips, you've been to one you've been to them all. One thing I noticed that I didn't initially is that there's also a door in the back that you can go into. I went in to the back way and thought I was in a separate place as there's a wall separating them sides, walked around to the and saw the same guy that was in back. I always drop my boyfriends dress shirts for a wash and press and he's always had a good experience with this place. I believe it's only about ~$1-2 per shirt so it's pretty reasonable. There's also a section for alterations that's pretty convenient. I noticed they recent added an option to use your Visa card now! read more

I went to this laundry yesterday for its proximity and price. The place was popular amonst local residents. When I was there, there was a long queue ahead. I was not sure about the quality, for the guy mispelled my name. They don't accept credit cards. Hopefully the laundry is not too bad. I will get the pickup tomorrow. read more

Zips has always dry cleaned my clothes reliably and at a great price! This morning, they (Nubia) returned $900 cash that I left in my pant pockets. I'm a customer for life! Can't put a value on honesty and customer service. There are a great bunch of people working there. read more

Zips is awesome! They are super affordable and definitely do a great job. If you bring in your items before 9 they are done by 5. I'd definitely recommend Zips to anyone. It is pre-paid cash only and they have ATM's available which is nice because I don't always remember to bring cash. read more

You can't beat the price of zips. Moreover, I would say that although the cleaning is fine for most garments, they don't do quite as good a job as other dry cleaners. Thus, unless if you have a garment that needs to be particularly pristine or is a specially delicate garment, such as beading etc, , Zips can do the job at 25% of th price too compared to other dry cleaners such as Crest. One BIG note of caution. Zips tends to lose garments. It isn't common,but it has happened to everyone in our family, You REALLY need to check that you got everything that you gave them. This is no easy task since most people bring large amounts of clothing at one time. However, you need to double check that you got everything back. read more

The staff is pretty good, the turn around time is fast, and I've had good luck with my clothes. But I wanted something for Christmas eve and I called on Saturday and the outgoing message said the hours were the usual - including XMas eve Monday. I checked the website: same thing. Not quite sure to trust it completely, in case of early closure, I got there Monday (Xmas eve day) at 8:30 AM. The sign on the door said it was CLOSED. Nothing on the outgoing message. Nothing on the website. Why bother having all these methods of communication, when you won't update them? C'mon! Now I am out of my best blouse for Xmas. read more
