Zips cleaner a winter comforter in May for storage & when I took it out of the storage bag they provided- it smelled moldy. I asked them to rewash & they refused. They wouldn't let me talk to a manager, told me she was unavailable & didn't know when she would be in the store & didn't have her cell to call. Then, the cashiers pretended another guy was the manager& he reused the comforter because it smelled. It had original cleaning rages & was not used since last winter. AVOID THIS LOCATION! Took 5 new pairs of scrub pants to be hemmed. They assured me they would be ready in 7 days. By day 10 only two pairs were ready which was a problem since I wear a uniform and they were in possession of all of my uniform pants! Out of the two pairs of pants that were ready, one had a new scissor hole in the pant leg by the seamstress. Things happen and I wasn't as upset about the hole HOWEVER it was how the manager handled the situation that absolutely blew my mind. First, the manager was down right rude. I asked politely for them to just pay for the pants since they were brand new and now also had a brand new hole in them. She pushed me off and said I had to wait for another two days when the "other" manager would be at the store. I came back two days later only to find the exact same manager at the store...? She snipped at me and finally agreed to pay for the pants only after much back and forth; truthfully we were making quite a scene. The pants with hemming cost $29.00. I provided all necessary receipts and paperwork to show this... so why did I just received a check from ZIPS in the amount of $27.00?? I am considering this whole experience a sunk cost and will never, ever use ZIPS again. Better off going up 355 to ANY of the other dry cleaners. read more

First and foremost the parking lot is a circus. It seems like everyone in Rockville is picking up their dry cleaning at the same time! The service is below average... They rush you through the line to get to everyone and do not pay close attention to detail. I wouldn't go there unless i had no other options. Back in May, 2012 I gave them a King size comforter to dry clean . I stored it for the summer in the plastic bag it came back in. I just opened it in November, 2012 when it got cold out. Part of the comforter had black mold over it. I packed it up and brought it back. so the owner could fix the problem. His attitude toward my husband was outrageous and rude. He says if we didn't open up the article within 30 days and check the article it wasn't his problem. My husband explained the no one opens up a winter quilt in the middle of the summer. He said, he didn't care it was our problem. He refused to even try to solve the problem by dry cleaning it again. He walked out on my husband while my husband was still talking to him. We took the spread to another cheap dry cleaner across the street from him and a bit north . They are on the right side of Rt.355 going north in a strip mall just past Wendy's. I think it is called Exceptional Dry cleaners. The owner Nam was incredible. He said the quilt was put in the plastic bag when it was still damp and that caused the mold.It was clearly the owner's fault. He said he would try and get the mold out. 0 stars. I am absolutely outraged by my experience with ZIPS. My nice dress was completely ruined, and no one at the store bothered to tell me. I came home to a lame voicemail, and that was all. I cannot believe how horrible their customer service is. If you see that an expensive dress has beadwork, and clearly your "dry cleaning" services cannot handle that, you should have never accepted the dress or attempted to clean it. I am in shock that this is acceptable at your company, and I will be doing my best to make sure everyone I know will never go to ZIPS, because I would not like to see their clothing similarly damaged. I am completely horrified that you consider yourselves not liable for the damage you have done, and I want to make sure everyone knows that by signing that waiver they are more than likely going to walk away with ruined garments. You should absolutely offer your customers compensation for their ruined clothing; it is only fair. Not only that, but I cannot believe I was charged for the "cleaning" of my dress. If you like finding other people's hair, new stains, white turned ivory, burn marks - then this is the cleaners for you. I only took my clothes here for about six weeks. New Years Eve 2014 will be the last time I set foot there. At the first stain, I gave them a pass and didn't mention it. But when a new coat got a burn hole and they denied it, I brought in the blanket with the stain (and dirt btw). They deny, deny, deny. They talk about their process. As I was having this lively discussion with the manager, I was also picking up some clothes. I pulled up the plastic and saw random hairs on my freshly dry cleaned cashmere scarf and my white pants turned dirty ivory. They ruined hundreds of dollars worth of clothes, delivered dirty clothes back to me. My clothes were cleaner when I dropped them off. Disgusting. I will never go back here. I've never had a problem with cleaners, ever. No stars. I love my clothes. You've ruined things I love. Don't go here if you love your clothes. read more

Pros: cheap and quick (will probably have your clothes ready before the estimated time). $1.99 per garment (tax included), prepaid. Cons: everything else. First off, this isn't going to be a positive review mainly because of their poor customer service. In all honesty, they'll give you your clothes paid in a speedy fashion but that doesn't mean that they also provide the best quality wash. If you're washing your $20 button ups or pants then maybe this is the route to go. Otherwise, spend your money wisely somewhere else. When you drop off your clothes, the cashiers look at you and quickly ass for a number. They hardly look at your clothes. They don't check for stains at all. Red flag. To get the job done correctly one must evaluate the problem. As another reviewer said, this is basically a sweat shop where all your clothes just go into the pile and get treated exactly the same. One of the stains on my silk blouse is still there although less pronounced. The customer service is downright bad. As mentioned before, some of these people could care less about who you are. You just go into the system. When I went to pick up my clothes the next day I had arrived just before closing (I checked all of my clocks). I did not intend to arrive so close to 8 PM but I had run into some issues completing my other errands in the area. I went up the the door and one of the ladies just looked at me, shook her head, and walked away from me. I motioned to her that I was only picking up my dry cleaning, quick and simple. I waited a few minutes hoping someone else would be a little more compassionate considering I had arrived BEFORE closing. Nope. Not at all. I received a similar form of treatment from one of the male workers at the dry cleaners. He didn't even look at me as he opened the door to let another customer exit. He simply kept shaking my head and would not even say ONE word like "sorry." I am appalled by how rudely I was treated by some of the employees. In summary, I love that this place is so cheap but I cannot bear to go to this place again considering the inadequate service. Stuff is not getting cleaned. Spots that were the reason why I brought it in were still there afterwards. Ties I brought looked damaged afterwards. My new suit jacket looked way worse/ used than when I brought it in. One item, my wife's dresses that had a fabric belt connected to it was took apart and "cleaned" cleaned as extra item. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS, I WOULD!!!! First of all, I took a dress in that I needed to wear to a wedding and two weeks later it was not ready by the date promised. That didn't bother me as much as what happened when I tried it on at home after I finally picked it up. The dress was too long, so I drove back over before the store closed for the day to drop the dress off. The seamstress asked me if I had the shoes that I wore when I tried the dress on. I had them in my hand and held them up for her. She told me those were not the same shoes and that's why the dress is too long. I said yes, I've had them in my car for the very purpose of coming back to try the dress on to make sure it was ok. She again said no I was wrong. Again I told her they were the same shoes. She continued to tell me I was wrong and she was right. I went to try the dress on to show her that it was long in the back. Instead of looking to see what I was showing her, she told me to come to the back room. She pulled up security footage of me standing at the counter two weeks prior with the shoes in my hand and said "See, they are different shoes" BUT THEY WERE THE SAME SHOES! Finally she looked at my dress after continuing to argue with me that I was lying and she told me the dress was fine. I said no, it's too long. She argued that it was fine. Another person who worked there said she thought it looked fine. I told her to look at the back and she finally did. Then she told the woman that she did in fact I need to shorten the dress. About the only good thing about this Zips is their price. They have torn 3 shirts of mine, each time claiming that they were received damaged. Hard to believe since the rip was in the exact same place each time, elbow of the sleeve. The third time I made sure to look at the shirts in front of the associate. No matter. Torn and not their fault. They also do a horrible job pressing my shirts and the collars get messed up each time. Be warned, they may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would! I have been going here every week or every other with my professional attire. On more than one occasion I have had buttons missing and never complained. This evening I walked with my claim check and was directed to the clerk with blonde locks. I wasn't greets but she took the ticked and promptly told me my clothes would not be ready until the next day. My claim ticket said 1/6 after 5pm. I asked " it is the 6th isn't it?" She took the receipt and walked off and 10 minutes passed with no update. I asked the other clerk of something had happened to her and she replied "your clothes are not ready, so she is looking for them." That didn't make sense at all, so I asked "why wouldn't they be ready?" She looked at me and went back to checking out another person. Finally the lady with the blond locks came back and through my clothes on the rack. I started to take them off so I could finally leave and she says" I need to scan those." I said well " with as long as it took with out any information I would think everything would be complete." I grabbed my clothes and left! I will not return. The worst dry cleaner ever. Will never be back. I wish I had read these reviews before I decided to patron this Zips location. I had been going to this location for a couple of months and my clothes never seemed to be fresh. I then had two jackets tailored and had to come back three times because one arm was longer than the other, the seamstress was stealing the gold-tone buttons on one of my jackets, etc. And even after my third time to pick up these jackets, the tailoring still was not that great... This time I came to pick up some sweaters where the buttons were all chipped and broken. The women working there started getting rude with me for bringing this to their attention. They pointed me to the back of the slip where they disclaim any liability for buttons, etc. I didn't know what to say so I just said to at least give me a refund. I was told no, that the sweaters were still dry cleaned and what I paid for was the cost of the labor. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. So no apology, no refund, no offer to replace the buttons, no customer service - just a garbage dump of dry cleaner that will never get my business again. read more

First time to Zips. The staff was rude, which I can put up with. However, when I got my silk dress back, I noticed a small thread pulled in the fabric. Also, in general, the dress did not look clean--still had deodrant marks, and was still slightly wrinkled. I wore the dress and part way through the day noticed that the the pull had turned into a very large tear in the fabric. My dress is ruined, and cannot be repaired. Will not be returning. read more

I have rusty looking stain in by back with many holes in same area. Monica, the store manager is worst of all. She is rude and ignorant. Doesn't know how to address a problem. One thing that I have realized (a little too late unfortunately) is that $1.75 dry cleaning is a great price, but with that comes POOR QUALITY and BAD BAD BAD customer service. There is a reason that its that cheap. I recently dropped off a Lacoste polo shirt for my husband that had a small stain on it. I asked them to remove that stain, but it didnt go away the first time around. They tried again to remove it, but it didnt go away the second time around either. With the third try, the stain did go away, however, the shirt SHRUNK by at least 1/3 the size. Even I couldnt wear the shirt now...thats how small it was! I told the acting store manager and he said that he'd discuss it with the main manager. He did point out to me that the label said "Dont dry clean", however, my husband has MANY Lacoste shirts that he has brought in over and over and there have never been any problems. They are defintely dry cleanable. Well, his manager never called me like she was supposed to. I stopped by the store 2 weeks later and he basically said "we concluded that this could not have happened by our dry cleaning. I said 'what do you mean?'" He couldnt even explain himself and I got the impression that he was blaming me?? I told hiim that the dry cleaners tag is still on the shirt and I brought it to back to him a couple of days after discovering the shirt was smaller. This is not the only bad incident. They do a poor job of removing any stains, small or big. They even lost a shirt of mine once and never paid me for it. When I was there last, I also heard another guy complaining b/c they lost his shirt too. The only reason that I go there is b/c of the price, but I realize now that its better to pay a little more, but at least be happy with the quality. They really dont care about customers at all...they are strictly trying to make a quick buck, but I will never give them my business again. If you want quality dry cleaning or at least your clothes not to be destroyed, AVOID ZIPS DRY CLEANING AT ALL COSTS. read more

They've lost my business. I brought in 3 winter coats last week and forgot to take out the pair of leather gloves that I always keep in the pockets of each coat (yes, 1 pair of gloves for each coat - no searching for gloves for me!). When I picked up the coats - the pockets were empty. (Previous instances of my absent-mindedness resulted in the cleaners handing me a bag with the gloves when I picked up the coats.) I called the store to inquire about the gloves' whereabouts - and was told to come in and lood thru their lost and found box (why do they need a lost and found box when they know where the "lost" items came from???). Went in and looked thru the box - none of my 3 sets of gloves were in there. When I insisted that they had been in the coats, the employee went back and said she looked at the film of when the coats were processed and didn't see anything being removed from the pockets. Well, that still doesn't explain where they disappeated to, although I suspect some Zips employee now has 3 sets of leather gloves with cashmere lining. I'm sure customers leaving things in their pockets is a common occurrence - just don't count on getting them back at this cleaners. read more
