Consistently poor service. I've asked multiple times for no starch on my dress shirts, yet they keep coming back stiff, over-pressed, and damaged--completely compromising the integrity of the fabric. My shirts literally sound like construction paper when you move them. When I raised the issue this morning employee told me, "There's no manager here, there's nothing I can do, and there's nothing the manager will do." They also overcharged me and instead of giving a refund offered a store credit - which I don't want. The worker was very dismissive, sassy and nasty in his responses. That says everything about their customer service. If a cleaner can't handle a simple request, or care enough to fix repeated mistakes, don't trust them with your clothes. Most of my friends go here so I decided to try it out. They offer dry cleaning and alteration services. The person that helped me didn't greet me when I approached and gave off a sullen vibe but he answered my questions well enough. He also threw the garment bag that I brought my clothes in onto a different register and it definitely would have been left there if I did not remember to pick it back up, although the nice clothes hangers that I hung the suits and dresses on are lost forever. Truly a flat rate - $2.79 per item, except shirts are $1.99. It could be as small as a sock or as large as a full dress, but it will cost $2.79. I had a dress that came in three parts and I was charged for each part. Notably the prices for alterations are left empty on the boards inside the store. Supposedly a quick turnaround. The pick up process is simple - you can hand them your receipt or tell them your phone number. I was told to come back in 24 hours, which I did. However, only 5/7 of my items were ready, and I was told to come back the next day. However, about 30 min after I left, I received a text that the rest of my items were ready for pick up. I can imagine it would be inconvenient/frustrating for those who do not live nearby to have to make two trips. I've had friends who have had to make multiple trips for alterations. Parking isn't the best around there so I took a Lyft, although per other reviews you can just hop out of your car real quick if needed. It hasn't seemed too busy in there and the staff are pretty efficient. Overall, pretty good service for the price. Just wish I didn't have to make multiple trips. read more

Overall, I have had a pretty good experience with this ZIPS location! The pricing per piece is standard (although it has gone up over the years), and I haven't had any issues with pickups on time. I usually just bring everything in a bag and they count the pieces (including separate parts of an outfit) and give you a receipt. I get a text when the order is dropped off and again when it is ready to pick up. The vibe isn't overly friendly, but definitely is efficient, so that's good. One week later we decided just to go back because we received NO call. I rarely need to use dry cleaning services but a wrinkled suit was a definite no-no for upcoming graduation photos. I turned the clothes in Saturday, they are closed on Sunday, and they said it would be ready by 5pm on Monday. I explained I needed to wear the outfit at 5PM on Monday in Washington DC, and the staff were so friendly to help me out to arrive around 3pm to pick up the order and head on down to the capital. I purchased gift cards as Christmas presents. The staff at the Washington Boulevard location didn't know how to redeem the cards. My family member was told that there was no more money left on the card (not true). Plus the staff member had a bad attitude. I used to come to this location before the pandemic, and I never had an issue. Now, thinking it was the same, I came back, got my clothes out of the store bags, and took them. The next day, I picked up good customer service. The guys even helped me with bringing my clothes to the car. To my surprise, after driving to NYC for a wedding, I found out that my husband's pants were missing and my dress was damaged. It's been over a week, and I am still waiting for a call. It's very frustrating. After damaging your clothes and losing one of your pieces, the least they could do is apologize and pay for what they have damaged and fail, yet there is no one to get in contact with. Probably the best price you can get on dry cleaning, but there's a pretty big trade off. Zips has done minor damage to a lot of my clothes. The primary issue is that they break a LOT of buttons and its not covered. I have largely let this pass but I recently needed my suit cleaned for a wedding and found the button the holds the jacket closed had been broken in half. Normally I don't inspect my dry cleaning to make sure that my clothes are still functional so I didn't notice until it was too late to have fixed. Zips really put me in a bind on that one. So the point is, you'll save money up front but between damage repair and the shorter longevity of your clothes the ultimate savings may be nil or worse. read more

I have had numerous positive experiences taking my dry cleaned clothes to Zips over the years living in Baltimore. It is easy to get in and out, they take a very quick time to register you by phone number and you pay at the time of drop off. They accept apple pay which makes it very convenient for me. there is a gentleman with long hair who works at the front who is very kind and courteous to me every time I drop off clothes too. The clothes are well taken care of, I have never had damaged items at Zips over the last 4 years I have taken suits and shirts to get dry cleaned there. I dont have any experience with the alterations, unfortunately. I will echo that parking is annoying here. It is on a very busy intersection it can be tough to walk across the street. Never Hire Someone Who has Nothing to Loose! I was physically threatened by an employee at ZIPS today! On Monday May 16th at around 3:30 pm I was verbally assaulted and physically threatened by an employee at the 1325 Eastern Avenue location in Baltimore, MD. As I was coming into the store, the employee at the cash register started laughing and looking at me said I was very disrespectful. I then asked why I was so disrespectful, and he said, "you just passed gas on us"! I was appalled by his lack of professionalism and his tone. I immediately let him know how rude it was to address a customer the way he just did. There is a Korean lady doing alteration at that location and she left the premises probably in fear that the situation could escalate to violence. As soon as she left the employee said "that's probably the mother fucker who did it (pointing fingers at the Korean lady). I then started dialing the manager's number while he was calling me a liar. They have poor attention to detail when cleaning and sometimes it looks like they hardly cleaned the items before receiving back - but for the price, I still go! If you're dry cleaning work dresses, it will cost $10+ at any other cleaner, so the frustration is worth it! Worst experience ever! Took shorts to have altered. Had to go there 4 times and none of the shorts were done correctly. Finally I asked for a refund, the manager Justin Downs told me I could receive a refund if the seamstress removed the alterations to the way I brought my shorts in. As you can see in the pictures, the seamstress cut holes in my shorts. That is not how I brought them in! I called Justin Downs again and he continued to argue with me stating how it's fine that there are now holes in my shorts. He refused to correct the problem that Zips created. Super convenient dry cleaners with fair prices. Fixed price per item for dry cleaning and quick service. I've been able to get in and out in a few minutes every time, and my clothes have always been ready on time. Haven't personally had any alterations done there! Parking can be inconvenient at times. They have a spot out front where you can park for a few minutes and nearby street parking where no one has ever bother me for parking a couple minutes. It is incredibly incompetent to keep sending receipts to the wrong person when the right person would probably like their receipts sent TO THEM. This cleaners is a rip off. After laundering shirts and burning the buttons they stated it was out of control. Now they have dry cleaned more than 12 shirts that have black dirt stains all around the collar and the owner said that is there oils from your skin and it should be like that. Even after advising the shirts have never looked like this at this cleaners or any other cleaners they have been taken to he said there is nothing he can do. The OWNER said you should spray shout on them before you bring them. So I should clean my clothes before I bring them to the cleaners is what the OWNER has stated. He refused to do anything about it and stated that's how shirts should be. When asked if these is how he does business he stated yes. So damaging your clothes and blaming on your skin is how he does business. If you want to protect your clothing from damage this is not the cleaners to use. I would stay far away from here. So now Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Suit Supply and many other highly expensive shirts are ruined because of trying to use a cleaners near the house. NEVER AGAIN. I wouldn't give them any stars if it gave the option. Took these same shirts to Mount Oak Cleaners our normal dry cleaner and they said oh no that is dirt and it's comes out. Overall, the staff here and the tailor (I've never used her services, so can't comment on the prices and her competency) are friendly. They have kept their promise of in by 9am, and out by 5pm to me without fail thus far. They do the dry cleaning on site. The location is brightly lit and fairly clean. I've noticed this place from their huge sign and distinctive logo in this location for a while but never stopped in until very recently. I was over in that part of town on my way to Fell's and figured I may as well give them a shot. I brought in my favorite Jacket and pointed out to them where it had some stains and whatnot. Within a few moments I was in and out and paid $2.99 to have it cleaned which is much cheaper than I expected. During pickup things were pretty easy and straight-forward and I had no problem dealing with the staff or check-out process.
