I had the privilege of meeting Serene referred to me by beautiful friend Ericka who works at ZO. All the girls are great and everyone is so graciously welcoming. I met Serene for Botox and filler. She addressed my concerns and she went above and beyond to make me feel as youthful as I can. I asked her what areas she sees that can benefit with filler. Her expertise advice directed me to doing all she recommended. I honestly have been getting Botox and filler for over 20 years and I have never been happier than I am now seeing Serene. The worst decision I could have ever made was to choose Zo Obagi skin center and Serene Obagi (Missobagi) with aesthetic treatments. She caused irreversible damage (2nd and 3rd degree burns with nerve damage and an infection ) on my face on September 18th of last year. It's left me in chronic debilitating pain and I want to warn others by sharing my horrific experience. I return to those moments everyday for the last five months wishing I could go back in time when my intuition was telling me that something was off with this provider. It was a busy afternoon during my scheduled appointment and I was sitting in the waiting room with numbing cream on. Serene came out of a treatment room with another client and saw me. She says, "What is that white stuff all over your face?" I was confused as to why she would ask this...The receptionist, nurse (who applied my cream) all seemed just as confused to this question as I was. We all answered back that it is numbing cream. That was one of the red flags that concerned me. I should have never put myself in a vulnerable position and trust her with my skin and health under a laser. She improperly used this equipment and I not only was severely burned, but I also got an infection at this clinic. You can see the grid like marks of scarring imprinted where the laser went over my skin. Serene does not deserve to have a title of a nurse or be licensed within the medical community after the harm she has caused to me. She had every opportunity to work with integrity and be honest, and instead took no responsibility for her actions. Don't let her name fool you like it did me. I have been going to ZO for about 2 years now and have been meaning to write a review. I had always been someone who took care of my skin but as life got busy I kept putting things on the back burner but I was now in my 50's and could not expect genetics to save me. At my first appointment I was looking for fast results, Mallory recommended the stem cell facial and products that would support my goals. Ridiculous! The only reason I give even 2 stars is because the facility was lovely, ambience great, receptionist very nice. Period. I went in for a very simple skin issue. I had little breakouts ( congested pores) in some areas of my face. No big deal really, but since I'm used to having pretty clear skin, it was enough for me to want to get rid of it. I won't mention names- but the person that saw me, although nice as a person, ended up really trying to sell me on all their products that I supposedly would benefit from. Mind you, I just got looked at, not even under any special light to determine what the underlying issue is, just ...a peek! Enough for them to show me a full page of "action plan" for my skin, including Accutane! Low dose or not, worketh or not, that's extreme for someone with normal skin. PLUS all the other Obagi products. Really?? Normally, a legit dermatologist would simply recommend a basic PEEL for this kind of issue. Done. I ended up suggesting/ asking for nitrogen facial which has helped in the past at other dermatologist office. After the sale pitch didn't work, they obliged. And that was that. Waste of time and money. Obagi Center just wants to sell their products, maybe it is good maybe it isn't I don't know- don't care to find out. I've tried their retinol and it didn't do anything great to my skin.Irregardless, that's not the first thing I should be getting offered before ANY actual hands on treatment. I thought the staff was knowledge there, but after coming to visit Dr. Rosen I was pleasantly surprised by how thorough he explained the products I was using! Apparently I had been using my products incorrectly.. He has a great personality and made me feel completely comfortable even though my face looked all shit all broken out! Also the views in the office are absolutely gorgeous! Emily the assistant was equally great! She lathered me up with the numbing cream & had a laid back attitude as well! I inquired on Nov. 27, 2018th, they responded back to me on December 20 2018. I finally had a schedule, and then on the day and time of my appointment an hour prior, they called me to say that their Aesthetician called in sick and no one was gonna do my facial. Offered me instead a 50 usd off on my facial rescheduled the next day. as a new client you have a 15% off discount. But upon paying, they only told me that i get the 50 usd off because their aesthetician didnt go to work, that was not my fault. how about my time? i took an effort to block my schedule for that day.. but i had the patience and understanding to accept that their staff was sick. But why waved my 15% discount i am entitled with as a new client just because they gave me a discount which I didn't ask for? And i was charged 100 usd for booking an appointment just to see Dr. Obagi, the 100usd will either go to the procedure you'll be doing or you'll have to pay more for the consultation cause you're paying for DR. I got a 400$ consultation with Dr.Obagi. His hands smelled like cigarettes when he touched my face. He didn't make me feel comfortable. On top of everything, the products did not work for me and I was not allow me to return them. I came to Dr. Obagi when I was seventeen for acne. He was referred to me by my boyfriends family. I went to the Beverly Hills office. Dr. Obagi is a chemist so his products really attack the issue. I have very oily skin and the T-pads completely control it. I was put on Accutaine and my skin was cleared! My forehead was smooth and the texture of my skin was very soft. For the first 6 weeks, your face does peel and get red, but after the 6 weeks.. I couldn't ask for better results. Also.. His offices are very well kept and every staff member is helpful. Parking is a little bit of an issue at the Laguna Hills location. Also, I would recommend anyone with acne to try and work with Dr. Obagi. It can be pricey but to have beautiful skin is worth it and I get so many compliments. I had gone to Dr. Rispler before. He has radio adds and even billboards.. He was horrible! He came in to the room I was in and injected my face without me even knowing.. My point is, Dr. Obagi takes his time and explains his products. I just had my first experience at Obagi with Ana Schissler. I am very particular on who touches my skin and what offices I choose to go to and I have to say that this experience blew me away! If I could give 6 stars I would have! Not only was the office gorgeous (right on the beach in Laguna!) but my first hydrofacial experience has changed me forever. All I'm going to say is that this place is a scam. Scam!!!! Unfortunately I got scammed and botched and paid for bunch of services that were never performed. They are now saying I paid for only one treatment when I spent $1500 and was told I'm purchasing a series. They say the dr is no longer with the practice and refuse to refund the unused portion of my treatment. Do not get scammed by these ppl. They're all about the $$$ no one will listen. I will now have to take legal action to try to recover my money. Procedures are a scam as well. Promises are made no results. Unfortunately oc is proving to be poor on healthcare. I will go to nv to get better treatment services. They really messed up my skin and tissue. I was told by an outside Dr when i had a consult that my skin and tissue is now distorted and impossible to receive the treatment that I should have received in the first place but never did. They are the only ones I trust for facials, my skin has improved massively since I started using all the Obagi products and getting monthly facials from them. Like I mentioned in my other review, the doctor is kind, compassionate, and very understanding. He is articulate and professional and I find myself not only being super happy with the care he gives me- each time I see him I come out a more educated patient. I am a doctor myself and I am highly critical of doctors but he is exceptional. This office is so beautiful and the staff very very helpful and friendly. Voluma Filler for my Face instead of Botox! AMAZING Results I was not Expecting! I recently went to see Dr. Bashey in Laguna Beach as the holidays are approaching and needed to get some Botox. I have received botox in the past and am familiar with it. I am in my mid-fifties and figured this was what I definitely needed. Dr. Bashey didn't just look at me and give me what I came in for, he sat down and really looked at my face, then went over different areas that could use help. Dr. Bashey is articulate and ended up injecting filler into my upper cheek area as well as Xeomon into my forehead. The filler ended up very naturally lifting my cheeks and face and also will last me he said up to 18 months or longer. I am extremely happy with my results and very thankful he took time with me to evaluate my needs. Dr. Bashey is extremely polite and made me feel comfortable with consulting before doing anything. His precision and care really proves what an expert he is in this field. I would highly recommend him to my friends and family. I don't write a review often, but I felt it necessary to inform others about my experience. I was looking for a good skin care line and felt that ZO was going to be the answer. Initially, I experienced the redness and dryness that many go through when they first start the process. As my skin adjusted and I started to see results, I was actually extremely pleased. I entered what they call the "maintenance" phase and immediately my skin changed. My dark spots reappeared and my skin texture changed. Additionally, I started to develop acne which has not happened in over 15 years. I was told that I needed to go back to the products that caused redness and dryness in order to remove the spots again and the acne was blamed on hormones which I found odd since nothing changed but the product I was using. I did not want to be red and dry again since I persevered through 8 months of this dry peely stage. I wanted the porcelain, tight skin I was promised. However, I was a year and a few months into using ZO product and my skin was not beautiful or porcelain looking. It was not pretty. In fact, my skin tone is red. I honestly don't even know what color my skin tone is anymore because I have been red for so long. I know there are some people that see great results with the product as I have seen it in person and it is beautiful, healthy looking skin. I just don't believe that this skin care program will work for everyone. It definitely does not work for me. It actually made my skin worse in my opinion. I am finally done with giving my skin time to adjust to the ZO product (I think over a year is sufficient) and I am moving on to another skin care program. The downside is I have so much product (still in boxes) that I will not use and ZO refuses to return for me because it's past the 7 day return policy (it's been about 14 days). Definitely a disappointing (and expensive) experience. Hope this review will help someone that is on the fence about trying the skin care line. read more
