We felt mixed feelings about our meal. While many of the dishes were alright, it was not worth the money. I would say that there are better places to check out in Denver. This spot was almost empty at dinner time on a Friday. Tortilla soup 5/10. Pasole 5.5/10 Salad was very plain and basic 4/10. The desserts were alright but nothing to write home about, the chocolate mousse was a 6/10. The staff was friendly and the food came out alright for the most part. The fish I had was pretty small, four bites of fish and was not something I would get again 4/10.

Loved it so much I already went back! This time I tried the pozole which was warm and hearty. The caramel banana crepes were out of this world delicious. The service and beautiful modern yet culturally rich atmosphere still does not disappoint. I want to convince Zopalito to expand to Texas!

I happen to be in Denver for a convention, and I had a craving for Mexican food. First of all, Matt the waiter was terrific. Friendly, helpful, and attentive. You can't get any better. Granted, the restaurant was relatively empty on a Thursday night, so he wasn't terribly distracted. However, the food was outstanding as well. I started with the Cuban black bean soup, which was excellent. Had plenty of complex flavors and a portion of sliced guacamole on top. I practically licked the bowl. Then I have the beef tenderloin, which was served with potatoes au gratin and a sweet/savory corn mixture that was delicious with the potatoes. It was served with green sauce on top of the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly. It was delicious piece of beef. For dessert they had a fantastic selection. I picked one they call caramel - banana crêpes.. I picked this because I had a craving for bananas, even though supposedly the chocolate mousse is their specialty. It was covered in caramel and chocolate sauce, and had a large number of walnuts on top, with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream as well. I thought it was a bit sweet, and in retrospect I should've gotten the mousse. I ordered coffee and Matt made a pot of regular just for me, although they don't have milk, only cream, which is a mortal sin, considering I'm from New Jersey. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for Mexican food, but not the typical Tex-Mex stuff you get at most restaurants.

Want REAL Latin flavors?? Come here! This is the first true Latin restaurant I've been able to find in the Denver area. The food was outstanding!! Things are hot here so keep that in mind if you're not into that. I got medium and it was "hot" to me but still had great flavor.

Very good food, nice blend of spices and flavors. Lacking in ambiance, unfortunately. Could be due to time of day or location in CBD.

After reading other reviews and checking out photos beforehand, I knew the Colorado lamb was a must-order. It's not something I usually go for, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Absolutely worth the hype. We also ordered the birria short rib and hickory smoked picanha, and both were solid choices. The shrimp and corn grits were amazing, and I really loved the aged cheddar mac and cheese. Other dishes like the chickpea croquettes and the chili relleno were also pretty good and rounded out the meal nicely. The wait staff was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself has a cool, lively vibe. The only minor downside was that the outdoor heaters were a bit too hot, but that's a very small nitpick. Overall, an easy 5 out of 5 stars. Great food, great service, and a place I'd happily come back to.

So, we decided to take him for a relaxing evening for some "home cooking;" his dad is from Colombia. I'd driven by this place for years, always thought it was cute, but never had been in to try it out. Well, the inside is even cuter than the curbside! We were quickly greeted and shown to a table. It was around 8 on a Friday night. The service was just what my friend's dad needed, joking around in Spanish and answering random questions that an older person might have when seeing food they grew up with and hadn't seen in a while... and, then, the food. I'm not familiar with Colombian cuisine, so I wanted to try something traditional. The presentation was sizable and I really like color on a plate. Then, it was flavorful and filling?! YUM. We walked out of the experience laughing and purely delighted at having had a great night in sharing a unique experience. Strongly suggest folks swinging through, when you're in the neighborhood... or, give yourself a special occasion and make a trip!

I would love to try one of their platters.

The food came out a little fast in the beginning (we prefer to take our time) and we definitely missed any guidance about how the flag was supposed to be used, so that would be the only thing I'd change about the evening. We shared two desserts--the Media Luna de Limon for our friend who is gf and df, and the rest of us shared the brownie with coffee ice cream which was incredible--warm and just the right size if you want just 1-2 bites (between three of us) of something sweet.
