I just return to this place for the nostalgia. I've been visiting since I was a kid, even though I didn't live in the area. My friends' mom would bring us on hours long roadtrips to her favorite childhood haunts hoping to make them our own, which we did as adults. I still don't know what any other flavor but Smurf tastes like. It's honestly not my favorite flavor of ice cream as an adult, but it was back in the day, and I relish it for the memories it resurrects. Unfortunately, my friends have passed. Honestly this place is bit sad considering it's in bad location you think would good since it on a main road, plus with decaying stuff in back. The guy here was very nice and friendly hope he gets more business with summer coming up, got a small sundae with cake batter ice cream and honestly was pretty good, only got a small since wanted ice cream but not oding on it. As this place is now under new ownership, I decided to update my review. 4 stars for the same ice cream and homemade waffle cones - the old owners passed along the recipes! Thank goodness! I'm hopeful that the new owners are able to breathe a bit of fresh air into the place, because I think it'll be needed to compete in the area. Inside isn't dirty, but it's very dated - the few tables and chairs in the back are old and chipped/peeling. The parking lot looks rough and could use a fresh paving, and the area where mini golf used to be is unkept and overgrown. It would be nice if that area could be cleaned up and renovated into some shaded seating for hot, sunny days! I'd love to see Blueberry Mountain succeed and stay around for a real long time - their ice cream is a treat I grew up enjoying, and now we get to share it with our daughter :) The new owners are friendly and helpful, and I still heartily recommend this spot, even if there's some room for improvement. read more

My husband and I took our grandchildren here all season to try to have each flavor. Never had a bad flavor and enjoyed trying all the flavors. While visiting friends, we stopped in here because were big fans of homemade ice cream. And definitely have had some of the most amazing ice cream at small shops like this one. The first scoop I had was the smurf ice cream, which was blue raspberry flavored with marshmallows in it. FANTASTIC. After I tried a scoop of peanut butter and chocolate with a scoop of banana ice cream. Not as good as the smurf but still good. If you happen to be in the neighborhood it's worth stopping in. I am so confused by this business listing. I go up to quaint little Cornwall on the Hudson for a friend's 4th of July bbq, and down in town there is a street fair with craft booths and fried dough and fried twinkies (God strike me down with a heart attack, but they were delicious), popcorn, hot dogs and other similar summer festival food. I went for a ride to the Middletown mall and decided that I would take a run over to Blueberry Mountain to try out the mini golf. The golf course itself is small and basic. There is no theme to the course and the holes are all made out of wood frames. The golf course was clean, with the exception to the last hole that had water drainage from the air conditioners/freezers running onto it. The main reason that you go here is for the ice cream. I found the ice cream very creamy and well worth the stop. There was a very large selection of ice creams in the case and they were all well stocked. The only warning I will give is that there is no bathroom. (NY does not require public restrooms like in NJ) There is a portable toilet outside by the golf course if you really need to go. read more

Blueberry Mountain is a solid four stars if you're coming for the ice cream--nice variety of homemade flavors and even some homemade cones. I got the chocolate coconut ice cream; the serving size was generous and it had a rich, creamy quality to it. However, find somewhere else to scratch your miniature golf itch. While it's cheap enough to play, the course badly needs maintenance. You spend as much time playing the challenge of warped plywood as you do any intentional challenges. I would definitely make multiple trips back to try more flavors of ice cream, though! read more

Just went here over the weekend for another visit, last time I was here could be 6 or 7 years ago. I honestly could not believe what a letdown it was. The small entertainment section on the property is apparently not in operation any,longer. The parlor itself was basically empty, no chairs, no displays, no anything. Just a bare room, not very clean, with a large glass row of ice cream, which had freezer burn((at least flavor I had). There are some bird-pooped tables outside, and a few garbage cans, and a port-a-potty so I guess that's something.
