Tried this place after several people recommended it to me. Burgers are good, but I was expecting better. The ambiance is not welcoming, dining area is marked off with yellow tape, so there is No where to sit. It gives off very much take your food and go vibe, which was disappointing as my friend and I were looking to dine in. Customer service is lacking. Onion rings were mediocre at best. If you want ranch to go with them, there is a $1.50 charge. Fries are nothing special. I'd go again for a burger only I would want to enjoy at home. I paid $20 for the food shown. read more

I had been craving a tuna sandwich and remembered how much I used to love getting them from Zogos back in the day (late 90s - early 2000s). So my boyfriend and I drove from Bellflower to SG just for that sandwich. It was raining and the drive thru looked busy, but it was moving fast. My boyfriend does not like waiting in drive thrus, so we went inside to order, we noticed the indoor eating area was closed. We ordered and decided to eat in the car, which I honestly enjoy because it reminds me of being younger and eating in the car when you had nowhere to go. I got the tuna sandwich special which comes with fries and a drink, he got the tuna melt special, and we shared some onion rings. Our 'to go' orders were packed neatly and came with thousand island for the fries and even the yellow chilies my boyfriend loves. Everything was tasty and the service was quick! I love the Zogo french fries! They are always cooked just enough to be crunchy but soft on the inside and that little red salt seasoning on them. I usually order the Avocado Bacon Burger and it always hits the spot. Since this place is closer to me than In n Out I come here often, closer and the drive thru isn't bad. The service is quick and friendly and the food always fresh. I can easily compare this burger to an In n Out or Shake Shack burger, definitely one of my favorite burger spots. As a french-fry lover I have to say, In n Out fries suck and I never order them! They taste like cardboard but these fries are top favorite. read more

Overall I had no real complaints about this place. The prices are decent when compared to other similar places. They have a Family Pack for $31 which isn't bad. Chili Cheese Fries were $8.50, other places charge $10 easily. The burgers are a good size and the fries are good. The only downside is there is no dining area. Everything is to go. We ordered pick up of two burger combos on 10.20.24 and that is the last time we will be eating from Zogos in South Gate. It is sad that this place fell off. This is a wonderful little hole in the wall mom and pop burger place. I've been coming here for 6 years and food has always been consistently fresh and delicious. I've tried so many dishes, it's hard to name them all. My favorite is the fish burger. Huge burger with giant fried fish patty and stuffed with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. It could pass for a gourmet burger if it was sold at another fancy looking establishment. My husband and sister love the bacon cheese burgers. Also huge in portions and nice and juicy. Fries are good, chili cheese fries even better. Many of their sauces are homemade. I've tried their chicken dinner, and the meat is so tender and juicy. I've also tried their shrimp dinner, and the fried shrimps are huge and satisfying. As for customer service, it's unfortunate there are so many bad reviews on this. As an Asian, I can understand culturally. The ladies are actually Korean, and the culture can be more stoic at times. I do think they mean well and I've seen them sometimes go Asian tiger mom on their young Mexican staff, telling them to work harder in school so that they do better in life. The Mexican chefs even call them their aunties. To me that sounds like good people, even though they may not match the American standards of smiling all the time in hospitality. Also, I don't think these ladies ever take a break. I've seen them here every day of the week. And I believe they're open on all holidays if not most. Talk about working hard for the American dream. Prices are fair, especially in the middle of a pandemic and especially for a little mom and pop shop that can't compete in terms of prices with big chain restaurants. I'm glad they've managed to survive for so many decades. Their hard work and consistent good food must help them survive. I do think time and consistency and good food speak for themselves. I think prices need to change with inflation and the times, otherwise a little mom and pop shop won't survive. Service is subjective to the individual, especially if one doesn't understand the culture. Give Zogos a shot; you won't be disappointed if good food is your priority. read more

I really need to come here more often! Ran out of ketchup at home and was so stoked to see several packets of ketchup & yellow peppers in my bag without having asked for them. This really sets local businesses apart from big franchises because I wouldn't have been this lucky. Service is a 10/10. Beware.... I asked for extra pickles and onions and they charge for them but they don't give them to you. They don't give you a receipt so when you tell them there's no way you can prove it. The owner is very clever charging for extra items and then doesn't give them to you. The owner seems very rude but it could just be her culture. I ordered a cheeseburger combo and it came with a drink the cheeseburger the fries and a side of salad and a side of thousand Island all this for less than $10! I also ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo for my fiancé and he also loved it. The cheeseburger is really big and really delicious the fries were hot and tasty and the salad was crisp and the thousand island was also A+! They have a drive-through so that was very convenient and when I pulled up to the window the workers are very friendly. I am definitely going back to try some other items on their menu! read more

I'm a little biased on this one considering I've been coming here since the late 90's. Every one of us has a place or two, even three that we grew up on. This is one of those for me but I'm also honest when I say that it's been very good for so many years. The prices are very good for today's economic times. 6 bucks get you a cheeseburger special with a small salad. The customer service here can sometimes be lacking but its never bad service. There is no beverage station outside and refills are not free. Zogos has a drive thru but I honestly would not recommend it, it's on the slow side. That being said the food is awesome, the consistency is awesome, and the same 2 owners have been here since I 1st came here 2 decades ago. Really good people serving up really good food. read more

Let me just start out by saying I been going to this place for years. I gave it 5 stars for the reason that it never disappoints and I realize that it does not compete with other high end places. I remember coming here as a kid and I would get a J.r Burger special for 2.50. It came with a soda, fries, salad and kid size burger. It was cheap, filling and delicious. Years later and now I usually get the Burger special that comes with all that I listed just with an adult size burger and it's still great. The burger is well cooked and consists of fresh lettuce and tomato slices. The fries are fried to perfection and their enough for two people. The side salad is a nice touch and it covered with home made 1000 island dressing. Drink wise I always need a refill which is only 50 cents extra. You get all of this for less than 5.00 dollars. I also get the fish dinner which comes with three big pieces of fried fish, fries, big salad, toasted bread and onion rings. All of this for 7.00 dollars. The only down side to this place is the restaurant itself . It's old, has wooden chairs and tables that are all tagged up and the restroom is a pretty scary place. If you just ignore all of this or take it to go you won't be disappointed. And remember their famous saying "with everything on it?What kind of soda?" ......I wonder if someone ever interrupted her mid way her saying and said "No, I don't want everything on it" read more
