I visited here on a Wednesday night and everything was above expectations.. The drinks were amazing and the food was everything. We had the pork chops and rice and also the chicken Alfredo. It was by chance that we tried Zona & I'm happy that we did! First of all the place is super cute! It was dreary rainy day but when we stepped into Zona I felt like I was on vacation. I ordered this late at night right before closing, (yes I know a sin) and was still treated with fantastic service and even better food! I got the fajitas and the beef was seasoned to perfection. I'm moaning just thinking about it. Their mango juice is one of my favorites that I've tasted and their mango smoothie is worth it all. Their empanadas were authentic and hit home with my boyfriend. First, the music is way too loud. I was so uncomfortable with the sound that I could not even enjoy my food nor the company of my guests'. I asked if they could turn the music down slightly, but they claimed to not be able to. If you have any young children or hearing sensitivities, don't bother going here. My taco order was repeatedly messed up. First with corn tortillas instead of flour as I requested then with salsa brought to me instead of the sour cream I asked for. The waitress rarely checked up on us, leaving us to hunt her down multiple times. The waitress also completely forgot to put my order for monfongo. i was forced to reorder after the rest of my table had eaten. After that, I was told they couldn't even make my order vegetarian. I ordered from here on DoorDash and it was horrible! I ordered the griot and asked for little fat and well done. I got only four pieces of griot and all fat pieces. The rice was old and hard and smelled rancid. I also ordered the jerk wings which were cold and caked up with a dry rub that tasted NOTHING like jerk. I went to this restaurant with a friend. It was during the early evening around 6:30p during COVID-19. There wasn't much of a crowd at the time. This place has a bar/lounge feel to it. I ordered the salmon w/ mixed veggies and my friend had the fajitas. I ordered a rum coke and my friend order a mojito with an order of jerk egg rolls as appetizers. The jerk egg rolls was really good and they had plenty of heat. I personally don't like a lot of heat so be prepared for heat if you order. My rum and coke wasn't as strong as I would have like it to be, it was actually watered down. My friend mojito was ok. Be prepared to pay club prices of $10 for a drink, which I think is too much for a simple rum and coke at 7p in Duluth. The food took a little longer than expected seeing the size of the crowd but it wasn't a big deal. My food was really good. The Salomon was sears really well and the veggies was seasoned well. The fajitas was good as well. The bad part there was an 18% gratuity automatically added to our check of two. Which I think is distasteful. The price was reasonable for the meal. Over all I would recommend the place but I would advise to check your bill for added gratuity in the total and drink before you go because the drink are a little pricey and not that strong. read more

Dude!!!!! The Oxtail was so freaking good!!! The brown sauce for the oxtail was divine!!! The pinto beans were so flavorful and the rice was so fluffy, reminded me of my grandmas cooking. I ordered the Rum Punch & Guava Mojito, soooo delicious!!! The drinks had a good amount of alcohol and my server Jonahira was AWESOME! Food wasn't bad, but some parts could have been better. We order the paella, which was 35 and had imitation crab. That's disappointing big time! For 35 dollars all your seafood should be REAL. The Rollo's Primaveral jerk chicken Rolls was really good and we also enjoyed the cachapas venezolanas. They really need to fix the seafood in the paella though. Our bill came out to be over 50 which meant they charged us 18% tip. I personally tend to tip high anyway, but don't like having that much be automatically taken out. read more

I been the Zona three times now and each time it's been excellent. Number 1, the drinks are great and responsibly priced. Second, the food! Spent $120 for four, we did not enjoy the meal. Shrimp empanadas tasted really bad it was fried with old oil, 2 person paella cost $55 comes with one lobster that is completely freezer burned. Lobster meat was totally dry it was there just for show. Jumbo fried shrimp platter had 9 pieces of shrimp, and I would not call it jumbo. The Crab empanadas are good, comes with a spicy sauce. The shrimp/crab fettuccine was amazing, haven't had fettuccine that good in years although not sure this actually had crab in it, never saw any but nonetheless I loved it, it had 8 nice size shrimp it as well. I also got the shrimp creole style appetizer, comes with white rice, which seem to be buttered white rice, not sure but it tasted good by itself. Definitely will be ordering again. read more

This place was clean and covid friendly. The bar tender was kind and conversational! I wanted oxtail and beef patty pie. WELP.. the oxtail was not good , no flavor and extremely tough, the salad only had one dressing it was not good, no other options . I could have had italian or lemon garlic oil or something on that fresh lettuce. The drinks were good , which that is what we should have had only. The menu was so much you would think they specialized in great tasting food .
