When you come into this place you can feel the classic Cuba style and if you walk to the outdoor part you can feel the modern and colorful Cuba Menu: reasonable price and very creative plates names, but if I go to a Cuban place beside the famous "Sandwich Cubano" I wish to found more interesting Cuban gastronomic option like "frituritas de malanga con miel", "arroz congri", "fricasé de cerdo", "moros con Cristianos".... My visit it was on Sat. Sept 7, for "brunch" which is not a brunch at all "because we are new, the menu is the same than regular menu". They have 9 main course and I only saw 2 more likely Cuban options. 4 "bread" - sandwich , 1. Egg and 2 salmon! I'm no complaining about this food quality because the sandwich was delicious, also the "Ropa Vieja" it was really good, but I wished to found more Cuban options. Food presentation: excellent! Staff: friendly, well dressed (be careful with the careless hairstyle on waitress)! Manager excellent attention!. This place has good team! Drinks: it was good! Pay attention to details! Food are serve with details that make you feel you are in Cuba! So keep up this standard in the bar too (Caña, Hoja de Menta, and other garnish). Dress code: I'm 100% agree with dress code for this types of places when is applicable to all customers! I saw that Saturday (sports wear, snickers, tank top). Don't let the rules goes down! Just went there last night for my birthday (just my wife and I) and honestly the place and atmosphere was wonderful. We ate outside and the rooftop is a great place to hang out. The service was excellent and the drinks were really good but the food was mediocre at best. I really enjoyed being there UNTIL we got the bill! **They automatically add gratuity for ALL bills- and then they have the audacity to add a suggested tip on TOP of the gratuity they are already forcing you to pay AND then they add an additional charge to pay with credit card!! This is ridiculous. I will never visit this restaurant again because this is wrong. read more

The location is in an area of the BX that's close to the courts but you can tell that the economic situation of the neighborhood is not the best.... The food in this place is a bit over priced for a Bronx location/Cuban food But it is no different from the cost of dinning at Calle ocho. The only difference is that the food at zona de Cuba is a lot better, so is the ambience, then Calle ocho but Calle ocho has a better location. Overall the staff is very friendly, a bit slow ( which could test your patience), but the live music makes up for the wait time. What a joy to see my old run down neighborhood in the Bronx slowly transforming for the good with beautiful restaurants like this on top of the legendary post office. The restaurant offers valet parking which is located towards the back of the building. The entire staff from the young respectable valet gentlemen, host and waitresses was extremely professional and attentive. The roof top has spectacular views of the Bronx and Manhattan and a nice touch with the palm trees. Makes you feel like you're not in the South Bronx. Before you leave you have to take a picture of the half car located in the center of the restaurant. They also have a live band that perform on schedule dates. So came here with my girls for brunch. Service was slow, our waitress was nice. But we had to ask for plates, and water. My friend ordered the Salmon which literally came out 2-3 minutes after she ordered it (makes me wonder if it was just microwaved) and everyone else got the chicken breast with rice and black beans. Then when everyone received their plate then they took forever for the salmon plate. The waitress was nice but I feel like she barely came to check in on us. The live music was good. The decor and ambiance is wonderful. The plates were all 2/5, didn't really have that Spanish taste, being Hispanic, it was bland and tasteless, the pastelitos though were good. The ceviche had corn, what ceviche has that? My friends rate it about 1/5. My friends chicken was undercooked. Overall 2/5. This restaurant has A LOT of potential. I came here to celebrate my parents 45th wedding anniversary and honestly, I should have gone to another restaurant. Our reservations were for 9pm and we did not receive our food until 11:16pm.. why? The food is mediocre. I really wanted to give this place a chance, but I was not impressed whatsoever. The restaurant is beautiful, but I will not be back. They had live music which was good and that made up for us having a reservation and still having to wait. The food in my opinion is overpriced $18 for 3 empanadas is too much but the portion sizes are good. The views are breathtaking, I felt like I was in Cuba. The server was okay although he forgot one order which we had to wait for so we all could eat together. The ropa vieja here is everything! Love the ambiance and fun vibes especially in the summer with their rooftop/outdoor seating. Service is not the best but definitely not the worst. We had a reservation for 6:30 and were taken up the elevator around 6:10-6:15. We were greeted by nice decorations and great views (as good as it's going to get, but not too bad if you're from the Bronx ). The food was amazing and the drinks were top notch. If you go, try the "Doctora Henny Coco", brings bougie Piña Colada vibes. I however do not recommend the Watermelon Frizao, it's not sweet but more sour. For the food I ordered the "Muerdeme mia Masitas", which is just chicharron or fried pork chunks and when I tell you it was packed with flavor and crisp?! We had to order another round. Great spot! You can tell that a lot of thought was invested into the decor. It's a nice wide space with plenty of seating. Luckily I made reservations because it fills up quickly. We were seated outdoors and the waiter promptly greeted us. The menu has fun, cheeky names for its dishes and drinks. We split the "El Fufu Relleno" to start and it it was really good. I had the "Fritas y Ricas Mis Chuletas" as my main dish, and while the taste was good, the meat itself was a bit tough. The sides were delicious, however. I had the "Cómele La Flor Al Melon" cocktail and it was tasty but it was pretty small. And they are pretty pricey, I suggest to split a bottle of wine for a better value. I took a star off because the elevator is a pain in the ass and it's the only way to access the restaurant. Other than that, I love the ambiance. The place itself is gorgeous, when you step out of the elevator it literally feels like you're no longer in the Bronx. We started off with passion fruit mojito pitchers. They were very natural tasting and had the perfect amount of alcohol. My bf & I started with the calamari, it did not disappoint it was perfectly crispy and the accompanying sauces were to die for! I then had the skirt steak with yuca fries it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also tried my bfs ropa vieja with morro negro and maduros it was also delicious. I would definitely recommend those two entrees, the portions were also very generous. It is on the pricier side you can say but it is worth every penny. Just so you get an idea our bill was close to $1000 including gratuity and we got like 6 pitchers, 10+ appetizers, and everyone got an entree. I have come to this place many times and I must say all the times I have gone it has been a good experience. I went most recently on Monday for dinner. We had two appetizers to start he had the calamari which was not good at all. It was soggy and when I asked the lady she said we would have to speak to the manager to return it. My skirt steak was over cooked I told her medium well but it was well done. It made the meat dry but the shrimps were tasty. The rice was also very good. The drinks I had were also good. I had the pineapple drink which I was good and I had the coconut mojito. I did want the tamarind drink but they had no tamarind. There were a couple of items they did. It have to make drinks. The service was good; the waitress would check on us and we were not rushed. They also started playing live music. We sat outside and the sun was coming down it was the perfect view. The chef and the person who makes the drink menu took the time to check in on us and even explained how they came up with the names of the menu items for the restaurant. We ordered a round of drinks and one of my friends was not a fan of the flavor profiles, so they provided them with a replacement - no questions asked. This review is based completely on the fact that there is a pandemic but you wouldn't know it by coming here. They took temperatures as you came in but big deal. You can have covid without symptoms. Once upstairs the place is packed. No social distancing. People dancing without masks on. Tables on top of each other. Groups of more than 10 people. This is extremely irresponsible. Luckily my group of 5 got seated in a separate area far away from the crowd or I would have left. Oh and you have to have reservations but that doesn't seem to matter either. Our reservation was for 530, we didn't get seated til 640pm. Hope they wise up and realize people's health is more important than their money. read more
