Due to all the positive reviews, I want to start by saying that I will attempt to give this place another chance and order some recommended dishes off the menu next time and update my review as necessary. Driven past this place for over a year and will never do so again! Went here with a coworker who's husband is Colombian for carryout and it was AMAZING. I got the beef, chicken, and cheese empanadas and they were spot on. The aji salsa that came with them was very flavorful and complemented them nicely. Fantastic food, very authentically Colombian! My buddy and I both had a "Bandeja Paisa" - a VERY generously-portioned combo dish of carne asada (grilled flat-iron steak), chicharrón (fried pork belly), white rice, red beans, maduros (fried sweet plantains), a fried egg, 1/4 fresh avocado, and a small arepa (cornmeal biscuit). Besides the generosity of the portion size - which totally adds to the authenticity of the dish - the quality and flavor of the foods are spot on! Can't beat that for $12.50. My only criticism was the speed of service. The restaurant is not huge - maybe 15 tables, most of them 4-tops or booths. However, there was only one person tending to the entire restaurant: seating, taking orders, running drinks & food, busing, and also handling front-of-house cashier duties. Poor guy worked his tail off, and managed to get everyone their food and drinks accurately, so just bring your Patient Pants. Everyone in the restaurant ordered one of a variety of fresh fruit juices, which looked delicious as the waiter made his rounds with drinks. I felt kinda silly as the only person who ordered a "Colombiana", Colombia's version of red cream soda. I'll definitely be back to try some of their stews (Ajiaco, Mondongo, Sancocho), stuffed arepas, and definitely one of those juices. read more

After browsing Yelp to find something new on the way to the grocery jungle, we decided to try out Colombian food. Everything we tried was very good. We had the mazorca desgranda which was excellent although I will agree with another reviewer that it is a bit greasy, beef empanadas which had a lot of flavor, and our favorite was the chicken bacon arepa - very flavorful and unique. Overall this was a good new stop for us as we didn't know what to expect. The food was good, although a bit blander than I was expecting (but this is my first time with Colombian food). read more

Oh man. First time having Colombian food... and we loved it! My date got one of the soups, and it was flavorful, hearty, and big! If you went back in March/April give them another shot. My wife and I went when they first opened and the order took literally over an hour to get our food, which was delicious. My wife was absolutely determined never to go back but it was good enough that I gave them another shot on my own. Their issues with cooking time have been ironed out and it took less than ten minutes to get my order. It's still very good. Other than the kid behind the counter being a little too determined to dissuade my lilly-white self from ordering tripe it was great service. I'm glad to see that they've figured out how to streamline things because it is still great food in a niche that doesn't exist elsewhere in Cinci. We had the empanadas (I recommend the beef and cheese as our favorites), arepas, and an unexpected roasted corn/cheese/chorizo/potato fries mixture that my husband enjoyed. My hubby has been wanting to try this place for a while and we finally took the plunge today for lunch. We are SO glad we did!!! We even took our kids, 8 and 3, and they both loved it too!! The owner specially made a small bowl of their chicken soup because my son wanted to taste it.
