    ENSALADA DE JICAMA Y MANGO

We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was delicious and filling! Their cocktails were super yummy (I had the margarita clarificada and my husband the old fashion). We got a salad, 1 special, the empanadas, and the tacos and it was plenty for the two of us. We had an early reservation but it was still really busy. The staff was attentive and on top of it, with one main waitress for our table but her peers would drop our food and drinks as they were ready at the service bar. The environment was warm and very Spanish ambiance, which we loved and felt fit the menu. A great corner spot with large glass windows to let you see onto the bustle outdoors!

We were served by the Goat (tattoo on her arm lol, love it) Service was great. We liked her personality. Ambiance is fine. We had a nice table. For the two of us, we ordered 3 vegetables and 4 carne (double order of empanadas). As well as 2 desserts and 3 cocktails. (total around $177) We were a bit unsatisfied when we left. BROCHETAS DE POLLO; EMPANADAS DE RES CON PIQUE (4); *BOCADILLOS DE HAMBURGUESA (2); REPOLLO A LA PLANCHA; TOSTONES Y GUACAMOLE; PATATAS BRAVAS; TARTA DE CHOCOLATE; PASTEL DE ALMENDRAS; CARAJILLO; PERITA MANHATTAN; FLOR DE SAUCO Cabbage was very interesting but can be a texture thing for anyone who doesn't like mushy foods. The sauce was good. The potatoes were ok but had a smoky flavor we didn't prefer, and could have been crispier. Empanadas were nice and crispy and full of meat. Better than Che but not as good as Alfio's. The sliders were greasy but had good flavor. Eat them fast to prevent mushy buns! The chicken skewers were tasty but could do without the rest of the stuff on the plate. Plantains and guac was good. They were crispy, great texture. Guac was limey! The desserts were good but my fiancé said he would prefer the strawberries removed front the chocolate tarta because they tasted weird, as well as the sour cream whip. My cake was warm and spongy, delicious coffee flavor and a nice crunch on top. The carajillo was delicious. The other cocktails were also good. Manhattan was fruity and light. So was the flor. There is a section on the check for server tip as well as kitchen tip which you don't see often. overall, this place was a bit overhyped for us. We've had much better in the city and likely won't be back any time soon.

Remnants of a fantastic dessert selection.

Wow! Can't stop thinking about spiced skate wing, snow peas and blueberries. What a pairing! Best dish I've had on my trip to Cincinnati. Beautiful restaurant. Date night special. Parking in a garage is your best bet. Would absolutely come back here.

long story short: stunning small plates We went to Mita's on a Wednesday night but it was still bustling & busy, which gave it a warm & comfortable atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive & well-versed in their menu. We got a few drinks, a glass of orange wine & a white sangria. The sangria was good, if a bit bland, but the orange wine was delicious. As for plates, we started with jamon & olives with goat cheese. The jamon was wonderfully savory & thin, a definite must-order. The olives & cheese were warm & a great start to the meal. Next, we tried a seasonal skewer with peppers, olive, sardine, & black garlic; WOW! The short-rib empanadas were succulent &, with the chimmi, so delicious. The pork belly tacos were perfectly cooked & sweet & spicy. Oh & the potatoes were to die for- perfectly flavorful & crispy. We finished with the tres leches cake, which was good but a bit average compared to the rest of the meal. We left full & planning what we want to get the next time we come.

Food so good I couldn't wait to take a photo.

Wow! This place is amazing. I really never eat food that blows my mind but this did. First the guacamole and tostones were incredible. They were warm and salty and garlicky. But garlicky in a way inside never tested. Amazing. And just the right amount of line in the best guac. Also the paella was amazing. It's everything you want in a paella. We will be back!!

recently came in for a friend's birthday dinner and mita's did not disappoint!! *be advised that they don't offer to split checks per guest, but rather 1 card for the table, or 1 check split evenly for the amount of guests you have (this wasn't a big deal for us- venmo exists for a reason LOL) service was attentive, but not overbearing, drinks and mocktails were delicious, and the fooooodddd oh my godddd SO so good! will definitely be returning in the near future cuz their ceviche & stuffed peppers are off the charts

Mita's is my all time favorite restaurant in Cincinnati. So when my friends were visiting Cincinnati for the first time, I knew I had to bring them here. I come here often and always for special occasions like my birthday, as I'm never disappointed. The restaurant atmosphere is very modern and the windows make it an amazing spot for the sunset time when light hits the rooms. However, it looks upscale, but is casual. You don't have to be dressed up to feel comfortable here. You see people dressed up for special occasions and also in casual Reds clothing. The waitress and staff was so friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond. My friend spilled her drink on the table and they were apologizing even though it wasn't their fault at all, and they came with napkins and towels right away. They even replaced her drink with a fresh new one! She got the MEJOR MANERA and it was amazing. So refreshing. I had a spicy non alcoholic drink as I was exhausted from the day and it was refreshing and amazing. The spice is perfect. We ordered a bunch of dishes for us to all try and share. There were 3 adults sharing. We got started with the cheese board. My favorite was the CABRA AL' ROMERO with the membrillo with the rye chips. The VACA AÑEJO also has a nice nutty flavor which I liked. The VALDEON was my least favorite due RJ the pungent flavor but is still a very smooth and creamy cheese. We then got our stuffed peppers with goat cheese (PIMIENTOS PIQUILLO RELLENOS) which were fantastic. Perfect Sherry glaze and melts in your mouth. The CALCOTS were also refreshing. When it said spring onions with sauce I wasn't expecting it to taste so good but the charred flavors with the romesco sauce is delicious. The shrimp Ceviche was next and I love the citrus flavors with the plantain chips but I think I like the fish of the day ceviche best. The corn nuts were interesting with the ceviche. We then got our PULPO and CRUDO DE VIERAS. The Pulpo was very interesting with the foam mashed potatoes, however, the seasoning for the octopus was a bit too salty for my taste. The scallops were my all time favorite. They melt in your mouth and had amazing flavors with the jalapeño balanced with the cherry yuzu. I could have had 10 of these alone. We then got the TACOS DE LENGUA. This was my 2nd favorite item and I was hesitant to get it but the waitress said it was very good and recommended it. She said the beef tongue wasn't chewy and tough but the way they cook it it's soft and she was absolutely correct. What I loved most was the combination of flavors with the watermelon and mint and the pico de gallo. These are a must try. At the end we got the LUBINA RAYADA which is my 3rd favorite item of our meal that day. The fish was fantastic and fresh. The roasted carrots paired so well along with the cilantro oil and carrot spread. The young coconut added a nice crunch and freshness as well. We were absolutely stuffed after all these dishes we didn't get dessert but they all looked amazing as always. I can't wait to be back it Mita's for my next foodie adventure!

We came for their 10th anniversary dinner, which also coincided with my boyfriend's birthday dinner. It was a 4 course tasting menu, with multiple plates per course. Everything was served family style and was absolutely delicious. Our server was fantastic and was quick to answer any questions we had. Our favorite plates were probably the chicharron and the sandìa watermelon course, but honestly every bite was just as tasty as the last. It was our first time here, but I can't wait to go back and try the normal menu!

I expected better. We have been wanting to dine at Mita's for a long time. We finally made it and had dinner with my nephew and his wife. Our reservations were early and we were just about the only patrons in the restaurant. The restaurant is indeed beautiful. The seating is varied and the restaurant is laid out in an interestingly unique way. The full windows provide a nice view of downtown. My nephew started off with three cheeses and an assortment of breads. We let them focus on this one, but we did have a small taste. Everything was good. We ordered Pan Con Aceite de Olivo y Salsa Romesco. I found this to be the best bite we tasted. Each of the three breads were unique and delicious. The olive oil and romesco sauce were fantastic. This dish comes highly recommended. Next on deck was Ensalada de Jicama y Mango, another very tasty dish. The Ceviche del Sia was tangy and delicious. The Pulpo was okay. I order octopus whenever I see it on a menu. I knew I was ordering this well before we arrived. The rest of the table was initially not interested, but after trying it they all found it quite good. I, on the other hand, was disappointed. The dish could have been made with anything, by which I mean the octopus itself was difficult to discern. It was very cheese and potato heavy, which made it yummy for the rest of the table. I suppose I'm an octopus purist and this dish didn't meet my expectations. The sliders were good. The were small, naturally, but were quite juicy. The fried pork belly tacos were tasty and they were spicy! One diner at the table, who does not care for spicy food, took a bite and was sorely upset. That said, for anyone interested in a dish with a kick, this is it. Even though I'm not a huge fan of spice, I'd give it a thumbs up. One of the better and larger dishes was Arroz Chafe de Pato - duck fried rice, grilled pineapple, celery root, duck egg, lucuma-hoisin sauce. There was enough for everyone to enjoy and it was very good. It was time for dessert, which included Tarta de Chocolate - spiced dark chocolate tart, pepita crust, dulce de leche, cinnamon whipped cream. If I recall, my nephew's wife enjoyed this dish. Two folks had Tarta de Queso - cheesecake with cherries. Both found it to be okay and a little dry. I had two dips of the ice cream. It never seemed to melt; it was disappointing. Overall the food was very good. Where the meal fell down was the way the servers managed the table. Our plates were not replaced between dishes, which left us with the remains of the previous dish intermingled with the next. I expected more from such a high end, expensive restaurant. Our plates and silverware should have been cleared and replaced often. This never happened. The food was good. The service was lackluster. For a meal I'd been anticipating for a long time, I was disappointed and won't likely return. That said, I think everyone should give Mita's a try. There were definitely some high points and I admit there were items on the menu I wish I'd tried.

We only had one night in Cincinnati and it was so hard to narrow down places for dinner! I'm so glad we chose Mita's. The service was outstanding and the vibes were high (8pm on a Friday)! I love tapas restaurants and trying a little bit of everything. The two of us split the goat cheese stuffed peppers, ceviche of the day, tostones and guacamole, and the pork chop. We were very happy with everything, and our waitress was supportive/enthusiastic about our choices which always helps.

Our waiter recommended we order two to three plates each but was annoyed when we only ordered 5 for the three of us to start. The shishito peppers were well cooked with flakey sea salt. The short rib empanadas were good but a little dry and needs to delish sauce provided. The shrimp ceviche was okay. We ordered additional empanadas that were good but....... Everything was just okay until dessert. They brought out the almond cake. It was warm, rich with just the right amount of frosting. I can only relate it to a warm hug from a loved one. The dessert rectified the entire experience.

Are the tapas at Mita's big enough to share? With how many people?

I'd say 2-3, maybe 4 if you want a smaller sample. I'll say we are bigger eaters though. Bread board is good size.

On a less busy night, they offered a free toast for my birthday. I've been for other celebratory dinners here on busier nights where that hasn't happened, so it was a lovely surprise! Ambiance: 4/5 A little busy and can get loud on the weekends with table chatter, cutlery clinks, and the brick walls echoing noise around. Tables are also close together, so you can definitely hear the conversation next to you. The decor is pleasant and the lighting is soft and romantic enough that it is still a perfect date night spot! There are also a couple larger crescent booths for larger parties.
