So, I did eventually receive a bill from ZoomCare for a portion of the care not covered by my insurance, as well as a bill from the lab that did my tests. I ended up paying another $50 or so. I rarely am ill and then wait until I am in considerable pain before seeking treatment- and have done everything I can before seeing a provider. That said - I woke up at 7am and went online to see when ZoomCare opened. I was able to make an appointment to be seen by a PA that morning online. The person at the front desk was extremely professional- was able to get me checked in right away. She was juggling other appointments - customer service and tests (and the fact that I was 5 minutes late) I never felt rushed or forgotten about. I had adequate time with the provider to discuss my issues and be examined. I had gone online to investigate my symptoms- she was able to answer my questions and concerns. They had what I needed onsite so I just needed to provide my insurance information- pay the fees and be on my way in a very short period of time. Really impresssed by the team at ZoomCare - from the lady at the front desk who checked me in to seeing the provider. Capital Hill really needed an Urgent Care clinic, and ZoomCare has filled that niche. It's actually easier for me scheduling an appointment here than seeing my actual primary care provider. They'll bill your insurance for you, but if you don't have insurance, their out of pocket cost is very reasonable. They have an easy and convenient website where you can schedule appointments, see your bills, your health record, and email your provider if you have any additional questions. The provider didn't rush me, answered all my questions, and provided me with a clear treatment plan. Will definitely be back! read more

There aren't many Urgent Care places that are open on Sundays, and going to the ER was not even an option for me. I'm SO glad ZoomCare was open and able to take me in on such a short notice. I went online and scheduled an appointment--quick and simple! All they require is a credit card just in case you no-show for a fee. I absolutely hate going to the doctors office, but ZoomCare made it short, sweet, and straight to the point. Once I walked in I was greeted, gave my ID and insurance car and was given a waiting time. Exactly 7 min later I was greeted by Erin, PA-C. Erin asked all the necessary questions and was very thorough when explaining things to me. I didn't feel rushed in anyway (like I usually do when I go to a doctors office). As for the price my copay was very reasonable, although after reading some other reviews, I'm a bit worried about the lab fees. My visit was just this past Sunday, so the bill is still on its way. I was incredibly impressed with the upscale environment, and professionalism of this urgent care center. I was able to make an appointment online for the same day. They correctly diagnosed me, and gave me scripts. The best part was that they took my insurance, and it only cost me my $20 co-pay for the visit! Best healthcare experience I've ever had. Needed an urgent appointment on a Sunday - booked it at 10:30am for 1:45pm then spent the next 3 hours at home, rather than my usual experience of urgent care clinics where you sit there for 3 hours waiting to be seen in an uncomfortable waiting room chair. Once I got there, the service was super friendly and efficient. Both doctor and receptionist were delightful. I was checked in, seen and checked out all in the space of 20 mins. Not only that, but by the time I walked to the pharmacy near where I live (at the other end of Broadway) they'd already phoned in the prescription and it was ready to pick it up. I woke up a few weekends ago on Saturday and I couldn't move. My back was F'd and it was 3 AM. I laid there until 8AM and then called here to make a same-day appointment. When I got there, I found out from Erin that they can not prescribe any medication and I was in desperate need of pain relief so she sent me to another clinic that took care of me. What really impressed me, besides their courteous service and helpfulness at the office, was that Erin called me the next day to make sure I was okay and offered to refer me to a specialist for my back issues. I was very impressed with the attentiveness and level of service when I was only there for a few minutes and didn't even get treated. I hope I don't have to go back anytime soon, but if I need same-day care and my medical office is closed, I'm going here first. read more

This is not how healthcare should be. It's presented as an urgent care mostly, but can be a primary care as well. They only take appointments and you have to put in your credit card information to secure your spot. It is said to be for your convenience in case you left your wallet at home when you come in for your visit, but who forgets their wallet when going into the doctors office? What it's really meant for is the $100 cancellation fee if you don't show up OR if you need to reschedule and there are no appointments for the rest of the day, guess what? $100. Oh but that's not only why this company stores your card information before you actually go in, it's also because they make you pay everything up front and from what I'm reading on here and on their website they OVER-BILL you because they just ESTIMATE what you might owe after they bill your insurance and just "refund" you later. What's even better?? If you go in and they give you an estimate before you see the physician and you realize that it's too expensive, you can't just say no thanks I'll go somewhere else, they hit you with the $100 cancellation fee. This company thrives on over-collecting payments / cancellation fees in hopes that people don't see their explanation of benefits stating they actually DON'T owe that much and in turn don't ask for a refund... I work in healthcare, I work at an urgent care and I promise you that you deserve better with your healthcare. There are other transparent and honest places to go to around Seattle. A healthcare facility with integrity doesn't over-bill patients in their most vulnerable times and says "well hopefully you get a refund when your actual bill comes through". I got charged $300 for a 5 minute visit and did not get a definitive diagnosis because they didn't have the equipment to diagnose me properly. If I would of been told there was no X-ray (although it says imaging available on the window and in their lobby) I would of taken the $100 cancellation fee (unfortunately would of been the only option) and left. I hobbled in with a horrible ankle injury and the front desk lady gave me crutches and talked about X-rays, but never once stated they'd have to send me somewhere else for X-rays... I've never been to CityMD but people - it's a block away. Go there or call them before you go to this place. From what I've read about their company they will work with you. How healthcare should be. This place definitely takes the care out of healthcare and zoomcare. I keep seeing them respond to comments about their shady billing practices with, "we do this so you don't get a surprise bill in the end" or "we do this because if we have no idea if your insurance is active or not". Again, being in healthcare and working in urgent care, THIS IS NOT TRUE. First of all, everyone expects a bill after a doctors visit. What a terrible cover up. Second, the patient more than likely can pull up their insurance on their phone and show you the dates of when the insurance when active. There are multiple resources online to check if an insurance is active or a phone call to the insurance company. Please don't let this place treat you like your stupid. Know your insurance, know your options. The doctor stated "yeah we have a room for X-rays but haven't gotten around to ordering equipment yet." ...haven't gotten around. Let that sink in. My injury was bad enough that I needed to get evaluated that night (9pm) but not bad enough for an ER visit, although for some people, including myself, it seems like the ER might be cheaper and will be able to give you a correct diagnosis. read more

I saw Ms. Henderson for a bad ear infection / perforated eardrum while i was on vacation. She was very kind, understanding, and was even able to give me the medicine I needed to get better, at the time of the visit. My ear infection / perforated eardrum was diagnosed, the proper medication was given, the doctor was professional, kind and gentle with my ear as I was in severe pain. I have a low insurance plan and it came to $129 for the visit, however, I was able to get in immediately while on vacation so my mind was put an ease by a great physician so it was worth every penny. After reading the 1 or 2 star reviews, it sounds like the negative encounters people experienced were because they should have gone to an ER rather than urgent care clinic. What a great experience! Sick with what I suspected to be strep throat on a Sunday, I needed somewhere I could pop in and out of quickly and receive the straightforward care I needed. I logged on to their website, filled out my profile information online, input my insurance information, and selected a time for my appointment - It was 3:32 and I was able to make a 3:45 appointment. Once there, there was no need to fill out additional paperwork - They just scanned my ID and insurance card and that was it. I had enough time to pour myself a cup of Stash tea and then I was called in. Both the receptionist and the RN I interacted with were really nice and helpful. I love that they project the computer screen to a TV on the wall, so you can watch your online record being filled out. The place is clean and has everything it needs to take care of most urgent care matters. There is even a small selection of over the counter medicine you could purchase if you didn't want to go to the drug store. And, of course, the Skype option is a great one (if you don't have insurance). Welcome to modern medicine! When it was time to check out, I was told that my records would be online. The prescription was printed out and they offered a helpful suggestion on where to go to get it filled (because there were a couple pharmacies who wouldn't fill one of my scripts easily). Overall, I'm really impressed. I will gladly go here any time I am sick and in need of a quick office visit. It is close by, convenient, accessible online, and, of course, well staffed with friendly and knowledgeable people. The receptionist was super friendly and got me all set up to see the Dr. I knew what my issues were as I have had sinus infections before and let them know what had worked best for me in the past. It's super easy and quick to schedule an appointment online (they were able to see me within an hour of making an appointment), they're open pretty late, no wait when you come in, the doctor is very professional and knowledgable, and you can even get certain meds there so you don't have to spend time going to the pharmacy and waiting for your prescription to be filled. I had an issue in the middle of the day and my normal clinic was closed already, and found ZoomCare which has pretty amazing hours. It's impressively simple to schedule an appointment either online or by phone, very little hassle. I was in a bit of pain too so I really wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. The clinic is small and minimalistic, but was able to handle everything I needed. I did have to wait almost half an hour past my scheduled time which was kind of annoying, since it felt like they really could have just told me to come 15-30 minutes later and I wouldn't have had to wait nearly as long. I came down with what I suspected was shingles while on a business trip to San Francisco. Since it is best treated within the first 72 hours, waiting until monday for the normal doctors office was not an option. I was very skeptical of the doctor-in-a-box model. However, from the moment I stepped into ZoomCare's Capital Hill office my opinion immediately changed. ZoomCare has a nice, small, clean high tech office. They greeted me and had me checked in, insurance and all within 5 minutes. No lengthy forms to fill out and no long queues. Within 2 minutes after my appointment time, my physician Erin Grindle (PA-C) came out to greet me. Erin took very good care to ask all the questions necessary and take time with her diagnosis. She also allowed plenty of time for me to ask questions. What was best is that we talked about the possible treatment plans and allowed me to weigh in one what I wanted to do. Compared to the established offices I have visited over the years, I have found that this was equal if not better treatment. I am considering making it my first choice for health issues. The check out process was a snap as well and I left the office within 45 mins of entering. Usually I spend just that amount of time in the waiting room of Minor and James or Swedish. read more

After calling around to various clinic's for appointment times and prices of a visit - this was by far the best for self-pay in the Seattle area we could find and we were able to get in for an appointment ASAP. 99$ covered the visit - diagnosis and all medical questions that were professionally answered. Update: Have been to Zoomcare a total of four times now (2 emergency, 1 prescription, 1 annual physical) and am still incredibly happy with the Capitol Hill clinic. Routine bloodwork for a metabolic pannel was drawn on one evening and I had my results (PDF over email) the very next morning. An email from one of the medical providers followed that same day explaining the results. Added bonus - before proceeding to give me the "routine" set of tests, for which I would likely have to bill my insurance and possibly pay out of pocket, the provider explained which tests I actually needed given my health indicators (weight, BP, history, exercise level, etc). Had they not provided that info I would've ended up with not only unnecessary tests but also additional costs I could've avoided! Hands down, this is the best way to provide basic healthcare to the public. read more

I've been here a handful of times now and have always had great experiences with all staff and doctors. I'm seen right at my appointment time and am out super quick. I like how they give you (online through your account if you make one) all the notes from your visit and a packet with instructions, your visit payment break down, and info about what you were diagnosed with for that visit. Very easy to make a same-day appointment either online or through the phone. Very friendly and professional staff. TL;DR: ZoomCare is brilliant for almost all things non-severe. So I needed a physical, and I move around too much to care about the GP process. So after one great experience with ZoomCare in Portland, I was happy to see they had one here too. I made an appointment for a basic checkup. One with the typical fair, plus a blood screening. The physician's assistant who saw me, I think his name was Mark, was just awesome. I had a friend with me, for emotional support because needles, I hate them; anyway, Mark was great with the initial walkthrough. Collecting my medical history, overall having fun with the whole process. He really made me feel comfortable--same with my companion--and this was crucial to the experience. Anyway, I wanted bloodwork done... Then the needle part came around. I have very shy veins, and that coupled with a fear of needles equals disaster. Anyway, two separate phlebotomists tried *only once or twice each* to find my vein, and when they realized they couldn't, they immediately recommended I go to Lab Corps. Sure, this was frustrating (it had taken a lot for me to get to this point, re: needle anxiety), but I greatly appreciated no one dug around too much. They were human. They were fallible, and willing to admit that. And they were overall fantastic. I highly recommend anyone looking for basic medical services comes and checks these folks out. read more

Talked to receptionist, no paperwork, just med card and ID. I got right in, had lab results in 5 min and was out the door within 15 min. I am super pleased with the service, Dr Rebecca Church was beyond kind... she listened to all issues, and discussed some of my probable causes, proceeded to made her own concoction to remedy my symptoms for the pharmacy to make. While visiting Seattle, I severely pulled a muscle in my lower back and needed to see a doctor on Saturday. I found Zoomcare on Yelp and chose them because of the reviews and also because they took my insurance. The woman at the front desk was so nice. Rather than make me sit upfront in an uncomfortable chair, she took me to an exam room and adjusted the reclining table to an angle I could tolerate. She checked on me a few times to see how I was doing and to give me an update on the doctor. The doctor was very nice and did a thorough exam, confirming the strain. Perhaps best of all, she gave me several prescriptions and even filled them there so I wouldn't have to go to a separate drugstore. They even called a cab for me to get me back to my hotel. I am VERY impressed with ZoomCare. I remember being excited to see this clinic going in just a block from my apartment, but I haven't been in need of any medical care until now (lucky me!) but yesterday I came down with a really nasty cold. I had a 6-month bout with Bronchitis in 2010 after not taking good care of myself, so I'm a little nervous about my upper respiratory tract. I want to try to head that off before it develops into that again, so once I woke up this morning I checked their website and made my appointment. Let me say that again. At 1pm today, I made an appointment for 2:30pm. Today. (It could have been earlier, but I needed to do a few things at home first.) This is what ZoomCare is all about, and being firmly entrenched in this digital, fast-paced age, I LOVE IT. I could never get in with my old doctor on same day, and most assuredly not within 90 minutes of calling. I walked over to the office a little early, expecting to have paperwork to fill out. Nope! They took my ID and insurance card and offered me some tea. I barely had time to put hot water in my cup when Erin Grindle (PA-C) came out and greeted me by name. She took down my medical history (and I loved seeing it displayed on the screen in the room, so I knew what she was doing) and then examined my ears, nose, and throat. She told me what she was looking for the whole way through, and I felt like she really listened to my concerns and my description of my symptoms. Erin offered me several symptom treatment alternatives for what she suspected was wrong (just a cold, at this point, but with an eye towards preventing secondary infection if possible) and we settled on a plan of action together. Pretty damn solid. I scheduled an appointment the night before (you can't schedule far in advance--this is a feature not a bug). I showed up, didn't have to wait almost at all. This is pretty awesome, I often have to wait 10-15 mins at a traditional doctor's office. You will probably get a nurse practitioner unless, I presume, you actually need a doctor. The woman who I met with was really lovely and efficient. If you follow health care policy at all you will know that decreasing reliance on expensive doctors and separating out care that really qualifies as what you might call maintenance is one way to get to lower costs. In my case the maintenance operation was stuffed up ears, but I think flu shots, colf/fu, minor injuries etc also fall in this category. Its neat to see this in action. Anywho, in and out much much faster than I have ever been in and out of a doctors office before, and with just as much if not more care and attention to detail. One of the best medical experiences I have had in a very long time! I saw Dr. Grindle and she was one of the nicest and most attentive doctors I have ever seen. I hadn't had a yearly physical for awhile and she took her time asking me new patient questions and going over many different health categories to get a good comprehensive view. When all was said and done, I realized she spent almost an hour with me! This is really rare, as most physicals I have had you can tell when the doctor need/wants to move on to the next patient and they usually last 15 minutes. My stress for seeing doctors is usually very high, but now that I know I have a reliable doctor very near-by that takes urgent care as well, I am truly thankful. Also making appointments couldn't be any easier. The office is very clean. I waited maybe 3 minutes to be seen at my appointment time that I had requested only 2 hours before the appointment online.The front waiting area is very cute and has a shelf with very well priced basic medical items if you need them. Booking online was easy and there was availability an hour later (as opposed to 72 hours later with my primary care doc), the staff was friendly and the PA-C was able to diagnose my issue and prescribe the right medicine. My rashes were crazy itchy and it was growing all over my body. I had to make an immediate appointment with Jennifer Morris(PA) at 10:45pm(my dermatologist wasn't available same day). I went in thinking I had scabies and as I described all of my symptoms, so did Jennifer. She inspected my body and was briefly surprised I had hives(later found out hives is completely different than scabies). She further glanced at my left hand briefly and diagnosed me with scabies. I think she thought I had scabies because I told her I thought I had scabies and she prescribed me permethrin 5%. This whole visit cost me $165 which is the clinic's fee and $40 for the scabies cream. It was so expensive because I had no insurance. I'm not mad about the price....IF SHE DID HER JOB RIGHT. I went to my dermatologist the next day who has been seeing me for more than 20yrs to confirm my scabies....he didn't even inspect my body for more than 10 seconds and confirmed it wasn't scabies. I actually have Urictaria which is just hives. It turns out I was allergic to something in my environment around me and I DO NOT HAVE SCABIES. To test this out. I bought some antihistamines for $20, took one pill of 10mg and all of the hives went away within 30 minutes. As of 3 days later, I am still perfectly fine with no issues. I wasted $200 for a WRONG DIAGNOSIS AT ZOOM! My theory is that the doctors, PAs, and Nurse practitioners here are use to dealing with your everyday cold, flu, cough, fever, and headache issues. They don't have much experience beyond that and they end up charging you a ton of money for some diagnosis that even a 1st grader can figure out. This is extremely dangerous because symptoms can overlap with certain illnesses and diseases and if you're not experienced enough to tell the difference, then you're screwing over whoever placed their life in your hands. I get that you need experience to gain experience so DON'T think you know everything and pretend to be superman in front of patients. IF YOU DON'T KNOW what's going on with the patient, then figure out a way to know. Stop wrongly diagnosing people for the sake of money. If my medication was oral instead of a topical cream, there could've been some serious side effects. Luckily, the cream only made my skin super dry. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! read more

Overall good. A couple glitches: There was a bit of a delay that mainly was a misunderstanding (one receptionist asked if I could wait while they checked in some people for earlier appointments.... then I sat and sat since the other receptionist didn't realize I was there for my appointment). Also the validated parking didn't cover my time, so I had to pay a bit. Perhaps the receptionist is used to only validating for a shorter amount of time (and since he made me wait....). On the upside - scheduling online was very simple, and no additional forms to fill out at the office. Time spent with the nurse practitioner was efficiently used. Also love the extended hours. I like that they are making it easier to fit an appointment into my schedule. I would go back - I hope one opens on the eastside near my workplace. read more

I had scheduled an appointment online and when I arrived at Zoomcare they got me in right away; so different from most of my experiences with urgent cares. Lisa, the ARNP, I had was wonderful.
