Wow! Zoot has to be the best coffee my wife and I have ever tasted. First off.......We are coffee snobs. We discovered Zoot a few weeks ago as we were attending the Camden International Film Festival. We must have drank "coffee" from every shop in town and had almost given up hope, until someone said go to ZOOT! My wife's Latte with Almond milk was to "die for". My dark roast, Wilde Oscar was the best coffee I have ever tasted, in my life. I sit here typing and salivating. I spent 18 years in Seattle and my wife is from Italy....We appreciate great coffee when we taste it. They offered light Vegan fair too. I'm not a Vegan though my wife is. Sometimes I like the option to eat healthy when traveling (Not too often). Their mixed berry muffins are insanely delicious. The atmosphere was electric due to all the film people standing around and the groovy Jazz music playing. We almost never came here due to reading stupid reviews........even stupid people get their say! Finally, The Irish guy that served us was funny, though I was not sure what he was talking about, my wife had to repeat for me...... My wife is still talking about the accent. This is a Real coffee shop, we can't wait to visit next year. read more

This a small shop on the part of Route 1 though Camden that's called Elm. I think it's new since we were last here. After walking around town for a while I sat in the park across the street and watched traffic pass by on Route 1 while Alan explored a bit more. The day was warm and lovely and it was nice to find a bench in the shade. There must be a geriatric biker dude gathering here this w/e because there were lots of 'em revving their engines. Cool. Behind the bench where I sat there's a new Veterans Memorial that was dedicated last year, a simple, massive granite slab engraved w/ the names of Camden's war dead over the decades. They lost a lot of men during WWII, a lot for a small town. When Alan rejoined me he suggested an iced tea, so we crossed the street to Zoot. It's a clean and airy spot w/ wifi, coffee, tea, bakery goods and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices. Those totally eclipsed the iced tea. Alan ordered a blueberry/banana smoothie and I ordered carrot juice. I watched her juice the carrots, large sweet ones. I had a tall glass. It was incredibly sweet and good. We bought a scone and a piece of banana bread for breakfast tomorrow w/ our fresh fruit. Alan has taken to teasing me about peanut butter and English muffins. We took our drinks back to the park and drank them as we watched the traffic pass. Thanks also to Zoot for posting the little news clipping about the jazz show on the local public radio station, 93.3. We were getting mighty tired of the oldies countdown on the car radio. read more

Coffee itself gets a 5: good taste, great latte. Service was a 2 to 3. We walked in and felt like we were intruding the whole time. The baristas weren't overly friendly or helpful, and they had expressions on their faces that seemed to imply we didn't belong in the coffee shop (we were well dressed and polite; no reason we shouldn't have received decent service). Also, pricing seemed pretty steep. $5.15 for a latte is steeper than Starbucks, and that's pretty expensive for this area as it is. Also, we were asked if we wanted paper cups or ceramic. We opted for paper in case we wanted to wander with our coffee, but at no point were we informed that to-go cups would incur an extra charge. Poor service and high prices rated this shop for us, but the coffee is good. read more

Came upon this place on our way back from a trip to Acadia- it was lovely and the staff was terrific! Ordered an iced cappuccino which was amazing with a little foam on top. My little guy had a lemonade and we shared some of their baked goods- it was a delight! read more

We were just passing through town but went back a second day because it was so good. Lots of vegan options, and really good coffee. It was good, better than a restaurant would make, but honestly, not the same as Starbucks. Maybe that's a good thing for a coffee-lover? This place was fantastic! My family has specific tastes--not everyone likes coffee, some like their drinks sweeter, etc. Zoot has something for everyone. The serious coffee drinkers liked the coffee, I loved their hot chocolate, and my mother (who hates coffee and thought their chocolate was too bitter), loved the steamed milk options. The white chocolate mocha was also a favorite. Everything was so good, we kept finding reasons to go back during the week we were in Camden. I wish we had one in NYC! read more

It was very bizarre. I guess you're not allowed to look around for a seat at Zoot.
