I ate at Zorba's food truck at the Farmer's Market many years ago. I remembered it feeling very expensive for what I got, even for Alaskan prices. Unfortunately, that hasn't changed. I ordered the same thing I had about 8 years ago, the eggplant pita. Even with my memory, I was surprised at how small the roll-up was. The pita was soft and stuffed with tomatoes, sauces, onions, and tabouleh. I felt like the eggplant walked through it. Perhaps it was mashed up in a spread? I was expecting pieces of eggplant as the main ingredient. Stuffing a pita with more grain seemed a bit cheap to me. But all together, it had excellent, no, I'll upgrade that--it had extraordinary flavor. Whoever crafted the sauces knows what they are doing. The toddler who was with me happily ate some of the pita and sauces and veggies. I also ordered a limeade because I friend had recommended the drinks. I also like to try new things. I was surprise that it was a very unnaturally green type of green color. Perhaps it was artificial color? Perhaps not, but it was nevertheless unnerving. It was ok. The toddler went ga-ga over the pieces of frozen strawberry inside it that I picked out for him. Zorba's gets a start for having a nice outdoor eating area with a variety of seating options. This is the way to do it in Fairbanks--do everything you can outside while the summer is short. The toddler could then explore, climb on things, and make friends after we ate. This made it a good break from our marathon day of bush shopping.

Perfect summertime spot for Greek gyros and falafel and other Mediterranean delights. This is a "food truck" type restaurant, but it doesn't drive around. There is a nice amount of picnic tables with sunshades to sit and enjoy the Alaskan summertime. I noticed they even put a bucket of sidewalk chalk out to keep young kids entertained. Nice thought. I ordered the Gyro with double meat and a Turkish Lime beverage, which I've never tried. You order at the window facing the parking and pick up at the window facing the street. They will call your name loudly. The gyro was great! Lots of meat and most important, lots of that yummy zatziki sauce. I was really happy with the overall gyro! Yum! The Turkish Lime drink was SO refreshing on a sunny day like it was! Tart and sweet and lime-y and yum! I plowed through it before I got my gyro. There is a good mix of items to choose from off the menu, and there is vegetarian items and desert items. Before I left I got a "F-Bomb" to go. That one is all vegetarian, add falafel. I would recommend Zorba's for lunch definitely. A terrific summertime spot to have snack. They even have a punch card where if you buy ten sandwiches you get one. Good food. Will definitely be back!

The food here and quality was excellent. Very tasty, fresh ingredients, and awesome flavor. Now the bad news... either the prices are too high or the portions are too small--you pick. I expect to be full when paying $9-$11 for a meal at a food truck. Not the case for us... our entire table was left hungry after eating what we began to jokingly call a "snack". The 'double' gyro was laughable. It was what I would expect the standard gyro to look like. My poor nephew ate his standard gyro and asked if he could buy another because he was still hungry. It was like watching the musical Oliver... "Please sir, may I have some more?" Nope. Like a dirty orphan, you get to leave Zorba's hungry and go to Taco Bell to finish eating on a budget... because you already spent $9 on a gyro the size of a Taco Bell $1.89 soft taco. Too bad. Yummy, yummy... but still hungry.

Pros: Warm soft pita bread Generous amount of deliciously seasoned meat Friendly staff Falafel bites were yummy Can order ahead for quick easy pick up Cons: Tzatziki sauce was lacking Eating "for here" gyro is served with just the wax paper, no plate. Several tables with umbrellas for seating. Parking is sorta anywhere you want on the gravel lot. Would probably return to try other items from the menu.

The best gyros anywhere. The staff are always friendly. I just wish they were open year round.

Consistently great food with fantastic, friendly service. The Nuclear Bomb is a personal favorite, as is the falafel with tzatziki sauce.

Watch them cut the meat off the rotisserie. Delicious gyros. I like having mine on rice.

I'm so excited to find a place to enjoy eating at. The service was friendly and quick. The prices were reasonable and the establishment was clean. I'm definitely putting this stop on my regular list of go to's. Thank you for the experience! I ate too quick to snap a pic but I'll update the next visit with photos.
