My husband had a normal breakfast sandwich, and I had a gluten-free one. We were comparing the textures and consistencies, and they looked pretty close. Best gluten-free ciabatta I've ever had, though I've never had gluten-free ciabatta before lol. Texture was soft and fluffy, and didn't fall apart in your hands as you were eating it. Coffee and Matcha were very tasty, but slightly not warm enough. Overall, a great experience though. I ended up buying a couple of pastries to go, which all were gluten-free. There was a large selection in their Bakery case of all gluten-free items. Some dairy free Options too. One of the pastries I ended up taking back home with me to Florida and it held up. It was an almond cake. Though I had it in my bag and it completely fell apart. It was still super soft and delicious several days later! Definitely the spot to go if you are gluten-free!

I ended up getting some tacos and my husband got a sandwich. Both of them had really good flavor. Could tell that a lot of ingredients are made in house. Though I didn't end up buying any I did see that they had an entire Bakery case with a bunch of gluten-free baked goods like cheesecake, custard cake, and some other stuff. We really enjoyed the glass roof as the snow was just starting to melt. It was kind of cool like we were in a half melted igloo. I would definitely put it on my list if you are gluten-free.

Landed on the BLT with salmon. The BLT actually came with a croissant as the bread, so it made it very easy to eat. Lots of bacon and the salmon went really well with the sandwich. Fries here are great too! Staff here are great! Since we came here near closing time, they actually offered us some of their leftover soup since it would have been tossed out. Definitely hate wasting food, so that offer was accepted very quickly. I didn't realize until after leaving why Blue Roof Bistro has its name. It's because...the roof is blue heh. Either way, worth the visit.

After spending two weeks in Fairbanks, one piece of advice kept coming up from the locals: "You…read morehave to eat here." They weren't wrong. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome -- not just well served, but truly looked after. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it, the kind of hospitality that makes you instantly relax. The food selection was dangerously good. The kind of menu that makes you abandon all self-control and think, "I'll just try a bit of everything." No regrets there. Special mention to the bar staff, whose cheerful, infectious outlook on life set the tone for the entire place. Her energy alone could warm a Fairbanks winter -- and honestly, a raise should already be on the way That warmth carried through the whole restaurant, creating an atmosphere that felt inviting for everyone, whether you're a local regular or a frozen traveller passing through. Thank you to the entire team for making me feel so welcome over the Christmas and New Year period and for adding another unforgettable memory to my time in Fairbanks. "Be careful... Alaska will get you".

The reindeer sausage is actually a little spicy and while the menu lists another type of sausage, I'm not sure if I saw that. The shrimp was not overcooked which I appreciated. - The garden salad is pitiful but we were craving veggies, and it does come with housemade dressing which is good. - Fish and chips came with 3 semi-decent sizes of fish that weren't overcooked but the batter was slightly undercooked inside and the fries were decent. It came with coleslaw which was good. We asked for another tartar sauce and it was a $2 extra to our surprise. - the blackened halibut special was not that good, overcooked, but the mango salsa on top was delicious. The yellow rice was much too watery and bland as if it was microwaved, but it seemed like they would give you another side (i.e. mash potatoes) if requested. It was also $45 which was more expensive than I expected so I'd ask for the price next time before I order any specials. Beverages: - the arctic warrior draft beer was crisp and light; I'd get this again - the best beer I had in Fairbanks so far

I was really excited to try The Crepery since the menu listed vegan options. Unfortunately, when we…read morearrived, I noticed that all the crepes were being placed on the same skillet once finished. That meant egg-based crepes were potentially touching the vegan ones. I asked if one skillet could be wiped down so I could safely order, but they weren't able to accommodate that (it also wasn't very busy at the time, which is why I asked). Because of this, I decided not to risk ordering a crepe. I did end up getting the hot chocolate, which was actually excellent. It was really well balanced, rich, and chocolatey without being overly sweet. Everyone else in my group ordered crepes and loved them, so it's clear the food is good. I just wish there was a bit more flexibility around cross-contact for people ordering vegan options or with dietary restrictions. Based on my personal experience, I would lean toward a 2, but since others really enjoyed their crepes and the hot chocolate was great, it feels fair to land on a 3 for my rating.

This may be why our service was impacted. Our bartender, while super friendly and trying to do his best, was overwhelmed and had just started. Lots to learn. The dishes were all really well presented - that takes skill, in and of itself. While these weren't dishes I would come back for, it was a nice, quiet dinner to end a full day. And, don't overlook location - this is in Alaska, so you will pay more. That aside, nothing was spectacular but nothing was terrible enough to leave on the table as well. More on point seasoning would have breathed life into my jambalaya. My dinner mates had similar comments about the chicken pasta and taquitos. The French Dip went over well with my dad. What would I change to up the service and experience? Direct guests to the main dining room if service cannot be duplicated in the larger bar area. Maybe add another bartender to help out in the evenings, when it tended to be busier. Offer a limited drink menu and nothing more. This might increase the speed and also play to the strengths of the staff. For us, it took a long while to get our total drink order and mine never came, so I ended up ordering a local cider. Bring a chilled glass with the cider, friend. Our check took a while as well. The food came timely. So, again, the patterns looked to be with the staff manning the bar area. Really, an easy fix, if you think about it.
