Rack of Lamb

When we first walked in it was a little busy and got sat right in the middle of the restaurant which was kind of disappointing. But we got shrimp and crab avocado(not pictured) which was underwhelming and fishy but the Entree's were phenomenal. I got the rack of lamb and my wife got the seafood fettuccine which we both loved everything and the experience!

Wonderful! Food is very good! Reminded me of the wonderful Greek restaurants back home in Chicago! They also have a wonderful dirty martini made with Kalamata olives! Sooo good! Great service too! You won't regret spending a meal here!

Food was amazing, service was great took a bit of time but it was to be expected as everything is made from scratch. I absolutely love the atmosphere. Come early cause this place fills fast on the weekends!

***** We had a wonderful meal and a great time at Bobby's DoWe are Greek and felt the food lived up to our expectations! Bobby's Downtown has one of the nicest atmosphere's we found in Fairbanks. It has a beautiful bar with lots of seats if you are on your own or just like sitting at the bar. We had a table for 4. The Service was excellent and we had a lovely chat with the Greek owners, Bobby and Rena Nikolaides, brother and sister running the place with Greek friendliness & pride! All of our food was delicious with generous portions but I LOVED my Filet Mignon Souvlaki the best! I'm so glad we ate here while in Fairbanks, it had such fresh food with tasty vegetables.

Food was amazing. Little too much and I'm a big eater. I am a finish carpenter and so I loved the wood work in the restaurant. Very good ambiance. 5 stars because the food was great. Will have to say because I'm wearing working boots, jeans and a carhartt t shirt so the waiter payed little attention to me. Rookie. If he only didn't judge a table for what it will tip on the big check and take care of his customers, I bet his tips would go up. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Are reservations needed?

No, we were able to walk in and get a table for 5 people. To be sure, call ahead and make sure they don't have a big party in the night you're going.

We…read morereally liked it in here...great design and atmosphere and lots of good options for vegetarians. We came in after a recommendation from our tour director who knew we liked whiskey and that the Library had a peated whiskey brewed by a distiller from another city we had just been in. We had our shot of peated whiskey as promised and dug it. We were seated at the bar as the place was packed and we didn't have a reservation. We were happy to have the spot as well as to see not only did they have numerous vegetarian options, but they were all clearly labeled on their menu...so food options for us was not a token afterthought and we felt welcome! Unfortunately, I guess because it was so busy, the first two items we ordered took a looooong time to get to us and both were overcooked, like maybe the kitchen forgot they were in process which would explain the delay as well. We tried the Tempura Brussels Sprouts...a special menu item...overcooked...the tempura was a dark brown (tempura batter when cooked properly is a nice light golden brown with a nice light texture and taste to it) and the brussels on the inside were long void of any desirable texture. We also got the regular menu offered Caramelized Onion & Mushroom Flatbread. This was also overdone...gone was any chewiness in the crust leaving us with nothing but hard crunches and a pretty overall rich-tasting dish on top. Normally that would have been enough food for us, but we were only in town for one night and really wanted to try the cheese board...so we did and this was the saving grace of the meal. Served with cheeses, moosetard ground mustard, seasonal organic jam, house pickles, dried fruit, crackers, house baked italian crostini, house olives, this was plenty of food for us, looked really good, and we realized we could have just ordered this and we would have been indulgently full. There are many more vegetarian options in all of the menu categories to choose from, especially the "shareables" section, so vegetarians - show up and you will be well taken care of. We had a great time, also talking with the bartender! If we were ever in Fairbanks again, we'd definitely come back and try more.

I asked her which she preferred between 2 items and instead of giving me her opinion, she told me we're going with the 1st one because I said it 1st. She also seemed annoyed when she came to give me the hot sauce I asked for. The other server was cleaning the table next to me and asked me if I wanted the hot sauce before she put it away. I actually thought my server was going to grab it from that table to give to me, thought that'd be more efficient, but I guess she needed to walk away and do other things 1st before bringing me hot sauce. -C. F. S.: the gravy is good! One of the better ones I've had in quite a bit. The chicken fried steak was crunchy even though it was drenched in sauce. Delicious! I'm surprised that a bread item (was really hoping for a biscuit) didn't come with this dish for being almost $30. - Cajun salmon Benedict: delicious! I thought the salmon was overcooked but it was perfect! Hollandaise sauce was delicious. Not sure how it's Cajun though. The marinated tomatoes were tasty too! I would eat them on their own! Yum!

I had the Philly wrap, which was amazingly tasty! I also had the meatball sub, this was also amazing! All of the bartenders were so friendly and really made me feel welcome each time I entered. Definitely a solid choice!

We…read moreended up getting there about 10 mins early and there were only 3 parties there so we were confused about the response. In any case, we had a great meal and the owners were so friendly. We had the churrasco steak and the halibut Cuban style. The steak sauce has a kick, while the halibut sauce was slightly creamy but also refreshing - olive and lime perhaps? I thought the halibut was overcooked at first but the bottom half was perfectly cooked, so it seem like just the seasoned top was cooked more so. They both came from vegetables and yellow rice that soaked up the sauces well. We also got the flan which is house-made. So good, even better than the entrees. It tasted so 'fresh', don't know how else to describe it. They also had the cheesecake that night and I wonder if that's housemade as well. Wife got the mango juice which is freshly squeezed it seems and I got a bottle of Alaskan white. I do like the arctic warrior draft better but this was decent too.

We made a reservation for a larger group, yet the table wasn't ready when we arrived, and we ended up waiting much longer than expected. For a place that requires reservations, this was frustrating right from the start. The food was just okay--not terrible, but definitely not worth the price. Given our background and familiarity with Latin cuisine, we expected much more in terms of flavor and authenticity, especially considering the high cost of the dishes. The live music, which we were looking forward to, started about 30 minutes late. To make matters worse, when one of the band members didn't show up, the owner asked a member of our family--who happens to be a musician--to step in and play. Not only did this put us in an awkward position, but there was no acknowledgment or discount offered for his time, even though we had other plans to get to. Parking is also inconvenient, with only street parking or paid lot options available. The restaurant itself is very small, which does create a somewhat intimate atmosphere, but it also feels cramped for larger groups. While the owner comes across as friendly, it also felt like there was a strong focus on maximizing profit. There are multiple additional fees listed in very small print at the bottom of the menu--something that should be much more transparent or reconsidered altogether. Service overall was slow, and again, the pricing does not match the quality or experience provided. At this point, I wouldn't personally recommend this place unless there are significant improvements--better service, more consistent food quality, fairer pricing, clearer fee transparency, and better management of their live music arrangements.
