Disclaimer: I met Sophie through our kids' preschool. I've known her for 4-5 years before I became her client, but she gives all of her clients the same professional 5-star experience and service! My hair needs are relatively simple; I get a cut to shape my hair every few months, it grows out, I get another cut and reshape. I lost a lot of my hair due to trauma from spine surgery in January 2020. I also didn't know that the my head had been shaved in the back "just in case" they needed to perform surgery higher up my spine, so I was looking like the Crypt Keeper. It took 2 years for me to regrow most of my hair back, or at least make a decent ponytail to hide my hair loss. I was quite self-conscious about my hair loss, especially with my workplace reopening, people who had only seen the front of my hair on Zoom would finally see the back. I asked Sophie to help me. Sophie is a safe space. I felt comfortable enough to show her what meds and trauma had done. She asked me lots of questions. She explained what she saw, made sure we were both clear on my expectations. I also explained my daily styling and maintenance routine. I love the way my hair came out, especially with the blow out. It was like one of the few times during the pandemic and my recovery that I felt like my old self. I also brought my daughter for a trim. I noticed that her kitchen haircut from my mom was a bit crooked in the back, and mini-me had cut her own bangs on 2 different occasions. Sophie gave her a nice trim to even things out and blend the regrowth, and she braided her hair afterwards. i really admire Sophie's patience with mini-me, taking time to explain how she does her job. So I'm totally the type that is way too lazy to go to get my hair cut (last time was over a year ago, for shame!). I had long hair down to my butt that I would just throw in a bun. I have this amazing red balayage with baby lights that is fun, bold and still professional for my line of work.
