We always go for the Grand Sandwich with carnitas, ham, American cheese, and egg, and it never disappoints. Easy parking in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant was decorated for the holiday and I loved the vibe. Modern and unique, especially for this area. You can tell someone put a lot of thought into the interior. There is a fun bar area but we were there for dinner so we were seated upstairs - see picture. The servers were SO welcoming and friendly. Kristi had fun recommendations. We ordered margaritas, the spicy one and the grape one. Surprise...the grape was really good and strong pours. The food was pretty good. The popcorn cauliflower was pretty good. It reminded me of Asian orange chicken like Panda Express. The batter was a bit thick but still cooked all the way through and good. The salad was good - not really any spice though - REALLY generous portions. My friend got the street tacos - and they were also good. We ordered the churro cart for dessert. The presentation was really fun because it came in a mini cart! The churros were a bit over fried but the sugar ratio was good. It came with chocolate syrup, strawberry jam, and a white/frosting looking dip. We kind of got forgotten about towards the end of our time there but they were getting busier. So all good. FOODIE ALERT We've been talking about heading to @zoukmaya for awhile now and we've finally crossed it off our list, if you've been to MITO in Roseville then you can kind of imagine the vibes, fun decor, faux plants - this is more bright airy neutral earthy vibes. A lot of the fun fancy elevated cocktails and Mexican cuisine. I ordered the entree with carne asada that was perfectly season and cooked with a quesadilla, tender chicken flauta and an enchilada, this also came with rice and beans (honestly couldn't even get to the rice and beans because my food was so filling) Fat Tony ordered the shrimp pasta - he said was delicious and packed some lunch which he enjoys as always he asked for extra cheese. For drinks I wanted to be cute and get a fun fancy mocktail but each drink I asked for they didn't have some of the ingredients (which normally they would) so I ordered a NA Michelada but they gave me a complimentary Cinderella carriage Powerade just for fun Service was good, it was fairly slow for a Saturday night but the holidays are around the corner. My wife and I decided to try Zoukmaya because we had tried the restaurant that was previously there and had a bad experience. So when my wife told me a new Latin restaurant had taken its place, we were eager to give it a try. Upon arriving, we could see how much had changed from the previous restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised. As we went in through the back, we continued to notice how much had changed -- it truly is a brand-new restaurant. We were sat by a young lady, and Kristi was our server. She introduced herself and told us about all of the great signature cocktails they have, then took our drink order. When Kristi came back with our drinks, we ordered the Flamin' Hot Corn, and it did not disappoint. For our entrées, my wife ordered the Seafood Rice and I ordered the Salmon Salsa Verde. Both meals were very flavorful, the presentation was also very good, and the price for everything was right where it should be for great food, a great environment, and great service. The decor was top-notch, the bathrooms were clean, and Stephanie and Anna -- I think they were managers -- were very friendly and helpful. I also loved how the menu wasn't busy like many restaurants. My friend told me about this restaurant and I had to check it out. We came for dinner and parked in the back. There's an apartment and park next to the lake. Restaurant was beautiful from the outside but when we entered, cameras had to be ready. Bar and patio rooms were decorated, plus 2 dining rooms. The main floor and upstairs, which are open for parties and events. Food was delicious, we ordered the shrimp empanadas, chips and salsa also on the house. Carne Asada plate was huge, my aunt ordered the pulpo Maya which is the octopus, very tasty. The grilled peppers on the plates gave it a nice touch, no hot sauce needed. We got a tour of the room upstairs and found out they are sister restaurant to Mito. The esthetics were similar. read more

I ordered taco sampler with Baja fish (nice battered fish and fried taco shell), soft shell pastor (good flavor), hard shell chorizo (ok flavor and good toppings). All in all I will go back. This restaurant will not disappoint from the food to the service to the ambiance. I really love this restaurant it's becoming one of my favorites for sure. The drinks are really good aesthetically pleasing and well portioned. I order a margarita flight and for dinner carna asada which the portions were also big as well. The star of the show for me is the pulpo maya if you love octopus omg this is the best octopus I've had in a long time it comes with crispy potatoes rice&beans literally chefs kiss. My husband and I are local to Forest Lake, we saw this place being renovated and wanted to save our first go for a special day, well today for an early birthday celebration we finally made it! Firstly, wow this place is soo beautiful! To top off the ambiance our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and so helpful! The food; 10/10!! There were 7 of us and we were all happy with our meal of choice! My grandpa was one of those individuals and let me tell you that man never loves his meal out but.. here, LOVED IT!! Have I been here a bunch of times? Yes. Am I embarrassed? Depending on who you ask, maybe. This gem is worth a trip north of the cities. I keep coming back and waiting for them to let me down but they absolutely have not. They are firing on all cylinders and some. This place is truly one of the best restaurants in Minnesota. Put it up against other places in the state and it wins. Not even a competition. The star of the show were the drinks and the bartenders that have carefully crafted each drink. Each one is not only a spectacle but truly amazing. The food is also amazing. The staff everything is incredible. Do yourself a favor and come here. Make the drive. You won't be disappointed. The food and ambiance was good. I had a salad with steak and honey mustard dressing, my husband had 3 hard shell tacos and our daughter had pasta. It was all good. The service was not. Our waiter brought our drinks and then we did not see him for quite a while. We were not given chips and salsa. We asked a waitress for them after we saw that other guests were getting them. She said she would bring us some, but did not. We then asked a different waitress who was walking by our table for refills on our water and she did right away. After a long time, our waiter came back and we asked if we could have the complimentary chips and salsa and finally got them after our meals came. We looked around at other tables and the staff were attentive, refilling drinks, and brining chips and salsa. I was disappointed since there are good reviews. The waiter then came and brought our bill at the end, and tried striking up a conversation. Our service had been so bad that we were ready to leave. read more

We had lunch here with some friends. The four us each had something different and it was all delicious. On top of that everything was plated beautifully. I had the carnitas enchiladas with the rojas sauce. Spicy and delicious. They are served with refried black beans and rice. The rice and beans were also good. My wife the chicken sandwich. Grilled shredded chicken with pico and guac and chihuahua cheese. Also delicious. One of our friends had chicken enchiladas with the verde sauce. I don't remember what her husband's order was called. It was like a giant tamale filled with birria. They both loved their meals. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and the staff is friendly and attentive. Amazing! We went on a Monday and they were slow but the service was top notch. I will say you have to request salsa and chips and you only get one set and you get charged for any after that. The prices are higher than other Mexican restaurants but the taste is really good and portions are more on the smaller side so beware. The chicken Alfredo is foresure the best on the menu. read more

We were there to celebrate a birthday this week. Seating was stellar (outside with palm trees) our waiter was prompt and courteous without being overbearing. The food was stellar not only in taste but presentation. Appetizers were mini fluatas and croquettes - both delicious!! I would go for them alone! Drinks are interesting and presentation is a delight! Our entree's were ribs, Walleye and coconut chicken-mandarin salad. All were delicious and exquisitely prepared. It left the palette wanting more to taste. If you have not tried this establishment- do so soon. In addition, Be prepared- all who drink, are carded (including the 80 yr old). This is their policy. Here for the first time last week. It has the bones of Fireside, the previous restaurant, but it looks very different. They removed all of the booths and there are only tables. This does not give a feeling of any kind of privacy. Your table is right out there in the bright lights with everyone else. The food was good but not good enough for the prices. With Rancho Loco a few businesses down it will be very hard to compete with the higher prices for less food. There was no pop there the night I was there except for bottled Sprite and Squirt. That's it. Our waitress came over with a dessert menu when I was only half done with dinner. I told her I would look at the menu but was still eating. She came back a second time to ask if we decided on dessert despite me still eating. We said no dessert to get her to stop. It seems that the owners put a lot of time into the decor but not into the rest. I don't see a reason to go there again. read more

Aylen is hands down the single best server I've had in over 20 years. I've been in the service industry for a long time. I personally pride myself in my capabilities. Yet, she is a cut above even myself. Someone like that is a rarity to be sure. Servers like that are worth the trip alone. That's without mentioning the impecible atmosphere. Everything from the presentation of the food, and drinks. To the very quality of the ingredients used. Hands down, the single best resturaunt in the Forest Lake area. While they might not be the cheapest. It is entirely reasonable for a special night out. It's worth every penny of your hard earned money.
