I went yesterday for a spa manicure and Pedicure. A HORRIFIC experience. Since this owner took over this place has dramatically declined in service and cleanliness. I went to this place out of convenience since I was going away for vacation and needed a quick walk in place that wasn't busy. I came in for a gel pedicure and had no wait. I thought the nail tech lady was nice but she did leave paint on the cuticles. My biggest issue is that, when I was paying, I was given a total of $40. With tax that came to maybe $43-44. Totally fine. But when I asked to tip $15 on the card, rather than add my tip to the after tax amount, my new total was 55, and I was then taxed on the tip amount, which inflated the total by a few dollars more and is not standard practice because in addition to being tax on the tip, they also charge a credit card fee. This was basically the equivalent of tipping at a restaurant, then having the venue tax you on that amount. Not acceptable and not cool. Def bring cash for tips or avoid altogether! read more

BAD: Customer service is POOR and the lady who answers the calls and makes appointments is VERY RUDE when she called me back cause I wasn't there at 5 PM SHARP and told me that my being late was an inconvenience and apparently they have a lot of other appointments this evening. After a tiring day at work, I don't know what I did to deserve that attitude and rudeness. So I came in 7-8 minutes late and out of breath and the lady who answered my call (I recognized her voice) was indeed, still rude and didn't even give me a respectful greeting. I decided to ignore her behavior. I vented out to my friend who was there already for our mani/pedis and she told me the lady was also rude to her when she came in 5 minutes late. Wow, the amount of audacity of being rude to PAYING customers is astounding! GOOD: the ladies who did my mani/pedi and my friend's were sweet, efficient, polite and gentle! They both did a great job. I gave my manicurist cash tip since I was aware they charge credit card fees in this place. I'd like to add that the rude lady saying I was causing inconvenience to other "clients" after me were not there?! It was ok. I came in around 7 PM, knowing there was still an hour left before closing. I got the mani pedi, which was $30. They had two women working on me at the same time, since they start closing things up in the store at 7:15 ish apparently. Since I can only use water permeable nail polish, I brought in my own. It was an all in one nail polish (Basecoat and topcoat), so definitely less work involved in terms of adding on coats. The place isn't super glam like some of the other ones in the neighborhood but you can't really beat the price. I did feel like my experience was a little bit chaotic because both technicians were instructing me at the same time. Not really relaxing. I think I might come back here again. My advice would be to come here before 7. I would also just pay with cash so you can avoid those fees that come with using your card (They charge tax and a fee called ' non-cash fee' ). Also, do a bit of math beforehand for tipping. I was foolish and just told the cashier 15%, and didn't bother checking the receipt to see if it was correct. They put it down as a 35% tip!! read more

The prices are ridiculous!!! I spent 52 plus a 5 dollar tip for a gel pedicure. Pedicure was not worth the price I paid for and I honestly should have went to my regular salon 156 nail salon in floral park.The manicurist shaved off the gel nail polish without wearing washing hands or wearing gloves. The supplies I'm not sure if it was clean because I didn't see her open a fresh pack. I wasn't given any options on spa pedicure treatments for example hot coal treatment or callous removal. I did not get a 10 min massage (which I look forward too but didn't get) it was only 2 seconds on my right foot and my nails were cut very short. The massage chair was very old and it wasn't enough to massage my back. At the end of my pedicure the manicurist asked me if I wanted a manicure I told her no thanks. Will not come again. I HAVE FOUND MY NAIL PLACE! After moving into the area at the beginning of Covid-19, I didn't have the optio of getting my nails done fir a while. I am pretty low maintenance, but manicures are a weekly grooming habit that I couldn't wait to have back in my life again. The place was nice and clean. They took my temp and asked me to wash my hands when I arrived. They were able to fit me in the same day for a regular manicure. The people were very nice. However, I asked for almond shaped nails, which was possible since I have long nails. I showed her a photo and she said okay. She cut them a little too short, and asked if the length was okay AFTER she'd already cut my nail. And didn't really give me the almond shape I wanted, it was more of a round shape. Unfortunately I can't say that I recommend this place. The woman cutting my cuticles cut me three times. I kept saying it hurt (in Spanish so not a language barrier) the manager told her to not go over a certain spot and she kept picking at it until it bled. This happened in three different places both hands and feet. After the third time she says my skin is too sensitive and I said it wasn't. She said yes it is and then I said this hasn't happened before. Then she finally apologized. Color job wasn't the best either. I was a regular here because it's one of the better nail places in the neighborhood, and the lady who does my nails (Anna) is very kind. However, the customer service here is terrible. The man who manages appointments comes off as rude and condescending whenever you call to schedule with them, he definitely sounds like a mysoginist who is ironically surrounded by women all day. These are customers trying to give you business, try to be polite at the very least. Your business is getting by because it's an OK option in the nail salon wasteland that is Jackson Heights. I come in for at least a gel mani appointment every two weeks, which you would think they'd notice if they cared about customer retention. During my last appointment two weeks ago, I handed him my completed loyalty card with 10 sessions so I could claim the free manicure. I had just paid then, so he assured me I could apply the discount to my next appointment. I am pretty certain I left my card there, but didn't think to go back for it as I thought he would take note on my account. I asked him about it during my most recent visit, and they treated me like I was a beggar asking for free services and denied that I had given them my card the last time. If a repeat customer who tips well and pays each time tells you they completed 10 sessions to get a free manicure, wouldn't you just provide the $10 discount despite any contention regarding the card? 10 bucks means nothing to me, but the principle means a lot more. If I were Hispanic, they would have just given me the loyalty discount, no questions asked. I was looking for a place to get acrylics done, after regular mani and pedi at another place. (My to-go place) And found this place on yelp right around the corner of the other nail salon. Decided to try it only for acrylics and as soon as I walked in Cecilia greeted me with a warm smile. (She also did my nails) I didn't have an appointment and I think they are pretty busy. But it was early in the AM and she squeezed me in. (Appointment recommended and probably a MUST) I must say that she is very good and didn't hurt me at all! Not one cut or burn from the nail filing and she made sure I was happy with the outcome. I explained to her that this was my first time doing acrylics in 3+ years and that I stoped, because i never found someone that didn't hurt my nails or fingers. (I found her now! Yeiii!) They are definitely following COVID safety. My appointment was for 5:00 but I came early and they took me right away which was nice. They don't seem over book. The aesthetic of the salon was not impressive. The nail technician did do a great job, shout out to Elsa. I just had a gel mani and I'm more of a nail polish painting critic and she did a great job. This might have been because I had a late appointment and I was the last one for the day, but my attendant was rushed, didn't pay particular attention to my cuticles, and messed up the polish on one nail (the thumb pictured). She then put more polish over the messed up polish (total 4 layers) and now the top layer is peeling off. I am disappointed that my gel manicure, which should be good for two weeks, is messed up in a day. Other thoughts: The color choices were great, for both gel and regular. I was able to close my eyes and just relax during my spa pedicure. Pedicure: outstanding. She did a fantastic job and really groomed the cuticles. The massage part was relaxing. She was gentle and definitely knew what she was doing. My feet feel so clean and look beautiful! The whole pedicure lasted 40 mins. Manicure: just a regular manicure. Lasted 15 mins. or so. Customer service is definitely not the strong point of the woman who did my nails, but that's definitely not the worst of this place. I went in on a snowy day to get a full set of acrylic done since two of my nails had broken really far down. She asked me if I wanted a manicure beforehand (I was confused because I've never been to a single nail place in ten years where they didn't do a manicure first) and told me it would be an additional $8. I was pretty annoyed and declined - although I always keep my nails shaped nicely, my cuticles would have to go without being pushed back and cut. I asked her many times to make them an oval shape and although I kept telling her "more oval, please" I ended up with slightly rounded "coffin" shape. The polish job was OKAY and I dried and left spending $10 more than I have in a long time at any salon with no design or special colors. Recently I got my nails done at a different place, about two and a half weeks later. The woman doing my nails commented about the powder used was old and poor quality and it was chipping away.
