We are a group of beginner escape artists that have done 0-4 escape rooms between all 4 of us. We did the Toybox Escape Room and were slightly intimidated by the posted difficulty level. However, we had a wonderful experience overall. Our room had puzzles that interactive, but also required some skills... our group is comprised of avid board gamers and we thoroughly enjoyed the various mentions and implementation of different classic board game elements & mechanics! We completed the puzzle with time to spare and felt quite accomplished with minimal game breaking hints. Also our game master Mako was very kind, helpful and attentive. We will definitely make a return to check out the other escape room!

My husband and I just finished the Prison Break game and WHAT A BLAST! We have done escape rooms before and this one did not disappoint! The game is really well put together, fun and a great challenge. Also, Grace was working and she could not have been more of a sweetheart and made the experience even better. We will definitely be back.

It was my first time doing an escape room and I had such a blast. I honestly had no idea what I was in for since I have only heard stories from other people about these escape rooms. I had so much fun that I'd gladly come back to try one of their other rooms. Check in was quick and easy. It's very clean and tidy inside with some seating. Had to wait about 10-15 mins to wait for the other group to finish their session, but that wasn't a big deal. There are puzzles and games you can play while you're waiting your turn. Once in the room, our guide gave us a briefing of what an escape room is, the rules, what we have to do, etc. She was very informative and answered whatever questions our group had, but overall fairly simple rules to follow. I ended up losing track of time with how consumed I was after the game started. Although, we didn't end up winning, I had so much fun with everyone. After leaving the room I did notice a VR room which looked pretty fun! I might have to try the VR game next time. I highly recommend and I will definitely be back to try other rooms.

My group did both Toy Box and Prison! The rooms were very creative, and I especially love how the themes were very different from each other! We were able to escape in both rooms. The staff was very accommodating as well, and seemed very passionate about the games! I definitely recommend if you're looking for escape rooms around the bay!

The prison break room was sooooo good. There was only two of us and we have done about 5 escape rooms and we found it challenging. We needed clues and the host was nice enough to give us an additional two minutes at the end as we were really close. Maybe with a few more people it would have been easier. But it was still one of the best rooms we have done. Tons of clues to find and really unique clues and puzzles.

Came with friends for a fun escape room. We did the toy box which was challenging. I did feel like some of the mechanisms weren't as natural and there was a lag with getting hints but I feel like that is more a technology/gadget thing. Our game master Robin was super helpful and nice Definitely interesting puzzles to solve throughout.

Just did their prison break room. Been to a good amount of escape rooms already, but this is one of the best rooms that I've been to. The room was great, the puzzles were challenging. The staff is very friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. I'm very impressed with the room considering that it was made by the two staff members there. Can't wait for the other two rooms to open. Good work Zscape!! read more

I have been to around 10 escape rooms and none of them compare to the quality, service, and mind boggling clues to solve! The staff is extremely passionate about what they do, and very friendly. The two rooms themselves are immensely fun and the attention to detail that the rooms entwine in themselves is incredible. An amazing experience overall and would recommend to anyone! read more

Excellent and fun experience for my daughter on her 12th b'day with my husband and self. We did the toy box. I Highly recommend it. Because there was nobody waiting, they were very generous with us by giving us extra time - which we needed, in spite of the plethora of clues we asked for. Still - it was well worth it. And our daughter was delighted to find a birthday gift from us to her that they hid away as part of a clue. read more

My two children and I recently went to Zscape Games and experienced the "Toy Box." This was our first time there. We had an amazing time. We booked on line and showed up and got started with ease! This review is specifically for the Toy Box room that I did sometime in 2019. This was my second time doing a physical escape room. I went to one in NYC my first time and third time was another one in the East Bay. This was the most fun experience I had with escape rooms. I was with a group of 8 (or more - I forgot. It was for a friends birthday) and when you first walk into the run, my eyes lit up!! You feel like you're literally inside a Toy Box and in a live board game, etc. It made me feel like a kid again with all the decor. Super creative! This was the most organized escape room I've been in- from all the puzzles and clues. The one that created it is such a genius!! The mastermind guy was also responsive when hints were needed as we know, the time is of the essence. We didn't manage to escape but I believe we were very close. Nonetheless, it was a super fun, epic experience and highly recommend the Toy Box room! read more

We're proud to be among the first to check out San Ramon's newest (and only) escape room. At first, we were nervous because of how new it is, but that feeling went away as soon as we stepped inside. Despite being a small business, everything seems as professional as the other guys. The room was complex and complicated enough to be a challenge, and the clues (which we did rely on) were helpful. We played in their first room, which was a prison escape, but we will most certainly return when the new rooms get constructed. Give yourself a few minutes extra beforehand to navigate through the parking lot, follow the signs, and look for the blue lights on the 2nd floor. read more

Loved the theme and they really kept with the theme to get from one room to the next. This is my 4th one and will be doing more and im sure "prison break" will be in the top as we continue. our group had a great experience and these puzzles were vary clever! you can tell these guys really enjoy putting them together and want to keep it interesting. Their physical escape rooms Toy Box and Prison Box were awesome, but had a horrible experience with Space Hero's virtual reality room, which was our first time experiencing a VR escape room. Zac made it right by offering a re-do. Had a way better experience and competent staff assisting this time around. We tried out our first escape room here and we went with the prison break room. It was definitely tough to get through and we just barely made it out within the hour! Once you're able to find the first few clues, you'll know what to look out for. I would definitely come back now that I know what to expect. I want to add that the staff here is super friendly and helpful! I think his name was Zack, he thoroughly explained how it works and answered all of our questions. Definitely recommend! read more

We celebrated my son's 13th birthday party here and the kids had a blast! Most of the boys have done escape rooms before, and they agreed that this one (prison break) ranked high among their favorites even though they didn't escape in time. It was creative, challenging, and fun! I was impressed with the owner- friendly, accommodating, and passionate about creating a great business. Zscape is a great party venue. There was a table of fun logic puzzles in the lobby area to keep the kids occupied while waiting for guests to arrive. The escape room was large enough to accommodate 10 people. The owner offered to incorporate our party favors (boxes of candy) into the game at the end which was a fun (secret) surprise! Afterwards, we walked everyone over to Mountain Mike's pizza in the nearby shopping plaza, which was super convenient to Zscape's location. Great, memorable birthday party for all! We look forward to coming back to try the other rooms currently under construction. read more

We did the toy room. The decor was nice from a far but up close the walls are made of cardboard. Part of the walls were coming off, which was misleading. They just need some improvements and maintenance on props in room. Some buttons were hard to press. The staff was friendly. The toy room was fun but actually pretty challenging. We made it out with only 3 minutes to spare. read more

Hands down way better than the place we went to down south. Took 10 boys ( 11 years old) for the prison break room. The room is quiet challenging and very fun to solve. They really put the effort in creating all the puzzles. The boys requested couple hints and enjoyed every moment of it. Very easy to book and pay online and requested a call back so i can get some answers. Would definitely recommend to try this room. We have been to several escape rooms and the Toy Box room was really great! They have a lot of different type of puzzles to figure out (vs. some escape rooms basically just make you solve the same type of puzzle over and over again - which gets boring). You can tell that the owners put a lot of thought into the varied clues and are escape room enthusiasts. I did this room last year with a bunch of moms and teenage girls... and my son did it last month with a bunch of his high school friends. Both sets of groups loved the Toy Box room! read more

Hello, my name is Zac. I opened this business in January 2018 when I was 21 years old. I have poured everything into this business so that people can experience a fun and exciting new adventure. I am extremely passionate about making escape rooms. All the experiences and games have been hand built through countless hours of work. As you can see by the dates, we were affected by covid, no covid relief grants, but we are still standing and slowly coming back stronger. Please help support your local small businesses. It had all of the high notes that I expected (I'm not gonna do any spoiler alerts obviously but if you have done even one escape room, you know what I'm talking about), with a ton of surprises, and very high-quality voice actors for the Scooby-Doo room. It was an hour and if if there had been four of us, we would've been able to access a 15% off coupon but it's totally fine that we paid full price because it's a weekend after all. Things were in very good condition physically and I love the steampunk design aspects of the business itself. There were infinite, unlimited hints that we could access if we wanted. Best of all there were no penalties for using those hints. I would 100% do it again even the same room! Even though we solved everything! Because WOW things rolled by like a blur! One thing I would like to request is their T-shirts that you can buy we're available on the website and also that the T-shirts were available in sizes 3X through 10X. We definitely would've bought some!

The games are the right length for the 1-hour duration, the puzzles are sufficiently complex, and the rooms are very well designed with high-quality props. The staff are all very friendly and attentive to the games, checking in at an appropriate frequency. My favorites in order were (1) Medusa, (2) Three Kingdoms, (3) Back to Childhood*, and (4) Frankenstein, though all of them are worth doing. You can ask for a discount code on future games after you complete your first one. *Back to Childhood was different from the rest, definitely on the easier side but more focused on the fun theme and nostalgia elements.

Our game was the pirate themed Depths of Osiris (check out the preview vids on YouTube), and it was perfect for a team of an adult and two ten year olds. My boys had no trouble getting used to the VR gear they had to wear for the experience (a headset and two hand controllers - it was their first time). We had to cooperate to solve each room's puzzle to unlock a new room. Eventually, we got to the final scenario which was exciting and really required us to collaborate. The puzzles were well constructed and mostly understandable from a logic perspective. The graphics and sound were pretty decent (it's not super-high res like Cyberpunk) and matched the gameplay perfectly. We got some timely tips from the game master too, and cleared the puzzle with about a minute left on our 45 minute timer. The facilities are super clean and well maintained. They also have snacks and drinks which are nice to make the visit special for younger kids. My sons want to come back, and I do too. I also heard they are adding a physical escape room, so definitely something to look forward to.

Two members of our group are well-versed in escape rooms and we required clues several times from our Game Master. While the room was well decorated to the theme, it was small and only had a smaller second room (more like a hallway). I'd say 6 adults in this room is the max, and even then you'd need to assign each person a section cuz there wouldn't be room for everyone to move around freely. I do have a few other complaints: - a couple clues and one solution was NOT from the 80s - we were able to skip solving a puzzle entirely and still escape. This means we were left with "extra" clues that we didn't need. Very confusing. -we felt one solution to a puzzle was not something most regular folks would figure out without a clue unless they had extensive knowledge of how escape room puzzles work -one clue apparatus was not fiddle-proof. Meaning one of our team fiddled with it and rendered it not working properly to dispense the clue. The game master had to come in and fix it for us Speaking of our Game Master, she was great! I wish I remembered her name. It was short, like 4 letters, with an "s" on the end. She gave us clues in a timely manner when we needed them, led us on the right track when it was obvious we were way off base, and explained the "leftover" puzzle.

I was so scared that I couldn't help screaming throughout the game. Our gamemaster was right; we didn't need live actors to make it scary. It was so scary and realistic that I wanted to vomit when we were playing. We also played Agent Tokyo a few months ago. That was fun too, but it wasn't scary. I recommend this room if you're into horror.

To enter the building for your game, you have to fill out a waiver via QR, and then call someone to…read morelet you in. There is a photo op with various props in the corner of the lobby as well as branded apparel for purchase. We were told that we had three free clues, and any more would cost us time (you can do social media for extra time). We attended wizard school, which is rated medium/hard (same as the other ones at this location in Livermore). Based on the theming, bringing a Harry Potter fan in your group is mandatory - it's filled with tons of references to the series which was pretty neat to see. The first room we were in was surprisingly huge and intricate, and was also the room in which a majority of the game takes place. We solved the first several puzzles relatively well after we took some time to take in everything. It felt immersive, like we had been transported to a magical room in an alternate universe opposed to just a room that was decorated. The puzzles utilized pattern recognition, literal interpretation, symbols and translation, listening to instructions, riddles, interaction with room elements, hidden object games, astrology, and more. We've been to a few different escape rooms, and consider our experience at Limitless Escape Games to be one of the hardest we've done. You can tell one person put a lot of thought, passion, and ideas in the puzzles, as they were quite detailed, clever, and cohesive - progressing through the puzzles aided to the storytelling. That being said, the structure seemed a bit linear in that we had to focus on one puzzle at a time and couldn't do much until something was resolved. Our party of two ended up failing out of wizard school pretty horribly, as we just spent too long on one of the puzzles and didn't want to take a clue out of stubbornness. The puzzle we were trying to solve was... lagging. As well, we asked for a hint but didn't get it for a couple minutes because they weren't paying attention. Our game master kindly showed us how to resolve the rest of the room, though, and made us feel better by letting us know that the escape rate is roughly 1/3. He also told us that their other locations feature more high-tech rooms, such as the ones in Pleasanton which we hope to try in the future! We were offered a discount for the rest of the day if we wanted to book future games, which was basically the same price as their Groupon. While disappointed at our failure, we did really enjoy the thoughtfulness of the theming and puzzles offered here which do differ drastically from escape room chains. I'd say this experience was a lot harder than the typical escape room, so I wouldn't recommend it for complete beginners; that being said, it's amazing if you want a challenge!

We were going to do an offsite with a location based one but timing and location wasn't working for us so I thought I'd try breakout IQ. I'm so glad I did! It is a true test of team building and communication. The facilitation at the start was great. It really spoke to what I wanted my staff and me to get out of it. And the debrief was on par as well. It fit in nicely with the theme of our day long retreat. Besides fun it was educational on an individual and group level. The escape room is behind a curtain and there are helpful employees to keep the kids on track and assist when needed. And they learned actual science concepts while working! What would've made this a 5 star experience if the room had ventilation or if the AC was turned on, just to circulate the room as our group was literally sweating trying to solve the case. We called the host 3 times to get assistance. She was very friendly and provided great hints. Ultimately, we ran out of time and didn't escape. Some of my group members that the flow could've been better in terms of structure or layout of the room. Overall, I did enjoy myself even though I'm indifferent about escape rooms. #35/2022

On the first day, one coach kicked a ball into my son's head and then disappeared for the rest of the week. My son came home every day saying he learned no soccer skills because there was little to no coaching. They didn't even play soccer on the last day. Most activities were random games unrelated to soccer. Afternoons consisted mainly of crafts, Legos, and a bounce house--fun activities, but not what was advertised. The check-in process was also disorganized. The receptionist repeatedly struggled to find my son's registration because she was confused about first and last names, despite his information being clearly visible in the system. She claims everyone makes mistake and that's ok, please tell this to your boss, not me. This camp has potential, but it is poorly managed and does not deliver what it promises. Updated based on Russ's feedback - the name in the system was correct because when your receptionist can't find it and handed me the iPad, I was able to look it up and it looks right. However, looks like it was sorted by first name but she asked for last name. I understand it was supposed to be very structured, but during class, it was not the case. My son even asked the coach to teach him how to kick and shoot better but the coach ignored him.

What a super cool outcome that was! In addition to art, Devina also teaches public speaking, which has helped my daughter understand how to write outlines, make better arguments, reduce filler words and project better body language. Most importantly it has helped boost her self confidence! Devina is not just a teacher - she is invested in the development of your child all along the way, which is not something you'd get in some of the best teachers. It's about 3 miles if you go all the way to the driving range at Bridges Golf Course. At that point the trail peters out. It looks like they are constructing a new trailhead there. The trail is open, so don't count on any shade in the summer. It's pretty much green hills, with a compacted dirt trail. Fortunately, it's not rutted. I found the hike mildly interesting, but honestly, nothing special. Near the golf course practice center, I saw a lot of range balls on the ground. I was tempted to take them, but I threw most of them back onto the range. I'm pretty sure I did not hit anyone, but a few times I heard some klunks, followed by shouts. I wasn't sure what that meant. They might have been mad that I still had 2 golf balls in my jacket. I did not notice I had borrowed some golf balls until I was pretty far away. These trails are good for beginner hikers, since there aren't any wild animals around. I'm pretty sure there aren't any rattlesnakes or mountain lions. But if there are, I did not see them. And even if I did see any, I had some golf balls I could throw at them. The only wild animals are herds of cows. And there are lots of them! At one point I had to go way around a huge herd. I'm not really afraid of cows, but one kept looking at me with menacing eyes and did not budge from the trail. I was afraid of that one. Could it be a boy cow? I was afraid to get close to find out, so I honestly don't know if it was a boy or girl cow. But he or she looked mean. The whole time I went around the cows I kept saying pleasant things like, "Hi Susie," or "Hi Betsy, how are you?" I'm pretty sure they knew I was a friendly man. I was surprised they knew English. So over all, a pleasant hike. Nothing really special, but plenty of parking makes this a convenient location. The incline is really not too steep, so most hikers will find this an easy hike. For yelpers who are geocachers, there are plenty of geocaches on this trail. I put out about 8 new ones, so there will be lots to find. Keep in mind that there really aren't any facilities such as restrooms or drinking faucets. On the other hand, it's really not a very long hike. Just watch out for that cow with the mean looking eyes.

Coleman was our game master tonight for Toy Box. Our group of 3 had a great time. We've done about 15 escape rooms and this was one of the best. Very challenging and creative puzzles.
