I moved from the Berkshires quite some time ago, but always enjoy coming to this place for dinner with my Mom. This past Friday I was a bit put off by a pricier menu, very slow service and rather limited variety. The vegetable was brussel sprouts. I asked for something different and the waitress nly offered to double the potato. How many people really like brussell sprouts? Maybe 20% of the population. They arrived with the dinner and I tried one anyways, I had to spit it out before I could swallow it...YUK ! Asparagus was available with another special...why not with a menu item? This is a quaint little Italian place just a bit away from Jiminy Mountain, and it was divine. The atmosphere was nice and so was our waitress, who you can tell puts the diners first. The pizza also was delicious and nicely personally sized (the small) and was cooked to a t. Also, save room for dessert because the cinnamon and gingerbread ice cream sandwich was out of this world. 10/10 would return. read more

The food is very unexceptional. We ordered nachos, fried zucchini, and chicken finger as appetizers and grilled NY strips for entree. Fried zucchini was the only thing worth a second bite. Chicken finger was dry. Nachos was average. The Grilled NY strips was probably the worse steak I have ever had. Granted it is bad or a disaster, but there was just nothing appetizing about it. Really wanted to like this place. The menu looked great so we called in a to go order. One of the items was wrong but not worth the 25 min drive back. Food was ok. Gave them another try a few days later. Three of the five items we ordered were wrong. Maybe it's better if you dine-in but definitely recommend checking your to go order before you leave. read more

My wife and I visited the restaurant this evening. I agree with so many others on the food being tasty and well presented to the extraordinary time to be served and even to be seated. We were going to order desert but after another long wait the waitress told us her boyfriend had ordered desert and she had time to eat half, we told her we had waited so long we were all set and went to Ben and Jerry's instead. Slow service is a reflection of management in my opinion. Management doesn't care if customers are being served promptly, neither will the wait staff. If I have my druthers I will take good food over slow waitress. I can at least show my appreciation for a slow wait staff by my tip. read more

We came here for lunch on a weekday. We walked in the front door, but there was no host at the front - just a cook on the phone, eyeballing us. After waiting a few minutes for someone to show up (or for the cook to send someone over), we decided we'd be fine sitting at the bar. We sat ourselves. There were two waitresses behind the bar. Both of them were futzing with the computer. One turned around, made eye contact with me, then turn backed to the computer. She didn't greet us. She didn't say anything at all, actually. After waiting like this for a few more minutes, a white man in a suit walked into the room. The two waitresses jumped to attention. We could see where this was going, so we got up to leave. The waitress said -- and these were here first words to us -- "where are you two going?" There was no apology, just an explanation that she "was going to get to us." I have loved Zucchini's for years. The owner, Lynn, and her husband are well known business owner/ chefs in the area and prepare some of the best food around. I highly recommend the veal parm dinner. I have yet to try their pizzas, but word around town is that they are very good too! The owner endeavors to buy and use locally grown products as much as possible which is a big plus for me. The place has a large room on the lower level that is perfect for private functions and it has a private bar area too!! read more

Me and my sweetheart hit up Zucchini's last night (Saturday) around 7. We were seated outside as we requested. It was nice out there with no bugs but the view wasn't anything to brag about. The hostess was literally 11 years old (we asked our waitress who said she was related to the owner) but she was cute and nice. We started off with drinks. I got a pink lemonade margarita and she got a "Jen's Martini". Both were consumed without complaint.... shocking! Our salads were rather bland, mostly iceberg lettuce but the bread was delicious. I had the penne a la vodka with shrimp. The taste was good but I thought the shrimp amount was rather cheap and the vodka sauce was from a can. Sweetheart got a fried veal dish which she loved. Our bill with 2 rounds of drinks, salads and meals was $67 plus tip. read more

I've been coming here for a while now and I really enjoy the food and atmosphere. The fresh bread at the table before dinner is nice but you don't always get it. I'm not sure what the "rules" are for the bread but sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't. It's not consistent. It really doesn't matter what you order either. I've seen tables around us get bread while ours didn't and we had ordered $18 dinners. It's confusing. They should just bring bread to everyone. I had to knock a couple stars off because as other reviewers have stated, this place is a bit pricey for what you get. I also don't like how they can charge you $16+ for a pasta dish and yet it doesn't even come with a side salad. Other places around here include a small salad with dishes like that. If they revamped some of their prices or at least included more with the meal then this place would get better ratings. I will keep coming back but only on the rare occasion due to the price and portions. read more

The only reason this is a 4 star review is the fact they charge for soda refills... Really? So the food is amazing! My favorite is the chicken franchise. Absolutely delicious. The sides are semi fixed. It comes with certain sides but there are 2 or 3 substitutes. I've been here as a table of 3 and on multiple occasions a party of 10+. Decent Italian in western MA? You bet! The pizza is doughy and not my style, I prefer thin crust, but the sauce and cheese were good. The fried calamari was properly cooked and tender. The PEI mussels were outstanding. My dining partners thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. Selection of craft beers is a bit wanting, but it's an Italian restaurant, not a beer bar. Also the server decided to take $.13 cents of my change as my bill was $47.87 and I gave her $60,00 and got $12,00 in change. Do not waste your time or money here. Service poor and food not much better. Had fried zucchini appetizer, scallop entree and veal parmigiana entree. Appetizer was tasteless. Fried beading was better description. Salads were ok. Mixed greens unwashed and dressing unremarkable, perhaps from a jar. No bread served with salads. Both Dinners were over cooked, over breaded and sauces were in excess and overpowering. Scallop entree had an Accompanying sweet potato cake that was mixed with so much basil it tasted of medicine. The server was abrupt and barely welcoming. When asked what the soup was that evening she replied " it's in the list" and pointed to sheet of paper on table that was buried beneath menus when hostess showed us to booth and placed menus on table. The server auctioned food off and handed me my entree instead of serving. The other servers were clearing and cleaning tables around us as we ate and because they were spraying cleaner directly on to the table instead of into a cleaning cloth, we were inhaling cleaner as we were attempting to eat. Clearly no server training. A shame The Berkshires host this restaurant. I was dining in this restaurant to see if it was a candidate for a company Holiday Party. Interestingly, this was on a competing review site but not Yelp (until I added it). I was totally in the mood for Italian food when my wife spotted it and did a fast and furious-style u-turn. The place is huge - space for hundreds of patrons and an area for banquets as well. Once here, you are transported back to the 1980's - decor, cuisine, and music included. It's like time literally stopped at this place. Pizza toppings that haven't changed in decades; methods of cooking that were once thought dead are alive and well here. Dishes like chicken franchese fill the menu. The vibe was so perfectly 80's that the Breakfast Club theme song came on during our meal! You would almost swear they were doing it as a gag, but nope - perfectly legit. We started with a large salad, tasty and fresh and served with warm bread. Dressing seemed bottled, but the Italian dressing was decent enough with a touch of added salt and pepper. We stuck to pizzas - one was the margherita and the other was a self created one. The pizzas were awesome - hands down yummy goodness. Obviously hand done, baked with a thin crust and above average cheese and sauce. This is a solid "good" restaurant for an old school Italian meal. We had the worlds worst meal. Chicken parm tasted like frozen chicken and canned sauce. We were very disappointed the meal was over priced and we could have stayed home and ate frozen meals for less. We ordered to go food for Christmas Eve, they had a half tray of sausage peppers and onions for $40. When we put it out that evening, we found at most 3-4 sausage links cut up, minimal peppers and onions with a lot of marinara sauce. This was not close to meeting expectations. read more

Went here last week with my wife and daughter. I had a seafood risotto which was very good. My wife had a large salad with chicken and bacon. Also very good. My daughter had a pasta dish with fresh vegetables. She absolutely loved it. Overall a very good experience. Knocked off a star for price. Prices reflect a much more upscale area. read more

We went to Zucchini based on a recommendation from the staff at a nearby golf course, where my daughter was participating in a weekend tournament. We shared the Bruschetta, a BBQ Chicken Pizza, the Pasta Pomodoro with Meatballs , and a Tiramisu. They were all excellent. The meatballs were absolutely delicious, and the dough for the pizza might be the best I've ever had. This place is conveniently located with plenty of free parking. If I'm ever back in Pittsfield Mass. again I will most definitely be going back. read more

Prior to this visit my experience with this restaurant was a wedding reception and a funeral luncheon 5 plus years ago. In Those situations the food is limited and basically chosen for the guest. In our smaller group the menu was basic cuisine. We had a reservation but still had to wait. As previous reviews state we waited at least 10 minutes before a waitperson came to our table after sitting. The food was okay, nothing great. I ordered a shrimp and scallop dish, the scallops tasted like soap and were overdone, however the shrimp tasted better. Also, it was a dry table none of us ordered any alcohol but when my young nephew asked for another soda he was given a rum and coke. The waitress didn't seem too concerned with that mistake. The prices were fine but the other issues make it easy not to return. read more

At one point the waitress said our food was coming up. A half hour later I asked if there Was a problem, She said no. Happy New Year! I wish our experience last night would've been better, and I'm giving one star solely because the food was good for the most part. But we came in with a large party of 25 and Lynn and co simply were not prepared to deal with this many people. To be honest, they should've declined the reservation or maybe offered only a limited menu. We had 14 children all under 12 and these kids waited 2 hours to eat. No exaggeration. And all of you parents know exactly how bad that is. Our reservation was at 7:30 and we were on time. We only had one server. It took a while to get drinks (moms handed them out ourselves!). Apps came at 9 and first plates at 9:30. My own dinner arrived at nearly 10pm. Ultimately we got a 10 pct discount on the whole bill. But not a single time did Lynn or anyone else walk upstairs to apologize and offer a fix of some kind like a few pizzas or anything to help remedy what I would call a disaster. I'm sorry to say none of us will try them ever again. Mazzeos right down the road handled our group the night before a lot better. read more

I've heard a lot of great things about this place. Traveled from NY to the area and made it a point to come here. Well......... First there was a broccoli sprout in my water.... Ok... New one came out. The meal we ordered for $15.00 didn't come with a salad.... After asking the waitress about the dressings... I chose one and our order was put in. My boyfriend got his salad.....and I did not. The waitress never came over to ck on us ... Nor did we see her the whole time he was eating the salad. Then our meal came out.. So I told her to cancel my salad and she was like ohh you wanted one?... Why else would I have asked what types of dressings they had and requested it on the side....and no it didn't stop there. The meatballs had a huge chunk of fat in it.... And really I mean huge! So much that I was getting a little bit sick and decided not to eat my dinner... Left feeling like my experience was bad and we were visiting for a fun weekend . Just not sure why no one came out to apologize or to make our bad experience better.... We stop here at least once on every trip to the Berkshires. Food, which includes home grown veggies and fresh baked bread, is always delicious.
