everything is so well executed. The atmosphere, the service of food......... I had the fettuccine, and I could taste every single thing that was in it. My taste buds thought they were at a carnival. They don't serve vodka because they want or tasteless in the restaurant. So I had a Manhattan instead of martini I think everybody in there believes in what they're doing I really don't understand how I could reserve a table Saturday morning or Saturday evening and get one. It is so much better than restaurants that are so much harder to get a reservation

The host and our waitress were very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful when we needed directions to Naumkeag and we had no cell service!

Godfrey was our waiter, very attentive and pleasant. He was assisted by servers who brought food from the kitchen. We had identical meals. The black lentil soup (soup of the day) was very good. We shared a wedge salad lettuce with halved cherry tomatoes, bacon bits and chopped fried onions and it was super. I'm not big on dressing as a whole, but it was quite flavorful. We each had the smash burger. It's two thin patties made from sirloin and ribeye coated with cheddar cheese placed on chopped lettuce and tomato, resting on a fresh roll. It was hot and so juicy and delicious. The only drawback for the entire meal was that the fries were over cooked. For dessert my wife had the apple pie with ice cream, I had the brown sugar cake with coffee ice cream. Both simple, yet scrumptious. Overall a delicious meal, it seemed expensive, but we had wine. FYI, we saw others being served the fish and chips (Cod) and it looked great.

Ombra -- Subtle. Seductive. Memorable…read more When you are a wine afficionada you seek out the best wine bars wherever you go. Welcome to Ombra in Lenox, MA. Lenox has some really cool spots and Ombra is one of them. Recommended by a local, we stopped here on Valentine's Day after our dinner for a nice glass of wine. The place was crowded but luckily a few people were leaving so we scored some seats at the bar. I ordered a glass of Nebbiolo from Italy which was good. My husband had a beer. The place is so cute and very romantic with dim lights, a great wine selection and their food looked so good. Unfortunately, we were so full that we did not end up ordering anything. Although, the french fries were calling my name. Ombra is a place that I could see us coming to almost every week and not getting tired of it. We met a local who is very nice and told us how Ombra is very popular. I think we will have to come back in the spring/summer to get those french fries :) If you are ever in Lenox definitely make your way to Ombra for a nice glass of wine or try a cocktail. This is the perfect date night spot for sure whether you start or end your evening here, you will be happy! Cheers~

What made the experience even more special was the hospitality. After the Tanglewood concert on a Sunday night, the staff recognized that many concertgoers were looking for a place to eat and graciously stayed open later to accommodate everyone. That level of customer service is rare and speaks volumes about how much they care about their guests. Outstanding food, exceptional hospitality, and an experience I'll be talking about for a long time. I can't wait to come back.

A Valentine's dinner that did not impress!…read more Valentine's has always been a very special holiday for me. My husband and I decided to spend the weekend in the Berkshires, which was lovely and quiet. I made reservations ahead of time for this highly rated wine bar and very close to where we were staying. First off, due to the previous weather/storms they had no street parking. But luckily we parked in a nearby lot. Upon arrival, the restaurant bar area was very nice and romantic. The server brought us to our table but I was a bit disappointed in the ambiance. I mean the bar area was a bit darker and the table that we were being seated at had a lot of light. Now, don't get me wrong, It was Valentine's day which screams romantic and there was no romantic vibe to this restaurant. After mentioning this to our server she did move us and turned down the lights a bit which was much better. Food/Drinks: The menu was not big at all which was nice. I ordered a dirty martini to start which needed more olive juice and my husband ordered a rum cocktail which he enjoyed. For starters, I ordered their Over Roasted Parsnip which was very good and filling. My husband had their Beet Salad which he said was excellent. For entrees, I had their Seared Duck Breast. I really enjoyed the caramel sauce but did not love the duck itself. My husband had the Oven Roasted Chicken Statler which was very dry he could barley eat it. Also, since this is a wine bar I will say the wines were nothing special which was also a bit disappointing. I wish they had something unique and special to offer especially being on a Valentine's Day. I feel this place may be more of a summer destination. Service: Service was excellent I will say. Our server was always asking how things were, checking on us and if we needed anything and asking about any additional drinks. etc. Also, the Manager came over to ask how everything was but he spefically looked at me. I think my husband would've mentioned his meal being dry if he looked at him as well but my husband could've spoken up too. We did say something to our server after she asked about the chicken dish, which they ended up taken off the bill which was very nice. Overall: I didn't love Alta Wine Bar my first time here, but I would come back in the spring or summer months when the weather is warm to try it again. Cheers~

Upon arriving, our table was ready up near the front window which allowed for fun people-watching. Our waiter did a good job - drinks were fine, menu was a bit limited if one is looking for a nice entree offering, but we selected hangar steak, fish & chips, homemade pasta bowl, etc and they were fine. The one problem which turned a perfectly good experience into one which all of my guests commented on was that after dropping $500 moments earlier, we waited by the host's stand to use the restroom, and each time the waiter/owner? passed by, he said excuse me in an irritated manner, even though a couple times he wasn't even bringing any food out. We were not blocking the passageway nor creating any noise - just waiting for the restroom after dining at their establishment. A little attitude adjustment for his guests' patronage (or an additional restroom) would've made all the difference in whether guests would choose to return to his establishment. Ah well.. thank goodness we in the Berkshires have lots of wonderful options!

Seasonal vegetable plate was just ok, and expensive for what it was (grilled vegetables). Beverages were good though : had glass of Barbara wine and a NA beer.
