All we had was a small store, not much larger than a kiosk when I was a kid. This is a big store with a big selection, completely catering to the skate and snow culture! There were many items on sale making them very attractive because of the value the sale presented. I also have to mention the gentleman working the floor. Though, this location does not have good customer service and the attitude makes the atmosphere bland while shopping. I could shop anywhere or buy direct through the brand but I choose Zumiez. Now I'm will rethink the decision and also not advise anyone to shop there. I am a frequent shopper of Zumiez for myself and my 13 yr old kid. I went in today and it was a spur of the moment thing to grab a shirt for my kid. I didn't even have my purse with my just my card, keys and phone. I was running around get last minute start of school stuff and looked like a busy mom (even though that's not a factor). I felt as I was profiled by your associate Collin. When I asked for help I think he wasn't genuine trying to help just using a "lost prevention tactic". I did go to purchase a shirt and gave my membership information to purchase and I was .30 cents short. He told me that I needed to get the .30 for the purchase. I know it's not his responsibility to have that .30 cents but it would have been a good time to show some compassion. My phone died which I told him so I couldn't use my Apple pay. I went all the way to the car to charge my phone then came back in to purchase it....my last purchase from Zumiez. Next day Are all of your employees on drugs or something? My kid begged me to go check out Zumiez after not finding a shirt else were in the mall. He had on a Vans thrasher shirt I purchased the day before and had a bad experience. The manager Drew greeted us as we were coming in and while shopping my kid tried on shirts and we interacted with him though the other two employees were playing around the store. They all were acting a little weird. When we went to check out and Drew ask me if I was going to pay for the shirt my son was wearing....he said the price tag was still on and there was no tag just the shirt tag sticking out from him trying on the shirt. He said my bad... wow SECOND TIME PROFILING... he accused us of trying to steal.... then the associates Carson Jental and Tay proceeds to tell me I was wrong for feeling offended and was very rude...this was after my purchase....if it wasn't for my son being there I would have returned the item and went elsewhere where....this is really a final for me.

Some of the Kuhl pants were a good price. This one is a bit larger than other stand alone stores. They have a really good selection of shoes and they aren't all merged together in one area like the other S&S stores, men's was on one side, women's on another. I was very impressed.

We arrived today Saturday, August 2, 2025 around 2:30pm. There were two gentlemen facing us upon entry that I assumed were going to greet us. Instead they were chatting it up and couldn't be bothered by us. But I get it, maybe the conversation was good. Next we traveled towards the back of the store to check out their shoe selection. There were over 20 people standing around waiting. I saw no employees in the shoe department. We hung around for about 10 minutes and then decided to take our business elsewhere. While walking towards the exit around 2:44pm I said to my wife I wonder where all the help is located and that's when I saw it. There were 6 employees standing at the front counter chatting away. A few gentlemen even high fived one another. But once again upon leaving no one could've been bothered by us enough to say have a good day. Before writing this review, I scrolled through the history of reviews and observed only one from 3 years ago that spoke to the customer service of the place and they stated it was a terrible experience. I can't blame the employees. I blame the leadership. They should hold their team accountable. With poor leadership follows poor employee service. Do better Dick's. I'm sorely disappointed in today's experience and do not plan to return anytime soon.

    As a former employee who use to work here during the summer, I would like to leave some tips and…read morepointers to hopefully help anyone present or future. When calling the store... I am not sure why the phone system takes you back and forth with the calls and transfers, INSTEAD, next you call dial '0' (zero) and it will send you straight to the store phone with someone immediately, NO wait time! Wanting to buy an item but want to make sure they have before driving to location or could be the last in stock?... Again, when calling the store always dial '0' (zero) to be sent straight to someone who has the store phone. It was crucial a manager or team leader would have the phone and must answer at all times. Now say you want to be sure possibly the item you want is actually there, depending on the item they will transfer you to the department needed and an associate will try to check for the item straight away. (Best Tip: depending on item, it is best to have a "SKU number" handy, this will help them best see the item you want in the system and all details for it.) Questions for online, curbside, in store pick up orders... #1 rule at Academy, THEY CANNOT PUT ITEMS ON HOLD! They will always suggest to order online, why is it best? You order will have a 7 days period to pick up, after that it will go back on floor, payment amount will be put on HOLD, not charged, until AFTER COMPLETED pick up. If order is CANCELLED, simple reasons are the item(s) are they DO NOT have them. Regardless of what the system says, system/online is NOT always accurate. Better to call and verify. Now since order is cancelled, you will NOT BE CHARGED! Depending on bank, it will take 2-3 business days for the full refund. I will admit compared to other stores, the emails TAKE FOREVER to notify you that your order is ready/ been picked up/ or cancelled. Merchandise info... 3 trucks arrive throughout the week, they do not know what they will get UNTIL IT ARRIVES. So any questions about certain clothes, shoes, ammunition, grills, play sets, etc. won't be truly known until they receive shipment. Wanting items built, shipped, or delivered... Many times people wanted their bikes, grills, and even play houses built and be ready for pick up for a certain day. Depending on item, it can be built but there is a third party builder, meaning they won't always be there and if so it will only be once a week. Certain items can be shipped or delivered to home, depending on item there may be a shipping charge, like a playground set or even a grill. IT ALL DEPENDS ON ITEM & LOCATION! Having to wait a long time, or no one there to help... Since the pandemic, every business has been affected one way or another, either short staffed or illnesses. In this case, many people are hired by what they know or are only trained to do for the acquired job. Meaning someone taking care of the clothing department can't say they know everything and anything about certain guns or ammunition. Or a cashier knowing every bit of information about a certain bike or athletic gear. Waiting a long time to get help will be one of the following: someone for that department is busy helping a customer or another associate with some task request, short staffed or no one is there for that department, getting held up with customer after customer. IT HAPPENS, but please be understanding many places are SHORT STAFFED, so someone can't always help immediately or be there in 2.5 seconds. Really want to grab managers attention by how your experience went?... After every purchase, BOTTOM OF RECEIPT! A survey to let the store know how your experience was, if you received help and if so who? (Name of employee) Was there anything good/bad about your visit, if bad then how can store improve? THESE REVIEWS ARE SEEN BY MANAGERS EVERYDAY! So they truly MATTER, even if you go for a simple purchase of a cup to a cart full of items, this will let managers know what happened and how to fix it. If you guys experience any issues or questions let me know, I'll be more than happy to help. I'm just trying to pass along advice to help anyone in anyway.

Beyond being a genuinely great guy, he is insanely knowledgeable about bikes. He shared that it's been his passion since he was a young kid, and it absolutely shows in his work. He serviced two of our bikes (an ElliptiGO 8c and a Schwinn Sivica comfort cruiser) in less than an hour. Working right out of his BikeMedics van, he swapped out the brakes, lubricated the gears, and even washed them both down so they looked as good as new! He got everything done perfectly on the spot. But the absolute best part was that he actually took the time to show us how to properly operate the bikes. He shared some great tips and tricks, and even taught us how to fix small things ourselves in case they ever break. Nate is officially our forever bike guy. Do yourself a favor and skip the big box stores: you'll get way better service, learn a lot, and possibly even save some money by going with BikeMedics. I really appreciated the convenience of his mobile setup and his top-tier service. If you need bike repairs in Dallas, look no further. Highly recommend!
