Daya recognizes me when I come in, whether with my kid or not and is a friendly face that makes me feel genuinely happy to come back and shop. Daya is always dressed to impress! And that why when I'm trying clothes on and I'm unsure, I always come out to ask about fit and style and if I should purchase what I'm trying on or not. They are always honest (which I really appreciate) and I legit can't wait to come back to shop. In store shopping is way more fun for me than online. I've purchased pieces that will definitely be in my closet for the long haul without breaking the bank! Because either I've sold things that's no longer fit me or because it's much cheaper (or both!) When selling, they don't buy everything, but communication and asking questions always helps so I know what to bring in next time. There was no possible way I was leaving without a pair of shoes, less I endure the sight of his bright smile faltering for just one second. And I don't regret it. But there's more. You see I missed my flight this morning because of a delay and the airline had to reschedule it all, and comp me a hotel room near this shopping mall. So instead of going home today, I'm stuck next to 20 acres of retail, which thankfully includes bars. Four margaritas in, I'm wandering around again and I see him walking a couple out. Each has the exact same bag that I had, with the same blue box emblazoned with the same brand. They are praising him for his knowledge and thanking him for the $600 they just dropped. Corporate, if you're reading this, this dude is regional manager material. I wanted to slap him high five, and yell, "Bro! Hoka! F@&k yeah!!" But that seemed like it would be a lot. And none of those three had been drinking margaritas all day. Anyway, point is, buy some shoes here.

Instead of slinging boxes at me and leaving me to sort it out, the salesperson, Susan, helped me through the entire visit. She listened to what I needed and was very knowledgeable about the shoes and proper fit. It took 10-12 pairs to find what I was looking for and she was upbeat and kind the whole time, while also helping several other customers. I ended up with two pairs of walking shoes that are not only comfortable, but super cute! Best shoe shopping experience I've had in years and I'm actually looking forward to my next visit.

This Columbia Outlet store had so many great deals, it was overwhelming…read more I stopped by here yesterday afternoon because I'm in the market for some new winter outerwear. I was specifically hoping to find boots and/or a jacket. On top of having an entire floor full of clearance jackets, they also had about a dozen racks under tents outside of the store. It seemed like they probably had every Columbia jacket that had been made within the past few years. There was also a ton of Mountain Hardware and Sorel. The Mountain Hardware jackets were about 25-50% off, which was still significantly cheaper than REI or anywhere else that I know of. I ended up feeling so overwhelmed by the jacket selection that I decided I needed to do some research, and come back. I ended up leaving with two pairs of snow boots: 1 Columbia, and 1 Sorel. I got both pairs for $55, including tax and a very small roundup for the National Park fund. I've been looking for boots for a couple of weeks, and the cheapest I've found comparable boots anywhere else was anywhere from $69-129. So, I was beyond stoked to find two pairs I liked in the clearance section. They were also having a store wide BOGO half-off sale, which is how the total ended up so low. I didn't have, and have actually never had any of the issues with outlet stores that other people brought up in their reviews. I used to work at the outlets in Folsom. Most of the merchandise isn't damaged or defective-- it's just overstock or barely out of season. The boots that I purchased are honestly of similar quality to brand new boots from DSW. I just got really lucky (and have a seventh sense for when things will be on sale due to all my years of working in retail). Staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and I would definitely shop here again.

Just like a few of the reviewers with femme-sounding names and profile pictures, I've had…read moreconsistently unpleasant, downright haughty and passive aggressive "customer service" experiences here by a white male employee named Max, who I'm guessing is a lead and the same man as a few others reviewed. Max has also mansplained and acted condescending to me, actually attempting to correct me when I was more knowledgeable about one pair of sneakers there than he was that I had just read a lot of information about. Max repeatedly denied the information in an arrogant way, and when I tried to politely mention it was factual, he did not like that at all. Max will likely complain about any customer that he thinks is "high maintenance" or has special needs, just as he did with me, which I can only interpret as him being ableist. The one time I suffered through a return with him eligible under the company's policy, he acted like he was inconvenienced by doing so the entire time, and he told me in a very judgmental, passive aggressive way, quote, "If you keep them for a while, we assume you like them." He then acted surly and complained while he was doing the return, exaggerating what he saw on the screen (quote, "it's hard to even see what to do with all of these returns," when I had a grand total of one exchange and one refund posted on my account over the year and a half.) One of the actual managers of Footwise, when I shared this feedback with them, said that Max needed to be re-trained. I guess either that didn't work out for him or he avoids doing them now at all costs, because when I came in to do a different exchange, he handed me off to another employee there without explanation. He even had the audacity to say, when I told the other employee the first shoes I tried on were too narrow, "They say they're too narrow... I guess," as if he was questioning or judging the customer's own ability to know how their feet feel in a shoe. He had such an attitude saying that to me, and then he avoided me around the store and made me feel very uncomfortable and annoyed while he made sure to smooth talk two other older clients trying on shoes. Max was very personable and chipper to them just as he treated me the very first time I was in there, laughing and affectionately speaking with them, but he entirely avoided eye contact with me. Max didn't even bother to ask if I needed anything or how I was doing when he was just standing around or when he was not with other customers when the other employee disappeared into the back (who I overheard telling Max they wanted to take their lunch break soon). After waiting several minutes while Max was standing around literally doing nothing and avoiding me, I got my things and waited at the register. Instead of helping me check out, he went and got the other employee in the back to come out, who was quite sweet and kind during the exchange and checkout process. I could feel Max's gaze on me as I wished the other employee goodbye and left. Do yourself a favor, femmes, women, and disabled folk and avoid this store, because unless one of the managers gives this man a serious reality and ego check, I doubt his arrogant and passive aggressive behavior will ever change. I'd recommend going to literally any other store to avoid him. It's a shame, though, as the other employees at this location are actually quite nice.

My style is more eclectic and I rarely find anything here but stop in once in awhile always hoping. Located on the far end of Cascade Station by Lane Bryant, the store doesn't get a lot of walk in traffic.
