I hired Zuno Productions for my wedding back in 2010 and they were by far the BEST and easiest vendor to work with. DJ Eugene was so helpful and profession, he followed my requests with detail and even suggested a list of songs that I absolutely did not want played, lol. That, obviously, included, "The Chicken Dance" and "The Macarena." He played everything perfectly and with exact timing for the processional, the ceremony, the recessional, the grand entrance, the first dance, the dances with the parents, everything! Eugene & Aki were the DJ/MC for my wedding at the Athenaeum in Pasadena last week. They did a phenomenal job. As a bride, you want one less thing to worry about and these guys were absolutely amazing. My fiance at the time and I met with Eugene at a local tea shop because we like to meet all our vendors prior to booking them to make sure they aren't crazy. I've known Eugene from college and have seen him on & off over the last few years. I forgot he Dj'ed until a good friend of mine referred him after seeing him at another wedding. So we set up an meeting to make sure he really had a dj business. hehe. Low and behold, he went into great detail about every state of the art equipment he has and what his services will include (with a fancy presentation too!). From the time we booked him to until the wedding, Eugene checked in with us a handful of times us to see if there's anything he could do to help. He was so sweet. He provided song suggestions to father/daughter mother/son dances and was very honest if our timeline seemed too aggressive. We picked most of our songs (Ceremony/Cocktail/Dinner Service) and had Aki & Eugene play what they thought was best for last two hours of our wedding. We didn't worry about it as we knew we would be in good hands. Every song that they played everyone danced to it. During our wedding we had a few hiccups (croquembouche feel apart because of the heat) and time changes in the speeches. Eugene & Aki assured us not to worry and they accommodated with last minute changes, announcements and made it seem like it was part of the wedding timeline. We had guest tell us it was such an organized and beautiful wedding but really a huge part of that was thanks to Eugene & Aki. They also had a really beautiful setup and brought covers to hide their dj equipment so it would blend in with the venue. I can't recommend them enough. They were certainly our favorite people to work with during this entire crazy wedding planning. I yelped this DJ after my friends' wedding, because looking for a good one can be such a pain, so you gotta hook 'em when you find 'em! I got married last weekend and I can't say enough great things about Zuno Productions and Eugene. Eugene (and his assistant Amanda) acted not only as our DJ but also as our day-of coordinator. Throughout the planning process, Eugene was ALWAYS available for calls and emails and went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable with everything and had all my questions answered. It was never more than a few hours before I got a call or email back from him. He was also extremely well organized and worked with me closely to ensure that the ceremony and reception schedules were perfect. *** Okay, I've been married now for 2.5 years and I just realized that I never came back to review Zuno. Everything went off without a hitch. According to my wedding coordinators, Eugene showed up super early to make sure all the equipment was ready. He was as organized and detail-oriented as he was throughout the wedding planning process. He was dressed professionally and the right songs were played at the right time throughout the ceremony and reception. During the last couple of hours, we had dancing and he managed to get everyone out on the dance floor (a lot of weddings I've been to, people cut out once the dancing begins). After the initial meeting, James even took the time to come out to our rehearsal so he could double check on equipment hook ups and see the flow of events. I have been at several events that Eugene has run and let me tell you... he gets it! He has a great attitude and makes sure that the hosts are relaxed when he is running an event. Outside of being charming, pleasant and super smooth at his job he is a COMPLETE package. From beautiful slide shows, to flashing lights, to videography, photography and MCing as well... he really covers the whole spectrum professionally. I am sure he offers more services than I am even aware of. And as far as music goes, he has an excellent sense for what the crowd wants.
