It required follow up the next day for a more permanent fix but Roto Rooter quoted us so much that my husband decided to call Tunnell again to see if they could squeeze us in the next day. They could and quoted us literally less than 1/4 of the price that Roto Rooter quoted us for hydro jetting. Upon arrival, Seth took a look and said we actually don't need hydro jetting and he could get the job done even cheaper with his chain. He did it quickly and efficiently. It's seriously so rare to find such an honest business these days and Tunnell goes above and beyond. Unbeknownst to Seth, my husband and I had just suffered a devastating loss of a loved one that weekend and the plumbing issue was just the cherry on top of a horrible chain of events. But Seth eased our worries and fixed our problem so that we had one less thing to worry about.

No joke, less than 5 seconds later my phone rings and it's Radi. After jumping out of bed and running down the hall to avoid waking up the wife and kids I gave him a few details about my home and we arranged a time to come over the next evening (again, after hours to fit my schedule). After explaining his services in detail and providing an estimate on the spot we chose to go with Dr. Piper because: 1) We wanted copper, and he uses only the thicker type-L copper, not the thin cheap type-M copper you get at the big box stores. 2) He is the only plumber we found that patches their own drywall holes and textures them (quite flawlessly I might add - even the popcorn ceiling) 3) The expansion tank that others didn't even mention or want to charge extra for was included in the price. 4) Everything is installed per current plumbing code and he gets all required city inspections along the way. Everything is done on the up & up. 5) Dr. Piper's estimate was not the lowest or highest, but was very competitive for the services he's providing. As soon as I saw the first section of pipe meticulously routed through the ceiling joists I knew I had made the right choice. And his crew did worked long days and got the job done in slightly less time than Radi estimated up front. After dealing with some hack plumbers in the past I can safely say I've now found my go to plumber for life.

Waterfront Plumbing (the father, Vicente) was available and they came out and provided me with a quote $650. Vicente verbally explained that there would be, "extensive digging required to reach and inspect a leaking pipe" in my front yard. Hearing his explanation of the work I assumed this job would require several hours. I agreed based on the description and details. However, To my surprise, there was NO digging literally ZERO, and he finished the job in 45 minutes. When I questioned him about the obvious discrepancy between what was verbally told to me and what was delivered on top of the fact it took less than an hour, I was met with, " you could have gone with someone' else." I was shocked Vicente stood firm on the $650. Lesson learned, we did receive an additional quote for $250-350 for the same work. $10 PVC pipe cost, but again based on the verbal description provided by Waterfront, we believed that the other plumber was grossly underestimating the extent of work required. Then we had a family friend with their own reputable plumbing business (not in SD, but OC) urge us to say something b/c we were definitely over charged. I hope this encourages others to ask for a detailed list of tasks and work on paper with a cost breakdown. I know we'll do that next time.

I wouldn't characterize the sudden burst of water that flowed from our kids' toilet as a storm, but it was an unexpected happenstance that upended our lives for almost three months. Ironically, my wife and I had been contemplating restoring our outdated bathrooms, but I had explained to my wife that we needed to wait until the home interest rates plummeted, so that we could refinance our home in order to remodel our bathrooms. God Is Good All The Time and we know He heard us, but I wouldn't have fathomed that us getting new bathrooms would have occurred this way. We are so thankful to God that He allowed Aaron McFadden, Freddy and his team, and Element Construction and Restoration to be the main contractor that were responsible for the beautiful bathrooms, new flooring, and restoration of the damage that occurred from the water damage. Our home was built in the 1970s, so it's antiquated and prone to have issues such as water leaks and other problems associated with owning an older room. Unfortunately, this is our third time having some type of water issue. We've had a slab leak, a leak from our water heater, and this most recent iteration, a sudden burst of water from our kids' toilet. When this most recent episode transpired, I was a veteran of handling the basics of having to deal with a water leak such as reaching out to my insurance, contacting a plumber, and ensuring mitigation assisted with our situation. What I wasn't experienced about was construction and restoration of three bathrooms, part of our downstairs ceiling, affected walls, and our downstairs flooring. Praise God our go to plumbing company, All American Plumbing, recommended a small business and North County construction contractor named Element Construction and Restoration. The owner of the company and Aaron are family, so it's a family-run business based out of Oceanside. They have work all over San Diego, so they provide service around San Diego County. Full disclosure, I'd rate Element Construction and Restoration 4.5 stars because we did have some delays as a result of wrong materials ordered, but I would give Aaron, Freddy (one of the subcontractors Aaron uses), and Freddy's team 5 stars based on the impressive workmanship, diligence, and how everything that was restored turned out. Writing about their work doesn't do it justice, so please look at the pictures of the project. It truly was a blessing to work with Aaron. He's a friendly dude, has a positive disposition, was overly communicative in a good way, and he was completely transparent about everything including being apologetic for some issues that came up during the project. From the start of the work where Aaron came out to measure things to our final inspection where he scrutinized the work that was done, he was professional and knowledgeable about what we were going to embark on. What I also appreciated about Aaron was keeping my adjuster in the loop and updated about anything that came up from our project. One of the things I want to upgrade in our home is our kitchen, but I'm not looking for God to put us through another storm. If you're in the market for construction, restoration, or renovation of your home, I highly recommend Aaron and Element Construction and Restoration.

They showed up the next day assuring me they would take down the drywall and treat everything then rebuild everything just like it was . The contract said they would come out repeatedly and check the moisture levels , no one ever came out . When I contacted Jason about the rebuilding he said his painter wasnt very good , to find my own painter . Then he said his drywall guy was messy and he had no one to put back in my washer and dryer . So he was not interested in doing any rebuilding like was promised . So I could of been finding people to do the work in the days that everything was drying out . When I texted him about all this he never responded . If I knew all this going in I would of went with another company that actually does what they promise . Do yourself a favor and find another company to mitigate your water damages .
