[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was definitely a rowdy crowd, so if you are looking for a more chilled experience, this isn't the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was extremely loud and service was a bit all over the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was difficult to get anyone attention to get seated, with no set host and spit where you would even check-in. You just had to try to get the very busy waiters attention and then wait some more. Stood there for about ten minutes before anyone took our name. Service didn't get any better once seated. Desserts were a great size but the wine collection left a bit to be desired. There were no sweeter wines at all, all dry which surprised me. The tiramisu was very thick and heavy and the ice cream very creamy but not super rich or deep flavor. Overall probably won't return. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But definitely seems the place for a large group of friends to get drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The phone only rule isn't really enforced if that's what's keeping you back btw.

I went to Zulu's recently for post-dinner drinks and dessert and had a lovely time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is a little small and quirky but overall is cozy and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a great wine list that gives enough options without being overwhelming. The food menu is limited to a few snacks and desserts. The mousse and the crème brûlée were both rich and delicious and great for sharing over a few drinks. This is a great local option for an evening drink or post dinner dessert.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the concept of having a no-screen wine bar/dessert place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We stopped by on a Friday evening and it was empty, which was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We've come other times and seen a long line. Our server was friendly and largely left us alone, and we had a lovely time catching up. I wasn't particularly wowed by the dessert items- we got the raspberry chip ice cream and the apple crumble. I would recommend the crumble over the ice cream as it had some interesting flavors but overall nothing that stood out.

Zuzu's is a fun and cozy place! great atmosphere for a date or to catch up with friends. we went as a group of four treating a friend from out of town who loves wine and sweets. our 10 pm friday night reservation was delayed a bit due to a lingering table having lots of fun (def not any fault of the staff!!), but upon being seated we started with the cheese board and a recommended bottle of wine from a kind server. as we were eating we tried to make eye contact or attention to order some desserts but somehow kept missing out (maybe it was just bad timing and to be fair it was near closing time, so we def felt a little like the staff was ready to go home -- especially apparent given they were blasting their records). All in all it was fun, the cheese and wine were tasty, but i wish i could review a dessert. The service was disappointing and it is definitely over priced. Given that, I would not stop you from trying this place, either going a bit earlier than we did or ordering all at once! it's a fun stop if you're nearby but don't be like us and miss the chance to order dessert!

What a great little meeting place. Good wine and no cell phones! What a novel idea, you just talk to each other. :)

They had everything from eggs to sausage to french toast to pasta to tiramisu to muffins to much more. They also have juices, coffee and hot chocolate. The brunch does not include alcohol as that could be added. The service was amazing, our waitress was constantly filling up our waters throughout the meal and checking up on us. The managers were also walking around checking up on everyone. I highly recommend checking out Batifol for brunch on the weekends. You will not leave hungry!

There were very few redeeming aspects to the meal, and we left feeling both disrespected and unsatisfied as customers. The issues started right away. We ordered drinks--including a pear mocktail--but were brought the wrong ones, and then they attempted to charge us for those incorrect drinks. In hindsight, the cocktail mix-up should have been a warning of what was to come. The pear mocktail itself was also quite bad. The service felt chaotic throughout the night. We asked multiple times for additional servings of steak and fries, but were largely ignored. Meanwhile, nearby large tables were repeatedly served, cleared out entire trays, and still received more attention from staff. For an all-you-can-eat steak frites offering, we each received only one serving despite several requests. As for the food itself, it did not make up for the service. The steak was just okay--some pieces were chewy and overly fatty, though acceptable if refills had actually been provided. The fries, however, were terrible. Our first serving was so hard it was nearly inedible, and the only refill we received was just as bad. I also ordered the spinach risotto, which was slightly better than the steak, but it was so salty I couldn't finish it. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

We walked into a warm, energetic space with dim lighting, an open dining room, and a constant buzz that makes it a great choice for a night out with friends or a date. The restaurant has a vibrant, social energy that encourages sharing and exploration, and the open layout adds to the sense of activity without feeling chaotic. Rather than ordering individual entrées, the experience is centered around sharing a variety of dishes, making each visit feel a little different depending on what you choose. The tapas are the highlight of the menu, with plenty of options that encourage trying a little bit of everything. The bacon-wrapped dates are one of the signature dishes, balancing sweet and savory flavors, while the patatas bravas, croquettes, and charcuterie boards are reliable choices to start the meal. If you are looking for something more substantial, the seafood paella and squid ink pasta stand out as excellent main dishes, offering rich flavors and generous portions that are easy to split between two or more people. The olive oil cake is also worth saving room for if you want to end the meal with dessert, and the overall progression of the meal works well with the tapas format. The drink menu is just as impressive as the food. Wine is the main focus, with an extensive list featuring Spanish and international selections, but the sangria and cocktails are equally popular. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend a couple of hours sharing plates while working your way through a few different drinks, and the beverage program is thoughtfully curated to match the style of the food. Service is one of the restaurant's strongest points. The staff are knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list, and dishes arrive steadily throughout the meal instead of all at once, creating a relaxed dining pace. The pacing allowed us to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed, and the team checked in at the right moments without hovering. The restaurant is consistently busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. Even with a reservation, there can occasionally be a short wait, and the lively atmosphere means the dining room can get quite loud during peak hours. The energy of the room is part of what makes the experience work, but it is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quieter dinner. Barcelona Wine Bar is one of the best places in Boston for Spanish-inspired tapas and wine. The combination of flavorful shareable dishes, a well-curated drink menu, attentive service, and vibrant atmosphere makes it an easy choice for group dinners, celebrations, or date nights. It offers a meal that feels both communal and polished, with a setting that encourages slowing down and enjoying the evening. Just be prepared for the energetic environment and plan ahead if you are visiting during the busiest times.
