Fonda and the Zuzu's team made our Brooklyn micro-wedding come to life! My family has been ordering flowers for special occasions from Zuzu's for years. When my now-husband and I decided to plan a small wedding in the backyard of my parents' Brooklyn home, Zuzu's was our first and only choice for florals. The wedding-planning process can be stressful in the best of times, and the pandemic did not make things any easier. With Fonda and her Zuzus, we knew we would be taken care of like family, and we were. Fonda designed and assembled a wedding canopy and a gorgeous tablescape in the backyard. In addition to breathtakingly beautiful flowers, she used decorative family heirlooms, like candlesticks, gathered from around the house. She worked with us to create something on a very short timeline that fit the aesthetic we hoped to achieve on our budget. I loved the rich and vibrant colors of the bouquet she made for me, and the boutonnières and corsages for our parents and my sisters. She also decorated the interior and front stoop of the house. I've stopped in a few times, and the flowers have been expensive, but beautiful and long-lasting. Both times, however, the owner has been abrupt and rude. Her staff is friendly. I was in a few weeks ago to buy a bouquet for a friend's birthday, and I was standing in the back with one of the employees as she was selected my flowers. The owner was helping some customers and practically pushed past me to get to the back without even excusing herself. There are too many places to purchase flowers in the neighborhood to be treated badly by the owner (or any employee, frankly) of an establishment. read more

I can't say enough good things about the gorgeous, textured bouquets made by Zuzu's. They will certainly liven up your apartment if not your life. The staff is consistently friendly, professional, and skilled; they even worked with me to make several dozen mini-bouquets for the surprise engagement of a friend. There is a pretty little garden in the back behind the shop where you can see a larger selection of potted plants than the ones brightly displayed at the storefront. Both living plants purchased from them (a jasmine plant and a nasturtium) have flourished in my apartment according to their instructions. Martine is my favorite professional there. She consistently makes exquisite bouquets and pays attention to personal preference. She is calm, courteous, flexible, and has great taste! Bonus: they have a delightful selection of hand lotions and soaps (some of which are locally made) as well as a rainbow of beautiful handmade tapers and some select high-end cards, making it a great place to pick up a quick gift. Very disappointed in the way my wife and I were treated as we stopped by Zuzu's Petals. Looked like a good spot for plants and flowers, but the women who were in the store were flat out rude. I was stopping by to pick up a packet of seeds and ask if they had a mint plant. We saw that they posted their hours as open until 7, we arrived at 6:45 which should be plenty of time for a 5 minute transaction. Instead of being greeted, we were told by the woman standing in the doorway "we're closed." So I asked, "oh, your website says you're open till 7, why are you closing early?" To which another woman replied "we're tired," haha seriously? So I shook me head and replied "I'm tired too" as we turned around to stand outside the shop on the sidewalk to figure out where we could go next. The three women inside must have assumed we walked away, which is when one said to the other two, "What an asshole!" Astonished I took two steps back to their door and said "I'm not an asshole!?" And they just stood there embarrassed and shocked that I had heard them. Great job, you should be embarrassed, your conduct is appa and this whole thing could have been handled so much better. I have never purchased flowers from this florist before but I decided to order Mother's Day flowers from here because their flowers look very elegant and tasteful on their site. They were prompt in calling me back to ask me a few questions. I told them that I liked the flowers that I saw on the site and wanted something similar. However, my only request is that they include lilies and roses as they are my mom's favorite flowers. They told me the minimum is $100 with a $20 delivery fee. That's fine even though it is only a few blocks from the florist. She promised me a beautiful bouquet. Come Mother's Day, they made the delivery in the morning which was great. However, my mom sent me a photo of the bouquet. Literally, JUST roses and lilies. Not even a leafy green, curly willow, or (gasp) another flower to look like they actually assembled it with any design in mind. They couldn't even add a different color. All the flowers were yellow. I know it's Mother's Day and prices are spiked up then but they display beautiful bouquets for $65 on their site. This bouquet doesn't even come close to it and at a whopping $120. Meanwhile, it looks like it came from the supermarket. I'm extremely disappointed and will never order from them again. Went into the store as I was passing by to see if they happened to have any edible flowers to decorate a grazing board for Thanksgiving. The younger front staff was nice and friendly, but the older woman who seemed to be in charge was brusque and short . One younger employee was on the phone with a potential customer and when she would double check things with the older woman, the older woman would reply very rudely to her in a very condescending way. When the younger employee got off the phone, I asked if they had any edible flowers, to which she asked the older woman and the older woman in one word oozing with impatience said, "NO." I don't know if maybe she was stressed because of the holidays or what, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't the object of her maltreatment, but seeing how she treated her employees/co-workers has made me certain that I won't be going back. But besides that, the prices were insane. Thistles were $9 a stem, where as the local deli will have a bunch of 7-10 for the same price. I saw a poor customer asking to buy a bundle of berry stems when she was surprised to hear it was $5 a stem. This compared to the deli down the block that has a whole bundle for $5. *I don't think the rude woman was the same person as the owner of this business since she looks different then the pics of the business owner I've seen here on yelp read more

My nephew was admitted to a Brooklyn Methodist with a very sudden and very serious illness. I wanted to lift his spirits with flowers but knew no local florists (live on the left coast). The person I spoke with told me the types of flowers they had and the arrangement that was sent did not have any of those flowers. She said tulips and roses were what she recommended.. See photo. I spent almost 140 dollars for this arrangement. When I sent an email to say I was disappointed in the arrangement, they came and picked up the arrangement and left a smaller arrangement that was unimpressive. What a great florist! Visited yesterday to buy a surprise bouquet for my wife who just finished her maternity leave. Other than knowing I wanted something "different, 'wild' and not insanely expensive", I didn't give much direction as I'm not knowledgeable about flower types. I also have a budget (in this case $50-$60). The woman who helped me put together an outstanding arrangement, smack in my budget, while giving me plenty of opportunity to "yes" or "no" various options. This has happened to me on three occasions (twice when she yelled at me for looking at certain flowers that were out that she claimed were not for sale) while she leaves other patrons alone. This review is based mainly on customer service to point out that I did not receive what I was told I would be getting. be aware brides, proms and moms to be looking for a pleasant experience. I had my baby shower yesterday and went into zuzu Thursday to order a hair clip. The sales rep took me around the store showed me the flowers I was allowed to get with the clip they provided will fit my type of hair. When my husband Went to. Pick up the hair pin the day of the shower he called me from the store because they changed the clipped to a comb without notifying me. Sales rep was extremely rude and defensive sayin that's how they made them in the old days and clip that I was told will work did not. He said there was another later whom I heard on the phone getting annoyed (last with dyed red hair) because I was worried that the comb would not stay in my hair. They assured us that the Combe was "better" with neither of them knowing what my hair texture was. This comb lasted 30mins in my hair at my shower it SUCKED people had to kept helping me put it back in until I just took it out. It was very unfair of zuzu s to change my order without getting in touch with me. They were also very cocky with this decision and did not care. Because the flowers they have are beautiful they do not have the right to treat customers like second class citizens. They frustrated me in start if my shower which should've been stress and it continued with a annoying comb falling out of my hair. ZuZu's isn't so much a florist shop as it is a high end decoration store. They do supply excellent potted plants and trees as well as hard to find Greco-Romanesque concrete planters and a very luxurious selection of fabrics such as table cloths and towels. I love the arrangements and unique flowers they have at their shop and wanted a florist with that artistic touch. I had a great experience working with them on size, color, shape, flowers, etc and found the price to be fair. When I picked everything up, the flowers were wrapped but they gave me a peek and what I could see looked beautiful and particularly the bouquet was gorgeous. What was disappointing was when we unwrapped the boutonnieres, I saw the edges of the flower had started to brown. This was true for some of same type of flower in the reception centerpieces as well. I don't know if it was noticeable to anyone else, and you can't tell in any of the photos, but I recommend asking how fresh the flowers will be when you make your order. They usually have a large variety of flowers. The prices are also reasonable unlike some other place in the area.
