I've been going to Zuzu's since their original location on 7th Ave. It's always been my go to shop for gifts, either for myself or friends and family.  The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable, and I always feel welcomed.  My kids know exactly where to get flowers for me on special occasions, or just because. Very very disappointed in my recent purchase for $45- I asked for a blue and white arrangement since my daughter just had a baby boy. The florist had limited flowers in these colors but did have 2-3 sprays of different blue flowers. She added 2 mauve roses in. ( i think it should've been 3- but i thought she knew what she was doing) When i returned to pick up the arrangement, one of the lacy, pretty blue flowers was not included as she had shown me. What i bought and paid for ended up being a spray of white phlox, 3-4 blue thistle and 2 mauve roses in a small glass vase for $45!!! She wrapped it in orange tissue paper- idk... orange- mauve seems to clash! I dont like to give bad reviews but this was the most disappointing mess i have ever had to buy( since i paid for it and then went back to pick it up) Overpriced, poorly executed and poor communication since she led me to believe the 2 blue flowers would be included. This is the best place to buy, view, or ask about flowers. The salespeople each have their own special way with the customers,-some might be more knowledgeable about plants, others can whip you up something fast if you can't stand waiting, Some have southern charm, others have Brooklyn grit, some are moms, some are fancy dancers. All of them have a great sense of humor, and are intelligent, honest people who want to sell you some fabulous flowers. Some know all about the garden, while others can spend an afternoon discussing pot sizes and how to best fill them. Some cute dogs live in there some days! Every flower is cared for meticulously and is sent out in an arrangement that was designed by a creative, experienced floral designer or team of designers. The owner cares about the quality of the product and the customer service experience of her patrons. She is especially caring towards her employees and regular customers. If you have a problem, just call or email. The flowers are hand picked by the owner every two-three days (you think the deli down the block does that?) You're getting the best the NYC flower market has to offer at zuzus, for sure. That's pretty lucky! Stop in and see a flower that wasn't there last week- get fresh zinnias in the summer from a farm upstate! Call in advance and get something unique that you don't usually see in the store. Those who are regulars are happy to be regulars. You are missing out if you live nearby and don't frequent this place. We are so lucky to have this local gem here in Park Slope. I was sent flowers from here that (some of the flowers) lasted for 3 weeks! I signed up to follow them on InstaGram so I could see what their hours and Covid policies would be as things changed and I was happy I did because the pictures of their beautiful arrangements they've been delivering brighten my day! My in laws surprised me with what was supposed to be a delivery of flowers from Zuzu's for my birthday. I was completely unaware of any of this and received a call from an unknown number this morning that I disregarded. I then googled the number which led me to Zuzu' s and I assumed it was just another flower shop trying to contact me that got my info from one of the bridal shows I've been to so I didn't bother calling back. During lunchtime, I received a text letting me know that this flower shop had a delivery waiting for me and to contact them for best time. Intrigued, I called back and found out that my in laws set this delivery up. Unfortunately I work late hours and was not available go accept the delivery and the woman on the phone (I didn't catch her name) was a complete sweetheart and worked with me to help get the bouquet to me. We agreed to have my fiance pick up the bouquet on his way home from work before the shop closes and I came home to a beautiful bouquet. Last Saturday I completely forgot that it was my mother in laws birthday and by the time I realized all the other florists had advised me that it was too late to place an order to be delivered the same day (this was at 3:30pm) . A couple months ago, my boyfriend stopped into Zuzu's to buy a flower arrangement for me. I am a florist and he remembered how I much I love Zuzu's. He told the ladies what he wanted, and they designed the perfect arrangement for me exactly to his specifications. I don't know who was more excited about the arrangement, him or me! I was delighted to receive such a gorgeously designed arrangement. He was thrilled that they took the time and care to craft a uniquely beautiful design, complete with a tiny pineapple, which is the official symbol of my hometown (just one example of the remarkable array of Zuzu's amazing weekly and seasonal flowers). Their designs are gorgeous and their service exceptional. They are truly a gem of Park Slope. It is no wonder that they have been the customers' favorite since 1971! read more

This lovely shop always gets it right! As I write, I am looking at the beautiful Christmas arrangement they made for my table. Their work is elegant, lush, yet at the same time simple, and not cluttered. They also time the flowers perfectly, so they open at their peak on the day you want, but then continue to look beautiful as they unfold more over the week. The staff here is also very helpful, while never intruding if you just want to linger a bit and take in the beautiful flowers and gift items in the shop. They didn't feel the orchards were of quality for the expense (they were a bit wilted and needed work). They were patient and informative. I highly recommend. read more

The flowers came with dirty water and no tight buds. When I called the shop owner she denied all the problems and was unwilling to accept responsibility. Very rude and the flowers looked droopy and old. They have no refrigerator to keep flowers fresh. She buys on Thursday for a Saturday delivery. I tried to work with the owner but she was unwilling to admit the flowers were less than perfect. I have photos to prove how horrible they looked. I will never use them again. read more

It looks like this place has the high-quality flowers that I was looking for, BUT the horrible customer service had me walking out the door. They had "Recession Special" bouquets at the front door, and I was about to spend a few hundred dollars on a special event. Too bad for them, I guess... The young lady behind the counter with the glasses and long hair had nothing helpful to say when i was asking questions about placing an order. Went in for the first time today and will keep going back to them for all my plant purchases and cut flower needs. They were super helpful in finding me plants based on the light in my apt and the location of the heaters, etc etc... took the time to explain my options and the care. i've never had anyone give me so much advice for buying potted plants. the prices were super decent compared to others with same level of service and quality. i did not buy cut flowers so do not know what prices are, but i will certainly go to them first next time for bouquets. read more

What a great experience I had with Zuzu's Petals. I wanted to send my friend a bouquet for her birthday and wanted it hand delivered on a Saturday from a local florist. I was in communication with Fonda at Zuzu's Petals only by email--and her communication was quick and efficient. I originally wanted a bouquet of daffodils, and Fonda sent me a variety of choices--and warnings--about the daffodils. This time of year apparently daffodils are hard to come by and are quite delicate. She told me that she would be going to the market to get the daffodils the day before she was going to deliver them, but when she got to the market the daffodils were really not in good shape. Rather than just going through with my order and sending sub par daffodils, she wrote me to ask if she could substitute another kind of flower which were longer lasting and in better condition. I said of course she could, and in the end my friend received a beautiful bouquet of 35 yellow tulips. Even though the tulips were more expensive than the daffodils, Fonda kept the price the same for me. She later followed up with another email confirming the delivery and the type of flower she chose. I was really pleased! Yes, the price was way more than prices for delivery on FTD.com or something, but it's infinitely better to support a local business! read more

Fonda and her "Zuzu's" just did my wedding at the Green Building and I cannot say enough good things about them. From our first meeting we were in love. Fonda is such a pleasure to deal with and she really got what we wanted. I was concerned that because I didn't have a huge flower budget that it would be lacking in the final presentation...until I met them. We wanted a clean and modern look and the arrangements were TO DIE FOR. In all of the wedding I've been to I can't recall a single centerpiece, but I can tell you that our guests were obsessed. I must have answered a hundred questions on what kind of flowers they were (Green Trick!) And everyone wanted to take them home. We did multiple vases on each table with grass, Green Trick and yellow roses, the flowers really set the room off in the most beautiful way. When I first saw the room I was speechless. The bouquets were ridiculous; modern, clean and so "us". She just really got it. I'll never use another florist in Brooklyn and I'd be thrilled for them to be a part of any special day we have. Lived in the neighborhood over 5 years now and never went into this quaint little shop - decided to do so today. Beautiful flowers in few specimens, mostly long lasting, soaps and other stuff. Planning to buy a beautiful small bunch for a friend (3 -5 stems). I got a snobbish "lesson" for the ugliest bunch ever made... loose bow (it fell!!) oversized paper (where are the flowers?). Simply trimmed, loose stems, no leaves, all hiding somewhere in a ridiculously oversized paper... I could not see a flower! the whole thing fell apart! enjoy! 4 stems - 20 bucks. really?? Hello, I'm writing this review on the basis of many transactions and experiences with this store: 1. Presentation: the usual presentation of front, yet somewhat very busy. 2. Service: when it's not busy, very friendly. When it is very busy e.g. Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, etc., friendliness declines. 3. Flowers: usually fresh. Occasionally have had flowers significantly wilted the following day. NB: More flowers at the back. Again, very little cooler space and therefore, most foliage will be sitting at ambient room air temperature and humidity. 4. Transaction: take currency and credit; signs encouraging cash as fees are "killing us". Overall: functional store, however, if you require consistent quality, with consistent service over a long period of time, I am uncertain as to whether or not this location would provide you with those needs. I have a major garden in PS and I do order perennial plants from high end nurseries and have them shipped and I buy annuals at Lowe's or Home depot but for those "special" garden plants the selection here is amazing. yes, the prices are high but you get what you pay for! Fonda, the owner is helpful, cheerful and a Park Slope celebrity. Some of the ladies in the store have been there for a long time and they are friendly and if you are a regular customer they get to know you and what you might like and make great recommendations. read more

Checked out this place a few weeks ago, I needed a few Terra-cotta pots and some potting soil. The prices of the pots are pretty expensive, but then again I'm used to the closer to wholesale prices of the flower district on 28th street in Manhattan which Zuzu's petals is not. The staff seemed helpful, I decided to buy a basil plant as well and one of the staff said they would get a plant for me. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to the itemized receipt, but I have a bad feeling I overpaid for a small basil plant that can be had at any big box retailer for $6. After I left the store, I realized the basil plant had a good amount of insect eaten leaves. Either they don't care for their basil plants and they were all insect eaten so the staff had no choice in selection, or the staff member intentionally chose a plant in bad shape hoping I wouldn't notice. I must take responsibility for not checking myself, but either way I won't be returning. That attempt at unloading a sub par plant on me has cost them my future business. read more

I ordered flowers over the phone to be delivered to my sister-in-law. The delivery went off without a hitch and the arrangement was beautiful. I was really pleased with my purchase until I checked my credit card statement. When I called to place the order, I was told that my sister-in-law's address required a $55 purchase plus a $10 delivery fee. I thought that was a fair price and agreed upon the details with the shop attendant, who was very nice on the phone. Therefore I was extremely surprised when I opened my credit card statement to see that I had been charged nearly $85! The flowers were beautiful, BUT I feel very deceived by their abrupt change in price. ZuZu's had my cell phone number and they should have have contacted me to ask if I would agree to change the price of my order. The flowers were unique and beautiful, but buyer beware that the price quoted over the phone is subject to change without your knowledge. This is a little over the date-I had a birthday back in February and wanted a flower crown. (Um because when you turn 40 you can do what you want) I went in to ask about it and we talked about the different styles "headband" and fully around your head. I was told to email Fonda which I did. It took a little while for her to get back to me and when she did she explained why (personal reason) which I appreciated. I was happy with my resulting flower crown and wore it at my party. I've had mixed experiences with Zuzus. I used to live in the neighborhood and really wanted to have then be my go-to flower shop, but a couple of times I received flowers that just weren't fresh. No two ways around it. Zu zu's petals caught my eye with it's garden decor, infact there is a garden in the back( ask and you can have a look)!!! The service was great! I was assisted with a pink monochromatic bouquet after I was asked "how much I was willing to spend". There are also pre- made arrangements as well. so rest assured, if u don't want to spend a lot of money but u want an exotic arrangement of flowers you haven't seen at your local vegetable stand, zu zu's petals is the place. read more

Don't go here to quickly pick up a few things... they have a $20 credit card minimum (we expect this in bars, but at a florist? A bit odd). It is a fairly overpriced store, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting $20 worth of stuff, but I am sure there are more accommodating places to pick up a few quick things. The final product on the day of our wedding was absolutely gorgeous. She worked within our budget to find the best local options and met with us twice in advance (including traveling to our venue) to make sure she would be able to deliver what we wanted.
