Cara is one Amazing teacher! She is consistent with her instruction, each and every class. She has a commanding presence so when she enters the room, everyone immediately takes their position and you can hear a pin drop. Throughout her classes, she focuses on each and everyone of her students and empowers them to maximize their efforts with short, insightful and encouraging remarks. Cara does not waste time and moves us from one posture into the next so that we are quickly re-energized for the next posture. I have been fortunate enough to have taken hot 26 classes in many different countries and states and I am very comfortable saying there is not one teacher who measures up to the professionalism, expert instruction and the ability to connect with all her students, than Cara. Great no frills (but quaint!) facility with one hot yoga room, good instructors, fresh juice and other stuff for sale, 2 bathrooms with showers (I think there might be a 3rd inside the yoga room but I've never used it), changing rooms, and cubby holes for your stuff. The room is nicely lit and doesn't contain weird smells. Classes are usually not too packed. They have blocks and other accessories for borrowing. There are plenty of classes to choose from, many only an hour long. Parking is pretty easy in the surrounding neighborhood. Pricing structure is very fair. I'm a big fan and continue to come back. Excited to go to some workshops and perhaps a retreat with them in the future. read more

Hands down my favorite yoga studio in the DMV area! My boyfriend and I bought the new student unlimited month (~$60) and I have gone practically every day since purchasing. I have done yoga on and off for about 6 years and ever since moving to DC I hadn't found that one *reasonably* priced spot... until now. The teachers are fantastic. From their teaching styles, and extensive yoga knowledge they turned my boyfriend into a "yogi" and he loves it. I also love love love when a yoga teacher makes hands on adjustments! I believe it's a necessity when trying to further your practice. I should also mention this is HOT yoga so each class is heated to at least around 95 degrees if not hotter for some. I've taken pretty much every style class offered from the hot power flow, power flow express,the bikram 26 style class, AND hamstrings, hips and spines. ALL ARE GREAT! A lot of Yoga places tend to be very corporate and very crowded. I would say Zweet is very community driven. You know the instructors and the instructors know you. Also - Kimberly remembers everyone which is awesome since she co-owns the studio, which says a lot about her attention to detail and her ability to care for/know her community. I actually was going to attend another Yoga studio before going to Zweet, but someone drew me specifically to this when they mentioned that finding a space [a space for you and your mat] at Zweet was not stressful. They really emphasize the fact that Yoga is your own journey, you go at your own pace, you practice each day, you work on your posture, your breathing, your ability to stay still, etc. I've learned so much from the instructors here and see myself staying for a while. This place is, without a doubt, the best yoga school I have ever been to. Kimberly, the owner, calls it a school because everyone is there to learn, even the instructors. (She is also probably the most perfect human being on the planet, she's the best!) Zweet feels more like a community where the instructors and students are friends. No one is judgmental. Everyone is at a different place in their practice whether you are a beginner that has never done yoga or a veteran that is competing in competitions. The classes are challenging but fun. There is always a positive spirit to every class - funny anecdotes or comments that show students yoga doesn't need to be serious. My favorite thing about Zweet is that the instructors get just as excited about your breakthroughs as you do! I recommend Zweet to everyone I know. Take your favorite hot yoga class and smush it with a Bikram class. Add an idie feel, amazing music, an instructor who teaches (not tells) while doing the class in a comfortable neighborhood studio. A gem to anyone who can make it here. Added benefit: the owner has her own yoga clothes line. The bras are perfect! (Especially for those with gifted chests) the pants are amazing. I really like this studio. It doesn't generate too much traffic, and seems to attract a wide range of skill sets. It is a bit smaller compared to other studios. For reference, I think they have only one bathroom. It's not a huge deal to me, because I live fairly close. I have been to about 3 classes, all with different instructors. I enjoyed all of their classes, and would definitely recommend going there. read more

FANTASTIC. Favorite yoga studio, environment AND activewear clothing line ever. The studio is beautiful, full of happy feel-good vibes from the students and the teachers. Good for beginners and super-yogis (I deem myself somewhere in the middle of that). The teachers are AMAZING, their instruction is so helpful and personal. I have never left this place feeling anything short of on top of the world. Previously, I had steered clear of yoga cause I hadn't found the balance between feeling like it wasn't a good enough workout or sweating and panting in a hardcore Bikram class. Zweet IS that perfect balance! A few years ago my meathead self would not believe how excited it got to go to hot yoga, 3+ times a week! If you are an athlete of any sort, I'd recommend checking out yoga here! Since practicing at Zweet I've noticed drastic improvements in every other part of my fitness. Dancing, running, lifting etc! Hands-down the best yoga classes I've ever been to. All of the instructors are helpful and supportive, and the small size allows them to really get to know each individual student. They take the time to help each student improve their practice, and as owner Kimberly says, Zweet is a yoga "school," not a studio -- which I love. I'm still fairly new to yoga, and after a month of going 2-3 times a week, I already notice major changes in my flexibility. I'm so excited to attend their yoga retreat in Mexico this Spring, and can't wait for them to expand in January! EDIT: I can't believe I almost forgot the lavender towels!!! After a hot, sweaty class, they come around and offer cold, damp lavender towels which smell amazing and help you not only to cool down, but you leave smelling like a beautiful flower (even if you don't look like one). read more

I first started attending classes about a year and a half ago and I've gone from being afraid of yoga to wanting to go everyday - partly because of the instructors and partly because of how the yoga makes me feel (hint: REALLY GOOD). Zweet offers a variety of classes - although my favorite is the Zweet Hot Express 26 - its the perfect amount of yoga to get my day started. They offer shower facilities too - so it makes it SO much easier to get my hot yoga on before work. Every instructor I have had takes the time to make sure that each person is comfortable and is coached to the best of their ability. I've come to realize if I trust my teacher, my body is capable of doing so much more than I thought it could. They offer a pretty flexible schedule and the prices for yoga can't be beat. They recently expanded and there is more room for yogis!! Side note: Their clothes are AMAZING. I can't imagine doing hot yoga in anything besides their Jaco shorts. Love. This. Place! Went to my first yoga class yesterday (beyond the half class I did 10+ years ago). It was great! Everyone was super nice and helpful. I was nervous for sure, as yogis can sometimes be a little "I am awesome and the universe agrees," but not here. It was a very, "We are the world and let's all be at peace, together." Quite the change from my stressful world outside of the studio. Very clean and nice space, which is what made me try this place first. I read reviews about other HOT yoga places with carpet and got sick to my stomach. Neen was a great instructor! Very gentle and super encouraging. Also, the participant next to me was great too (she was a serious pro and gave me hands-on help me with my rabbit pose). After class other participants gave me kudos for getting through my first class, which was nice. I got the vibe that this is a close-knit community. I visited Zweet for the first time today. I took the hot power flow class. This class isn't for first timers as the Instructor just calls out the poses. However, on that same note I enjoyed the flexibility to take things at your pace and being able to play around with different variations of poses. The staff was very friendly. The studio has showers, mats, towels and water available. Parking is ok. There is street parking in the surrounding area. I'll be back for another class! read more

This is a great yoga studio. I practice here several times a week and the shop offers a variety of styles of yoga. It has a great community feel and is very welcoming. The instructors are knowledgeable and the facility is clean and inviting. You can choose to get challenged in a power yoga class or choose one of the "hamstring, hips and spine" or hatha classes that are more on the yin side of things. Either way, you will be led through a thoughtful and well designed practice with excellent cues and instruction. You always walk out of a yoga practice at Sweet Sport feeling better than when you went in. Afterwards, there is a nice selection of hand crafted Grateful Juices that are all natural and wonderfully concocted-- delicious and refreshing-- perfect for apres yoga. read more

LOVE!!! I had a hot yoga class with Kimberly. Rarely have I encountered such a great instructor that can explain pose posture and keep the flow going. That's extremely difficult to do. My friend and I did the one week yoga pass just to try it out. We ended up loving our class with Lindsey G. Im not new to hot yoga and some of the ladies/men can be a bit unfriendly and show offey. But the ladies and our one fella at Zweet Sport were super nice and encouraging. The super pro to my left even gave me a high five when I nailed the baby crow. Lindsey was great with explaining the poses. Cute studio, metro/bus accessible and all around a great experience. As I said, they listen to their clients and are willing to make changes. The class with Julie was changed from 60 to 75 minutes. Julie really is a great instructor and challenges both hardcore yogis, as well as guys that want to supplement their current workout plan with something different once a week. My wife also like how Julie challenges her as a true yogi and looks forward to future specialized clinics that she is having at Zweet. I just like how there are options to take it to the next level and compliment a current workout program. It's the "whole person" approach to fitness and wellness. read more

A must for any yoga fan. This charming yoga niche is perfect whether you are just starting out or if you're into the advanced stuff. The teacher was amazing...actually "taught" the class as opposed to just telling you what to do. This place is great and very welcoming! This was our first hot yoga session but second yoga class. Kimberly and Tonya welcomed us as if they knew us all our lives. They made us feel comfortable in the class as first timers. The room is hot so come prepared with short shorts, tank tops, two towels, and lots of water. If you forget, they have these items available for purchase as well. I poses were easy. The other participants in the class were friendly, and the environment was nice. The studio is nice and clean. I saw the instructors mop the floor after each class. For the ladies, if you are looking for nice eye candy, there were several guys in the class as well. LOL I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family looking to do hot yoga, but if you can't stand the heat, stay out the kitchen. read more

Never really done any legitimate yoga before until I came here. I go to the Tuesday Morning Hot Power Flow with Julie as the instructor. Also have been to one of the other classes on Friday Night. Each time it's been great and I've gotten good instruction from the teachers. The power flow is a great class, good music, instruction, and atmosphere. Great way to start the day. It's been super helpful in making me feel better and great supplement to my main athletic competitions outside of yoga. Highly recommend for first timers or experienced folks.
