This place is nestled in the back of a strip mall but immediately I knew I'd like it- at least the atmosphere. There was a bike rack filled with bikes and in the back a humongous patio. I love how light and airy this place is. Perfect way to enjoy a nice afternoon. When I walked in it was filled with locals. This place has a good selection of German beer and each that I tried was quality. I'd be interested to come back to try more of their extensive collection. Simply the best German beer in Colorado. We are so lucky to live nearby. Delicious Helles and Dunkel and the Dunkelweizen is addictive. We love both pilsners they brew and their Vienna lager is one of our favorite beers ever. Very friendly staff, modest people, clean place. Some decent beers here and usually a good food truck outside. Atmosphere is whatever I suppose. Mostly middle aged white people and a kid or two plus some dogs. Be nice if the brewer would say hi or hey he always there. The place seems a little clicky to me so I usually get a one and done. read more

Update: I made a special trip to Zwei on Saturday, 12/22/18 for the once a year limited release of Zwei's EisBock and it absolutely did not disappoint! If you have never tried it, you definitely need to get there very soon, before the last keg is gone. If you miss it, the DoppelBock and the other newly released Winter biers and the other flagship biers are all spot on and delicious!!! Prior post : I have been a German bier fan since my first Helles at age 10. I have been spoiled since I found Zwei 2 years ago. I am a huge lager fan and the Zwei lagers are the best I have found. The Helles, Dunkel, Vienna and Swartz biers are favorites, but the German Pils and Weis biers are truly authentic. If you like a good Swartz bier (Berlin style black lager), the newest variation is outrageously good! I am not a hop forward beer fan, but I am told their multiple pale ale and IPA options are really good. Zwei also has a great Espresso Porter, a good kettle sour, a nut brown ale and a red ale, plus there is always something new. I am confident there is something for all and the food cart options are also excellent. I have sat at the bar with local, regional and national brewmasters and Europeans who have been blown away with the quality, authenticity and flavors. If you haven't experienced their biers, you owe yourself a trip to Zwei. If you have, you are forever spoiled. read more

A nice addition to the fort collins microbrewery scene. They're are big on German style lagers and pilsners, eschewing most dark veer options (they do have one stout). The Dunkel is excellent, very smooth and not bitter at all. I also recommend the scotch ale. They do have a food truck outside but note that it doesn't serve food until 3 pm so you can't come here for lunch. At least not a solid lunch. read more

The last stop on the way out of town on our brewery hop tour. Man, it was excellent and should be added to the short list of must-stops on any brewery tour in FoCo. Their beers are all in the German style and exceptionally well-done. Got the classics, dunkel, Vienna lager and the Weiss and all were fantastic. They had a good truck but we had already eaten. We really liked the variety at Zwei. I had the dunkel good flavor. My husband had the golden hammer and it was his favorite beer of the night. We had visited 4 local breweries. He even got a can to go. He also got the willy Nelson to go so it must be good as he never gets any beer to go. I also enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere. We sat at the bar and it was fun to see everyycoming in filling growlers or ordering MASS. Haha. It's a huge stein. Husband wanted a mass of the golden hammer but it's NA or as we say no can do. I didn't see the alcohol content, but it must be high if the don't serve it in that size. read more

Customer service was lacking. We took some out of town friends to Zwei, they enjoy breweries. We had never been to Zwei before. I have celiac disease and cannot drink beer but most breweries have other options like wine, soda, water. Our friends ordered first and got a table. When it was time for my husband and i to order i asked if they had anything gluten free. The bartender looked at me with a straight face and said "this is a brewery" (I wanted to say "no shit" but i didn't). I then asked "no wine or soda" and again he looked at me and said "this is a brewery". So i went and sat down as did my husband (who would have ordered a beer but didn't because of the rude bartender). As we sat there waiting for our friends to finish their beer i noticed a water bottle station. The bartender could have given me a cup and pointed me that way but he was to busy being a smart ass. Absolutely one of my go-to breweries in Fort Collins! Authentic German style beers and then some! The parking lot is small around the brewery and you may have to park in the Walmart parking lot, which is just across the street. I find myself choosing this brewery often to meet with buddies for a relaxing beer (and burrito when the right food truck is there). I am not the guy who wants to get super creative with every beer I try and I like to drink typical beer styles that are done well. This is where Zwei delivers! They have amazing German styles that I regularly choose and they make some pretty incredible IPA's as well. I am a fan of the "Willie Nelson IPA" and all the variations of that beer. They serve their beer in the correct glassware and that is NOT typical of most breweries in town. I also have the option to get a full pint and then choose a smaller size for my last beer to finish out the night if I don't want a full glass. The bartenders know what they are talking about with the beer you ask about and that helps when you are feeling adventurous. The outdoor patio is nice and shaded, the inside is nice as well. There is not a ton of space and it packs out pretty fast in the evenings. Even if you aren't a German beer fan, if you like quality beer made right, this is a place to try in Fort Collins! My boyfriend and I came for a drink since we saw a Greek food truck. It was nice weather, so we sat on the patio. The bartenders took a little while to get to us, and ended up helping someone who clearly came after us before helping us. It wasn't very busy either. But they got to us and my boyfriend liked his beer. The bartender didn't pronounce the beer with the German pronunciation, but that really didn't matter to me. You'd think they would be trained on the native pronunciation though. The patio was nice! It's open to a parking lot but doesn't feel like it. It's not loud like you'd expect. There were a fair amount of people sitting outside with their dogs. I guess dogs are allowed inside and outside. Fun! The Greek food truck was delicious and affordable, and the man was very nice. It's a great idea to have someone parked there on the weekends serving food since they don't have food in the brewery! read more

One of Fort Collins' newest breweries (I think Snowbank is two days younger), this brewery specializes in German-style beers and is located in an area of town where breweries are few and far between. For now, anyway. Nestled on the southwest corner of College and Harmony next to Fazoli's and Provelo, the taproom has a modern industrial look to it, with the visible brewing tanks behind a long, modern bar. The room is filled with beetle-kill furniture, a rather interesting and attractive feature, and a few TVs for your viewing pleasure. Attached through a garage door is a patio and beer garden with picnic benches and a ping pong table. Since it was our first visit, we decided to go with a six-beer flight, $2 samples meaning a total $12. The beers are decent, though I preferred the four darker beers, particularly the Weis and the ZweIPA. Not a surprise since I'm not the biggest lager and pilsner fan and Zwei Bruder's Pils and Helle didn't do much to change that. The dunkel and red were fine enough, though not the best in town yet. That said, the beer is overall good quality and we had a good time hanging out for an hour or two playing Yahtzee (one of several available board games) and ping pong. There's a foosball table as well. For food options, they had a truck from Taps, the sports bar on College over near Best Buy. We had the beer pretzel, which was hot, salty, and a fine cure for a little hunger. I see plenty of success for this brewery as it catches on, given its relative lack of competition in the area and having I think one of the best taprooms in town. It'll be a fun place to visit from time to time. read more

As a German born beer fanatic, I love visiting the various german influenced craft beweries across the states. The atmosphere at Zwei was very hip. Beer benches outside, giant Jenga, ping pong, and food trucks for the hungy peeps. German lagers, such as the pils, are very tough to brew. The temperature and fermentation process needs to be exact. Zwei seemed to pefect this process! The weissbier in my opinion had more of a belgium color & taste to it, not necessarily the bavarian taste & cloudy color. The location is great, not where you would expect to find a brewery, but it works really well especially with easy access from the Mason bike trail and MAX bus. read more

We found a great hefeweizen, probably one of the best hefeweizens I have ever tasted. It rivals Live Oak hefeweizen made out of Austin. Smooth, creamy, a great beer. This is restroom was very nice and it very nearly met my criteria for a 5 star review. It was clean, spacious yet private, and a good distance away from prying noses. But, when I went in to use the urinal, I thought I felt water spraying onto my leg. But... it wasn't water. The architecture of the urinal actually shoots your pee back at you. And I don't mean the regular porcelain splash-back all urinals have. I'm talking like when you're washing a spoon and the water hits it just right and you wind up drenched. So if you're there enjoying a delicious local brew and nature calls... watch out for that or you might find yourself reenacting the bathroom scene from Me, Myself, Irene. read more
