The owner and everyone who works there are so kind, cracking jokes and helping customers with the door/items as they come in & out, etc. I brought in several of my husband's suits, slacks, shirts, and a few of my blazers and I found the pricing extremely affordable. I wasn't in any rush to get my items back, so I can't speak to having a quick turn around. He asked when I needed the items back by and I just let him know that I need the suits within a couple of weeks for a wedding. My items were ready exactly when he told me they'd be (1 week from the day I dropped off) and everything was beautiful like-new! We will definitely be returning! read more

Tony and his wife were the very best- 10 stars, I've been going here for 13 years and have never had any problems- ever. I brought an alpaca wool sweater in that was naturally baggy, and very pricey. The new management shrunk it to an unwearable size and I brought it in and asked what their policy is on ruined clothing and hey told be I MUST HAVE SHRUNK it, that it couldn't have been them. It was still on their hanger. I wasn't even asking for the full amount, I hadn't asked for anything, only what the policy was for ruined clothing. I'm so livid, at least apologize and take some accountability- blaming someone who brings things in, weekly- what a terrible work ethic (and no I didn't wash it and shrink it before bringing it back on the hanger) They've lost a very loyal customer. read more

I am new to the city and found this dry cleaner on Yelp. I took a few expensive fur pillow cases in to be dry cleaned. They did a lovely job and packaged well but put a scented drier sheet in the sealed bag. The items now smell so strong and I can't stand to have them in the house (as I have an allergy to strong scents). I have never known a cleaner to scent dry cleaned items this way. I would have preferred dirty pillow cases to heavily scented ones. I will never use this dry cleaner again. read more

You're better off going somewhere else. I needed a dress taken in. Woman takes the dress. I come back later after realizing she took no measurements. I put it on she safety pinned the fabric to take out. I come back a week later and I'm told they can't let the dress out, there's not enough fabric. I explained to her and the young guy that it needed to be taken in more than once. I got no call to tell me the status and I needed the dress by tomorrow 3/6. Save your time. read more

I've never gotten anything dry cleaned before. Brought a suit after getting alterations to have it cleaned and it came back in great quality. Lines were crisp and the suit looked brand new. He also was kind enough to educate me on what good alterations were because apparently the place that I took it to had done a poor job. He educated me on what was wrong with my jacket sleeve and brought over one that showed the correct way. He even pointed out stitches that were crooked and covered up. So I'm very grateful that he helped teach me! He also does alterations so I'm going to try and bring the suit back to get fixed by him since I don't trust the original ladies that did the alterations. read more

First time getting my clothes tailored and I'm satisfied with the outcome! I called in to see how much it would cost to taper and hem my dress pants. Turns out, it only costed me ~$20 which is a good deal! The owner is definitely the character and is a funny guy. I've gone to pick up my stuff on a couple of occasions (as a new client), and during the day the door was locked and a sign says to call Tony if you want to drop off or pick up. Hmmm. I don't live near by and I expect to be able to pick up my stuff during normal business hours. The owner is nice, and has a good sense of humor. A little over the top but nice. I bought a USED satin sports team jacket off of EBay that had some stains on it. All of the patches and the collar were dirty and needed some work. The owner not only got out the stains throughout the jacket and the patches but he also got out all the wear marks on the elbows I thought were permanent. Well, I'm glad I went and had Tony work his magic on this thing because after only 2 days, he had it looking like it was brand new!! Their hours of operations are clearly posted on business front door. 4/20/2024 I tried to pick up my dry cleaning twice. Once at 10:00 AM and again at 4:10pm. Business closed both times. Its my understanding from loyal customers they do not stand by their business hours. As I sit and write this review, 4 other customers came to door -checking their phone and watch to check for the time and they also left confused and frustrated. If it weren't that a neighboring business owner reported owner had been in their establishment a few moments before my showing up 2nd time today, I would have probably written review out of annoyance yet would have included I hope ownership was ok and would have considered there must have been am emergency. But apparently not. Owners come and go with no regard to posted business hours and customers time. Crazy that if clothing isn't picked up in 30 days from date left its donated, recycled or sold or something. Who knows, but how in the world can you plan your Saturday to include dry-cleaning pick up when business isn't open. You cant even leave a message. Their voice-box is full. I came in Friday to pick up the clothes and the suit. Tony told me something happened with the machine and the suit wasn't ready yet but he can have it done by tonight (I was busy that night and couldn't make it). Tony pulled the biggest of all solids for me and was able to open up the shop early Saturday morning for me to get the suit before leaving to the wedding. I previously went to this dry cleaners back when I had weekly dry cleaning to do as it was highly rated. However, I was always so confused by the warm descriptions on yelp, and the photos up on his wall. He seems like such a happy and gentle man, except for when I walk in. At the time I figured maybe I was catching him on bad days, but now I'm convinced I either look like someone else who has wronged him, or he's confusing me with someone because he's never been cheerful, happy, or pleasant to me. After going almost 2 years without needing dry cleaning done, I had to get a dress dry cleaned and decided to come back. I figured maybe he won't remember me and this time will be different. But once again he greeted me like an intruder. I had 1 dress and he said it would be a week before he could have it done. When I mentioned, oh I need it sooner so I can try somewhere else, he then asked when I needed it by. An innocent question of someone intending to provide good service, but why tell me a week to begin with if you could have done sooner? The entire exchange was him seeming confused as to what I was doing there. And not being able to answer any question I asked him, like if he needs an area code for my phone number, he ignored my question, and then couldn't understand the number I gave him. He may be hard of hearing, or other factors that I'm truly not trying to be harsh towards, he just has this demeanor that says, I don't want you here, whenever I come in. Now that I have lost some weight and fit into some of my old dry clean clothes, I anticipate the need to get regular dry cleaning again, and I won't be coming here. read more

I heard that if you want to get a stain out go see Tony. I had a white quilt that I loved. It had a yellowish stain through out the quilt. I did not have high hopes it would come out. I deliberated whether to spend the money to get it cleaned or to get a new quilt. I took my chances and went to see Tony @ #1 Cleaners. He was funny and kind. He went over the quilt to make sure he saw all of the stains. He was confident he would be able to remove all the stains. Tony is number one! Great place that offers great services. We've been going here for years and always happy to send our clothes here to get dried cleaned or altered. Never had an issue with their work/commitment. If you need something expedited, you can simply ask and they will try their best to help without extra charge. Brought in my wedding dress for dry cleaning since I dragged the tulle skirt (5 layers, including lace) through the mud. It cost me $100 (very reasonable), and Tony said 2 weeks but actually completed it in 1 week! Some people commented on Tony's affect, and I could see how his particular sense of humor could rub some people the wrong way. Seriously cannot argue with the quality. I have to admit this place is pretty awesome! The customer service is great. The gentleman who owns the shop, has a great sense of humor. The shop is located in a busy neighborhood. I've given them my 100% service. After the first couple times, I was skeptical since the guy would joke around every time I would drop off clothes or pick them up. The turn around time is about a week. They have been busy but the service still remains true to what they upheld. You can drop it off and pick it up next week by 5pm with promise! It's a reasonable price too. I had three shirts done for $13. Also I had four pants and a button up done for $23. For so much clothes, both of them can get so much done. There was one time when I needed to get my belt fixed with extra holes. He was able to punch more in it for less than two dollars. I'm greatly appreciated for this nice little mom and pop shop. I have never been to a cleaners in my entire life, until I got my most favorite white shirt that I wear to death stained with mustard. I tried every type of product you could buy in store and home concoctions and it would NOT come out. As a last ditch effort I called the cleaners around me and they all said they don't think it'll come out. Finally I researched a cleaner with the top reviews and came across this place. Horrible experience. I've been coming to this dry cleaners for years but hadn't been since before covid. I brought in my favorite blouse and asked the owner to take good care of it. He ripped a hole in the under arm area. He didn't tell me about it. When I came in, the lady said she didn't know what happened. A week later he called me and I went in to speak to him about it. He tried to blame the material (silk), then he tried to blame the fact that it was an old blouse (only 5 years old), then said he would only pay me $20 for it, when I had the receipt which showed it was $168. I will never go back to this place. Awful experience. Not only did he ruin my favorite blouse, he tried to get out of taking ownership for his mistake and then tried to swindle me out of paying for it. The store did good work and was very affordable, but i will not be giving them my business again. the story starts when my gf dropped off a bunch of work clothes for me. She misplaced the ticket so when i went in to pick up, i let them know that and asked if they could look it up under my name. He proceeded to pepper me with FIVE MINUTES of questioning about my relationship and my identity. "GIRLfriend? why don't you have a boyfriend?" he even brought in another employee into the thing. "she doesn't want a boyfriend. she has a grifriend!" this went on until i paid and got out as quickly as i could. i didn't want to write this review, but it was disrespectful and it isn't ok to treat customers like that. read more

WARNING: DO NOT BRING YOUR CLOTHES TO THIS PLACE!!! If I could give them negative stars, I would! I loved this place because it had relatively good prices and the owner is very funny and very nice.... BUT APPARENTLY VERY SHADY! My wife has very delicate expensive hand wash only clothes. She had one blouse damaged by them but she gave them the benefit of the doubt when they explained it was something to do with the material and the dye that was used to make the blouse. A couple weeks ago, she takes a lot of clothes to him and is very clear to him that it's hand wash only and very expensive clothes. He re-assured her he can handle it. Today, she pulls out one of the blouses to wear it and not only does it have a small hole by the collar, THEY COMPLETELY ALTERED THE SHIRT! They must have greatly messed it up, cut a piece off the bottom, and re-sowed it into a similar looking blouse!!! I couldn't believe it (and not that I don't believe my wife) but had to see it for myself. I go onto the website for BEBE and there it is, clearly not the shirt they returned to us! The balls on this guy!!! Instead of admitting a mistake and taking responsibility, he goes out of his way to try to deceive loyal customers who have been going to him exclusively for over a year!!! So we took the blouse back to the cleaners today; with the proof in front of him, the owner still denied he did anything. We argued for about 25 minutes, he try to say that we must have done it after taking it from his store. Then he tried to tell us it was our fault for not checking it better when we picked it up originally. All we got was excuses and the blame pushed back on us, but honestly, what can we expect, after taking the time to alter it and try to cover up his mistake, we could not expect honesty at this point. read more

Called and asked for the cost of dry cleaning dress pants, the old Vietnamese man said $5.25 per piece, and said he could be done with it by tomorrow afternoon. Showed up at the store and guess what? It's now $6 per piece; I said I just called and the price was different he said The price is higher since I want it in one day. Well that was something I specified in the phone. I think he figured it was urgent and I wouldn't bother to go somewhere else so he just raise the price when I showed up. I look up the wall and saw the price chart which read, "$5.25....and up". Yes that's right it's AT LEAST $5.25, but it can go up anywhere from there. Well if these people are honest I'm not sure what honesty means anymore. This is the perfect example of bait-and-switch. Because these people have violated the basic principle of doing business, I would rather we are dirty pants then give in to people like this. I think it's important even on individual level for us to support and encourage honesty and good customer service for business that demonstrate these merits. This place is not one of them. read more
