Do not come here!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought in a white Aritzia suit that had been worn once. There was one small mark on it, and I was told it could be taken care of. Instead, I got the suit back covered in gray and black marks throughout the garment. To be clear, I dropped off a suit with one minor issue and got back a suit covered in new ones. I picked it up, drove straight home, and as I was hanging it in my closet I started noticing mark after mark after mark. I immediately called because I was genuinely shocked by what I was seeing. They didn't care! No resolve! What is most frustrating is that nobody mentioned a thing when the suit was returned to me. A white suit covered in dark marks does not magically end up that way after leaving the store. Someone should have noticed. Someone should have said something. $400 and it had been worn once.... I trusted professionals to care for it, and it was returned in significantly worse condition than when I dropped it off. Now I have to take it to another cleaner and hope they can undo whatever happened here because I no longer trust this business to touch the garment again. Take your clothing elsewhere!! read more

Fresh Cleaners was one of the few places on Yelp that came up for me when I searched for a tailor. The owner, Helen, was very quick to respond over Yelp when I requested a quote for mending a hole in a wool sweater. I sent her a photo with a ruler for scale. When I brought it in, she mentioned it might be a little higher than the original quote - that the work isn't done by her in house so she wasn't 100% sure what the cost was going to be. That felt a little suspicious at first. The quote went from $5 to $8, but it's a sweater I really like, so I decided to take the risk that could even be higher than $8. Ultimately, the cost did end up being $8, and it's a pretty decent job - better than I could do certainly. I suppose I could have fought to keep the price at the original $5. I'm mostly surprised there aren't more tailors coming up around this area in my search. My other pieces that I got dry cleaned were at competitive prices for the area, and they were all done within a reasonable time frame. Helen is very cheery and nice. She always asks me when I need my dry-cleaning, even though it's all just boring blue and grey suits like the rest of my wardrobe. The one time I did need something done urgently it was accommodated. This place is great, and Helen is an awesome person and store owner. She is always very friendly and greets you with a sweet smile. There have been a few times I've left large items like a rug or comforter in her shop for months (oops) and she has held onto them without charging me any extra fees. I've gotten clothes cleaned her, as well as comforters, blankets, and a rug. All of them have been cleaned on a very timely and efficient basis. I like that she focuses on using green/ environmentally friendly products in her store. I have never had any issues with the cleanliness of her store or the items I have received back from her. Dropped off 3 shirts and 2 pants for cleaning. Nothing major, some sweat stains on the collars and some markings on the legs of the pants. They gave me 20% off as a new customer. Very reasonable prices. On pickup day, I see they finished 2 shirts and both the pants. The third shirt was DESTROYED. I'm talking markings and stains everywhere, and large holes/rips in the under arm area of both sleeves. According to them, there must have been some "chemical" on the shirt that reacted with their cleaning agents. They were apologetic, but refused to offer any kind of compensation, not even a discount. I started to walk out without paying for the other clothes (which were done great) and the lady asked if I was going to pay for them. I said no, carefully explained why, and she said okay. I dropped off a dress for a holiday party that was happening this past weekend. They asked if Monday would be okay, I said no I would need it by Saturday for a holiday party and if they couldn't do it I will just skip dry cleaning. They guaranteed Saturday. I came in Saturday to pick it up and it was not there and not ready. I told them I don't need it dry cleaned and they told me I can pick it up on Monday for no cost. I had to buy another holiday dress. I came in Monday to pick it up and it still was not ready or even in store ! I finally was able to pick it up on the following Tuesday while paying full cost. I rarely have my clothes dry cleaned as I only do it for pieces in my closet I want to preserve. I took in a handful of items to be cleaned. After a week, I went to get them and found stains that had not been taken out of the garments as well as hair on various items. I went back to the store in person, asking for the item with the stain to be recleaned as I didn't believe they had tried to get it out. The woman argued with me, stated the workers must not have been able to get out the stain (even though there was not a tag saying they had tried to clean it but failed, which is on all the other garments where they are unable to get out the stains). I asked her to try to clean it again but she refused. I asked for a refund and she also refused. I went home and washed the item with the stain on it in the washing machine. The stain came out with one wash. The stain incident as well as hair being on my items tells me they do not actually clean the items that are dropped off and just press them. AVOID at all costs!! I'm pretty dissatisfied with the level of customer service at this establishment. The lady owner is very rude and disrespectful. After the first time getting my dress shirt back from them with a burnt and torn sleeve, she tried to blame it on me saying try at it was probably like that before I dropped it off. Lol, uh no...but gave them another shot and continued to use them since I live in midtown. Every time I come in, she try's to make some excuse why I cannot get my clothes till the following week. In my opinion, just pure laziness. Two weeks ago I had a blood stain that I paid to get removed and told her today that it was not noticed and they never removed it and asked if I can have it redone. She then continued to put blame on me telling me that I should have brought it back same day after I waited two weeks to get this shirt back. Lol. She then kept on saying that I always keep doing this and that there is always something. Well yeah, you keep on messing up my shit. I originally started going to Fresh Cleaners because of the convenience - it is close to my house and Safeway and those factors alone drew me in. I will keep going to Fresh Cleaners because they have treated me and my precious clothes right! They have truly created a loyal customer by doing the little things that make me feel like I matter. For example, they tighten buttons on coats and blouses without asking or charging for it. They offer alteration services as well - which is convenient. They even held on to some of my clothes for over 3 months when I was broke and was avoiding picking it up. The woman who works there is always so sweet also. I pride myself on looking good, so I take care of my clothes. When an article of clothing that requires dry cleaning gets dirty, I throw it into my "dry cleaning" basket and usually let it sit there for a few months until I have the time/money to deal with it. Now that I have found Fresh Cleaners, I seem to be doing the dry cleaning chore more often because it is such a pleasant experiencel. read more

I am sorry that Amy W. had a a bad experience at Fresh Cleaners but I don't remember it saying Fresh Alterations on the door. I think they do a wonderful job at a fairly reasonable price. I had a rush job the other day. I was going to a wedding and I had for got to have my pants pressed. I was with someone who had flown in from San Diego and he needed his suit pressed. It was 9 am and we had to leave by 4pm to make it on time. If you are familiar with most cleaners they don't do same day service. We pleaded our case and the woman working there, Sue, said we could pick our stuff up at 1pm. No extra charge. No hassle. She wouldn't even let us tip her when we came back. Another time was just a few days ago when my girlfriend needed to take a silk blouse in that I accedently washed with the other laundry. While we were there my girlfriend remembers that she had left a blouse ther back in April and asked if was still there. It was. And when she paid for it Sue gave her a 10% original customer discount. How nice is that? And they have Dum Dum suckers in a bowl on the counter. read more

Last week when I opened the bag to my shirt which I had just picked up, there were two holes right in front. When I took the shirt back to the shop the woman there was very apologetic and said she's have the owner call me. I asked to speak to the owner right then. She was reluctant but I insisted. The owner told me over the phone that the shirt probably had a flaw in it which caused the holes. I asked for store credit of $25 and was told no. She also told me she couldn't be held responsible for every bit of damage they did. I'm shocked. Couldn't have had a better experience with a cleaner/tailor than I had here. They were able to fix my favorite pair of jeans that had an embarrassing rip in the crotch. I prefer not being exposed to toxic chemicals, so even though it may cost alittle more, I'm willing to pay for clothes that aren't gasing off cancer causing chemicals. The owner is directly involved with her business, so you always feel appreciated as a customer. She did an excellent job hemming my pants for only $9.95. I had 2 pairs of pants cleaned and a suit jacket for $15.50, so about $5 per item. Not bad considering they were all smelling fresh and ironed perfectly. We need to support small businesses like this one. Sacramento Natural Food Co-Op people who are health conscious should particularly give this a try. Go local! read more

Warning: Do not take your alterations to Fresh Cleaners in the Safeway shopping center. They almost ruined a pair of my pants on an alteration job. I took in a pair of pants to have them shortened by a half inch and when I picked them up they were uneven by about an inch, the cuff width was uneven and the lining wasn't altered and showed at the bottom. So I pointed this out and they agreed to fix the problem. So I went to pick them up after another week and the length was still uneven and now another inch shorter, but you couldn't see the lining. They said they could try to fix it, but I said that I would take the pants elsewhere. And then they charged me for two alterations, $30! I asked for the cost to be reduced to at least the cost of a single alteration job and she said that she had incorrectly charged me on the estimate and lining is separate alteration job and another cost! So I considered not paying, but I wanted my pants and I didn't want to be a thief. And their POS system violates the FACTA law and their copy of the receipt showed way too much information. So not only did they f-up the job they charged me twice what the estimate said on the receipt and I have to go elsewhere to get the pants fixed! damn them. read more

I'm sure this place offers fine dry cleaning services as the other reviews state (so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and give two stars), but I just got a couple pairs of pants taken in and the result was no good. The seam down the back was done sloppy and it poofs out instead of laying flat against my rear. Dry cleaning establishments often provide simple alterations services and I haven't had problems like this before. Instead of going back to try to have them fix it, I just took the pants to Friendship Tailors. I tried to go there in the first place but they were closed so went to Fresh Cleaners despite the initial bad review on alterations. My own dumb fault. read more
