Knock knock. Who's there? Dry cleaning with a side of comedy. My clothes always turn out properly cleaned and they did a beautiful job repairing the torn sleeve on my favorite winter coat. What keeps me coming back, however, is the owner's ridiculous jokes. He gets me every time and turns an errand into a fun visit. Last time, he told me he donated my clothes to charity. After a few seconds, I realized who I was talking to and laughed along with him at the panicked expression on my face. Yea they are busy for a reason...because people like what they do and come back!! Super quick turnaround may be difficult unless you specifically clarify because yes in fact people trust them with their business and yes in fact they don't have an army of people back there serving the whole city. One time I had a nasty stain all down my suit pants and part of the jacket....he was able to get everything out and looked brand new (it took a little extra time but he let me know beforehand). Brought my non-traditional wedding dress here, just imagine thousands of little laser cut petals. Dragged through old buildings, vineyards, and mopping the dance floor all.night.long. The owner was very friendly! He complimented my new bling, he knows the way to a gals heart. After looking over my dress he only charged me the standard dress price, 35 bucks! What a steal. I also come here when I have drunkenly ripped a shirt, jacket, or set of pants. I do not go anywhere else simply because of the spectacular service. He is quick and fantastic. He always asks when I want my clothes back. Every single time. They are always done on time and flawless. The owner (also a magician) has tried to set me up on dates with other customers on multiple occasions. He tells hilarious jokes and is adept in the black arts. You can mini-golf while you wait for your fine specimens to be brought to the front counter. The prices are cheap. The locale is perfect. Service is perfect. Quality is perfect. From the looks of the shop, you can tell they have their act together. I tell my friends to go here. My boss goes here. My neighbors go here. My parents should go here. You should go here. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! I moved to Sacramento a little over a year ago and #1 Cleaners is the first and only place I've taken my dry cleaning to because I've always left incredibly satisfied with the quality, price, and sense of humor of the owner. I've been meaning to write a review for this place because they seem to always come to the rescue whenever I have some sort of clothes emergency no matter how big or small the problem. Most recently, I took in one of my favorite dresses that I thought I had ruined by trying to wash myself. It was full of small dark spots all over and I brought it to #1 Cleaners in hopes that it could be saved. And let me tell you they did not disappoint! It looked spotless when I got it back the next week and I was so grateful for all the hard work the owner had put in to make it look good as new. #1 Cleaners values their customers immensely and wants to make sure they walk away happy. This local shop is the BEST in town. I brought in 3 pairs of pants with food stains that I thought were set in and there was no coming back. Tony was up for the challenge and by the time I got them back they looked liked brand new pairs. I really couldn't believe he got everything out and at a fair price. Steer clear of this place! unscrupulous pricing. Asked to have 6 shirts laundered and not dry cleaned, one of the shirts specifically was labeled as "DO NOT DRY CLEAN" All shirts came back dry cleaned. Owner said he would only charge me for laundry and the total was $39.50, when I asked the pricing for Landry vs dry clean he would not tell me, just said it would of been double. So $39.50 for Laundry? That is awfully high pricing for laundry, my guess is that he lied and charged me the dry clean price anyway. The owners are very nice and never fail to make me smile when picking up or dropping off my dry cleaning. Their sign outside claims that one day service is available, but it's not the standard. The turnaround is usually 5 weekdays unless you explicitly ask for your dry cleaning to be ready sooner. Definitely a good option with super friendly service, but not the fastest or cheapest cleaners I've encountered in Sacramento. They deserve 4 stars for customer service and good humor! read more

I have dress shirts which are...*ahem*... afflicted with severe cases of "ring-around-the-collar-aritis." He is straightforward about giving you an accurate diagnosis, and effective remedy. I can not speak highly enough of this place. I walked in with a patch needing to be sewn onto my soccer jacket and it was done in 5 minutes flat! Seriously the best dry cleaner/alterations shop in the area. I've come here before for general dry cleaning needs, but my last visit made it clear that there is nowhere else to go! Tony was able to help me alter my pants in, get this, (wait for it....) 20 minutes!! I needed an emergency alternation to my pants the day of a charity event and when I told Tony that I needed it the same day, he got right on it! The best part? He didn't even charge me extra! I would come here even if I didn't have clothes to bring in... Ummm excuse me side dating service. This guy is a one man comedy circus. The cleaning part is efficient, a little dissatisfied with a couple alterations, but then really pleased with the majority. I had him take in the leg of a couple work pants and one was uneven :/ but it ended up working out because they were made into capris and looked cuter that way but still, they could have been ruined. They did a great job relining my pea coat, even though he was convinced I should just buy a new one.. Lol this guy is too much! He also cleaned a stain from my moms shirt in seconds for free! This is the place i always go to for dry cleaning. These people that work here are very good and hard working. My clothes always come out super fresh. There was only one time where I gave him a really "stanky" dress shirt and they weren't able to the smell out but I believe it was doomed from the start. Usually when I drop off clothes they give it back to me Friday or Saturday, so they are not the fastest. This cleaners has a high amount of traffic is probably why. They do an incredibly good job though. Prices are fair, and you get a discount if it's over 30 and you pay cash. read more

Wow, so disappointed! Moved to East Sac a couple of months ago, needed to find a neighborhood cleaner. Brought in two pairs of pants and six shirts on Monday around 10:30am. Needed one shirt for an event on Wednesday, so asked if I could get that shirt ready by Tuesday afternoon. Was told that was ok, would be ready by 5pm on Tuesday. I specifically asked that the shirt be laundered, with light starch. Was told it would cost $2.50. Went to pick up the shirt on Tuesday and it was ready as promised. At this point I was told the price was $5.25! I stated that I was told the price would be $2.50. The clerk said, "...I had to dry clean to make it nice for you..." The shirt is a cheap dress shirt that is 65% polyester, it cost me $10 at Ross! I will not patronize a business that will overcharge in what was essentially a bait and switch, so I will never go back to this business. read more

I don't often need clothes laundered, but when I do, #1 is the place I go. Heck, they are #1! It's on their sign, so it must be official! I drop off my clothes and they are dirty. I pick them up and they are clean. That's all I ask! There has never been any indication that they've worn my clothes out on the town (a la Seinfeld), and nothing has come back damaged or gone missing. Once I had them patch up some old jeans, and it only cost a couple bucks. Nice. The owners are very nice and they do fine work.
