For a NYC slice/pie, you will not find better in the DC area (and beyond)! I tried 10 Pizza for the first time today with my son and immediately said, "This is the best slice I have had outside of NYC". No lie....it is that good! Perfectly crispy crust with no flop. Delicious, homemade red sauce. Interesting specialty pie choices (I had the garlic mushroom with basil). I would be in trouble if we lived closer to Falls Church. Aside from the near perfect pizza, the guy working the counter, making the pizzas, and bringing you your food was the most hospitable and gracious person. This spot has the closest to nyc pizza that I've had in this area. The crust is thin and crispy and the flavor is solid. We got a whole pepperoni pizza for $25 and it was definitely worth it. The biggest issue with this place is their time management. Not sure what the problem is but the first time we tried to order a pie, they said it would take 2 HOURS to be finished. I heard this is a problem for other customers too. So if you want good pizza on a Friday or the weekend, I wouldn't come here. We went back on a Wednesday night and it was only 20 minutes which was much better. Ended up being around $6 per slice for plain cheese as well as bianca, which compares poorly to the $4.50 at the unnamed ny pizza place in DC that's all the rage right now. Service was what you'd expect from a pizza place but I did like the mildly run down vibe of the place. However, the pizza itself ( I ordered the supreme or combination-can't remember which) was delicious. The pizza was bursting with flavor and it tasted like the ingredients were super fresh. I've never been so shocked at such good service! Joe was incredibly kind and talkative, also gave us the combo soda price even though we added a soda after the fact. Place was small and quaint. I'll hit up the robeks juice next door which is DELICIOUS! Anyways regarding 10 pizza, the salt and dough ratio seemed great with my taste pallet. What hooked me was the gentleman I met serving me started out when they opened as someone at the bottom and was promoted! Describing the ambiance would be to simply put this place as happy. This definitely scratched the NY slice itch, but I found the larger 16" was not prepared to as well as the smaller size. I'm not sure if it was the pizzaiolo or perhaps maybe the larger pizzas are just harder to make??? The garlic or garlic oil tasted undercooked or raw because it had that astringent bitter note and not the aromatic sweet or spicy fragrance. I felt like the bigger pizzas were baked at too high of a temperature and personally think it should have been baked longer at a lower temp because there was scorching (which I don't mind... love a good charcoal New Haven pizza) but the crust felt a bit soft. I also don't mind a greasy pizza.... It's pizza! But if there is some finishing olive oil perhaps this time they added too much. I think these pizzas will reheat amazingly, so I'm not too bummed. Last time I had picked up in person and had ordered like 8 smaller sized pizzas which I thought were all very good. This time I splurged and went with 3 xl for delivery. I know the pizza box really hurts the texture of a pie, but as a pizza lover these felt like they were rushed. You can see the bubbles forming on the margarita that scorched. DELIVERY REVIEW: Not in the area anymore, but usually get a pizza at least once. I decided to depart from my usual place, if for no other reason because they stopped offering jalapeño poppers. This was one of the places that did. The pizza arrived within the estimated time, but the pizza seemed as though it had been sitting around for a while. I understand it's delivery and it won't be oven-fresh, but this was barely room temp. The toppings were a bit skimpy, and the pizza quite underwhelming. Nothing memorable at all. The Caesar salad was pretty average. It comes already drenched in the dressing (with a cup of extra dressing) so if you like it dressed lightly or to do it yourself, I'd advise requesting it. Been here a few times, most recently yesterday. Very solid NY-style pizza spot located in the West End Plaza on W. Broad St. (i.e., Leesburg Pike) in Falls Church.Maybe not the absolute best, but I'd grade it as up there with the best NY-style pizza I've had in the D.C. area. I'm partial to the pepperoni pizza (which they offer "cup and char" style), but they have a wide variety of pizzas, including spicy vodka pizza which they'll have available for at least a limited amount of time. The pizza's been very good every time I come here. Small pizzas (12") start at $12, while large (18") pizzas start at $22. Pricing does seem a bit higher than your average pizza shop. Medium (14") pizzas are also available. Slices are available, though it seems you can't order by slice online - you have to go in-store or maybe even call directly to order by slice. They also have non-pizza items (wings, subs, calzones, salads, dessers, etc.) on the menu, though I can't comment on those as I've never tried them. Will note that with the traffic on Broad St./Leesburg Pike and the relatively limited amount of parking available in the shopping center 10 Pizza is located in, it can sometimes be difficult to find a parking spot at the location in the middle of the day (e.g., rush hour). There is parking in the back, but it's a bit of a walk to the pizza location. Overall a solid, local family-owned restaurant that's absolutely one of the better NY-style pizza options in the DC metro area. We ordered and paid online for two pizzas today and my husband (who is Hispanic) went in to pick them up while I waited in the car. He gave the name for our order and the person working there asked him to show ID to pick up the pizza. In my entire life, I have never been asked for ID to pick up a pizza, so it was very strange. I went in to ask why my husband was asked for ID and they said there were three Mollys who had ordered pizzas at the same time. First, hard to believe. Second, in normal circumstances, a restaurant would ask for a last name or phone number etc. Asking for ID makes it clear you don't trust the customer. Average pizza begets an average rating. Was I blown away with the amazingness of this pizza? Not really. Would I possibly order it again if I was in the area and looking for delivery? Yes. Ended up going with 10 Pizza based on the generally positive reviews indicating a NY style pizza (and a coupon on grubhub). The pizza looked pretty great once it arrived. As other remark, the level of toppings on the pizza do not match the edge to edge coverage you see in the pictures. And for a personal pizza, it seems rather large. You can choose how many slices you want it cut when you order. If you don't pick a number, your personal pizza comes cut in quarters, which is perfect for folding in half in a true NY fashion. The toppings tasted pretty good and the cheese was great. Chewy, soft thin crust. You may want to ask them to cook it a little longer if you like a crisper bottom. This is probably the easiest 5 stars I have ever given. Bottom line: this is the best pizza I have ever had. Frustratingly, we have been sleeping on this place as it has been just across the street from us for awhile. We were so impressed, that we actually ordered it two nights in a row. Here's the lowdown: the New York style crust is the perfect combination of foldable, chewy, and crispy. The red sauce is bright and flavorful and you can tell that they lovingly top each pizza with high quality ingredients. I consider myself a Margherita pizza snob and theirs did not disappoint -- buffalo mozzarella and whole leaf basil with a drizzle of olive oil. It was perfect. Their hot buffalo wings are excellent. The sauce is flavorful and the wings are well cooked. We also ordered their Caesar salad which brings me to their dressings. I can't help but wonder if their dressings are house-made because they are so, so good. The blue cheese, ranch, and Caesar dressings are some of the best I've had. Their ranch dressing conjures of up memories of an 80s pizza chain (and I mean that as a compliment) that used pepperoncini juice as a "secret ingredient". Lastly, the customer service I have received both times I have gone in to pick up our orders was second to none. It is clear that the owner and/or manager has created a great work environment. Recently my wife and I were making our way home from an evening drive when I had an urge for pizza. Wife had an urge but was on a successful diet and did not want to back track. However, she encouraged me to get some. We searched for the top establishments in VA. After reading the review for 10 Pizza it was clear where I wanted to go. I was immediately greeted by a young man with the most unique personality one could image. He made you feel like he really takes pride in his work. I quickly discovered after a followup visit that he has a true affinity for not only the pies he makes but the service he renders. I did not know what his name was until my second visit when he said Joe. Joe is beyond an amazing human being but the love that oozes from the slice of pie was on another palate level. The flavors on the pie with just pepperoni transported me to New York reminiscing on my first slice of NY pie in 1972. The crust is inexplicably the BEST NY Style, crispy, yet chewy with a hint of pure olive oil. It compliments the sauce, meats and seasonings. To continue the story of our first visit, the one slice was so good we waited another 30 minutes for a pie to be made to take home. Finally! I grew up in suburban NJ. Fresh, good NYC style pizza was a given. You couldn't throw a stone without hitting a cheap, decent place. When I moved South, there were a few good pizza places, but none of them were New York style. I had all but given up when one of their competitors wasn't open yet and I found myself outside of their shoppe. This place is tiny, so don't plan on dining in. It's right under the overpass where the perennial Falls Church traffic snarl is. The car park is BUSAY. All of this is worth it. This pizza passes the cold test with flying colour. It is perfect. There is just the right amount of grease to let you know you're eating something bad for you. It does not swim in its own juices. The specialty slices are ever so slightly more than the one topping options. You could get plain cheese, but does anyone actually do that?
