Just heard about this place and decided to try it out on Friday night. We really liked the atmosphere of the place. The main dining area was a little loud and had quite a few children in it. We went downstairs for a drink while waiting for our table. What a great place, it feels like you are in a home with a warm relaxed atmosphere. I had the blackened chicken pasta and it was excellent, it could've been served a little warmer. My wife had the tomato soup and thought it was very good after she sent it back due to it being cold. The other two people with us both liked the shaved steak sandwich and the chicken and noodles. The bread is awesome, I wish we would have been able to get a second loaf. The food and atmosphere were very good. The only downside was that we did call ahead seating and we got there we were put on the waitlist as if we just walked in, calling saved us no time. Also, while we liked our server, the service was very slow. I suspect our food sat for a while as most of it was luke warm. We will definitely be back. I hope they can improve on service and work out the call ahead seating issue. read more

This review only reflects today's visit. We tried the new weekend brunch this morning, and I'm disappointed to say that we won't be back. We were seated promptly at our reserved time. We were first given regular dinner menus, but I inquired, and we were then given brunch menus instead. The server was prompt and friendly. We ordered biscuits & gravy, a 10 West omelette with potatoes, and a là carte scrambled eggs, toast, and potatoes. We waited 35 minutes for food. The toast arrived black. Completely burnt! How the kitchen thought that was okay to serve, or how the server thought that was okay to serve is hard to understand. The scrambled eggs were cold - not lukewarm, but completely cold. They had likely been sitting for 20 minutes or so. The biscuits were not fresh, and the bottom was too hard to cut through. The gravy was good. One order of the breakfast potatoes were dark brown through the entire stack. They were like burned potato chips. They could not be eaten with a fork or knife. Again, there were 2 missed opportunities for staff to note that this was unacceptable before serving. The other stack of potatoes looked much better, and at least had some soft spots in the middle. The 10 West omelet was supposed to have sausage and ham, but there was just one tiny half moon of smoked sausage in the entire omelet. When we informed the server that the eggs were cold, he said he'd replace them. When he returned with new eggs and new toast, he informed us that he could not find a cook, so he had to do it himself. Seriously?! I asked where the cooks are, and he said probably outside. We've dined at 10 West since it opened, and will continue to visit for dinner. Met up with some friends after work on a Friday night and so so glad we did. My friend's friend owns 10 West and she had been telling me how good their food is so of course I had to come try it out. Before I had even stepped foot in the building, I already scoped the menu and knew what I wanted to try....the plum pork tacos. And holy cow....the MOST AMAZING tasting tacos I've ever had. I was left wanting more once I was finished. They were so flavorful with the hoisin sauce and it was plated very nicely with 2 tortilla chips on each side of the plate. I loved the building and decor. The lighting was moody and the walls were all brick with nice light fixtures. It would be a great place for a date night. At first when you walk in, you think the upstairs is the only part of the restaurant but when we got seated we went downstairs. Downstairs is much bigger but the building itself is pretty large which I wasn't expecting. THE DEMISE OF A FINE DINING, OLD SCHOOL STEAKHOUSE The wife and I recently went to 10 West for its Prime Rib special. I've enjoyed 10 West's Prime Rib numerous times over the years and considered it in my top 2. Our evening was, let's say, less enjoyable than what we had come to expect at 10 West; Typically, we have dined there at least twice a month over the past several years as it was one of our top places to relax with great food and a welcoming and comfortable ambiance. Now, there is a high probability that we will never eat there again. When we entered, we were greeted by the young ladies at the podium as usual. However, standing within a few feet was the new Manager, kind of hovering around. When I looked directly at him, he looked through me as if I wasn't standing there. Made me feel uncomfortable and as if I was insignificant to him. Not the welcoming greeting that we were used to from the previous Manager. PRIME RIB NIGHT has always been the highlight of my dining experiences at 10 West. Never missed an opportunity to partake. Our reservation was at 7:45, early enough that they shouldn't run out. But I still asked our server (Amy - one of 10 West's better servers) if my getting the Prime Rib "medium rare to the rare" was going to be a problem. She replied that there was plenty. However it was now $50 for the 14 oz portion, a significant increase from the last time I had it. That would be the most that I have ever paid for a Prime Rib, but it was OK because 10 West's would normally be worth the money. We ordered, had a drink and then my Caesar Salad was served. Glad to say it was still one of the best. Then my night really went to hell. When my "medium rare to the rare" Prime Rib was brought to the table, the chef came out with it. I had been served a well done piece of meat (probably the end cut). The chef said she knew it wasn't what I had ordered, but asked me to try the Prime Rib anyway to see if I might like it. I did and it was definitely over cooked for my tastes. I politely told the young lady that I didn't want it. She offered to cook me a ribeye which I declined, in that I specifically came for the Prime Rib. By that point I had been totally insulted on 2 levels; First that the kitchen knew (or should have known) when it received my order that there wasn't going to be any Prime Rib the way I ordered it; and should have told our server. And second, that the chef thought she could convince me that I might like it the way it was served and save the $50 sale. Like I was going to pay $50 for an overcooked piece of meat? When we paid our bill, without the charge for the Prime Rib, Amy said the chef had offered to send a free desert home with us. We declined - at that point we had enough of the 'New 10 West'. Additional observation: The menus were well worn and tattered; long past needing to be replaced - something you might see at a roadside diner, not a upscale restaurant. read more

My favorite restaurant in the area. I've visited twice for dinner so far. The first time I ordered a nightly special: Beef Wellington which was cooked perfectly and super delicious. My second visit I had the Peppercorn Steak which was again cooked perfectly (medium rare, of course) with a delicious peppercorn sauce with mushrooms. If you like Brussels sprouts you have to give these a try. Some of the best I've ever had. I've tried several appetizers including sesame tuna, bbq shrimp, crab stuffed mushrooms, fish tacos, and grilled cheese crostini. You can't go wrong with any of these. Save room for a dessert. The cheesecake, carrot cake, peach pie, and bread pudding are all excellent. I'd recommend the cheesecake if you haven't tried it. Amazing! read more

This was our second dinner at this restaurant. We were celebrating Mothers Day early and had 8 people. The service was very slow. By the time the waiter came for our drink orders everyone knew what they wanted for dinner but he would only take the food order once he brought the drink. So, it took longer to place our order and once we finally did it took a good while to get our food. We were so hungry I had to request bread for the table. My husbands Jambalaya was not as good as last time. The sausage was over cooked. The waiter only checked on us once. I had to go to the hostess three times. Once to request to go boxes, the next time to get our check and the third time to pay our check. To top it off, because we had a large party the tip of 20% was already included in the check. I dont think the waiter deserved 20%. We won't be eating there for awhile. We will give it some time hoping they will improve. read more

This has been my favorite restaurant for years! This place has legendary bread and the green goddess dressing on salads is to die for. For my appetizer my date and I had the spinach artichoke dip and it was fantastic. I decided to go a little off my usual order of a steak and tried the walleye and I was not disappointed! Everything that was put on my plate was top notch. These dinners are a little on the expensive side but they are well worth it if you are really looking for some quality food! We LOVED this place for dinner. The trendy, relaxing, and classy atmosphere was exactly what my family and I needed. There were so many options on the menu that we wanted to try we have to go back. I got the Pork Schnitzel and it was delicious, however it was thicker than I typically expect, but it was tender and juicy and flavorful. It came with spatzl, red cabbage and creamed corn. The red cabbage and creamed corn way exceeded my expectations!! The spatzl was absolutely delicious as expected. My family was thrilled by their meals too. My mom got the 10 West Pasta with shrimp. It was a creamy garlicky bowl of goodness. The veggies were crisp and fresh and a wonderful portion. My brother got the beef tips and loved those too. As a man of little word he said, tastes great! I made reservations this week and had to have their grilled cheese crostinis with tomato soup as an appetizer and their bacon wrapped pork tenderloin as my entree. The first time we came here it was awesome. I'm not sure what happened recently but they don't know how to cook anymore. Such a shame because it's such a quaint little place. In April we came for our anniversary and it was so awful that they gave us a gift card as an apology even though we honestly didn't even want it. So today we came back to give a second chance and use the card. We both ordered our filets medium well. They came clearly rare. Gross. I'm not sending food back. It's not difficult to grill a steak. Yum! Glad we finally decided to give this place a try. Friday Night @530 and they had just started to get busy. We were sat downstairs in the nice little bar area in a corner booth. The interior is really cool and has a relaxed vibe. The crowd was a bit older so my wife and I being in our early 30s were probably the youngest in the bar. Felt like the Friday night hot spot for the pushing 60 crowd! On the way out we realized that families and people with kids were sat upstairs so it was more of a family friendly dinner feel. I ordered the sirloin with a potato and salad and it was cooked well and super tasty! The meal comes with a little sample of corn and it was amazing! My wife had the chicken and noodles and while it was ok she was a little disappointed with her choice. We decided to both order dessert because we couldn't make up our minds on which sounded best! The big piece of peanut butter pie was really rich so we couldn't eat it all. However, we managed to smash the bread pudding. The best I have ever had and I plan to go back soon just for that! We had heard a good recommendation for 10 West and we were looking forward to celebrating our wedding anniversary dinner there. The host and our waitress were both pleasant and attentive. We ordered the tomato soup with horseradish appetizer. The "crostinis" had an off taste like they were possibly fried in artificial butter flavored oil. The walleye unfortunately had the same off flavor. The roasted Brussel sprouts with sriracha honey sauce were pretty tasty and filling. My husband had the ribeye with grilled asparagus and he said it was seasoned and cooked just as he ordered it. The wine list was disappointing, but the vodka martinis were good. read more

This place is great! The quality, service, and atmosphere is on par or better than anything you could get in downtown Indy. Their call-ahead feature is perfect! You get on the list so your wait isn't awful but there's enough time to get a drink from the cellar and hang in the lounge a bit (provided you aren't with kids). I got the filet with these AMAZING honey sriracha Brussels sprouts (and creamed corn). The cocktails are well-mixed and generously poured and the wine was...fine. My medium-rare filet was a bit more on the medium side than the rare side for my liking but the flavor and tenderness was spot on! I will absolutely be back, with friends (but not kids- while they have a kids menu this place is much more enjoyable sans children). My husband and I have been looking for a "go-to" night out place that is good but not too pretentious or over the top and this might just fit the bill! read more

Went here for the first time with another couple on Saturday October 27th. We arrived right at 4:30 as they opened because we heard it gets busy. We were the first there and seated immediately. We ordered appetizers and drinks to begin. Spinach artichoke dip and stuffed mushrooms. They brought them out and these appetizers were exceptional. Absolutely delicious. Had never seen either prepared like these were. Fantastic!! We all ordered different entrees. Beef tip bowl, chicken Marsala, chicken Milanese and salmon salad. All four dishes were beyond just good. They were outstanding. The sides like the whipped sweet potatoes and cream corn were also really good. All four of us agreed this was one of the best meals we had for quite awhile in a restaurant. I highly recommend this place. Lots of people complain about the wait and the cost of the meal. If you're worried about the wait, get there early as we did and the cost of our entire meal for the two of us having two drinks each, appetizer and entrees came to $72. That just doesn't seem out of line to me at all. Try it out. It's worth the drive. We will be back no question. read more

10 West is now a favorite! We were both tired from a long day at work and were blue from the rain. I remembered we were given a gift card to this restaurant. My husband had the all you can eat catfish (he preferred it blackened) and I had the salad and horseradish tomato soup....heaven! This is like a best kept secret in Cicero. The best part is, we had money left over and plan to come back for the burger and beer. We'll be back for the filet! On top of great food, the service was refreshing! This was our first visit to 10 West, after hearing the recommendations of several friends who are regulars here. It was also my first drive to Cicero. Since it was my birthday, we went all-out and ordered quite a bit. My Old Fashioned was so-so. The trick to making a proper, original recipe Old Fashioned cocktail is to use two or three large ice cubes rather than a lot of smaller ice cubes. Small cubes tend to melt faster, which prematurely dilutes the drink. Large ice cubes don't melt as quickly. Just a suggestion... We started with the BBQ shrimp appetizer, which was amazing. Nicely charred, but not overdone. The New York Strip was also very nicely done - cooked to order (medium) with impressive grill marks. The chef obviously went out of his/her way to get that char pattern to be uniform and symmetrical on the steak. It has no bearing on taste, but it's nice attention to detail nonetheless. The ambience is very appealing inside. The decor appears to have been recently updated, and it has the look and feel of a high-end bar, but with above average food. Service was very good. Our server claimed that it was only his second day on the job, but you couldn't tell. He seemed like a pro. So, I highly recommend this place. We'll be back. read more

Had a lovely early dinner here the other Friday night with my husband and our two young children. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious! Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and helpful. They follow strict COVID protocols which we greatly appreciated! We definitely will be back again soon without the kids in tow for a date night to check out the basement area. I went to 10 West on a recent trip home to see my mom and it definitely is a great option in Cicero. I recommend the 10 West Pasta with Shrimp. The sauce was similar to Alfredo but lighter. The shrimp was grilled really well and was worth it as a protein option. The 10 West flatbread looked like a great option also, but the bread wasn't the highlight. I also enjoyed the tomato horseradish soup and the red cabbage is a really good side. The current four star review is perfect. If you live around the area it's definitely in your rotation of go to spots to eat and isn't very expensive either! read more

WOW. First time here and my wife has always tried to get me to come here. Let me say that I am happy I did. Was seated very fast, and greeted with a warm smile by everyone we encountered. Our server was on . She made sure refills were there before needed, the appetizer was brought quick and every plate that was used seemed to disappear just as fast as the food did. The food is mostly made from scratch. The bread, sauces, etc. were DELICIOUS! My wife recommends the Pink Coconut drink. She chooses the baked horseradish encrusted walleye w/ horseradish tomato bisque & grilled asparagus and I choose the sirloin medium rare, Caesar salad & grilled asparagus. *Frankly, I'm hesitant to order walleye out most places because I've caught and eaten a lot of the fresh in Canada but she's game to try. Her plate made me a believer in the walleye here. Crispy w/ a hint of zippy and absolutely delicious! I seriously wanted to eat both of our entrees. Her bisque was surprising singular and very satisfying. Never had it before and we both liked. Both orders of grilled asparagus were a little woody for our liking but we ate it all. My steak; served closer to medium than medium rare but can't fault too badly. Excellent sear from the grill and delicious. I remark more than twice that it is, by far, the most tender sirloin I've ever eaten and very tasty. Standard caesar salad but I believe the dressing housemade as are the croutons. As per usual, we had an excellent meal in a wonderful establishment with excellent service [Thanks Aimee!]. If you're looking for a nice experience and good food/service to boot - strongly suggest you check it out! And even though we did not order dessert tonight - just do it. Tried thus place last night. Ate in basement which is 21 and over. Basement was very nice and enjoyed the atmosphere and the company of the other couple we were with. Everything we ate was wonderful except one thing. The wonderful / pretzel appetizer and the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer. Salads and tomato horseradish soup was excellent. Table had black and blue steak tips, gumbo and soup and grilled cheese - was excellent. Whipped potatoes and cream corn was delicious. The bread which was served was excellent. The UGLY - wife got the chicken and noodles. She asked if it was all white meat which the waitress said it was. Well the homemade noodles and gravy was delicious. It had chunks of chicken in it. It was the most disgusting looking chicken I have ever seen on a plate in restaurant. Anywhere for that matter. It was 30 % white meat with the remains being not fit for a dog. Chucks of fat, cartilage, dark meat and a bone. Whoever cleaned the chicken needs to be fired . How to ruin a beautiful meal was definitely accomplished by this fool. I would really give 5 stars except for this. We are not the type to complain at a waitress or waiter. It was $50 for wife and I and really believe that the waitress should have picked up on the gross factor and denied it from the kitchen. Went here for the first time to get corned beef and cabbage on St Patty's Day. This was the start of COVID-19 so they were doing take out only but everything went smoothly and it was delish!
