I called last night and Chantos was here this morning with a new windshield for my Subaru. He was friendly, fast and professional.

I was with a band on tour and we had our van window smashed out the night prior. I contacted Chantos in the morning and he wasted no time tracking down the correct replacement glass. Within 30 minutes of contacting him, he had the part and met us at the hotel, where he quickly and professionally replaced the window. He was also so kind to vacuum up the broken glass and even went above and beyond to clean up a stain I caused on the seat with his own supplies. He also quoted me lower than any of the brick and mortar glass shops near by. During the repair, my kids came home from school, and of course they were interested in what was going on. He took a moment to give them a tour of his "office" (work truck), and from the truck alone (clean, organized, well appointed -- even a solar panel on the roof to run electric) I was impressed, not to mention his work ethic and how much pride he takes in being an independent business owner. Chantos replaced the windshield on my 1999 Rav4 with little to no effort on my part. On the day of my scheduled appointment, he called to inform me that he would be a half hour late. When he arrived, I immediately noticed how open, friendly and professional he is as a person. He took one look at my windshield and told me the two dings were so minimal they didn't warrant a full windshield replacement. But due to the age of my car I wanted a new windshield so Chantos replaced it and WOW, I can't get over the difference. I made the right choice for sure. Chantos installed a high quality windshield which now makes me feel as if I am driving a brand new car! It cost $245, $100 of which I will pay out of pocket and my insurance company the rest. This review is long overdue... My car was broken into and of course they broke the most expensive window on the car :( I called all around getting quotes which seemed outrageous for the smallest window on the vehicle. Finally I called 101 Auto Glass and was quoted a price $75-$100 lower than most other places. They came next day, even met me at my work so it didn't inconvenience my day and provided an efficient, quick, friendly service :) Hopefully I don't run into another broken window problem but if I do I know who to call! read more

My husband had two windows smashed while he was at Jack London Square the other evening (yes, they smashed both the passenger and triangle window to a car that had nothing of value inside!). 101 Auto Glass made the replacement as painless as it could be. Well what can I say.... Chantos is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. It's extremely rare these days to find people who take pride in their work and Chantos definitely goes above and beyond and at a VERY reasonable price. I called him up this morning to see when he would be available this week to fix my cracked windshield and to my surprise he was available later today... great! He called me when he arrived and when I went downstairs to meet him he was cleaning a paint scrape off of my car! How nice! He even buffed and polished it too! I was enjoying a great first Friday in downtown Oakland. When I returned to my car around 10pm I discovered that someone had smashed in my back passenger car window - HOW RUDE! Service was fast and amazing. Called at around 2:00PM to get a busted rear window replaced, and he showed up 3 hours later with everything he needed. Chantos was a lifesaver. My car was broken into in one of our rainy periods, and my insurance's preferred repair company (for the window) gave me an appointment for one week later - despite the rain. Chantos was the most knowledgeable person I talked to. After getting 3 other select estimates, I learned that the premium glass the other companies were recommending has moved to China and is no longer a quality option (although some other glasses from China are).
