The driver's side window of my father's Acura was broken into so we needed a repair. I knew we needed someone mobile, because he's a senior and I didn't want him going out during the COVID outbreak. He wanted to hire the mobile glass company he always sees on commercials, but I told him they're a rip off ($450!) and set out to get him quotes. I got several local quotes ranging from $180 to $275. I messaged BVAG on Yelp for a quote and Aldinn replied in less than 5 minutes. He wanted $225. They had a lot of great yelp reviews, so we called. When I called it was a pretty easy decision to go with BVAG because of the professionalism shown during our phone conversation. He came out within 2 hours after booking the appt. I rarely post online reviews but can't resist giving a huge shout out and enthusiastic endorsement to Aldinn at Better View Auto Glass Service. When our car windows were smashed last month, I called around and was lucky enough to find Aldinn. He was very responsive, came the same day exactly when he said he would, clearly knew what he was doing, was pleasant and easy to work with, and did an all around great job. The only hitch was that for some reason the after market windows authorized by my insurance for some reason didn't work as expected, through no fault of Aldinn. But what I want to call out is what a consummate professional Aldinn was and how much he worked to advocate for me, bending over backwards in his communications with me, State Farm, and the glass distributor to resolve the issue, and ultimately with insurance approval replacing the after market windows with OEM. He was patient throughout the process and went above and beyond, fielding numerous calls from State Farm, picking up the new glass and installing it, and returning the old glass. I really felt like I had a trusted ally helping me and someone clearly on my side. In the end, with the OEM glass in place, I'm back to as good as new. A night out in Oakland might leave you with a busted window. Better View was quick to fix my window, but the hefty price tag of $400 wasn't pleasant. I willingly paid for it since the smaller rear passenger window is usually expensive and is ordered from dealer with a wait time of (2-4 days) They readily had it available and fixed both the smaller and rear passenger windows at my friend's house. They arrived 40 mins after calling and cleaned the broken glass in the back seat and trunk. He also mentioned that leaving my back seats down in Oakland and the city could prevent break-ins. I've never had a window replaced so this was a new experience for me. With that, it was also an extremely pleasant one thanks to Better View Auto Glass service. I called on a late Saturday morning after picking up my car from the mechanic. The former crack had spread across the windshield and up making a y shape. Knowing it was highly dangerous to drive, I scoured Yelp to find a quick fix. They were to answer to give me an appointment for the next day. He came out to my place in Alameda within the given time frame and bippity boppity boo, the winds hiked was replaced. It took less than 45 minutes and the silver bullet looked new. Here's my story: SOMEONE BROKE INTO MY CAR through the front passenger WINDOW in my 2007 Hyundai Sonata and stole...my user's manual? Gotta love Oaktown. So, on MLK Day I took my $166 cash and set out to fix my window. TWO SEPARATE HYUNDAI DEALERS quoted me $300 and $250, respectively, for parts and installation combined. And I'd have to PREPAY THEN WAIT two days for the window to arrive. The Pick-n-Pull in East Oakland didn't have my part, but would install it for $50 flat if I bring my own glass. THEN I called Levee at Better View Auto Glass. He had the part, was willing to come to me, at HALF THE PRICE, $155, and RIGHT NOW. SOLD! When he finished the job, I gave him $166 all the cash I had, but I would've tipped him at least $10 more if I had it. And when I asked him for a cigarette, he gave me TWO! That man gave me two. Good man. This is my first car, and I know very little about their individual parts. So I asked if he would explain everything as he was doing it. He answered all my questions and even explained it a second time if I didn't understand. And HE CHECKED HIS WORK, which just seems like the common sense thing to do. GREAT GUY! I was driving down 880 and a big rig was nearby kicking up pebbles and one hits my windshield, but there was no chip or anything; so, needless to say I was relieved. Then a hour later there was a good sized crack, then a few more hours later it had doubled in size. I called Levee and asked him if he could get it done the same day, and he agreed. I found his phone # on yelp and now after 4 months i decided to write a brief review. I had a window cracked by a large rock and it was a questionable replace - repair situation. Levee met with me at the local McDonald in the evening hours (same day i called him) and checked it out. He said its a quite a big star, but he will put extra glue and some clear patch. It took him about 20-25 min total and he said that cracks should not spread. So i give it few months to see, actually i wanted to wait for winter time, when the windshield is freezing (I live up in Sierras) and i turn on the heater to high.
