I am happy to report a very positive experience with Auto Glass On The Move. In short, the recommended vendor to fulfill my recent auto glass claim was Safelite. However, after submitting my claim, I was informed that the part had to be sourced through a Chevy dealership which could take up to 11 business days. So, after finding the glass myself at a local Chevy dealership's website, I informed Safelite of this only to be told that Safelite has a contractual agreement with a different Chevy dealership also confirming the long wait time. So I next searched the internet, found Auto Glass On The Move, explained my situation and asked if they could help. omg John is amazing. I called him at 10:30 to see if you had a replacement for my car and he already had the windows. I drove right over and he fixed them in 30 minutes. He even called insurance for me so that they could you could help walk me through the claiming process to make sure that I was only paying deductible. TL;DR - Next time you have a broken car window, personally I'd recommend asking for Auto Glass On The Move (insurance may try to push you to use Safelite but legally I believe they have to allow you to choose your own repair place). I have zero affiliation with them but they have always treated me well, been super kind, easy to work with and efficient, and I am so grateful they are still around. The long version: I've lived in Oakland for over 15 years and therefore have had my windows smashed a decent amount of times. Glass On The Move is a long time small local business that **comes to where you live** and replaces your windows on the spot. They've helped me out a number of times since 2010. My experience is they've been available to do it same-day or next day depending on what car you have / what glass parts needed, and they have been super friendly and efficient in my encounters. HOWEVER it seems like most insurance companies are pushing Safelite now and trying to route all glass fixes through them. I needed a new front windshield this week (debris hit me on the freeway and caused a crack that spread). It had been a long time, and going through my insurance was different now -- I asked specifically for Glass on The Move to do the repair, since I trust them and didn't want the hassle of dealing with a new place/company or having to drive to a repair shop. We use AAA insurance but the glass calls are handled by Safelite, and their rep was really rude on the phone yesterday and acted like she couldn't find Glass on The Move's listing, so I had to Google the physical business address and give it to her, then she finally relented and said that yes, Glass On The Move were in network with AAA, and yes, our $0 deductible glass policy covered this repair with them. Super efficient and quick, repair tech Rithy tech just finished, he was just a lovely human too. My sense, reading between the lines, is that their business has been hurt by the big corporate contracts with Safelite. I'd recommend Auto Glass on The Move to anyone! read more

Ok, nobody is happy when a pebble hits your windshield...and you're really not feeling it when several hours later the small chip spreads to a crack across half your windshield! Glass on the Move replace my Mazda CX-9 windshield several years ago. Today they replaced the windshield on my Hyundai hybrid Elantra. Guys, this is not the old days of mobile service replacing this @ your home. All my newer cars have ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) which use sensors & cameras for safety, lane centering & emergency braking! Having the ADAS calibrated after windshield replacement is mandatory!!! This is why I'm glad that my google maps history remembered Auto Glass on the Move, lol. My 2000 F250 had water on the floor on the passenger side. All of my friends said that it had to be a leaking windshield. I still had the receipt for windshield replacement 10 years ago. I called Glass on the Move & asked if they could help with a windshield that they installed 10 years ago. James at Glass on the Move said "Certainly". They give a lifetime warranty on their work. Two men at Glass on the Move spent more than an hour looking for the leak. They ruled out the windshield & then proceeded to test for the leak. I offered to pay for their service & they declined. I found Auto Glass on the Move and decided to give them a try - they will now be my go-to (although I hope it isn't a service I need often!). I called at 8:00 am when they opened, and got an actual human on the phone immediately. James, the owner, was so friendly and pleasant. He booked me for the same day, and called to make sure that I was able to send over photos for my insurance to approve the replacement. Chip repair is usually $80 + $10 for additional chips that need to be addressed, but the owner helped me start a claim with my insurance company. Essentially, James advised me that, at this point, since the damage is minor and the car is new, trying to fix the tiny chips would potentially cause more harm than leaving them alone.
