My husband and I stayed at Adrift Hotel during our honeymoon, so our expectations were high! And Adrift Hotel completely exceeded those expectations. The hotel staff greeted us with a welcome package for our dog, which she was completely obsessed with. Branded tennis ball and everything. The owner and staff gave us great, specific recommendations for places to see during our trip, including fantastic hiking and biking locations. The food at the hotel restaurant was DELICIOUS. The beach, which is right next to the hotel, was wonderfully open, with none of the intensity of Canon Beach (which I also love, but for very different reasons). The pool and saunas were lovely and clean. And we had to go home with multiple bottles from Adrift Distillery. If you're looking for a truly relaxing, fun, romantic getaway, this is it. And if you need a place that's dog-friendly, this one really is. read more

I had mixed feelings about my stay here. The property makes a strong first impression -- the staff is friendly, the lobby smells great, and the overall aesthetic is charming and inviting. There's definitely a cool, curated vibe, and the coffee/tea setup in the lobby is a nice touch. I also appreciated the complimentary bikes and the ease of using them. That said, the rooms didn't quite live up to the price point (around $400+ for two weekend nights). The building itself feels older and a bit worn beneath the cosmetic updates. Our room, in particular, showed signs of heavy use -- the bed was noticeably worn and dipped in the middle, and some of the finishes felt a bit cheap or improvised. Noise was also an issue. Despite requesting a top-floor room, we were placed directly under the restaurant, and we could hear footsteps, banging, and general activity until about midnight each night. Soundproofing overall seemed pretty minimal, which made it hard to fully relax. There were also a few small inconveniences -- no hotel phone, no central air, limited trash space, and some quirky (but not very functional) design choices like exposed cable management. The spa had potential but fell short during our visit. One sauna door didn't close properly, another wasn't working at all, and the overall experience felt underwhelming given the atmosphere they're going for. I can see the appeal of this place -- especially for families or those drawn to its aesthetic -- but for the price and volume of guests they accommodate, I expected a bit more attention to detail and upkeep. The rooms were rudimentary, which would not have been an issue with pets if the following problems were addressed. We stayed there 4 nights and got very little sleep. Our room had two full beds and was located on the 2nd floor on the back side. It was cramped for two people and one dog. The room darkening shade was ineffective against the flood lights outside the room, because we couldn't use the shades due to the heat. The trash bins beneath us were emptied Wednesday. It was a nightmare of noise between 7 and 7:30am with the trucks back-up beeping and the banging of trash bins. There was nowhere by the sink to hang a washcloth and towel. The hooks over the toilet bowl were asking for trouble if whatever hung on them fell into the toilet. I'd advise anyone thinking about staying there to check out the room before committing. I recommend that the hotel warn people before renting rooms on the 2nd floor with windows over the trash cans and floodlights glaring. I forgot to mention that the tub was very slick. I slipped while showering, but thankfully caught myself. The good was that we were able to bring our dog with us and we were close to the beach. read more

Nice property with ample of parking and great location. Hotel restaurant attached but my experience, not worth it. Receptionist described the hotel as environment friendly. Close to the beach and walking trails. Lobby has a cafe and great drink selection of juice, soda and alcohol in the coolers. Hotel room 3/5- everything seemed clean at first but closer look the floor was dusty and filled with sand but due to the light color floor boards, so wear sandals or use the broom and dust pan provided in the room. There was no laundry bag or a hotel phone in the room so if you need anything or have any questions gotta head down to the front desk. There's also no central air and the room can get very warm and humid even with our heater off. During our 2 night stay we'd take the opportunity to leave our window cracked when we'd go out so the air can circulate. The mattress was bare-able and we even had conversations with other guests that shared they found the beds uncomfortable. The curtains were hard to open and close because they were broken. The room just felt empty and kinda sad. Pool 5/5- the spa and pool are in a separate building and they provide guests with robes and pool towel that's found in your room. Pool was nicely warm and steam barrels were the highlight of our stay. It was relaxing and provided a cozy ambiance during the winter. read more

Didn't stay here but I really like the place. Dropped by because it's at the entrance to the parking of the beach. There's a restaurant at the top of the hotel that has plate glass windows facing the water so you can see the sunset. They also had live music, an old hippie guy singing jazzy classics with his guitar and it was such a beautiful way to end the night. They sat us next to the kitchen, which was irritating because no one answered the phone and the ring was super loud, so it was irritating af and hard to hear the music when it rang. The lobby was cute and had a little bit of merch (stickers are my thing and they had them!). Next time I'm in town I want to stay here. read more

Rooms are a bit smaller than pictures show. The staff is incredibly nice. The lobby has a cute coffee shop and fun snacks. There is complimentary hot coffee and tea. The building of the lobby is across the units. The TV worked great which was nice to wind down to in the evening. Wish I had time to use the heated pool. The online check in system seemed like there were a lot of extra fees (ie. per guest and resort fee) but we were not charged anything. read more

I gave this place a second chance but won't be back. Lesson learned. The fire alarm went off twice and scared the shit out of my kid. The restaurant was above our room and they banged around and made horrible noise until almost midnight. Then started again at 7am for their breakfast menu. The pool was cold which was the whole reason we come to Adrift. The restaurant food is over priced and weird. A kids grilled cheese was nothing like a kid would eat. Hard, thick bread. My red pepper rigatoni which was $26, tastes like noodles with salsa. I asked for room Service but had to go up and get it myself. Hmm...where to start... I've been to some pretty awful hotels in the past, and Adrift definitely ranks down there. Ambiance: I'm not sure what "theme" they're going for here. Unfinished building? Prison cell? Decor consisting only of dollar store rejects? Whatever they're going for, they do it really well (which is to say they're consistently bad). Upkeep: Not good. Very peculiar and inefficient room layout, particularly in the bathroom. The toilet is literally crammed so far into the side wall that using it is a challenge. The shower and bathroom walls look like they're bare concrete (they're not, but they sure look like it), and door frames are unfinished wood with big cuts removed to make room for light switches and such. Room lighting consisted of bare light bulbs, or wire cages over bulbs, for that incarceration chamber look. Being right on the beach, there is a broom and dustpan in each room, to enable patrons to sweep up the sand that will invariably get tracked into the room. Housekeeping: Terrible. I was putting on my shoes to head out the door when a knock and "housekeeping" was announced at my room. I shouted, "Sure, come on in" as I was hoping to get some fresh towels. Nobody ever came in, and nobody had been in my room by the time I got back. There was also a "housekeeping tip" envelope in my room, which seemed particularly tacky in light of that experience. Bed: More comfortable than I would have expected, and this was probably the best part of the room. The best part about Adrift as a whole is that it is literally right on the beach. Adrift seems to know that this captive audience will come regardless, and as such, doesn't see the need to make their accommodations at least a little nice. If I come back to Long Beach, I'll definitely try to find a different place to stay. read more

I stayed at this hotel and found it to be very nice overall, but I recommend avoiding some rooms on the 2nd floor. The lobby light shines brightly into the rooms all night, making sleep difficult (I'm writing this at 4:30 AM after giving up). Management should consider heavier drapes. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything needed, including a broom for beach sand. The coffee bar was a pleasant touch, and the hotel offers games, entertainment, and a pool with adults-only hours. It's steps from the beach and dog-friendly, which is a big plus. However, the hotel prominently displays LGBTQ and Black Lives Matter flags, which felt overwhelming for a vacation setting. I prefer a neutral environment and don't appreciate strong political or social statements during my stay. This hotel had a lot going for them but this impacted our experience, so I'm giving it 3 stars. read more

The guest across the hall had a dog that barked a lot because the owner kept leaving him alone. I talked to the front desk about it and the lady said they know the guest, she stays there a lot, and they are fine with the barking. It didn't seem to matter that other guests were bothered by it. We were there for 2 nights, and that dog barked for 2 nights! Then, we asked for new sheets later in the day, after housekeeping was gone. The lady at the front desk gave us double sheets for a king bed. We went back down and asked for the correct sheets, and we still received double sheets again! The dog is still barking! I'm never coming back! The only reason they got 2 stars instead of one is because the hotel is located right on the beach so we could walk down as often as we wanted. For being the price it is, I really expected more. When we entered, it is cutely decorated and looks clean. But when you walk around with no shoes your feet will literally turn brown, it's like nobody sweeps or mops? Secondly, the shower/bathtub is NASTY! I'm sure I would be able to see it much better but our bathroom lightbulb was so dim and had a bug in the light I decided I would rather wash my hair in the sink. Restaurant on the fourth floor of the west building (Pickled Fish) is pretty good, but could not enjoy ourselves due to the guests coming in, getting drunk, and everyone is being so loud and obnoxious and seems like the staff can't get a handle on the noise. Walls are so thin they provide earplugs! Great, right? No. Imagine being woken up at 6:00 AM to the sound of the person right above you literally stomping back and forth in their room. Brought our noise machine and even on max volume still can hear Bigfoot walking around above me. This place is pretty cool. They have a distillery next door ,cucumber water,nice view of the water . There is a pool , Sauna, a little day spa , bicycles rental . Nicely decorated rooms, and the best part I think is the CUCUMBER WATER..... very refreshing ,slices of cucumber in the water. The place is animal friendly, and the pets can have cucumber water too. The pool area has a fire pit , cucumber water, towels ,big area for sitting and pets on leash can enjoy the area. The distillery was cool and I enjoyed the samples. read more

My wife and I used to really enjoy coming here - super diversity friendly, loved the access to boardwalk trails and beach. The warm pool with the emo-tunes is a perk. Fun to check a fat tire bike and cruise the sand. But since the pandemic what used to be an affordable $89 per night even on summer weekends has become exorbitantly spendy for loud music, loud pups and loud kids stomping up and down the hall way. I just can't justify $500 on a weekend for what Adrift offers. I know Washington demographics have changed and the COVID price hike ain't going anywhere either. Kudos to those who can afford living here now, enjoying the things the rest of use used to but can no longer really do since this shift. Just a bummer my spouse and I who work decent paying jobs are getting priced out of weekend get-aways. read more

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay here. The pool is top notch. Very warm! Clean, saltwater, not too deep and not at all crowded. They even had some floats and a beach ball for the kids. I'd honestly come back just for the pool. We loved the views from the top floor restaurant. The close proximity to the ocean. The clam chowder is delish. Room service was also quick. The only slight things we didn't like- housekeeping seemed... non-existent? They never came during our week long stay even when we requested. Our experience with the coffee/snack bar also wasn't what we expected- they were completely out of food/baked goods every day which made it difficult to get a quick bite for little kids. Adrift is one of the unique large hotel properties on the Long Beach peninsula. It was originally the Edgewater. It was remodeled in an industrial aesthetic with 60's modern furnishings in the common areas. I will admit I'm highly opinionated and educated on design. When you do a hotel, you have a lot of rooms. So finding a design that is consistent and reasonably priced is a challenge for architects. The guest rooms use a lot of cedar and possibly hemlock, sanded with a clear finish or rough-sawn. Black iron pipe is used for shelf supports. The LED light cords are cloth-covered with vintage Edison-style bulbs. They are just bright enough for reading a book, but more light for that would be welcome. The tub surrounds are fiberglass. There is some kind of sweepable sacrificial sheet floor by the door, along with a sink outside the toilet and tub-shower room. The rest of the room had laminate flooring and carpet tiles. Personally I would never expose the grain of cedar indoors. But their room design is a good effort to break out of the hotel room design box. The bedding was fine with a variety of firm pillows, and a memory-foam topped mattress. There is a great view. One of the hotel's most appreciated amenities was a small salt water pool, a barrel sauna, and an outdoor sitting area with a gas fire pit. The pool is lukewarm to please all. It is not big enough for laps. The custom is to get on your swim-sauna wear, then head there through the halls and between buildings with one of your rooms's terry robes. Bringing shower clogs would be useful for that. There is no locker room, but there are pool towels. The lobby also has some modern couches and complementary tea and coffee. The tea is from a regional maker of blends, a nice touch. They have many snacks, drinks, and amenities for sale there. There are also some sitting and possibly working areas in the lobbies on each floor by the elevator in the West building. The Pickled Fish restaurant is medium heavy and locally sourced with a full bar and featured wines. It has great views on the 4th floor, the top floor. The battered rockfish has a thin layer and crunch, accompanied by a tartar sauce-aioli of maybe dill and parsley and a touch of horseradish. No pickles or capers. The clam chowder is medium creamy - not super thick buttery cream or a sweeter cream. There was plenty of clam and some sliced potatoes. There was a slight lemon flavor. It was not salted or with the common spices like thyme. All in all, the dishes were subtly spiced and unique in a good way. The menu is online. The restaurant service was fine. They are really not going for lighter spa cuisine options which would be a good match for the hotel. The hotel was popular for families with large dogs and small children. They are very close to the beach and the Long Beach bike trail. The hotel seemed quiet to me and there is no traffic noise. The staff was great, reaching out on their own initiative to inquire about late arrival, and the hotel was clean. I'm looking forward to returning! read more

One star for the pool and sauna, they were fine. The other star for the front desk staff, specially Cici. The other stars weren't there because our bedsheets had SAND in them. I thought the bed when we first showed up was poorly made but didn't think anything really of it, but once we got into the bed for our one and only night we were disgusted to find out the sheets weren't changed from the last guests!!!!! Absolutely NOT okay, we called the front desk and they brought new sheets up and had us change them ourselves. K. We spent $230 for ONE night as it was advertised as a "nice" hotel, and one of the better rooms at that. In the morning we checked out early, just ready to leave. As we checked out at the front desk we mentioned we wanted to talk to the hotel manager, and were told they were not there. At first all we got was a "oh sorry about that". And that they don't give out the phone number to contact the manager at because they don't have phones on site? Email? No.. okay.. Then we were just told our receipt for checkout will be sent to my email. And to have a nice day. Obviously we were upset. Cici, the on shift supervisor, did offer us $25 to the coffee bar and said that was all she was permitted to do. You hear horror stories of hotels doing shady things and think wow that can't happen to us. Well it did sadly at Adrift, and if it wasn't health related I'd brush it off, but someone else's filth in the bed that's suppose to be clean is just unacceptable from a 3 star hotel. read more

I really wanted to like this hotel. Because I love the Bowline. But I would not recommend staying here. The rooms are pretty below average. They are barebones with a motel 6 feel. You can hear everything through the crappy walls. There was zero noise control. You can hear the people talk so if your trying to get any relaxing rest don't stay. I had this hotel on my mind for a long time because the photos on the website looked so inviting. We went there finally for a two night stay for my birthday. At first, from the outside, it looked so interesting - an old motel turned into a hip, groovy place. Service is great, the staff is great, but the motel itself (yes it should be called a motel) is shabby as heck. SORRY! Not going here again. The things that were the worst about the room were the beds and the smell. The beds are not comfortable - the mattress begins to sink during the night and you slide into the middle of it. The headboard is made of wood which is fine but it's not made right, it's too flimsy and way too short. There are not enough pillows to get comfy and the small lumpy ones you do have keep sliding down. My neck was constantly cramping while trying to watch TV or write in my journal (you know, vacation thinking time stuff). The bathroom smells bad because the floor is not finished. It's this manufactured pressed material you put on the floor as the layer before the actual floor. There is no way this stuff is sanitary. It gives off a weird smell that really gets worse when you take a shower because the tiny steamy room makes the floor all damp and even more stinky. That smell makes its way into the entire room. That smell was making me feel sick and gross the whole time. Even writing about it now makes me feel BLAH. The place is noisy. I felt like we had traveled back in time to the 40s or something and were living in an apartment building on Staten Island. I heard people walking, stomping, slamming doors and doing "other stuff" each night. Seeing six packs of complimentary ear plugs on the night stands when you enter your motel room the first time is pretty telling of what you got yourself into. That basically says, "Do not unpack." A big attraction for the motel to me was the minimal vibe you can see in the deceptive website photos. It turns out the vibe is simply a white room with reclaimed wood bolted to walls to make shelves and cubbies. But still there is no where to put your stuff. Myself, husband and son had clothes and other items piling up in different corners on the dirty floors. It was becoming messy and hard to relax with no dressers or tables to use to organize things. We didn't even have that much stuff, this room was just impossible to keep tidy. Another thing I wanted to love was at least the pool. It's heated and that's where the amazing part stops. It's pretty small and busy most of the time, so it's hard to find time to relax. The website makes you think that you'll be able to access a world of zen, at times, but there are no zen times. The pool had a greasy sticky brown residue around the water line which was gross and you could see other brown stains on the walls under the water. The sauna was also used a lot and hard to get into without feeling pressure that someone else is waiting. Add 2 or 3 more saunas at this place and it would be much better. The sauna was really cool looking still as far as the design of it. Pickled Fish was yummy, that was a highlight. The only reason I am sharing this is because if you want to stay somewhere comfy for your birthday, this is not it. The rooms were overpriced. We spent 300 per night plus MORE because we got a simple charcuterie board delivered to our room each morning and two cans of beer when we first checked in. This place needs a lot more work, additions to the rooms, and to be deep cleaned. I wanted to love this place, but I couldn't. Cleanliness of the room was suspect. Amenities didn't really meet the price point. There are several positives, some that could be better developed. A great outdoor swimming pool--heated and covered. Works great for the climate of Long Beach Peninsula. Problem--the geometry is a sound chamber that can be extremely disruptive for in-room comfort during later evening hours. This is more of a guest behavior issue, and could be better moderated by the staff in those later hours (10pm/22:00 Bicycles are available to borrow--a real plus as the hotel is along a great sand dune trail (paved and pleasant for a low impact meander). They accept dogs--but charge a per-dog fee, as if three dogs do more damage than any one dog. Not refunded when dogs are perfect guests. read more

The Good - Location and the staff that works the front desk are very nice and that is about it. This is an older hotel and it showed. The room I was in was advertised as a partial ocean view lol! Yeah not the room I was given. The one thing that drives this review is the fact that I was near a stairwell and the outside door did not close all the way. This allows anyone from the outside to have access to the hotel 2nd floor without having to walk through the lobby. In the morning, when going to get coffee, I walked down a different staircase which exited into the lobby. There was an older unkept gentlemen half passed out in the stairwell between the 2nd and 3rd floor. I assumed it was a guest who had tied one on but it does make me wonder. I didn't bring the door issue to the attention of the staff as obviously it is known, but not important enough to have fixed. Ensuring the secondary exit doors close and latch should be a priority for guest safety. I like the area but I will look into other accommodations next time I visit. read more

Highlights: - dog friendly - decent room size - clean and well maintained - located next to the beach and a few blocks from the main street - free and good quality coffee, tea, and water in the lobby - on site restaurant with room service - free bike rental They also have a pool, spa, and distillery. But we did not get around to checking those out. Were too busy at the beach and doodling around town. The only thing that can use improvement is ventilation. TLTR: disgusting hotel, not up to code, not worth the money. Ive been staying at adrift since 2012, 2-3 times a year and have absolutely loved and enjoyed it... until this weekend. This weekend we arrived to a dirty room, garbage everywhere and a non responsive text line. This hotel has always been my favorite as they are so pet friendly, unfortunately when we arrived and started unloading our puppy got under the bed and started eating chocolate and candy wrappers that were left behind. I had to get down under the bed and sweep it up. On top of that the property was disgusting, trash cans full of garage to the point we couldn't toss poop bags in, garbage surrounding the outside of the hotel's property (insight of the front desk) and we saw multiple workers arrive to work speeding down the back road from the hotel to the spa/pool area while we took our dogs out. I had sent a text when we arrived that the trashcans were full and we had no where to toss our doggy poop bags and they never responded, next day they still weren't cleaned up! My fiancé is a carpenter and the entire time was flabbergasted by the lack of up to code moments. This will be my last time staying at adrift hotel. Leaving behind our wonderful memories to go and find a safer, more "worth it" hotel nearby. Maybe they shouldn't be so busy making new hotels and focus on the ones they already own. read more

I'm giving this two stars. My partner just said, "TWO?!" It's really 1.5, and 1 of those stars is just because it's reasonably clean and this is the first time I've left the house in a year. Kidding, probably. This is the loudest place I've stayed. And years ago I stayed at a hostel in New York City. A NYC hostel was quieter than this. The walls are paper thin - even if it was a generally quiet place you would still hear a mouse fart. This is not a quiet place. We were able to hear the movie the people next door were watching (Air Bud, such a classic), along with the screeching children playing ping pong (oh seriously girl, there's a ping pong table), and - I'm just guessing here - a very fat man jumping on a mini trampoline upstairs. We love dogs - we have dogs - but who lets their dogs bark for 10 min straight? People who stay here do, that's who. Beach view king had a sexy mostly-parking lot view and if we leaned waaaaaaaaaay to the left and hopped up just a little we could see past the bushes to a glorious water view. As you may read in other reviews - "rustic" nails in walls, cheap flooring, water stained crates pretending to be furniture. This is one hell of an expensive tree house. The mini fridge makes a sound like a jet taking off. But they recycle! We were originally planning to stay a few nights, but packed it in after one night, after a serious conversation about whether we'd sleep better in the car. Skip this place. Just go to the hardware store and buy a 2x4, hammer some nails in, buy a cot, get a recording of some dogs barking, put everything in your tiny bathroom at home and then spend the weekend in there. Hip, cool and trendy. None of the stuffy, formal, 'be-careful-not-to-break' decor and appointments. Interiors were a mix between industrial and country-- tables made out of pallets, painted water pipes as toilet paper holders, lamps out of bulbs, wire and pipes. Pretty cool. Pillows, Sheets, towels, robes are soft, fluffy and white. Top quality. Beds are firm and cooling memory foam (to my liking). Toiletry line is high-end. Natural and pleasantly scented. SaltwAter Pool is warm and clean, with a cedar wood sauna, fire pit, and gathering space in one place. They truly cater to families! Pretty impressive. Perfect location-- beachfront and away from the busy streets, tucked away in a quiet corner where trials and the boardwalk started. And pet friendly! The downside of our stay, we were in a room at the end of the hall on the 2nd floor. It's a no smoking hotel but the smell of weed was just too strong in our room. The room was on the pricier side, and the hotel was fully booked so there was no where else to put us when I called. They offered to treat our room, and give us some febreze. It was a great room, good sized and with a great view. There was nowhere else to go and nothing to do. We said it was ok. We hung out in the shared spaces and the pool and kept our windows open. We would have loved to try the restaurant but our group of 3 families (12 people) was too big to be accommodated even with a reservation. Maybe they were trying to adhere to Covid safety precautions. It's one of the more expensive hotels we've stayed in for an overnight stay and we only did it because it was a gathering for family members' birthdays. We'll come back to stay at this hotel again, but maybe we'll time it so our stay would be cheaper. read more

We usually love to stay here. But our recent stay was less than desirable. While our grandchildren were using the pool they were yelled at for splashing while other children were as well. As a grandmother of a trans child I am very disappointed with the tolerance of all children. One individual who was working in the pool area was unsupportive to children enjoying their stay. read more

To our surprise, the pool has "adult only" hours in the AM and PM that are NOT listed on their WEBSITE and or mentioned when BOOKING a room over the phone/WEBSITE... So we paid ~$300 for nothing. Our "ocean view" room is a sliver of the ocean across a packed parking lot. Eclectic decor is what I'd call "hostel chic". Small rooms with cheap pine trim and shelves resting on exposed plumbing apparently "designed" to be eclectic but comes off looking cheap, cookie-cutter and rushed. Thin walls, loud, heavy-footed neighbors above. Must be why there are earplugs supplied in our rooms. On the upside it's close to the beach. If you're going to spend 99% of your time on the beach and come back LATE, fine. If you're looking for a nice quiet getaway, it's definitely NOT worth the price or the loss of serenity. We need a vacation from our vacation. read more

We love staying here because it's known to be a great dog hotel. The Pickle Fish has amazing food and the hotel is right next to the boardwalk. However, tonight we got a noise complaint text within the first few minutes of being here. We just dropped off our luggage and left the dogs in the room so we can go upstairs for dinner. We have never had an issue with the dogs by themselves before. My wife ended up eating dinner with the dogs in our room while I was by myself in the restaurant. This was not a good start to our weekend getaway. However, it all turned out ok in the end. Adrift needs to tell customers that this is a pet hotel and you may hear dog noises on occasion. read more

The beds are lumpy and uncomfortable as FUDGE! I mean, you would find better beds at a $40 motel. You can hear every movement upstairs (we were on the first floor). Half the windows didn't have screens, so I couldn't open them all for a nice ocean breeze which sucked. No A/C available for the room, but there is a noisey box fan available if you're into that. Lol. Wifi, didn't work for shizzzzz, when I texted the front desk they acted like I was stupid saying "none of our other guests gave complained." Uh. Okay. Thanks for "help." I mean I understand not being capable of fixing it yourself.....but at least AKNOWLEDGE my complaint and pretend you'll have someone look into it! Interpersonal skills were seriously lacking. Their "texting services" sucked. They encourage you to ask questions via text instead of calling or going to the lobby (which due to covid, I understood). However, they won't respond for hours. Pool was closed and it wasn't posted anywhere before booking nor was I informed during check in. The biggest reason for us booking this hotel was for the amenities, specifically the pool. Our kid loves to swim. Anyways, the sign for the pool said it would re-open by 8 am following day, but that never happened. So I had a very sad and disappointed 11 year old. All in all, this place was totally overpriced for the lack of amenities and discomfort. You're paying $250+ a night for beach access only. My advice, don't waste your time or money. read more

I live locally but I have no bathtub, just a walk in shower. So I booked a night here, so I could have a nice bath. I was quoted my room price over the phone but was not advised that there was an extra charge for my dog (I told them at booking I would be bringing one). This surprised me because most hotels do charge extra for pets. Upon checkout, I found out I was charged for my pet AND I was charged an amenities fee. I have never heard of an amenities fee before. Upon getting in my room, I found the floor in the bathroom falling apart. This really shocked me as this is said to be a nicer hotel. My ocean view was a parking lot and the hotel across the street. I also noted that the lights are just bulbs hanging from the ceiling by a rope. Thank goodness I do not have a toddler, because those would have been a game of Tarzan waiting to happen, not to mention the potential for a toddler getting burned by an exposed blub. I also noticed that the curtain does not close all the way, so you cannot dress in the main room, you have to do it in the bathroom. Otherwise the folks at the hotel across the street can see directly into your room. I took my pup for a walk, got dinner and then went to take that bath that I wanted so badly. When I went into the bathroom, I found that the tub/shower was a two piece set tub on the bottom, surround shower on the top. The area that separates the two was covered in mold. Making it impossible and unsafe to take a bath. Parents, please be aware of this before putting your littles in the tub. So I gave up on the bath (only reason for booking the room), and climbed into bed. The entire night, I got zero sleep. You can hear every sound in that place. I heard barking, talking, walking, all night long. At 6 am, I finally gave up, went to check out, only to find those charges for my pet (which was fine) and an amenities fee. I could not even use the tub, yet was charged for amenities. read more

I cannot believe for the price I paid there was no air conditioning! I asked the front desk why it isn't disclosed that there is no AC and they said they don't like to advertise that, of course not but to drive 3 hours to find a hot uncomfortable room is unacceptable for $250 a night. The lobby and the hallway to the rooms have AC and then I opened the room door and the stifling musty heat blew me away. There was a portable floor fan, like that made it better. The window didn't bring any circulation. The mattress is so poor that my feet are elevated because the head of the bed sinks down. No coffee in the room. The pictures online looked nothing like my room. The floor is peeling, there are chew marks on the bottom of the bathroom door. I never ever write reviews but I'm so dumb founded by this dump I had to. read more
