We came in for a work holiday party and had a table of 12. The service was really good from the waiter to the bus boys, they were all very attentive and personable! We had the seafood tower as an appetizer which was great! Fresh jumbo shrimp, meaty crab legs, oysters, this was one of the better appetizers I had this year and they actually gave us Moe food than we were able to eat! As an entree I had the strip which was tasty the only reason I didn't give this review 5 stars was that I ordered it medium and it was closer to Well but still very tasty! I was also able to taste the filet which was very good.. we had mac n cheese and mashed potatoes and mushrooms as sides which were also very good and tasty! I will absolutely be back to 101, it is not a bad ride for those OTP and is as good as any steakhouse ITP! read more

Enjoyable Thanksgiving meal good choices I had the crab cakes,lots of crab with delicious remoulade, leg of lamb cooked to perfection, our sides were collard greens sweet and tangy, pimento cheese Mac & cheese mild and chewy, mushrooms with brussels sprouts also a favorite. Members of my party had the salmon the skin was crispy and enjoyed by them. The people serving the meals did a great job. We had a great time the food was prepared with expertise. Excellent meal again last night. Consistently one of the best steakhouses in Atlanta. PEI oysters were delicious and the delmonico was cooked perfectly, as was my wife's strip. Pretty good steakhouse but to me pretty pricey for the quality of food. Nice intimate setting for a night out with your loved one but wouldn't take a first date. This place is just average! I'm comparing this restaurant to Little Ally's and Hal's. I'm not impressed. The good the calamari appetizer is delicious. The egg role appetizer was decent. The sides were served family style with more than enough to share. My favorite is the corn brûlée. The Brussel sprouts were flavorful and delicious. The steaks were nothing extravagant for the prices. The filet was over cooked no flavor and lacked quality. I would re-visit for appetizer and sides. The service was exceptional. Made a reservation here for a special (week night) dinner with my husband. I feel like we were robbed. Service was slow and the food was unremarkable. We had to send our "porterhouse for two" back because it was very under-cooked. In hindsight, we suspect it also was smaller than advertised. Manager offered us free dessert because of the steak issue but that didn't make up for the meal. We left two half-eaten desserts, most of our sides, and $150 less in our wallets after our meal here. There is NO way we'll return and suspect they close their doors within 6 months. read more

I am reading the reviews of 101 Steak, and I'm wondering if this is the same steakhouse I visited last night. The restaurant has a nice ambiance; however, it is overpriced. My husband and I ordered the 24 oz. bone-in ribeye ($69ea). It was a nice size; however, it was bland at best. I ordered a side of mashed potatoes (bland). We also ordered chocolate cake, and vanilla gelato. This was the best part of the meal. However for $180, I could have just skipped to the dessert. I had better steak at Outback, Longhorn, and California Dreaming. So forget the overpriced and bland food, Atlanta has a million steakhouses that are far better! read more

Excellent steak restaurant. I had the USDA Prime dry aged bone in sirloin. They cooked it rare with a char on the outside. Most excellent. Cooked to perfection. All the sides I had were amazing. The asparagus, creamed corn, brussel sprouts and collards were all served family style. The creamed corn was the hit. Highly recommend. Service was phenomenal. read more

I really, really want to like 101 Steak. However, the establishment comes up a bit short. First off, our service was slow and our server frequently forgot bring us drinks and other items we ordered. At one point a member of my dining party got frustrated and had to walk up directly to the bar to get their drink. The cut of meat I had was extremely fatty. I expect some fat on a ribeye steak, however this particular cut had a good 4 inches of fat on on the corners. Another member of my dining party ordered the shrimp, which came underprepared. Both dishes were sent back. The manager did try to make it up to me by replacing the ribeye with the fillet - however the fillet came out extremely charred, and have the cut a very burnt/carbon like taste. The bake potatoes was bit undercooked and firm. All in all a disappointing dining experience. As a neighborhood local, I really would have liked this to be my go to steak house when I have friends and family in town - however after my dining experience I unfortunately do not see my self ever returning. I think the intangibles are there as far as location and ambiance, however the food quality and service is way off for the price point. Let's hope they can turn things around. read more

Just left 101 Steak for a business lunch and it was spectacular! Atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing and wait staff was spot on. The GM checked on us during our meal and had a quick, friendly conversation as we made our way out. All 3 of us had the petite filet medium to med-well and it was perfection. Not overly spiced. You could cut it with a butter knife (almost). We shared brussel sprouts, jalapeno corn and sauteed spinach. Spinach could have used more garlic, but the sprouts and corn were amazing! Our waitress suggested the chocolate cake and she was right. We shared it 3 ways and it was perfect: moist, delicious cake with a light but wonderful creme chocolate icing. Couldn't decide at first if we wanted to try 101 Steak out, but now we are SO glad we did. Our go-to's for a nice steak dinner are always Hal's, Marcel, and Little Alley. Since we love those so much, we have a hard time trying a new steak house. We do love some of the other concepts from the same owners, like Food 101. So, we decided to give it a try. The steaks were pretty much what we expected- fantastic filet accompanied with butters and sauces that are right in line with some of our favorite places. But.... the sides... omg. The Mac and Cheese and Crispy Brussels were to die for. Also, the calamari and shrimp is wonderful. All in all, living close by in Smyrna, we will definitely be back, and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend! read more

Visited Friday evening for a birthday steak dinner. It started well with good cocktails, but service was off from the start. I saw our server all over the restaurant; he was definitely stretched thin so maybe they were short staffed. Soup and salad were good; the highlight was the French onion soup. We kept being told that bread was coming. When it showed up we were presented one popover in a basket like it was a prize. It was the best food of the meal. I would have ask for another one of those golden babies if I had known it was going to be 30 minutes before our steak arrived, but we had ordered the Porterhouse, and didn't want to waist belly space on bread. I remember telling my partner that our food had better be perfect because we waited so long for it. I think that statement might have jinxed us.The big piece of meat arrive grey, dry and lukewarm; the butter sitting on top trying its best to melt. The french fries ($7 pomme frites) were not hot and the Brussels sprouts drowned in a not great Asian sauce. To his credit our server acknowledged right away that the steak was over. To his credit the manager also acknowledged that the steak was over. We sucked it up an ate it because, dang, we had been there for two hours already and we were hungry. In the end the steak and fries were comped, and a piece of good cheesecake was thrown in. We left with a $150 tab after a major adjustment to our bill. I'd have rather paid the full price, had great service, great food and a great birthday dinner. Others around us, and we had a lot of time to observe, seemed to enjoy their food, and the burger looked great, especially to two fat guys that waited two hours for their food to arrive. My wife and I recently tried 101 Steak, and we absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is one of the coolest in Atlanta. We had the Crab-Cake appetizer, and we both agreed that it was one of the best that we have ever had! For my entree, I ordered the Ribeye and a side of Mac and Cheese. It was perfect! My steak was cooked just right and it tasted delicious! The Mac and Cheese was unique and yummy! I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. We will definitely be back for more! read more

My boyfriend and I came here on a date and were impressed by the ambiance and wait staff. However neither of these could make up for the disaster which was dinner. We ordered the 89 dollar tomahawk steak which the waiter explained was considered the best steak in house. We ordered it medium rare. In the mean time we were offered their pop overs which were a mouthful of salt. When we got the steak, it was charcoal. Raw and cold on the inside and burnt to hell on the outside. Our sides, the jalapeño corn was borderline too salty and sweet. The buttermilk whipped potatoes were the only good thing we had that day. Our tab came out to be nearly 120 dollars and we've had better steak at Outback Steakhouse. Definitely do not recommend. read more

Reservations were at 7, and we were seated right away. Hostesses were very kind. Seating for two in the downstairs main area is crowded, too close to people next to us and could hear all of their conversations etc, was not "romantic"in that sense. Our waiter was alright, he seemed actually quite smug. And service was EXTREMELY slow. If you are going there, expect to spend an hour to two hours. Steak was cooked perfectly for us, however both couples on either side got theirs after, and were well overcooked. (We got ours medium rare, the others ordered the same, but it was definitely almost even well done on one of them). The food was very tasty and atmosphere is calm, minus being so close to the other patrons. Our least favorite part was honestly our server. He just seemed almost a little rude, which we didn't appreciate at all. We were irritated at some points, didnt pay much attention to us. I understand it was a very crowded time to go, but service to us is almost more important than food quality. Took probably over 30 minutes for him to ask for our entree order AFTER we had already gotten our appetizer. Just very slow and not the kindest. Will probably try again in about 6 months or so. figure, since it is a new restaurant, still working out the kinks. On another note - When did restaurants stop enforcing dress code restrictions? Had a whole family come in in flip flops and shorts. I was in a dress and heels. Very shocking for such an upscale restaurant to allow that sort of dress. read more

Truly one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had in many years. I went there on Christmas Eve. The restaurant seemed to be moderately busy but not slammed. It took close to 90 minutes for our order to come out of the kitchen and my $46 Delmonico that I ordered Medium came out well done and harder than shoe leather. I really had high expectations based on the menu and prices. I would recommended driving a little further and going to Chops or the Capital Grill. read more
