I am visiting Atlanta for a business trip and this restaurant was recommended by a coworker. It is located with a view of the Atlanta Braves stadium and was a fabulous location with plenty of shops and other restaurants. This restaurant was beautiful inside with such nice details in the decor, high ceilings, and nice selections of steak and seafood. I opted for the wage steakburger, cause why not?? That burger literally melted in my mouth. It came with a horseradish mayo which I was nervous about but gave it just the kick it needed. My coworker got the steak frites and the steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The bernaise sauce was ok but not the best I've had. Crab ragoons had a lil spicy sauce which was a nice surprise and oysters were delicious. This is a higher price point but worth every penny

Best Lobster hollandaise I've had in a long time!!!!! Nestled perfectly at The Battery adjacent to the stadium. Ample paid parking is available using the Red Lot. Absolutely love the high end vibes! From the large high scaled ceilings and the beautiful soft cognac leather seats!! Our reservations were for 5:30 on a lovely Saturday afternoon. Was seated quickly and was greeted by staff as they went about their way. Our server Armon gave us the warmest greeting!! I absolutely love when the server is knowledgeable about the menu and can make suggestions. Recommendations were spot on!!!! Featured Items ~ Loaded Potato Skins . . .Highly recommend adding the side of lobster with hollandaise on the side. The potato skins were perfectly crisp, not oily. And the lobster was perfect perfection. Delicious amount was even able to half to accompany my Steak. Charbroiled Oysters . . . I ordered the 3 , good size full and packed with flavor all items served à la carte Beef Tenderloin Filet* 6oz. . . Temperature Medium prepared with perfect pink in the middle. USDA Prime Delmonico Ribeye* 16oz Angus, Linz Heritage. . . Perfectly marbled ends and definitely recommend adding the bone broth butter. Shareable Sides Olive Oil & Garlic Sautéed Spinach . . . Wonderfully seasoned Brussel Sprouts with Apple Cider and Bacon . . . Sauteed with good size pieces of bacon Service was top notch! Definitely looking forward to returning !!

    Crab Rangoons were tasty

This restaurant was incredible!! Our group was able to reserve a private room and everything was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff were super quick and diligent about taking our orders. I couldn't have asked for a better restaurant experience.

Started with excellent service and a personalized card for one of our guests who we were celebrating. Food was great but the highlight for sure was the corn side which was out of this world!

10/10!! The food was so good, the service was on point, and I can't believe this hidden gem steakhouse isn't talked about more!

Such a great spot in the Battery!! I have been to this spot a couple times- before a Braves game and a weekday lunch (I work in the area)! And after both, I think this is the perfect spot for a nice dinner on a non game-day weekend or quick meal before a game. It is definitely a slower restaurant that expects their guests to enjoy the meal and take their time. We struggled with that, when we had to get back to work and were close on time. The Chicken salad with Cajun seasoning was delicious, and I love their cocktails!! Definitely a great spot to try if you haven't been! In the heart of the Battery.

This place is really nice. I came here last night with my husband after a Braves game. It was our first time here. He has been craving oysters and they had some for $5 each, so we ordered a few as an appetizer. He loved them. I was basic and got a shrimp po boy. My husband ordered a steak with spinach. His food was bomb. Mine was good too but his was definitely better. We didn't wait long at all to be seated. I also noticed the manager was really attentive, walking around and checking on tables. Our server was super nice too. I really liked the decor and the overall vibe. We would definitely come back.

A little brunch before the game :)

If you follow me, you know I need my breakfast (brunch if it's the weekend). I stayed in Battery for all star weekend and wasn't sure I'd find brunch but I did, and it was jazzy!! Indoor and outdoor seating, you can also sit at the bar. They had live jazz playing inside (which i loooove) but it wasn't my vibe at the moment and it was a really nice day, so I opted to site outside which was super shady and cool. My server Chadwick was a pleasure! Brunch is until 3 but they stop allowing you to order brunch items by 1:45. Limited in brunch option but there are a la cart items. I ordered the Wagyu steak and a side of eggs. It was so juicy and just wanted I wanted! Was dying to try their bacon shrimp and grits but they only have one portion size and I just wanted a taste lol. With that a 2 glasses of Prosecco, my bill came out to $80. Note! If you're with a group, they do NOT split the check more than 2 ways. So know who's picking up the check! Definitely not bad for a steak house. I would visit again!

A friend of mine invited me to this restaurant. They ordered oysters and they were $5 each. I had the Grouper and it was crispy ands delicious. The spinach was very well cooked and you could taste the greens. The sauce or the juice was an added bonus. Definitely a great meal. The service and ambiance was very good and very professional. The restaurant was nicely decorated. The only reason I gave it a 4 star it is due to the prices but what can you expect when you are next to the stadium.

    Anniversary note

Went for our anniversary and had a great time! Our waitress was so precious and bubbly and made us feel special. The food was delicious! I absolutely love the decorations and vibe of the whole place. It's refreshing decor and very unique. We will definitely be back!!

I had a truly pleasant business lunch here yesterday. We made reservations. The restaurant was not that crowded and everything was so very kind and accommodating from the hostess to the bartender to those providing service. Our waitress, Gabi, was so sweet. She served us with excellence. This spot is in a great location--just near the main entrance of the ballpark and parking in the Red Deck is best. I started with the Crab Rangoons. Honestly, they were not the best I've ever had and they are really the reason I gave the restaurant 4 instead of 5 stars. They were served a little cold and I really didn't like the sauce they came with. I've had better ones at a neighborhood Chinese takeaway. My entree, however, was superb. The salmon was cooked to perfection--I like a more well-done Salmon and this was it. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've every had. They made them likely my Grandmother used to--they were truly creamed and silky in texture. I like that. They have some the best Brussels I've had in Truist. Yardhouse across the way serves a spicier option that is just a little bit off-putting to me. I like a more savory, soften presentation and consistency of my Brussels, almost like we do cabbage in the South. We didn't have dessert. Great location! I'd like to sample more of their appetizers. It's perfect for a business lunch or date night. C. Ellets is quite elegant in and of itself. They do a great job!

Apple Cobbler was ok, but I'd try something else next time.

After a year in Atlanta we finally made it to a Braves game (playing my home town Padres) and while I kick myself in the butt for not eating anything at the park, our desire to avoid traffic and my need to eat sent us packing to C. Ellet's for a leisurely dinner. My overall perspective is that our service and food was much better than the reviews would have led me to believe in advance. Started off with cocktails me with a Juno (cachaça, strawberry-mint syrup, benedictine, lime, peychauds) and and my wife a Self Care (rye, matcha, mint, rhubarb, velvet falernum, demerara) and while both were good, my vote goes for the Self Care. Kicked off the food fest with Crab Ragoons that were good and served with a sweet/tangy dipping sauce that found it's way onto just about everything else we ordered at one time or another. We shared the Bevette Black Angus and that was a good call as we had two more items coming our way! We are Onion Ring fanatics and have had more than our share around the country. Yes, the generously sized Vidalia Rings inside a beautifully textured are equally generous crispy breading on the outside, and soft and lusciously delightful inside were to die for! These are not to be missed; if they are on the menu, just get the damn things! We finished things off with the Apple Cobbler and frankly it was average at best. Came with a scoop of nice ice cream but the cobbler was warm at best and the bread/crust was lackluster and uninspiring to me. Unfortunately, I suggest trying something else for a dessert. Overall we had excellent service from everyone we came in contact with and our server (Ilene(?)) was the bomb and certainly a reason to go back. Everything we had was worthy of return trip other than the cobbler (but there are many options left!).

Since it was our first time there, they took the time to walk us through some of the best items on and off the menu, and shared their favorite dishes. Everything was done with care. The restaurant was clean, the bathroom was amazing, and the food was worth every dollar. The short rib was so tender, and the New York strip was seasoned to perfection and cooked medium well just how we like it. The twice-baked potato loaded with bacon, sour cream, chives, and cheese was delicious, and the mac and cheese was so good. I also appreciated that they allowed me to order it without the roasted saltine crackers. I can't wait to visit again!

This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary!

Our daughter spent the first few minutes waving at the staff, and they genuinely lit up every time -- such a warm, welcoming vibe right from the jump. Starters We kicked things off with the she‑crab soup, and that's when we knew the meal was going to be special. Tons of rich crab flavor and chunks of crab. The crispy shrimp toast was another hit -- crunchy, savory, and a great pairing with the soup. We also ordered the Baker's Dozen oysters, chef's selection. All 13 were fresh, clean, and briny in the best way. Next up: the Spanish octopus, and honestly... top five octopus dish we've had. Cooked perfectly -- tender, melt‑in‑your‑mouth texture. The salsa macha added just the right amount of heat, and the marcona almonds brought a great crunch with the cilantro, lime, and mint brightening everything up. What a beautifully composed dish. We finished with the Halibut and Lady peas. The Halibut was topped with lobster and served with a lobster butter sauce, chives, and capers. Rich, buttery, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The lady peas (fava beans, asparagus, and a generous mound of blue crab) were another standout. So much flavor, but everything complemented each other instead of competing. When we got the lobster we got a full tail but one claw and no knuckles. When we addressed with the server, she argued with us that that's how a lobster is and that there could be more meat hidden on the plate. It felt like she thought we were there to just get more food by saying "so what do you want, more meat" but if we had it in the shell we would have received our full portion. The manager on duty tried to make it up to us by comping the lobster but it was more than that. After going back and forth with the server we just wanted the check to leave. The manager on duty insisted to give us the lobster and take it home. The server wasn't very polite and argued with us about the lobster. I wish I remembered the servers name With that said, the amount of money we have spent there over the years, it's unfortunate that that will be our last time going to the Optimist.
