I've been eyeing this place since it opened almost two months ago and I finally had lunch here today! Atmosphere was very fresh and chic! There was a center piece that was made out of drift wood and succulents that I really enjoyed. Cleanliness and hygiene were both superb. Silverware and water glass was clean and everything seemed sanitary. Food was great but needs more variety. I would like to see some seafood item on the menu! Like salmon or shrimp. Also, the menu needs to have something vegan or an option of tofu on salads. I ordered the cheese plate and I think it was a great value. The cheeses weren't my favorite but it's still nice to graze on and you can't beat those yummy nuts! Everything seemed fresh and not stale. Service was great. We had the pleasure of talking to Noah and he was very kind. I think there needs to be some price adjustments to the menu. The sangria seemed great for $8 but the rose for $10 seemed a bit much for such a small pour. Overall definitely coming back. Thos is our neighborhood spot that never disappoints! My "go to" is the tri tip sliders. I am not drinking right now so I ordered an elderberry spritz which was delicious! I have had the frozé slushies and they are delicious as are the sangrias. You can order a flight and taste them all! -Pro tip, ask for the "hot" barbecue sauce. It is amazing but beware, it is hot! I stopped by for a quick early dinner while my car charged at the EVgo station behind the restaurant. I told the bartender I had to be out in an hour and he made sure I was despite it being kind of busy for 3:00 in the afternoon. I ordered the pork ribs and salad. The ribs were good but nothing special and the salad was quite good being fresh, cold and refreshing. After over a year of visiting 101(from a bad experience) we decided to try again per my families recommendations we came to r&b live music which we were soo excited for . We ordered a beer, 3 combo with a sides of beans, Jalapeño Mac & cheese, and salad... the first waitress helping passed me to what seemed to be the owner the gentelman told me he would bring me my beer but forgot .. it just so happened to me my brother who ordered after me and offered To bring me my beer... for the food IT WAS BUSY so we waited 35-40 mins & were patient finally i went to the front to ask and in a panic between the waitress and owner they brought us our COLD food. Jalapeño Mac & cheese that had NO jalapeño a combo plate that was supposed to have sausage but no sausage & Missing the beans. Frustrated is an understatement . The owner "tried" to make it right by brining extra meat but we were so hungry we had already started eating the cold food . 56$ DOWN THE DRAIN 0/10 recommend . I had a lunch date planned with my mom and sister at 12:30. When we got there, the atmosphere was great. We were greeted and served right away by a friendly waiter. About halfway through our meal a dj set up a turntable and started playing really loud music. The music was good, just incredibly loud. We couldn't hear each other talk and it was distracting. I asked our waiter if he could get the dj to turn it down and he told us we would have to ask the dj ourselves because it was a private party. That made zero sense to us so we decided to move outside and try to make the best of our lunch. I think 101 Wine Press could have handled a loud event during lunch time much differently. Stopped in for a quick drink today and was really pleased with the service, menu, and concept of 101 Wine Press. Bartender was quick and respectful, he was knowledgeable of the breweries they carry and was quick to recommend drinks to my unsure self. While we are just visiting, we are excited to return before we head back home!! Great service! The food was AMAZING! We ordered the tri tip meal and the chicken thigh. The chicken was juicy and the chili is to die for.

We ordered some tri-tip sandwiches. It has been some time since we ordered something from the Wine Press. The sandwiches were good. Just a little pricey. What isn't nowadays though, right? But the chili was terrible. I bit into a large chunk of garlic. Needless to say it didn't taste good. There were also 2 other large chunks of garlic in the other order of chili. If this is how they make their chili, we would never order that again. If they made a mistake, well management better retrain their cooks. Needless to say the chili did not taste good and we didn't finish them. Too bad because as a local resident, I don't think I would go back. read more

Sadly, quality has gone down the past few times we have ordered meals here. Size of Tri Tip Sandwich and chicken sandwiches and amount of meat was very disappointing for all meals. Bones in chicken in the chicken salad is dangerous. Prices do not equate what you are getting, inflation or not. Broccoli Salad had fermented or unpleasant odor and was really watery. read more

Finally had the chance to visit this spot. Excellent bbq. We tried the tri tip sliders, ribs, Mac & cheese and a side of broccoli salad. Tri tips sliders and ribs were on point, tender and flavorful. Mac & Cheese could of been a littler warmer, was not disappointed. The beer flights were good. Tried the watermelon mimosa light and crisp. Can't wait to try their Unicorn sangria the next time. It was pretty popular with the crowd. Loved the fact that their incorporating live music on Friday's. Can't wait to see what else is in store this summer. My wife and I were driving our 2024 RV Van from Arizona to Oregon taken the 101 route. Tired and hungry we chose a restaurant that our local RV site suggested which was convenient being only five minutes away. They had a patio and accommodated our dogs...so far so good. There was one other couple with their dogs just finishing their dinner while listening to the live band. We sat on the same row as them. Five minutes later, a group of five sat behind us. Two minutes later, the waitress came out passing us with a stack of menus thinking two were sure ours. She went straight to the big group to give the menus to all. We looked at her hoping she will come back with another set of menus. After another 10 minutes, she came back out with five glasses of water to give to the group behind us. She did not acknowledged us sitting there with no menus nor did she make eye contact even if she had to pass by us to get to the group behind us. After a total of 20 min sitting there, we just left. I was baffled by her lack of customer service to us but yet she acknowledged the people behind us. Lessons learned. read more

I came here tonight after a 12 hour work day, had no time for lunch. So obviously when you are hungry everything usually tastes ohhhh so good, this is not the case here. I really wanted to like this place, correction, I really wanted to LOVE this place. We got seated immediately even if it was packed, no 15-20% capacity here, we are now orange tier so indoor dining is open. The server came and got our drink order after 15 minutes being seated but the couple to our right that was seated right before us had their drink order within 5 minutes. No complaints because I saw it was busy and it seemed understaff. After getting our drinks we ordered our food, pulled pork sandwhich for our appetizer, I ordered the ribs and hubby ordered the tri-tip, we both had the jalapeño Mac n cheese. I am still cool about everything, even if 20 minutes pass and our "neighbor" receives their food. Then a party of 4 is seated in front of us. I asked for utensils since our table did not have any, the server then got ours but forgot to give a knife for my husband. Still calm. 30 minutes pass and the party of 4 receives their food and ours has NOT arrived. NOW I am not happy. I order a carrot cupcake because I am starving at this point and then of course the appetizer, pulled pork sandwich comes out, Murphy's law. The cupcake is very moist and not too dense. Finally our food arrives, and the couple that sat down 2 minutes ahead of us asks for their check as they are done with their meal. Their server and maybe the owner asks them how they are and if they waited long, of course they said "no and food was amazing", but no one checked up on us or asked how was our food. Two minute difference two different experience. For the food. The pulled pork was dry. I suspect that it was waiting outside for awhile. Our food, the jalapeno Mac n cheese had a kick too bad it was COLD. I did not touch it after one bite. I brought it home to heat it up in the microwave. My ribs had great potential as I tasted the flavor when I bit into it but then it was cold. It could have fallen off the bone if it was heated. The tri-tip was so so. I eat all meat without the bbq sauce so It will not mask the taste. The tri-tip had a faint smoke ring which is always nice to see but the meat was tough and not juicy. I have gone to the Nugget rib cook off in Reno and travel to Texas just to eat bbq in different cities I can say I know good bbq with a bite and lick. I wanted to be a regular here, maybe if we were then, our food, service and overall experience would have been better but how can we be regulars if we were not satisfied. Would I come back again... I would have to convince my husband but at this point unfortunately not anytime soon. I want to like this place but it mostly disappointed me. It's been on my list since they do a good job advertising their food and drink on social media. Let's start from the beginning: we walked right in and took a seat at the bar where we were mostly ignored for 10-15 minutes. There were no more than 6 people seated there including us. We finally ordered two drinks, sangria and some sort of sparkling drink called the Unicorn. They were ok, but it took over 10 mins to get them. The place wasn't even super busy. Next we ordered a sausage and cheese appetizer; good flavorful sausage with some delicious mustards. The cheese, subpar. Obviously cut off some warehouse store cheese block. I'll add it took a llloonngg time to get this to us. Food wise, we wanted to try a variety. We ordered ribs, chicken, tri-tip, and sides. Ribs were cold and not tender. Cold dry tri-tip. The chicken was good, warm and Smokey. I ordered jalapeño mac and cheese, it was watery and cold. Use some flour people! Save your money, unless you're a local and it seems like this place is the only show in town, plenty of other good BBQ spots that serve hot/warm food in a timely manner. read more

Finally opened on Valentines day! This is a local (our neighbors here in Prunedale) Kevin Olson and family winery up on the hill. This is there own wine offered here, they also offer Folktale wines and a few beers on tap. This is also a BBQ place with chicken, Tri Tip and sausage plates. They also have a couple of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and some sides. I tried the beans today and they were barely luke warm and more like soup, not alot of flavor going on there. First day jitters I am guessing. But I do plan on coming back to try their BBQ. They do have a nice bar to sit at and have Tv's on the wall to watch sports. read more

I'm so excited to have a high quality BBQ spot right here in Prunedale! My husband treated me to a date night this past weekend and we decided to give this hot, new spot a try..... it did not disappoint! Everything from the wine and cheese platter to the magnificent tri tip salad (one of the best I've ever had!) my hubby loved his tri tip sandwich! It's the kind of meat that melts in your mouth it's cooked so well! They really take pride in outstanding customer service (Richard at the bar was super knowledgeable and friendly). Everyone was happy and eager to make your experience great! The wine is some of the best I've had! Do yourself a favor and order a glass of '14' Pinot, or a glass of bubbly which is also local, from the Carmel Valley! Angelica eventually came over to the counter to help me and when I began to order the ribs, she cut me off and rudely let me know they were out of ribs. Eventually came to the consensus of ordering the tri-tip meal, in which she let me know it would take about 20 minutes. Well, 40 minutes later standing there waiting for her to even acknowledge me, some other lady came up and assisted me. After a few more minutes, a different lady came out with a sandwich. Not only was Angelica a bitch, she got my order wrong. After watching her walk around aimlessly for those 40 minutes, I thought to myself I could've done all of their jobs better than them and with no damn training. I can give the Wine Press 5 stars for the ambiance. I had the tri tip and the flavor was pretty good, my tri tip was a little tuff with gristle. We went with friends and they enjoyed it and were very happy. I'm sorry but $23 for a half pound meal is just way too high. I do a much better job of garlic bread or toast. Here is a restaurant fighting the fight against covid rules right! Food is great, staff very friendly, he's got heaters for his outdoor seating which is good cause prunedale gets cold. The inside is gorgeous, but sadly is inaccessible do to covid laws. And, like many locations, it was never designed to have outdoor seating. The owner is doing the best he can with that, but thats only reason it didnt get 5 star. The food, however, is really good. Beer on tap was awesome, my wife and i came away happy we stopped. Give it a go, you wont be sorry, and any restaurant that can stay afloat in "covidfornia" deserves to thrive! read more
