A clam chowder starter (delicious!), a huge loaded baked potato, veggie sides that weren't mushy & garlic bread where you can taste the garlic. Elsewhere, we'd have to order those separately. The best part of our meal was our server, Maddie. She was super attentive and friendly. The place was packed and we snagged the last table before others had to wait. We figured Maddie would drop our food off and we'd never see her again, being the mad house it was. But she checked back with us at least 5 times - filled my drink without me asking. It was the best service I got all year anywhere. Thank you, Maddie, for restoring my faith in great customer service!

Good thing we live in Hollister so that we can frequent this place again. Husband and I shared the Cowboy Burger: 1/2 Angus beef with onion ring, BBQ sauce, we switched out the Jack cheese for swiss.... and we opted for a salad instead of fries. W I had a Michelada (this was ok) and a pink lemonade buzz ball. Husband had the Blind Pig. Everything was great. It was a hot day, but our servers were attentive even with the menu delay. We were chilling. Def would come back!

Oh gosh, put a fork in me. It was so fabulous!!…read more It's always hard to find really good barbecue out west. But this place does. Succulent pulled pork, outstanding, tender, tri-tip, the cornbread was unbelievably wonderful, great mac & cheese, and brussels sprouts were really good. I love the selection of barbecue sauces, and yes, the Alabama hot is good on the brussels sprouts! Service was quick and friendly, and the price was wonderful, especially considering how much food we got. Five stars and five thumbs up.

A nice little place amongst a quiet neighborhood with an awesome outdoor seating area. We were…read moreseated right away and our server was very personable and truly appeared to enjoy her job. We ordered a two meat plate (brisket & jalapeño cheddar sausage) with two sides: loaded baked potato and bbq beans. Hubby is a bbq connoisseur and felt that the brisket was a bit overcooked, needed more rub but the cut and fat were on point. The sausage was tasty and the beans were out of this world. The potato was a good size filled with the works. The main downfall: the food needed to be hotter, it was barely warm. The cheese on the potato wasn't melted and the beans were literally cold. The pickled onions and pickles were a welcome addition along with the Texas toast. One pet peeve I have is observing cooks eating & drinking coke with their bare hands while serving up plates. This practice is okay at home but not in a restaurant. The Smoke Point BBQ is a charming establishment near Mission San Juan Bautista. It's a good little place to stop in for some homemade grub.

For something more filling, recommend the rotisserie chicken. The salad is lighter, but still satisfying. We called to see if we needed a reservation for our big family and the lady took our name and party size just in case. We arrived and the weren't ready for us, asking us to wait outside for 5 minutes. After getting our menus ready the woman in the front walked us to our seat which was on the bar side of the restaurant. They sat us at a table that would best be sat for 4 people comfortably, but the 5 of us (two hire chairs) squeezed in and made it work. The water took our drinker order and we asked to order our food as well. We ordered Pepperoni (kids), burger and fries (kids), two chicken strips and fries (kids), roasted beet salad with salmon and a Cowboy burger. We then asked if we could order the appetizer which consisted of chips and dip (queso and guac) and bang bag BBQ boneless chicken wings. The first thing to come out were the drinks, the the chicken wings. The littles were starving so we wound up sharing the wings with them and I am surprised they ate it because they did have a little kick to them. They were sweet and spicy at the same time. My husband and I ate those pretty fast with the littles while the older boys played tic-tac-toe. The kids burger for my oldest and two chicken tender plates with fries came next. The chicken was so hot we had to cut it up and redirect the littles to eat the fries before
