I came into this establishment last weekend with another party for some dinner on the water. The restaurant is a former clubhouse for residential condos/apartments across the street. Therefore, when guests walk inside, they will notice how quaint the establishment is as well as the gated pool that is adjacent to the restaurant. Without further ado, here we go... Tuna Tostadas This starter was a mix of ahi sushi-grade tuna with onions, spices, fresh avocado, and wasabi aioli for a flavor profile that is light yet punchy. Aside from the ahi being at the height of freshness on this dish, the avocado added the perfect amount of creaminess to these tostadas. French Onion Soup Yikes, while I enjoy a good French onion soup, my soup was salty, and the cheese was "off." This is unfortunate as this is such a simple soup to make. I sent this menu item back. Perhaps for ya'll who go to the restaurant after me and give it a try, you can DM me and let me know what ya'll think. Sound like a plan? Seafood Pasta This Creole Shrimp Pasta is accompanied by a creamy sauce and is further layered with aromatic onions, garlic, salt, pepper, basil, and a splash of lime juice. Definitely the highlight meal during our stay in Kerrville need a reservation to get seated. View to river is beautiful @ Sunset. Diana had Pork Tenderloin on a bed of corn grits and she cleaned the plate a rare accomplishment for her, I went with the Sirloin 10 oz with potatoes steak was charred nicely and medium rare they used a compound butter which made each bite one to savor a good chew on the way to the tummy. Interesting spot when you feel like having a little bit of a fancy meal. Main reason for the 3 star was the initial first impression for service. The place was basically empty on a Sunday at 5pm for dinner and the host made a special exception to even consider seat my part aside from the fact they were empty when we arrived and pretty much thru our entire dining service. The view of the lake is pretty nice but only available for tables of 4 or less so take that into consideration. There were some outside tables but I can't imagine dining out there being very comfortable. Overall food was good and actual table service was good as well. read more

Party of 5 for a celebratory dinner. We arrive at 6:15 and we're probably seated on the patio. The sun was setting and it was a little warm but not bad. The staff helped adjust the screen to minimize the sun and glare. Our waiter, Trevor, was incredibly accommodating right on point provide a good advice on the menu and deliver food promptly. We were very pleased with our service. Our guests had Seabass, lamb, antelope, and seafood linguine. Everyone was very happy with their choices. This place has an unbelievable wine list for its size and location. We enjoyed a wonderful red blend chaos theory. All of us had a great time and would definitely recommend it. read more

This is an elegant dining spot with wide river views. Dress is casual. Tyler was an excellent server. We had a great dinner here. The lamb was cooked to perfection. One of the ribeyes was undercooked. The other was a perfect medium rare. The salmon was good, but the real hit was the seabass. The muscles were on the fishy side, but we still finished them. They were super accommodating to us; we made a reservation at 8 but were like 20 minutes late; they didn't care! On a Friday night too. It was quiet when we got there. I wish we would have been able to see the river with the sun up, but the view was remarkable regardless. The food was awesome, Tyler was our server and he was very patient. We got a half dessert portion of the chocolate hazelnut tart for our anniversary, which was a sweet gesture and delicious! We loved it, would definitely return when we visit the area again. I got the salmon and my husband got the lamb. The lamb was awesome and the potatoes gratin side with it was great. The orzo with the salmon was some of the best I ever had. read more

Relaxing atmosphere and pleasant staff. The presentation of the food is great, and the tastes are, too. Everything was seasoned well, no need to add extra salt or pepper. The bread they bring out at the beginning, though?! Excellent. I had the lamb and it was good, but definitely not the best I've had. I didn't like that they put it on top of the yogurt; I prefer to have the option to dip it. The risotto patties (can't remember if that's what they were called) are a bit of an acquired taste/texture. The pork tenderloin was a nice mix of sweet and savory. The salmon was actually my favorite - crispy on the outside and tender inside. Their sopapillas are good, but not really authentic, imo. I've eaten here several times, and have always had a well prepared meal, cooked to order and presented well. Service is excellent and you can always get a recommendation on the wines. My wife and I have dined at this establishment several times in the past, mostly when we are celebrating our anniversaries. Not once have we been disappointed in the meals or the service. And again, just this past evening, we dined there to celebrate and as always the food and service was impeccable! Our server, I believe Travis was his name, was very polite and attentive and got orders complete exactly as we requested. Then, to top off the meal, he brought us a complimentary desert after we finished the main course. What a nice gesture and we enjoyed it very much. The ambiance is very low key. The dining area isn't overly decorated, and the noise level is low even when the tables are almost all full of diners. The view is very nice of the Guadalupe River and you can request a river view seating if you so desire. We made our reservations by using the OPEN TABLE app and when we arrived, the staff had all the information and seated us early and where we had requested. I recently dined solo here because my husband was detained by work. I had fantastic well seasoned and perfectly cooked mussels to start. They were out of Osso Buco, so I tried the antelope CFS, which was perfectly tender...one of the best I've had, way beyond a typical CFS with some seriously good creamy and peppery gravy. I take my food (especially pricey food) seriously and that night was great. Had a steak there in the last trip that I would only give 3.5-4 stars, but my daughter had excellent lamb. The river views, the well curated wine list, and the really professional service are a plus. read more

We went to celebrate our 27th anniversary. Let's start with the service. I can't remember our servers name but she told us she one year younger than our marriage and she was just cute as can be and very attentive. We started with the seared Caesar salad which was tasty. My husband got the filet and he enjoyed it. The bite he shared was good. I got the pork tenderloin with ancho coffee rub with corn relish and grits. Oh my goodness, was it ever delicious. Tons of flavor and I'm now on the search for a coffee ancho rub I can try out at home. I loved it and had to stop myself from finishing it all because I wanted to save room for dessert(s). Yes. PLURAL. Because we ordered three. We got a complimentary chocolate hazelnut torte which was so delicious. My husband got a lemon desert and I got the crème brûlée. Were our eyes bigger than our stomachs? Maybe a little! Was it worth it to sample three deserts on a special occasion? YES! The views were spectacular. The service was great. The food was wonderful. On June 24th friends invited Peg and me to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at 1011 Bistro. I ate there several years ago, when it was under different ownership; the food was excellent then, so I was excited about trying it once again. We ordered the Mozzarella Burrata for an appetizer. Peg and one of our friends ordered the rack of lamb, his wife the red snapper; I chose the sea bass. The burrata was excellent and came with grape tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, basil salt and crostini. The dish was well-balanced and the crostini were properly prepared--just crispy enough around the crust with the interior remaining a bit soft. The racks of lamb were four-bone, served with mint-yogurt sauce (nice departure from the usual mint jelly), parmesan risotto cakes, and roasted tomatoes. I tried to sneak a bite from Peg's plate but she threatened me with a fork, so I thought better of it. I did give her my best Sad Puppy Dog Eyes (Pat. Pend.) and she gifted me a morsel of the risotto cake. Crunchy exterior, creamy interior--quite nice. Our friend's red snapper was blackened & grilled and accompanied by lemon butter and edamame-corn succotash. I didn't get a taste but from her yummy sounds and eyes rolling heavenward, I knew she was enjoying it. She had never had soy beans and was somewhat hesitant to try them; but after a bite she gobbled them up. My sea bass was crusted with an almond-panko mixture, topped with orange butter and sat atop a bed of Chinese black rice with roasted carrots on the side. If you've never had it, black rice often stands in for wild rice as it looks similar (albeit shorter grained), is less expensive and has the same mouth feel; the flavor is different but pleasant. Unfortunately, the carrots had seen much better days; they were shriveled, hard and only lukewarm. The sea bass, however, was perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful--everything it should be. And now I'll answer the question you're begging to ask: if the food, with the exception of the carrots, was excellent, why only three stars? Gentle Reader, if there is one thing that "gets my goat," as we say in the Glorious South, it's the old Bait and Switch. I automatically deduct two stars as it is a form of dishonesty that, having owned two restaurants in Europe in my younger years, I detest. Yes, I expect it in fast food places but not in a high-end establishment such as 1011 Bistro. Look at the sea bass photo posted by the business on this Yelp page, then look at my photo of the same dish. A bit of a difference, yes? The dishes Peg and my friends had were accurately represented by the business's photos. For $32 dollars, it was a rip-off, pure and simple. As much as I enjoyed the food, their dishonesty prevents me from returning. read more

Cozy little place located along the river. It was dark when we arrived at 7, but I'm sure the views are great! Excellent service - our server (I think his name was Taylor?...) was attentive, present, and gave us space to enjoy our evening. For starters, we ordered the crab cakes. They came out very quickly and a dark brown, which was a red flag for me. I gave them a taste and was not happy with the choice I'd made. The crab cakes were overdone and tasted like a tuna casserole that had been re-heated too often in a microwave. Our server noticed we had moved them to the side and came to check-in. He apologized, took them away, and let us know the crab cakes would be removed from our tab. The bread was spectacular. Fluffy, soft, and wonderful. We really enjoyed it. Our meals arrived and I can't lie; I was shocked to see the saddest haricots verts I have ever seen in my life. They were white in spots, chargrilled black in others, and most definitely were NOT fresh. My steak was unusually tough for a ribeye; no juiciness or true buttery tender of a quality ribeye and mine was overcooked. The butter that was on top of my steak never even melted because the steak just wasn't hot. It wasn't cold, but, for something charred on a grill and overcooked from the barely medium-rare I'd ordered, the butter should have at least melted. That being said, the mashed potatoes were heavenly! Great job there. My fella ordered the snapper "blackened". I think they missed the memo on what "blackened" means. It was so overdone. Charred to a dry, flavor lacking strip of something. Meanwhile, the succotash was so yummy! Black beans, edamame, and sweet corn; a unique blend of flavors that worked well together. For dessert, we got the whiskey cake & Blood Orange dessert. The Whiskey Cake was absolutely incredible; moist and sweet and just scrumptious. Blood Orange Semifreddo was the perfect amount of tart and sweet. Absolutely enjoyed it! While the food left me with mixed thoughts and wondering how they'd acquired such great ratings, I also wondered why they weren't using more fresh ingredients. Much of the food was obviously canned or old, which changed the whole experience of the meal. COVID Info: The tables have hand sanitizer, which I felt was a really kind gesture. While I do think this is a great spot for a Happy Hour during sunset, I don't think we would ever eat here again when visiting. read more
