This was my first time ever at this particular coffee shop, and I was so happy I found it when I did!! I was looking for something heavier than a pastry and found out they had breakfast sandwiches and their own bagels! Score!! To my surprise, they also had specialty drinks so I had to get the Blondie latte with a plant-based milk. I asked the lady if it was sweet and she said it came with a tablespoon of brown sugar. But they could switch it and make it a teaspoon instead. Perfect! As I got my latte it was amazing!! The espresso used in the latte was actually a mild roast coffee so I really liked the flavor of it roast and it was Organic!! Win-win!! Since I'm trying to avoid dairy at the moment, I asked if I could get the lox bagel sandwich without cream cheese and replace it with avocado. The lady at the register asked another barista behind her and she said it was fine! Perfect!! You also get to pick out what type of bagel you want, so I wanted to try something different and got the sun-dried tomato and basil or something like that! The sweet flavors of the herbs in the bagel and then the juiciness of the tomato baked into the bread once simply wonderfully with my breakfast sandwich!! There's a cute little waiting area inside with at least 10 tables or seats along the breakfast bar counter and a couple of tables. There's also a very large outdoor seating area, but I was cold so I wanted to sit inside to warm up my body since I was going to go to yoga on the beach. I had only planned on eating half the bagel sandwich but honestly, it was so good when it came out. I sat there for a good 20 minutes until I ate the whole thing!! Lol so funny!! I was so stuffed I had to walk an extra mile before I could start my yoga on the beach! As I sat enjoying my breakfast sandwich, I got to overhear the two barista's talk about music!! One of the baristas allowed her device to search new genres of music while the other barista specifically looked up different genres of music she liked and then would tell her device to find music of that era. Had an amazing breakfast burrito (the Works Burrito) at Firefly Coffee House! The burrito was huge and came out piping hot with melted cheese, and the chorizo was super flavorful. I couldn't finish all of it so I saved some for later. Don't forget to try their homemade hot sauce - it was great and had a nice kick. The Americano was good as well. It's a small place with only a few seats inside but plenty more seats outside. Service was friendly & efficient. My only complaint is that there are no restrooms. read more

I didn't manage to take any pictures unfortunately cause we ate here after the swim leg of our Iron Man Relay and were starving. The breakfast burritos are HUGE and delicious I had 1/2 yesterday then saved the other half for today. The salsa is spicy fresh and delicious accompaniment to my burrito. Others tried the bagel sandwiches and said they were also delicious and perfectly messy with the cream cheese and avocado combination. Now to the coffee loves the specials they were offering got the McFly with oat milk and it was the perfect pick me up. While the line was long we got through it very swiftly and our food bad drinks came out fast and hot. Cute little cafe not far from the beach with some nice outdoor seating. Such a good find for a little neighborhood coffee spot. Service here is always amazing, but this time I wasn't able to stop in and was so happy to see they deliver to the area. Everything showed up warm and delicious. The bagels... seriously the best. Always. Soft, fresh, and somehow hit every time. Breakfast burritos are also a go-to. The chorizo is super flavorful and the vegan soyrizo option is also pretty good. My order came with "have a turtle-ific day" written on the cup, and when I took the sleeve off there was a cute little turtle drawing underneath. Totally unnecessary, totally appreciated. Mocha and Chai- eh, not bad but it won't bring me back. $34 experience I'd expect more than an Eh.... Exit is clearly labeled but no entry is clear. This is such an amazing coffee shop! But come for the homemade bagels which you can do with cream cheese or as a breakfast sandwich. The bagels are thin and airy and so good. The coffee is a very light roast so tastes very mild. We were there on a Sunday and it was crowded but they are well staffed and the food and drinks come out quick! If you see a line, don't be discouraged. This is definitely worth the weight and they will likely get through the line quickly. read more

I can't really give a review of the establishment itself but, we were able to order breakfast and have it delivered directly to the lobby of our hotel which was very cool. We were too tired to get up and look for food so a place that offered delivery was great. I had the Kitchen Sink breakfast sandwich which had bacon, avocado, tomato, jalapeño, chives & cream cheese. It was good and very filling! I also had a cafe au lait which I don't see very often on menus. Also very good. Aside from bagels and sandwiches they have a few breakfast burritos and a bowl. Their jalapeño cheddar bagel by itself is magnificent. Probably my favorite jalapeño cheddar bagel I've had. You know it's fresh and they add a lot of jalapeños on top!! Breakfast bagel amazing. A great amount of egg, big slices of green onions, just a slather of cream cheese. I do wanna say tho, the top of my sandwich was good needed salt but then I hit the bottom of my sandwich and it was salty. Overall, still good! The crème brûlée coffee, probably also another one of my favorites. Not too sweet. The extra shot of espresso was definitely what I needed. On April 12, 2026, I purchased two lox and bagels from Firefly. I gave one to a friend and I ate one. We both ended-up in the hospital with food poisoning. The severe dehydration from my food poisoning triggered a stroke and now my life is ruined. Perfect if you are starving or great hangover cure. Pro Tip: have them cut the bagel and/or burrito in two ahead of time so you can take your extras home or donate the half you don't finish to the homeless further in town. Found this coffee house when heading out of town from a weekend trip to Santa Cruz. When we arrived there was a line snaking around the building so we knew this place was about to be good! Waited in line for 10 minutes and another 15 minutes to get our food and drinks, but it was worth the wait! I ordered the bagel breakfast sandwich and it was LOADED with so much egg, definitely gave me my moneys worth. The peach tea was also yummy and my spouse said the breakfast burrito he ordered was yummy. Cute shop, great food, friendly service, would be back if ever in town! This is definitely a hidden gem in Santa Cruz that I would not have otherwise found if it wasn't for Yelp- so thank you! I had trouble finding the location because it's tucked away, but otherwise there's lots of room for parking. Firefly Coffee House has bagels with different spreads and other breakfast menu items like burritos and scrambles. These bagels are so worth the visit and the price you pay. The place itself is a bit small and had very few seating options. It's definitely a place where you grab-n-go. The staff were very friendly. They were good at communicating how long something would take and answering any questions. I got the Kitchen Sink on a Tomato Cheddar bagel and it was bomb.
