Amazing prices and great food. The iced cardamom honey latte was soo unique and tasty. We also got the BLA sandwich which was good and definitely great for the cost. The ambiance was very laid back. We were able to sit outside for over an hour and enjoy downtown Santa Cruz. The service was also great for a cafe. Cafe Delmarette is one of the most coziest cafes in downtown Santa Cruz. The menu is big, and offers so many options. My go to is the Lox Toast. The capers on top are amazing! But, seating is limited. You will most likely not find a seat, and this cafe is not suitable for big groups of people. There are no outlets for charging. read more

I came here early in the morning because nothing else was open and I needed breakfast. I ordered a sandwich, and it was actually quite good. However, I feel it's important to mention that the place was extremely filthy and dirty. Additionally, the worker was not wearing gloves while preparing the sandwiches. He was touching various surfaces around the counter and then continued making food without proper sanitation, which was very concerning. I had been to Delmarette about four years ago and I like that they serve sandwiches with fresh crispy chips! Yes. The place itself is really small both inside and the al fresco patio. When I went, I read the menu and scanned for something good, I got a cold brew oatmeal milk and a BLA to match. Size wise I thought that the size of the sandwich was on the smaller side, it was more like something to hold me over for a couple hours. The bacon was good, lettuce was lettuce, avocado and aioli was a perfect fusion, I definitely recommend it. Customer service was ok. Enso forever. Oatmilk. Smallish table on the inside. Low key, cozy cafe in downtown Santa Cruz with reasonable prices. Perfect for a quick bite (sandwiches, salads, and soups) or a sweet treat. Definitely pick up a scone if they still have them, made in-house with unique flavors. They made an almond cake years ago that I still think about, but unfortunately they don't make it anymore. They switch up the coffee that they use occasionally. Last week they had bags of coffee beans from Chromatic Coffee (San Jose) for sale. Iced teas are excellent for the coffee avoidant; I really like the caramelized pear iced tea. Cream/sugar/honey/etc is at a self-serve counter to customize to your liking. It's quite small inside the cafe, with limited outdoor seating. They have stamp cards and also offer $0.25 off if you bring your own cup! read more

Cafe Delmarette is a simple yet charming little cafe right on Pacific that is perfect for people watching. My friend and I dropped by on Christmas Eve after seeing nothing else open on the strip (surprisingly). I ordered the Vegan Sandwich ($9) which were two slices of potato-toast spread with hummus and topped with avocado and sprouts. Was the sandwich good? Yep. Was it pretty simple in execution? Yes, that too. Nothing too spectacular from my sandwich and I also thought the slices of toast were smaller than my omnivore friends' meal. It was still tasty and I enjoyed having it during our little lunch date. Our sandwiches also came with a side of homemade chips. Currently only offering outdoor seating. I had a terrible experience there with a barista named Margeaux. I went in for a coffee ordered my thing normally and this barista was looking at me and whispering to her coworker. I don't know this girl and seriously I don't know what her problem was. Her service made me feel unwelcome and I was told to never come back to the restaurant after literally just ordering a drink and waiting for it patiently. I've been meaning to try Delmarette and I'm so glad I did! Really tiny place with a couple tables inside but a really quaint seating area outside, located right downtown. These drinks are the cheapest I've found so far in Santa Cruz, my latte was $3.75! They also serve salads and sandwiches that I'll have to come back to try at some point. Service was a bit rushed. but was still professional. The barista who made my latte was so kind! We had bought pastries beforehand from a different shop, but Delmarette's scones look superb. This is a cute little cafe right on Pacific Avenue in downtown Santa Cruz. It is the perfect place to stop by for a quick breakfast or lunch, and a coffee. They change their coffee menu occasionally, and offer unique lattes. Today I had an otter latte which had cardamom and cocoa. The flavor was wonderful! They have savory and sweet pastries, and a great selection of salads and sandwiches that are made in house. I loved the simple avocado toast that had pea shoots, avocado, salt and pepper, and a little hint of lemon, it seemed. It's a small place and feels a little crowded inside. So I just wanna begin by saying this place is amazing normally... The coffee drinks, Matcha, chai, salads and toast. But I feel like I had a write a review right now about the breakfast or the lack there of. So I went in to order the oatmeal and a nice coffee drink, and the coffee was amazing, but the serving of the oatmeal was an infant size portion. I am a man needing to feed myself before a full hard day of work and the serving must've been about an eighth of a cup of oatmeal dry that they served me with a few berries as their plate. Please change your portions on this! If you're gonna offer oatmeal, you need to at least, serve enough for a serving. 1/2-3/4 cup dry oatmeal before cooking would suffice with maybe 8 berries instead of three. read more

Probably one of the best places to get a good, filling breakfast without breaking the bank. Moved to the area a few years back and this is where I liked to take my friends when they are visiting. we got the BLA sandwich and matcha latte! the sandwich was super good with bacon lettuce avocado, and it also came with a side of chips. the matcha latte was really good too, it was not too sweet and easy to drink, but you can always add honey or sugar if you prefer it sweeter! there's A LOT of options to choose from so it's definitely a place worth trying! the price is also quite affordable and the food itself isn't too big so you won't get too full! The scones here disqualify other pastries from being scones . Baristas pay attention to espresso weight and steaming temperature.. no oversteamed tongue-searing coffee here (unless you are one of those customers who have no heat sensors left and they will accommodate your request). Owner is involved in management and is a coffee expert. This always makes a business thrive. We visited Delmarette because we heard their scones were "the best we've had in Santa Cruz." Guess what, the scones were fantastic! I and my two companions have been to afternoon tea around the world and the three of us are in agreement: Best scones ever. We chatted with the worker who had baked the scones early that morning. They were so humble about the scones, saying, "Oh, we have good scone recipes, I'm not a baker." Oh, yes, they are indeed a baker, and a damn good one. There were a variety scones flavors, savory and sweet, all perfectly baked with nice browning on the outside and tender crumb on the inside. We tasted all the flavors available and all were outstanding. Also, the brand of tea is a great quality and they serve it in big ceramic mugs so your tea experience is so much better than in a paper cup. This is not a place that offers a traditional afternoon tea but the accommodating staff allowed us order a plate of the delicious scones and cups of tea and even gave us refills of hot water. I'm so pleased we found the great scones and offer my thanks for the informal tea party. read more

We were in the area visiting Ano Nuevo State Park and decided to grab lunch in Santa Cruz. After a comfortable stroll along Pacific, we decided on Cafe Delmarette seeing it as a quaint little coffee shop. Our family of 4 opted for 4 sandwiches and 4 drinks and overall found everything to be quite tasty. Fair warning, it's a small operation, so be prepared to wait a bit during high time. Beginning with drinks, mom ordered the cappuccino which she found good, but much smaller than average. Dad had a basic cafe au lait and liked it. My brother and I each had the hot chocolate after seeing it feature TCHO chocolate. It certainly met expectations - delivered nice and hot with a delicious chocolate richness. We tried our best to nurse the drinks, but pretty much all of us finished our drink well before our sandwiches arrived... For sandwiches, we ordered 4 sandwiches, but only 3 varieties. The Rita - features herbed egg fritata, thin sliced roasted potatoes, aioli, sharp white cheddar sandwiched between 2 slices of compagnon (whole wheat/white flour mixed sourdough). Very savory choice. Easily the sandwich with the most flavor - highly recommended! BLAT - bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato on potato bread. This sandwich was a classic flavor combination and the avocado just made it a little better. Overall, it was a little too juicy though - fresh tomatoes will do that though. (unfortunately, I forgot the name) - featured ham, thinly sliced apples, cheese, and rosemary. This sandwich was the most interesting in terms of flavor, but I thought it still worked well. The combination of salty, sweet, and herbs was really quite delicious. All in all, Cafe Delmarette is nice choice for a cafe. Prices are reasonable. Food is good. And sitting outside will let you to enjoy the sun while also taking in the fun of downtown Santa Cruz. read more
